Reviews of Horseshoe Bar Glasgow
D. S.
First pub of the day and first pub of this 2 week trip to Scotland. I had a half pint of Northern Monk Eternal. Sam had a cup of tea. Old school pub with a lot of wood paneling and an oval bar that seems to run on forever. Service was good. No complaints. Toilets were clean.
C. H.
Visited for a midweek lunch and had the three plate tapas option. Delicious! I recommend the nachos!
The staff were really lovely too and approached us with menus when we sat down. I was expecting to go to the bar to order or to order via the website.
Wouldn't hesitate to visit again.
Got to have a look at all the pictures and plaques on the wall - perhaps something to do when it's quiet.
f. f.
Been in here many a time so always look forward to going back, it is one of the best pubs in the world and I have been in a few.
One other Horseshoe bar I have been in was in Sorrento in Italy, it was also a great traditional Scottish pub.

Old style bar with one of the longest counters in the UK. Fast and efficient staff, you won't be waiting long for a drink even on a busy Saturday.
J. G.
Came in a couple of times and really enjoyed the atmosphere, beer was reasonably priced, would have liked to try the food but food service was halted due to staff shortage on the night, the menu was the same as some chain pubs I have seen though
R. N. J.
Great historic pub. Very friendly staff. Delicious food. Definitely will visit again when I am back in Glasgow
K. A.
We had a wonderful visit for lunch and enjoyed our food. Jeanette (not sure if I’m spelling her name correctly) was our server and she was fantastic! She was super friendly and gave us recommendations on where to explore while in Glasgow. She was a one woman show that kept the whole place running while servicing several tables….all with a smile! Because of her, we will definitely be back!
K. D.
Had our works night out in Glasgow. Didn’t book anything with the intention on just going in a pub crawl and pick up food along the way. We ended up staying in the Horseshoe the whole time. Great atmosphere. Great hospitality from staff. And in my opinion the tastiest burger I’ve ever had (Dirty Animal). Very happy crew.
A. L.
Matt & Alex bar staff very helpful & full of chat. The door staff on Saturday night were very pleasant & welcoming!!!
A very clean bar with great food prices & variety!!!
We'll definitely return the next trip we have to Glasgow.
L. R.
Came here on a work night out. The atmosphere was excellent albeit the music was much too loud, my ears are still ringing two days later which far from ideal. Additionally as the night progressed certain staff members lost their patience and became quite rude. To this place's credit the karaoke was fantastic and the drinks were pretty good aswell. I would come back, just with some pretty strong ear protection.
S. M.
Lots of atmosphere and just a great bar where probably half of the city have passed through over the years. A 'go to' place when visiting Glasgow. We enjoyed it and it's old interior with a huge circular bar. Get there early if you want a seat.
V. F.
We had a great night. Our first in years. My family was visiting Glasgow. We thought The Horse Shoe Bar. It was a great night. Dj and Staff awesome. The singers were Amazing. Go check it out 👏👏🎤🎶💯🌈
F. B.
Was in last night for the Scotland game and had a great time. Staff were excellent, even though it was mobbed, they were serving quickly and were friendly and attentive, even remembering what drinks people were having when reordering. Fantastic service and experience!
I. N.
I would like to say thanks to the woman behind the bar from midday until after 2 pm.
Who looked after us
Great service
Very pleasant person
Looked after our table.
Had a good laugh with her also .
Would recommend the horseshoe karaoke to all my friends
J. K.
A busy city centre pub on a Friday night. Interesting decor with a traditional feel. Looks like a great place to spend an afternoon with a newspaper and a few pints or a busy night out visit before visiting other bars in the area.
R. M.
Fantastic old pub. Been visiting here on and off for years . It never gets old. Good selection of drinks at a reasonable price and excellent service.
L. S.
Was their last night overall was a class night , great atmosphere, but I had booked upstairs with the intention of getting food as I had just finished work as well as drinks and couldn't get anything but was told I would have to go downstairs , and maybe the app shouldn't be advertised as I ended up having to go up to the bar anyway , but it was really fun and will definitely be back in for drinks 🙂
J. M.
Used to like having lunch upstairs with table service from brisk ladies. Really traditional.
It looks to me as though it's been revamped judging by the photos. I'll check it out but I'm not optimistic!
T. C.
Proper bar with proper service from experienced bar staff, but what goes on under the bar....
D. M. D.
Christmas works night out and didn't disappoint. We all enjoyed ourselves. Bar staff second to none, always helpful. Will be BACK. 😘
L. P.
Good old fashioned pub. Drink selection is great and food is super. Very good place to unwind.
J. P.
Having visited many times I would definitely recommend you give this pub a visit, staff very friendly and helpful, Good selection of beers and reasonable priced, I'll definitely visit again.
D. C.
Great pub, one of glasgow finest. Love the atmosphere, good choice of beers, bar staff warm and friendly
L. H.
Very nice friendly bar. Staff excellent. Nice food. Bar open till 11.00pm. Not many people in when we visited but staff says it can get busy !
A. B.
This is a must when visiting Glasgow, a beautiful bar, amazing staff, great food. Where else would I rather be than in the Horseshoe for a pie and a pint for lunch? Nowhere!!!
r. e.
Always been a great bar, and it remains that way, see on my next visit.
A. L.
Bar down stairs was OK, but nothing special. We went for the Karaoke but it was too busy upstairs apparently, unless you were a group of women.
F. J.
Always a lovely atmosphere, love musically, very welcoming feel to it. I do however miss the food!
M. S.
Great traditional pub with a amazing bar. More optics than I have ever seen any where. Must visit
L. L.
Arrived in Glasgow relatively late on a Thursday evening and were in the mood for some pub food. This place hit the spot. Very generous portions, we both had the scampi (on offer 2 for £8) followed by sticky toffee pudding with custard. Washed down with a pint of Tennant's. Great atmosphere, watches some of the football too. Lovely young lady looked after us at the bar. If we're ever back up in Glasgow, we'll be back.
P. J. M.
Busy downstairs. Barmaid friendly and helpful. Dined upstairs. Attentive staff. Food was very good and value for money. Central location near the railway station is very convenient place to recharge.
G. M.
Didnt realise we had to book upstairs so missed out, but downstairs was a great atmosphere, bouncers were so friendly
M. K.
Brilliant wee place , very busy, so either book your seats or get In early.
A. L.
City centre horseshoe shaped bar. Traditional with great atmosphere - homely and good friendly service. Food was good too. We had a nice good value lunch. Drinks and food for two came to under £20.
G. S.
Good old fashind pub can do without sports TV all over the place just have a conversation the tvs distrac people
C. G.
Bit of indifferent. Hadn't been in few years , so we popped in thinking,'that lovely local pub atmosphere in the town". Didn't happen, barmaid looked bit stressed, order wrong but rectified & excuse me if it sounds a slight much..1 pint/1vodka diet coke £10.20..! Possibly return, but possibly if in another few years, il bring an extra 💰
F. S.
Great atmosphere, a long bar, and great burgers. The other food was okay enough.
J. C. (. a. J.
Good pub near Glasgow Central Station. 4 cask beers on tap when I visited. Interesting victorian interior including the longest bar in Scotland in a horseshoe shape.
A. M.
Terrific bar and staff who are on the ball.
Highly recommended if you're out and about and looking for a great pint.
Guinness was spot on too 👍
M. T.
Nice wee pub, food a bit dry, good atmosphere. I must have enjoyed as I was in there for 8 hours 👍
M. L.
Good pub, quick service! Insider tip.
A. A.
we tried here for lunch about a month ago.we both had bacon burgers.chips and dry slaw which was very small portion.we both found the burgers dry. and didnt like the dry slaw.i would return to try some thing else on the menu.just would not order burgers again.
B. B.
Great wee friendly bar, great staff. Case of everyone talks to anyone which is good for a pub well done
R. G.
The food here is great, the prices even better - especially the lunch menu which has 3 courses for £4.99. The burgers are tasty, and come with a generous portion of chips.
It's always clean, the staff are always pleasant. The toilets are very small and cramped but that's the only downside.
B. L.
The very definition of an original Scottish pub. Make it a destination if you're in Glasgow. Good food, friendly service, fantastic atmosphere.
A. W.
This bar close so central station is called the Horseshoe Bar for the simple reason that the bar is shaped like a horseshoe. Quite a famous bar in Glasgow with its traditional bar and antique style and it has quite a prestigious Karaoke upstairs with some top singers. For the more nationalistic among you, Irish as well as Scottish, it has Union Jack symbols on the windows in favour of the union although I don't know when they date from, they look fairly old.
C.
Busy bar when I visited on a Friday night so took a while to get served. Atmosphere pleasant as well as staff. Toilets average
S. M.
Had a couple of drink there after shopping in Glasgow. Great atmosphere and eating pie and beans at the bar filled us up nicely.
T. M.
Great bar and great staff what not to love
P. H.
Always Different, Always the Same. Viva Mexico 🇲🇽
P. M.
Really good bar and good staff, plenty choice of beers, good night had, cheers
S. B.
Good service and not a bad atmosphere for a Tuesday night. Bar was typically city priced for drinks.
A. M.
So very helpful my friend in wheelchair staff on the ball with the ramp when she wanted a cigarette thank you so much had a wonderful day
v. f.
This bup in Glasgow is a must to drop in there always room for more entertainment and friendly people and staff work hard. Go check it out 👏💯⭐🌈
S. F.
Top boozer this. Good vibe, good beer, decent food (if only I had asked what brand the veggie sausages were, they were excellent)
m. p.
Went there because of what i read on google about the karaoke. Grabbed a couple of tennent's in the meantime. Great great time there. The atmosphere is just incredible, everyone singing along. Would give 10 stars if i can. I'll come back in Glasgow just for this
V. W.
What a lovely place to relax and enjoy a drink. Very friendly staff, a great selection of gins and a relaxed atmosphere. Highly recommend.
l. m. M.
Overall we had a good few hours here, bar staff were fantastic and pleasant, karaoke host shouldn't really be downing the singers who aint the best. Also some incredible singers too which was nice to hear. Toilets weren't as clean as I would have hoped and smell was pretty bad which I'm.sure is easily resolved.
K. T.
One of the best starships in Glasgow. Always a friendly placa to meet up for a pint and a blether.
G. L.
Good old fashioned Scottish bar,
I got really hammered here 1 night and had a mild case of alcohol poisoning. Its. A nice bar to go out with friends and enjoy a few beers together. I think we had missed the food place but there is a bomb Indian food right down the street that was pretty delicious.
Pro tip
Pretty much any alcohol with Indian food taste bomb
Especially bubbly wine and beer!
D. F.
Whenever I'm in Glasgow, it's a must go to place. To me, it is Glasgow - a mixture of people from all walks of life mixing happily in the pub, generating a welcoming and inclusive atmosphere. Staff are friendly and efficient. Prices are good and also a good range of beers on tap.
K. C.
Great, architectural gem. Cask & keg plus all the usual pumps. Entertainment upstairs. Nice, will be back again soon.
C. U.
Very traditional venue serving good beer with welcoming staff. Well done.

Been back with my dad a few times since my first visit and it's still as great as it was. Great drink and food
M. D.
First time visiting and what a great pub! It was busy as the football was on but we got a couple of seats at the bar. The staff were amazing too. Didn't wait long at all to be served. Can't wait to come back!
B. O.
Nice atmospbere, old style pub, lovely decor.
A. G.
We went to this bar specially because it had one of the biggest attend area of Europe. It was true, it was huge but many people as us though the same and it was a bit crowed.
I am 25 years old and my girlfriend 26, I understand that they have to check our ids but it was a bit boring because they checked it before entering and inside.
The pints were really good served, and not very expensive to be in the city centre.
Pros: Price, the local itself
G. H.
Nice pub. Good prices and friendly staff!
A. M.
Old fashioned pup long established, bussy good service,Guinness particularly good.
R. S.

Staff amazing, particularly Carol who made us so welcome we actually returned 3 times and met her smiling when back there. She recommended we come for lunch to have fish and chips which was great.
d. d.
Sandra and jinty are thee best came for a late lunch and drinks and we were very well looked after by both! Excellent service and a real credit to your business. Can’t wait to return.
a. g.
Fresh tasty cauliflower salad
J. W.
A traditional Victorian Glaswegian pub. Great range of beers and lagers. Have yourself a pint and absorb the history.
H. S.
You can put a new glass window in the gents downstairs toilet it’s been broken for about a year
M. D.
Good food and beer in an old pub
I. M.
Great selection of beers and always busy.
M. D.
Bit of a marmite pub, but a welcome entry into Glasgow. Friendly staff, clean and tidy no-nonsense hostelry. Nice beers at good prices. Fire alarm went off when we were there and no-one ran about screaming, but it did put us off from the noise.
n.
Great bar.. Well fitted out especially after the refit, soft drinks a little expensive especially as I'm the designated driver, the latest karaoke guy sadly isn't as good as the original guy, sound so loud we had to leave plus distorted when singing.. Shame as this let's down an otherwise great bar.
M. G.
Great atmosphere and check out the first floor for professional karaoke setup.
J. o. M.
Amazing staff. Give them all raises. Downstairs bar.
F. S.
Great atmosphere tucked away in an alley. Killer burgers! Will return.
C. W.
Great atmosphere and drinks were reasonably priced.
C. M.
This place is run by brilliant staff. Even though its mad busy you never wait to be served at the bar, the staff are continously clearing in glasses. It's clean and great to watch sport on the big screens.
N. P.
Popped in for a pint yesterday, no sign of the famous pie oven, but when i asked they were still doing them, so got me and the wife one each. When they arrived they had clearly been cooked in the microwave. Very soggy.
R. G.
Great traditional bar in Glasgow tucked away down Drury Street.
A step back in time. Friendly staff and a mix of patrons. Karaoke bar upstairs that has a party atmosphere!
G. M.
A beautiful interior of this very nice pub, age and character makes this a handsome establishment good range of beers and friendly pub..
D. S.
Great pub, last time I was in here was over 40 years ago, until last weekend, never changed, bar staff are amazing, and on the ball, great choice of beers
1.
Fantastic bar for a drink. Visit every time I'm in Glasgow.
M. C.
Had brilliant time even though it was long day but really good to get a break at times would work there just for the experience if any other events come up count me in
I. J.
Fri kareoke brilliant
Warm jock welcome for us taffs
Loved it there
D. M.
Cracking bar, not many places left like this rammed on a Sunday afternoon only thing that spoils it is the door staff unfortunately
F. E.
Sorry, I made a 2-star critic earlier! I confused with another bar with the same name.
This is a bar that I highly recommend. My favorite bar when I go to Glasgow. 5 stars by the service of the team and thank you for the timely communication to correct my mistake. Thanks
R. G.
I have said all along the only thing that let's this pub down is the gents toilet. Have been going in for over 15 years. And evan after recent renovations the gents is just as bad as before.
S. W.
Great pub with awesome karaoke place on 1st floor
S.
Its my regular pub so can't be too critical!!!...Personally I would rip out the once famous space wasting bar and move on to Horseshoe No 2. It holds no purpose as biggest bar in Europe etc because it is no longer , people can't move and don't care about size of the bar. Staff excellent , plenty choice so see you soon!!
P. S.
Although face coverings still LEGALLY IN PLACE . NO sign of any adherence to the latter . Had to write down drink order so loud . Would need to be in close contact with bar server. No s8gn of Mic being sanitised between singers . Toilet Ladies . Not good swap doors round. I booked a table and did not get what I requested . Had fun anyway . Had to seek in snacks after 6pm . No food just shots at a price
N. C.
A traditional public house with an impressive horseshoe bar (spoiler). Certainly worth a visit and a couple of drinks, if only to feel a bit of nostalgia but it didn't feel quite as 'comfortable' as I'd hoped. Interesting fact that Travis played there when trying to break into the mainstream music scene.
h. a.
Brilliant ladies day out
D. B.
Nice bar, friendly staff and good service.
G. L.
Great old bar. Recommended to me by my mum who grew up in Glasgow, was amazing to return to. Feels very covid secure. The building has lots of old historic bits and bobs scattered around within if you know where to look for them. Would recommend a pint here. Staff were great also.
A. B.
Always a great experience. Had an issue with the payment thing. Was double charged, but the server took my word for it and offered an instant refund bit I thought another round of fine beers world be more than adequate
M. D.
Went in at 3.30 had lovely fish and chips and a few drinks a shame lots of table were booked for 6pm we had to stand while lots of tables were empty must be loosing money sad we had to leave when there was empty seats but good thing was went to the piper at George Square staff were fantastic entertainment was 1st class definitely be back at the piper 🍻🍻🍻Happy days 😀
s. c.
Efficiency is the name of the game when serving the public keeping your eye on who is coming through the door and therefore who is next to be served always with a polite and welcoming manner. 5 stars I give.
S. A.
A proper pub in the heart of the city. Good beer and friendly staff.
C. A.
I saw a man going up a hill with a trolley full of horseshoes, four leaf clovers and rabbit's feet...
I thought, “Well he's pushing his luck!”
J. A.
Only went in for a few drinks as we live this place when in the city centre
W. L.
Busy, staff were great and service was quick. Atmosphere brilliant.
L. D.
Really good bar. Very busy
B. W.
Great big, busy, friendly bar. Good beers and whisky choice. Staff very nice. Toilets smell of pish.
L. M.
The place is really cool, the staff very very nice, the food and cocktails oh sooo good .
Definitely a very good experience. Thank you all
G. R.
Came for st Patrick's day from blackpool young girl who served us was exceptional we where there 3 to4 hour's and the place got really busy at 1 ish she was run off her feet but still had a friendly smile for everyone I've worked for m&b for 15 years so tend to notice what's going on.
A. K.
Pretty good but can't find any horse shoe.
P. R.
This is a great place to stop for a beer. Always crowded and fun.
D. P.
Building nice with old features and nice friendly staff, food adequate but the toilets and sink areas were dirty such a shame spoilt my visit
s. m. h.
The place was packed nowhere to sit but good beer
C. B.
Very clean staff were very helpful much was just great a special day my birthday
K. B.

Great fish and chips and a glass of cola 2meals for £9.00 you can't beat that anywhere else you would pay that for 1fish and chips good service good staff very attentive to your needs excellent
M. A. M.
Large pub plenty of seating saw they had karaoke on later in the evening no long queues enjoyed a quick drink
W. M.
Nice bar in Glasgow city centre decent prices and nice beer.
Z. S.
Good:

J. M.
Busy pub, quick good service
B. J.
Busy old time pub, good atmosphere and tucked away from the humdrum life
d. p.
Was good atmosphere, upstairs karaoke
J.
Never been here before. Very nice pub with great choice of drinks. I'll be back
K. G.
Great atmosphere ... Friendly staff... Toilets could be a bit better.. Bit pongy but it is a really busy bar
K. W.
Bar with character. Great food very reasonably priced.
G. M.
One of the most "traditional" pubs still in existence in Glasgow, it was a surreal experience visiting under Covid restrictions. Limited numbers entered, everyone had to strictly remain seated and weirdest of all was the table service! Still a great pub!
N. B.
Lovely meal , staff excellent.
A. W.
I'm a regular visitor to this bar when in Glasgow but it's lost some of its appeal due to the heavy handed enforcement of Covid restrictions by the staff. Only one Real ale available on my visit. There are usually 3. Breakfasts used to be served from 10.30 which were well prepared and excellent value for money. Unfortunately they are no longer available and food service does not start until 12.
I love this place but was extremely underwhelmed on my latest visit. It's still worth a visit but I hope it returns to it's former glories very soon.
A. M.
If you live in Glasgow then you'll know about the Horse Shoe as a great old fashioned pub. If you're visiting then you should pop in for a pie and a pint
K. M.
Waited a while for our food, it was warm when it came not hot, portion size wasn't great either, steak pie was brick hard round the edge, toilets are tiny and not very clean, toilet seat at the side of the pan on the floor, other toilet had a toilet roll down it, karaoke and staff are great, wouldn't eat in here again and is totally isn't worth the money
A.
Great place. Good beers and atmosphere. All procedures followed.
You just can't account for the very odd eejit who still goes from urinal to door without washing. Eejit will pass the test to print. What I really said won't. To be fair I think he was just passing through on the way to the station. Arse.
T. M.
Always liked this bar.great pint of Guinness. Great staff. Especially Carol and master mixologist Ray
M. H.
Well worth a visit. Range of beers. Very good service despite being quite busy
I. N.
Always an interesting visit whenever we land. Be nice to get a chance to sing but always hilarious to watch others do it
B. O.
Excellent traditional pub in Glasgow city centre the length and design of the bar is worth a visit plenty of cask ales on offer
M. B.
Lovely bar in the middle of the city centre and round the corner from the train station. Very different now due to covid restrictions, previously it was a very busy place on a Saturday afternoon and when there's live sport on. Adhering perfectly to the government guidelines but the downside is it's not busy and no music or sound for the sport, staff were very professional and couldn't do enough for us on our visit, food looked lovely though we were only in for a pint.
G. M.
A gem of a traditional bar tucked away off the main street and a world record holder too, heritage decor, large dining area upstairs and a good selection of beers. Great service from the staff, that made me feel really welcome.
R. L.
As ever, friendly and attentive staff. Nothing to improve upon.
E. F.
Enjoyed my visit. Long time since my working life and visits to the Horseshoe on
Payday. Nice friendly staff. Not leave it as long till my next visit.
R. L.
An original, a classic, a true traditional bar, a dying breed these days!
D. E.
Great atmosphere and excellent pub food
p. b.
A very lively bar especially upstairs section.
The visit was a little spoiled by a violent situation concerning a drunken customer and the bouncers
F. F.
First time going to this pub and absolutely loved it! Great atmosphere and vibe for a Monday night!
S. A.
A Brilliant pub. Visited for dinner and drinks last night. Excellent service and great food. Really good value for money too. Look forward to visiting again soon.
W. A.
What a bar - real character. Must visit!!!
W. R.
Lots of fun big pub. Folks had fun watching the match. Good prices.
S. M.
Cracking pub, no real ales, got sold out, plenty of the usual lager though. Helpful staff on this the longest bar in Europe. Next time I'm through let's have another pint here Jeremy.
C. M.
Loved it for the football Europa Cup final and Scottish Cup final. Staff worked very very hard. Will go back .
A. M. R.
3 course meal £4.99! Bar lady soooo friendly 😊
d.
Friendly staff, great prices. Nice bar.
S. R.
Good beer, good service. Learn to breath through your mouth when using the toilets. The smell of warm pi$$ is not pleasant.
S. C.
Amazing staff team great Guinness
C. M.
A very busy bar, but the staff are amazing. They somehow manage to serve several people simultaneously without getting a drink wrong or more importantly - the cost! If that's not enough, the have a great selection of beers & whisky at verrry good prices.
G. N.
Great and traditional Glasgow boozer that is always worth a visit. Decent prices and if you choose any wetherspoons over the Horseshoe Bar then you are leading a soulless life.
S. H.
Nice pint of Stewart 80 shilling
a. j. (.
Best old style pub in Glasgow center. Aleays clean and Staff are always pleasant any time Ive drank or ate in the place. Only negative is toilets. Bit small and a bit of a smell in them. I get they cant expand them but making them fresher would be a bonus. The cost of food.and drink is reasonable considering its location.
C.
Fabulous pub, definitely worth a visit!
F. M.
The longest counter of Scotland , great pub !
L. F.
Good food cooked well. Inexpensive and good choice. Staff are pleasant too
D. M.
Absolutely fantastic place myself and my friends had the best time. Staff who served us at tables where lovely and always checking everything was ok.
D. R.
What do I think of the Horseshoe Bar? Well, it's an institution. Whether you're in town post football match, after work, meeting people, just off the train or whatever, the Horseshoe is the place to gravitate to. It's central, very convivial and, even if it's packed (which it often is) you can always find a place at the bar to order from a super staff - who have eyes in the backs of their heads.
Talking of finding a place at the bar, you can always find your wife/friend/date (assuming you're mad enough to turn up after her!) as you can walk all the way round the horseshoe shaped bar, so it's not difficult. As you'll have guessed, a single woman would be quite safe there.
The downside? Well, if you're looking for a super smooth 5 star establishment, then that it is not. It would have had sawdust on the floor in former days. But it's an old traditional bar with lots of old carved wood and mirrors - very atmospheric - and noisy, not canned music, but conversation. And, of course, you have the legendary Glasgow friendliness, so just turn to somebody, staff or the person next to you. Speak, and you'll be into a great conversation.
Finally, it has a huge range of beer and the food's not bad either.
J. B.
Awesome spot to grab a beer. Great selection of drinks, friendly staff and cozy environment.
D. W.
Staff were amazing and so friendly
P. W.
Lovely atmosphere. Somewhere to escape the fake tan, overly made up brigade. If you look like an extra from TOWIE, go elsewhere, haha! Fine selection of ale and spirits and super friendly staff - can't recommend enough.
m.
Classic old drinkers pub with wonderful original fittings. The genuine article.
C. M.
Not the pub it was but still better than most.
C. K.
This is a decent wee bar in central Glasgow. The drink is cheap and the food is pretty good aswell! Nothing fancy at all but even for a couple before you go into he next place, I'd definately recommend.
M. C.
Decent place great service, good for a quick after work pint
M. H.
Good atmosphere, reasonable choice of beers with 4 decent handpulls. 2nd longest bar in UK apparently 🙄
A. H.
In a very positive way, this place never really changes. A consistently good option for a drink very near Central Station. This pub tries really hard to get people served quickly and the prices are always fair to good. A properly solid, reliable place to drink when you're in town. Obviously good for watching football - or rugby if that's your thing - as there are TVs everywhere.
Tip for first time visitors - if you have time take a walk all the way round the bar. Worth it for novelty value and to discover some of the cosy little corners towards the back of the pub.
L. L. (.
Second longest bar in Europe, very classic bar, can be cosy but good for a few beers.
B. B.
Seems to have a local legendary status but I’ve found it to be just a typical pub. It’s always rammed so it’s obviously loved by many people. Not been upstairs for the karaoke so can’t judge that. Drinks/beer selection is very run of the mill. Alright for a classic old school pub vibe I suppose.
R. S.
Simply put, just a great place for a drink although the food menu is not bad also. Friendly staff within a comfortable pub atmosphere!
B. J.
Still the best place on a Sunday for karaoke
A. S.
Good helpings of food from a reasonably priced menu. Didn't have any cask ales on sale on this occasion. Very handy for both Central and Queen Street stations.
c. s.
I had the smothered chicken with swapped mash and mushy peas were added on for only £1, I was served by a manager who was very friendly and recommended the smothered chicken as a meal
R. M.
As near to perfect traditional pub as you are likely to get
Almost unchanged in at least 40 years
This is a great example of how pubs should be in my opinion
Brilliant atmosphere, excellent service, extensive variety and well kept drinks.
Really not aware of anything negative to say.
Easily deserves all 5 stars.
K. D.
The food was delicious! Service from Carol was outstanding!
B. G.
Fantastic beer choice, great service even when the pub was busy
S. D.
I made a booking to have lunch in the lounge. I arrived at my booking time to be told that my booking was not going to go ahead as the longue was closed, they had approved my booking the same day they closed the lounge. No one had informed me of this, and it was the lady in the bar down stairs who had to give me this information. I gave 3 stars purely for the staff in the bar down stairs, who very nicely were accommodate my self and my party of 4 others even though we had not booked for eating in the bar. She was very apologetic even though it was not her fault. The bar downstairs was clean and staff were friendly, they all followed covid saftey standards which was great to see and made the dining experience very comfortable.
I had emailed the booking line to enquire why i had not recieved any communication to say my booking was cancelled. The reply i got was barely an apology, for me having wasted my time in going to a booking that was cancelled.
If it hadn't been for the bar being able to accommodate and the lovely lady who works there i would have given one star. I wont be booking for the lounge again
T. B.
Good pub very busy met 4 Canadian Guys in there good talking to them .
J. G.
My Friends and i had a great time visiting Glasgow for the weekend and we found this bar lively and friendly. It quite a big bar I can recommend this place for groups on a night out. The staff are friendly and they have plenty of beer on tap.
J. N.
Had a great time every time I've been here. Lovely staff and a great drink selection. Would highly recommend!
G.
Lovely old charm bar. Fish n chips was good on Friday. Ale was good. Service was good. However there was a strong smell of tobacco which made me down grade from 4 to 3 stars on health grounds with the tobacco fumes which where very evident and gave me a headache.
D. K.
Nice and friendly service. Delicious food for a very good price! We had a cheese & bacon burger and a caramel apple crumble. Soo delicious! Good experience in Glasgow! Thank you so much!
g. m.
Best pub in Glasgow, also had their three course meal for£4.95. don't know how they do it. I'd love the staff from my local to work in here for a day to learn how it's done properly. Attentive, hard working professionals. If there is anything to fault this pub I've never found it. High standards deserve high praise. Well done Horseshoe
L. S.
Great bar with a lovely atmosphere but food was much better a few years ago. Seems much if it is microwaved now, and you can tell. Spoils it. Waitress was also overly keen to keep our table tidy as we sat, almost hitting me in the face three times leaning over me to replace sauces and menus. Very annoying!
L. C.
Canny beat it for a great night out. Best to get their early or book a table (in advance for a weekend).
P. G.
A staple in the pages of life. Could be pretty but its not. Its big and old and seems eternal. Classic Glasgow bar. 3 minutes from the glass awnings of Central Station seving real ale on four pumps. Familiar big brewer options but well kept.
A. P.
Typical old Glasgow pub with no frills. Food very cheap and perfectly ok. Karaoke upstairs is fab and the banter from the DJ flows all night. We had a gr8 laugh and the people around us were obviously regulars so spoke away to us. We loved it. Only bad thing a would say is that it is a small place and fills up really quickly.
c.
I love the horseshoe bar. Every time you go you get a fantastic mix of people, all of whom are happy to talk and chat and be accomodating in every way.
The prices are fantastic, including food if you're going during the day.
The karaoke at night is incredible, but again there's a mix of X Factor and no factor, so you don't feel too scared to put your name down.
Great place, consistently great atmosphere, and amazing staff. Check it out.
J. Y.
Katie our server was super friendly
The fish is outstanding.
A 3 course dinner for £4.99.
Kids loved the food too.
Absolutely fabulous.
Toilets need upgraded though.
Will we be back? .... you bet.
S. M.
Lovely lively traditional bar in Central Glasgow. Friendly helpful staff as well as super friendly customers. Great meeting place for friends and family
K. H.
Amazing place, amazing singers and amazing vibe ! Staff are top notch! Always happy in the busiest of atmospheres!
E. D.
I've been here twice... Once during a work night out and once for lunch. All the rest of the times when tried to go in it was so full I actually couldn't... Always packed, but welcoming and cozy. Amazing prices and nice people both behind and in front of the bar. So definitely worth a visit!
d. a.
Great little pub and the food was fantastic. Very friendly service
A. m. M.
One of the oldest pubs in Glasgow well worth a visit
s. g.
Excellent. A proper pub.
s. f.
The longest counter in Glasgow you have to go there
K. B.
Went to the karoke on saturday night, was great and atmosphere was brill. Only thing was it did take a while to be served at the bar but the queue system they have in place works to save people skipping. Got very busy quickly as well and was a biy squished at times.
We reserved a table at 5.30 and was full then you would need to go early to grab a seat. Great pub to have a drink in and the prices were good to.
C. W.
An expat who hadn't been back in Glasgow for many years my friends suggested meeting there.. Took me back, great atmosphere, staff and my favourite pies. Left knowing more people than before. If I had to leave Italy I'd settle back in Glasgow because of this pub.
r. k.
Just in for a few beers place was busy with footie on tv but service was good will visit again.
D. L.
A range of cask beers but not well kept
D.
Great bar and karaoke upstairs. Great atmosphere.
H. S.
Absolutely loved this pub friendly staff lovely pint can't wait to go back next time we visit Glasgow
A. C.
Always a pleasure to visit this pub. Staff are friendly and the place oozes character. If you come back at night why not try the Karaoke upstairs which has always been consistently one of the best in Glasgow...but come early.
J. T.
Very reasonably priced with good food
M. M.
I have always loved the horse shoe bar... It was always a great pub to go on a Friday night after work. It lacked nothing but recently it has obviously been decided that it lacked music being be blasted out... Well... For me it didn't! This has just spoiled the once great atmosphere when all you could hear was chattering, laughing and clinking of glasses. This was one of the few good pubs where u could comfortably talk without having to shout above music being played like many other pubs in the city centre. I don't understand why it had to change as it already had a winning formula!
T. S. Q.
Good traditional Scottish pub. They have more than what is present of the menu (online and printed). Really good pie and beer selection (just like many others places around). Worth from having just a quick meal alone to chill all afternoon with a group drinking and having snacks
J. M.
always good night and service
d. c.
Traditional bar with locals good ales and whiskey's. Massive bar worth a visit for a real Glasgow bar. Events and live music upstairs
S.
Another olde world pub with a protected interior. Shamrock shaped bar or is it 3 horseshoe shaped bar? Always busy but plenty of staff so that you don't wait too long to get served. Prices were reasonable for a city centre pub.
I. L.
Nice chips and fish, can't say the same for the sausages.
g. w.
Great bar it was extremely busy when we went in but a local invited us to sit down and join them after making space for us.
Think I saw three pumps with real ale but ended up asking the barman what was available as it was so busy. Beer was OK, great atmosphere worth a visit.
M. M.
First time in this famous bar.. good service plus I liked looking at the bar and decor
D. “. D. M.
Busy as per usual great atmosphere and more drink options than a distillery haha
A. M.
Accessed upstairs bar at approx 6pm on Saturday night on my first work day/night out. By that time there was already a 🎤 karaoke party going on with all types of revellers-a great mix of Glasgow's finest among others! Great atmosphere though the more we'll to do in our party looked somewhat bewildered and out of their depth! They were first timers. Having been many a time in years gone by it is a little rough and ready but I've always enjoyed the atmosphere, music and singing. All so good natured, the Horseshoe bar never disappoints if you're looking for an honest, unpretentious day or night with lots of laughs, singing and a wee boogie. Maybe not for the fainthearted or those seeking a good natter as you can't really hear much else! Personally I love it and can't wait to go back.
J. P.
A historic bar hidden away down a side street. Priced low compared to the 'trendy' places in Glasgow but the large circular bar in the big open room makes it unique. Extremely busy when there's football on so check the fixtures first!
C. M.
Had a great night there on a Sunday night cheap drink great music only thing I would say was there isn't a lot of staff for how busy it is
S. B.
Great place for a cheap lunch food us great, staff are lovely. Quick service which is great when your on your lunch hour. I love the sweet chilli chicken wrap with chips on the side with a soft drink under £5.
E. T.
Came here based on a local's recommendation and didn't disappoint. Fun (and packed) atmosphere with a wide selection of beverages.
R. W.
Very busy bar, but the staff were quick to serve customers, and the prices were favorable
G. C.
Quick service at the bar. Friendly staff and a very lively and popular karaoke bar upstairs.
S. D.
Lovely pub. A typical Scottish pub with people from the age of 18-80. Great music and super beer. (Guinness in my case). Lovely staff members and 'shot ladies' walking around.
T. P.
First time there. Waiter was very helpful. Friendly staff. It was nice for a pub. Had dinner. Chicken was a bit over cooked, dry. Ribs were tender and tasty!
R. H.
Great pub right in the middle of Glasgow. Lively but not unwelcoming. Definitely will go again
D. M.
Brilliant pub grt staff friendly 👏 drinks 🍸 👌 disco upstairs wee busy place 😀 😋
D. M.
Good atmosphere and food drinks .
j. m.
Great bar with very attentive staff. Good venue to watch sport
S. P.
Large city pub of character. Good selection of beers and large choice of lunchtime food which is reasonably priced. Recommend the pulled pork toastie with a pint of Guinness. Gets busy weekdays at lunchtime and after 6pm. Very central location nearby bus route and car parking on the nearby street and car parks.
p. c.
Iconic venue, our go to place when visiting Glasgow.
Fantastic atmosphere and brilliant staff.
G. P.
A taste of glasgow. Traditional Scottish themed, 104ft long bar with a friendly feel and always a good crowd of people. Positioned down a back street this bar is an oasis in the busy city. Good beer, good food and good people. What more could you want.
Must visit for travellers from everywhere.
S. M.
On our plane ride here a local recommended we go here for dinner. A great experience in a quaint pub. Our bar tender recommended eats (steak meat pie) and a local brew (tennents). Recommend both highly. Staff is amazing, locals are pleasant and pub was amazing.
R. C.
Really historic bar. Not quite a grand as, say, the Philly in Liverpool, but excellent boozer full of character(s) with cask ales. I recommend returning the next morning. An excellent, huge breakfast costs a fiver and unlimited filter coffee is a quid
M. C.
Any time I am over from Dublin I always make a point of stopping in for a few pints. I love the history of the place and the face that it still has that lovely old world feel off it. Guinness ain't too bad either
K. D.
Nice atmosphere service was great only downside was toilets a tad outdated and some cubicles had no locks
D. W.
Historical and very crowded bar (Saturday). No real ales but still a place not to be missed on the 'real Glasgow' trail.
R. S.
Special atmosphere with good natured punters
R. H.
Great pub. Had a really old school feel to it.
I. C.
Iconic Glasgow pub. Can get very busy but is still great place to pay a visit.
The lunch upstairs is pretty good and costs almost nothing compared to other pubs around Glasgow.
G. F.
Repost - never one star, not sure how that happened, would give 4.5 if that was an option. Have visited for a few decades now, and rarely not enjoyed it. Good pub, good pints, good staff. Occasionally too busy( but that's my age).
D. G.
Good food, refreshments and great customer service.
I. M.
This is THE Glasgow Institution. It is never ever quiet, and it is always full of characters. The prices are great too.
b. r.
My wife and I had lunch upstairs on Friday. We both chose from from the £4.99 three course menu.Still great value and the staff were great, but we were dissapointed to see that all the food was microwaved. What happened to the fresh scotch broth etc.? My wife had the scotch pie,but couldn't eat it.The staff offered an other choice which she declined.I would rather pay a bit more for fresher food. The Horseshoe is a great Glasgow pub and the three course menu is a firm favourite with locals and tourists. Its one of the things that make the Horseshoe unique.I love the pub and will eat upstairs again. See you all soon.
C. G.
It's the bar, it's the vibe, it's the Horseshoe. Stuck down the Drury it looks all small and calm but it's a vibrant place especially when the football is on or the karaoke is happening. The karaoke is legendary. The prices are good. Head upstairs for the food.
S. S.
Good atmosphere good staff
r. l.
Proper classic style pub, cheap drinks and decent staff 👌
G. G.
I love the horseshoe bar glasgow it's a shame how things are due this Covid dame virus.. there no atmosphere in it no back ground music things getting depressed due to it... the bar staff are great but it going be well after the new year be4 any Entertainment. Can any pubs manage to copy / survive until then. That a BIG ??
F. M.
I love this old fashioned, traditional bar, with it's dark wood, and huge mirrors. Great staff too. Tourists seem to be drawn to it like moths to a flame, and rightly so! Keep up the good work.
M. K.
Always go when I cross the border from England. On this occasion though, the ceiling in the main bar at the rear was dripping water, from the gents..... Not good
t. t.
Whilst on a city break to Glasgow the Horse Shoe bar was recommended to us by some police officers we got chatting to on Glasgow Green. We called in mid afternoon and had a memorable experience amongst a lovely atomosphere. The bar has everything. The staff and management deserve the highest praise for there efforts.
We are fascinated with the history of Glasgow and are also great fans of historic public houses. The staff were extremely polite and helpful and more than willing to chat with us about the history of the building, which is an integral part of Glasgow. This bar is a must for anyone visiting the city. We will definitely return when things get back to normal. Many thanks.
Tony Major and Tula Tew
D. R.
Lovely old bar, great service and reasonable prices.
J. K.
Loads of character, nice atmosphere
a. o.
Expensive for drinks but is brilliant value for money a 3 course meal for less than 6.00 pounds but the karaoke singers are brilliant the atmosphere is electric you have to be in before 8.00pm just to make sure you have a seat the number one place for entertainment.
B. H.
Great pub
J. A.
Great pub, atmosphere, clean, prices fab staff very efficient
M. C.
Great staff..great beer..
R. S.
Loud and lively bar, full of locals. Good selection of drinks. (haven't tried their food, but it looked nice)
Perfect for ending your day in Glasgow.
R. A.
Cool spot with a large bar, lots of selection, shooter girls, downtown. Karoke upstairs. Check it out!
N. C.
I wasn't at all disappointed. It reminded my of many London pubs, and was quiet on a Thursday lunchtime. I'm sure the atmosphere is excellent at the weekends. I'll be back next time iI'm in Glasgow!
F. M.
Great staff & food upstairs. Prices are reasonable & a good atmosphere for a night out. Karaoke was very entertaining & the music was a mix of old & new
S. M.
Staff excellent, followed the new rules feel sorry for them as bar normally has great atmosphere, hopefully back to normality soon.
Keep up the good work.
A. M.
My visit was a joy .Excellent staff and courteous with all the covid related issues. Beer was fantastic and a young lady who worked there was in her 48 th year working in the bar .Don't miss this place.
L. d.
Has a downstairs bar and an eating area upstairs which turns into a karaoke venue by evening. £5 lunch menu is a bargain and portions are just enough to fill you. They have a bigger menu on all day too.
G. I.
Great olde-style horseshoe bar and fittings, full of character and characters. Service was great, prices surprisingly cheap and a cracking range of quality beers and ales. Not easy to find but well worth seeking out.
L. L.
Traditional pub with memorabilia covered walls. The huge winding wooden bar takes up most of the ground floor spaces which means seating is restricted. I didn't try the food but it was a perfect place for some post train whiskies as it is located conveniently close to the station.
A. M.
Really nice pub staff very good atmosphere very friendly
A. S.
A Glasgow institution, service is good, beers are ok however fabric of the place is dire. Owners should spend a bit making sure the building isn't falling apart and the plumbing works. It just needs a bit tlc spent on it without destroying the character.
R. C. (.
Me and my Girlfriend were in Glasgow doing some Christmas shopping. We wanted something good to eat rather than go to Macdanalds, so we thought of the Jorse shoe Bar. Our meal in here was good. Service was good, meal was lovely real good price too. It was quiet. No food was wasted, so glad we came here. We will visit here again some time again when in Glasgow. It was nice seeing the old instruments up on the walls too. Its something you dont see much anywhere else.
b.
Great pub, we watched the footy in here. Lots of screens, had a good afternoon with some local lads. Upstairs had karaoke on from mid afternoon. Bit of a disco up there a and a drinking pub down stairs.
J. S.
Had a lunch there, three course meal for about 4 quid, more than a simple nice experience.. The staff was really friendly, two lovely ladies actually. If you're a tourist, it's a place to go once. Definitely.
W. S.
The Horseshoe is an Old and well-established bar in Glasgow, always busy due mostly to it's warm and friendly atmosphere together with a great selection of beers including real ales, I spent a lovely couple of hours there taking in a nice steak dinner which was delicious. I will visit here again.
D. N.
Great pub
j. g.
First time I'd been back here in about 20 years. It hadn't changed much, still tremendous!
A. P.
Always good.........feel like I've been going to the Horseshoe since I was born 😊great staff......great drink deals and you can have a conversation.....what more do you want.....okay there's karaoke upstairs if you want it!!A Glasgow institution!!
M. J.
Lovely friendly pub.
E. R.
Traditional Glasgow pub with loads of character. Great atmosphere.Good for a catch up with friends,or to watch live sports, plenty of well placed television's.
K. T.
I do like an old fashioned bar, was recommended by family to visit and it did not disappoint
A. T.
Love this pub. Been going here for years but recently the new staff can't pour a Guinness. Quite disappointed the past while. Hope the staff get more training
P. K.
I found this place in a back street hiding from the rain and accidently discovered a hidden gem. Horseshoe is just great. Firstly, the atmosphere is great and both other visitors and staff are very friendly. Secondly, because there is always some special offer (and a good one too), it is ridiculously cheap, or "great value for money" using proper glossar ;). And finally, I had here the best fish&chips on my vacation!
Do you need any more reasons?
m. d.
Great wee pub good central location and a smashing pint. Also do food upstairs and have a karaoke
G. M.
A place once you've been you want to go back, famous for its karaokes and delicious meals, staff are always friendly. If you've never been i would definitely recommend going. A great night out.
r. g.
An ideal venue for drinking hard liquor.
R. R.
I never miss a chance to visit the Horse Shoe.
A. B.
Always busy, always good
S. B.
A Glasgow institution...always a busy place, a good pint, bunch of good punters and staff... whats not to like...just realised I'd only awarded 4 stars last visit so I upgraded to 5... well deserved..
F. M.
Historical pub in the centre of Glasgow.
M. R.
Iconic Glasgow pub, always call in here when in the city centre. Historic surroundings, first rate bar service even when busy, famous lunchtime pie & peas or beans. More extensive menu available.
T. G.
Great atmosphere and nice people
P. G.
It's alright, some of the seating is a little cramped. They had karaoke, but the music was excessively loud to the point where the music was distorted. Plenty drinks to choose from, service pretty quick.
a.
Always busy handy for Glasgow Central station nice and clean.
D. N.
The Horseshow hasn't really changed in my 40 years of memory, and that is the main attraction. Large, circular island bar, seating around room, there is also an upstairs bar. Very traditional in appearance, but staff, service and customers have kept pace with the times. Lovely place to visit, not necessarily the best pub to stay all night.
B. W.
This bar must be the oldest unchanged bar. And is a really friendly bar with great staff. Over 100 years old and people return year after for the good company.
J. K.
Always mobbed. Never able to get moving around the bar. Good atmosphere and everything but I'm always waiting at least 15 minutes or longer to get a drink when I go. Good for catching games though
D. M.
First time back here for a number of years. Some things never change. Service, price, ambience, all superb and still so enjoyable, don't know why I stopped visiting but this will be remedied in the future. Give it a visit, you will not be disappointed.
M. M.
A great traditional pub in the heart of Glasgow. Locals and tourists alike. Food is hearty pub grub, not trying to be gastro. Kind of sums it up; it is not trying to be anything other than a good place to socialise. A must in the pub tour of Glasgow pub seen.
T. Q.
A gem in Glasgow. Popular with locals and visitors. Great prices. And if you want a snack, they do a Scotch pie and beans! I love coming here. Give it a go!
s.
Great staff and atmosphere
A. A.
Great boozer friendly service 👌
S. S.
Best Bar Ever!!! A do not miss if you want a good night out and your into Kareoke
J. F.
Luv it very nice staff thank u for the hospitality
K. M.
Excellent atmosphere, great night ,even for someone as old as me .. great wee place .
N. L.
Always go in here when visiting Glasgow from Newcastle, we were in two weeks ago around 12 noon and the atmosphere was as always great, traditional old boozer what more do you want. Back in Thailand now sadly but love my trips to Glasgow with this bar number one on the list as always.
r. o.
Great old Glasgow pub, great food upstairs. Great atmosphere to watch football
A. A. M.
Brilliant place for a drink with excellent bar staff and entertainment. A typical old Scottish pub and we just loved it.
Superb!!!
M.
Staff were reakky nice and drinks reasonably priced.
A. B.
If you visit only one bar in Glasgow make it this one. Popular traditional style bar serving a good choice of beers at reasonable prices. Handy for Central Station.
G. C.
A very busy pub and good prices fir alcohol
M. J.
Great karaoke spot! Upstairs, with waitresses walking with shots. The ambiance really was popping! People were getting up dancing and singing along to others' selections
P. M.
Great place staff are friendly
M. S.
Great pint, great staff, especially Colin. Good guy.
Still, always seems busy, but never long wait for a beer
B. N.
Restaurant service is at the mercy of staff shortages, food good.
G. T.
I've not been in this pub since 1985 when as a French Polisher, working for my dad's firm we done all the wood work. I have great memories of the place and all the tradesmen working there, it was refurbished for the Tennants centenary 1885-1985. I remember polishing that long bar top, l think it was the longest bar in Europe at that time. I remember my old man going mad with the painter's for not covering the bar top when painting the ceiling and speckels of white paint on the wood. A chap called Dave was the manager at that time and the food was great. I think after the Horseshoe we went on to do, it was either Lauders or McSorlies. Anyway enough ranting about the past I gave you 5 stars because I remember it being a great pub and looking at the reviews is still a great pub. Regards G Thomson.
H. P.
Pleasant enough for a pint or two.
M. S.
It's as stated, ok. Would I eat there again, yeah absolutely...would it be my 1st choice? Nah...Ladies, go to the restroom before you go...5 commodes in the place. 3 have broken seats & the other 2 are on par with airline bathrooms! Don't say you weren't warned. Kareoke, YES!
J. T.
Went into watch rugby. Lots of televisions. Quite busy but service was excellent and fast. Decided to stay for a meal. Mixed grill was excellent
P. H.
Another proper boozer, which is rare in city centres now. Great selection of beers and spirits, good to see it open again after COVID.
B. B.
This huge wraparound bar will have you quoting legends like a pro - there are tons of alcohol-related quotes emblazoned on the bar. There are tons of drafts - common and local - and even more seating. You won't have trouble finding a place to hang with friends to watch a game on one of the TVs. If you're into a different scene, though, head upstairs for karaoke. I'm not sure how often it happens, but it was a blast to stumble upon during our Eurotrip!
J. R.
The Horseshoe is a Glasgow institution. Usually you can get a 3 course lunch upstairs for less than a fiver, but the current situation has reduced the offer. The staff are very friendly and helpful.
L. R.
Lovely pub in Glasgow. Locals were friendly and helpful. Spouse enjoyed local beer. Beautiful old school big wooden bar.
J. S.
Football team night out , great buffet plenty of choice, great atmosphere for a Sunday night
T. K.
Cracking pub. Bar is supposed to be the longest in the UK. Great selection of beers and wines. However, was just too busy for me. Couldn't get a seat and took ages to get served.
C. W.
Busy upstairs as always couldn't move at 6pm
d. A.
Average selection of beers. Fine for a quick drink but not the most homely - very much a typical city centre pub. Could just as well have been in a wetherspoons or yates!
M. D.
Fantastic, old school, proper pub. Great pints and a super filling, good value, tasty lunch. You'll be ready for an afternoon nap after a lunchtime visit 😁
J. F.
Old world charm . Never wait long to be served and always a buzz about the place .
W. B.

Very nice Pub. Outstanding prices, good food and somehow traditional atmosphere. One Star missing as there is no service on the table.

Large old bar in the centre of Glasgow with food & singing upstairs. used to have the longest continuous bar counter in the world downstairs. Reasonable bar prices & a big choice of drinks.

Bar staff superb, accommodated our every whim, and delivered a King's feast suitable for watching a football match. Putting an England match on without flinching and delivering pint after perfect pint 🍻

Amazing place but if your going for a night out get there early to get a seat if your going upstairs .Downstairs very busy bar but with plenty of helpful barstaff on in this huge horse shoe bar(hence the name) you will not be waiting long and the prices are very reasonable

If you love Karaoke🎤then you will love this place. Can be very busy at weekends so best to get there early. Young and old both love this place.

Really good bar and karaoke lounge but really busy. If you don't get there early you struggle to get in to karaoke lounge.
Apart from that, great

The food was good, we loved the Kareoke. There was a ladies room issue but the HorseShoe responded & I believe they intend to follow through. Good customer service.
