Reviews of Nice N Sleazy
M. M.
Superb unpretentious Glasgow venue. Staff are tremendously friendly and helpful. The downstairs is perfect for small gigs, and has a great atmosphere. Recently had the pleasure of seeing Rob Heron and the Tea Pad Orchestra, l with supporting act True Strays here. What an incredible night it was too. If you can, then support grass roots music, and do it here
I. P.
One of my favourite places in Glasgow. Always guaranteed to have a good night here. Inclusive and friendly to me and my pals from the LGBTQ community. Great service, deals, and food too. Top marks !
C.
Student crowd, fair prices, but food is small portions for the price and extremely salty.
Staff are very helpful.
A bar you would go with your mates on a session, not a quiet chilled drink for food.
D. Z.
Great bar, great people, great venue. Easily one of my favourite places in Glasgow and bars in the world.
O. M.
What a lovely place. Great staff. Even the bouncers are lovely. Other bars take some notes please.
Queer Theory downstairs is always a highlight. The guys at the desk there are 10/10
S. C.
Such tasty food. I had the vegan katsu burger. The fries were fantastic, skin on, just as I like them, and the burger itself was wonderful.
Good atmosphere in the bar itself, mixed crowd, and mixed tunes. Will certainly be back again
C. B.
Fantastic punky bar in Glasgow with a big club/venue down stairs. Food is also served during the day. A fantastic Glasgow institution. I wish I could give 5 stars but unfortunately for how cool and accepting the staff inside are, whoever they have outsourced the security to have been known to be not very LGBT friendly in certain instances. I love the bar so much but be wary of the door men. Still love it but they can do better
J.
still a great atmosphere - food is a bit expensive but some of the nicest loaded fries I've ever had so worth it. (Full vegan menu aswell)
T.
Night club allows have good dj but busy at weekends recommended Wednesday and Tuesday 🥰
F. O.
Excellent music and friendly staff.perfect place to sit back with a drink, a few friends and enjoy the live music
d. n.
My friends and I visited on a Monday night and there was an open mic night downstairs. Really cool, speakeasy vibes.
M. W.
First time visiting liked the atmosphere the staff are polite and I love the decor with all the graffiti love the music definitely visit again
J. A.
Saw 4 great bands in one night and the drinks aren't too expensive
G. P.
Great night seeing Joshua and the Season's
E. W.
This place has an easy-going laid-back atmosphere... The decor on the walls are different, bright & interesting .Bar staff were friendly & helpful. Toilets are downstairs . Live music is played here 🎵🎶🎸🎸
T. P.
Average late-night hangout bar, small venue. Very little vodka in the vodka, lime & sodas I ordered.
D. W.
Considering half of Glasgow has a rule about solo people drinking, this was honestly the nicest time. Music was amazing, lovwly friendly staff and proper cheesy disco downstairs. Thanks so much for a lovely end to the week.
b. s.
Haven't been here in years nice friendly staff live band was good
A. D.
Excellent Japanese Food, menu is not extensive but what they do is delicious!
D. G.
Great live music venue and awesome bar. Food is really yum.
A. G.
I wish the loos were accessible but such a nice drinking and food place
J. M.
Based in the heart of Glasgows nightlife and entertainment District, you'll be hard pressed to find a better pub. cold beer, amazing music, fantastic staff, and regular gigs. what more can you ask for in a bar. by far my favourite hangout in the city centre.
B. H.
Went to see A young band "The Latitude " excellent!! A great night out.
F. N.
The name says it all. Great place for an intimate basement gig.
M. G.
One of the best bars and music venues in Glasgow. An inviting and unique atmosphere. Like catching lightning in a bottle. If you're visiting Glasgow this should be on your list of legendary places to visit. Live music downstairs from 7pm most evenings. Bar opens around about 12pm
D. R.
First time being here last week and I was really surprised I hadn’t been before. It had a great atmosphere and the drinks seemed pretty cheap. I just wish there wasn’t the seating at the bar because it was quite awkward to lean over people to order a drink, especially during covid it just felt a bit strange. Even before covid that would be a bit awkward
N. R. G.
I am just in love with the quesadillas.
However, the staff is not the friendliest, everytime I go most of them are just sitting and the person from the kitchen is attending, cooking and serving which is a bit unfair.
But yes, the food is amazing.
J. L.
Fantastic food, great variety and quality.
Excellent drinks and very friendly service.
Gender neutral toilets.
I started getting a migraine from the flashing lights and noise, and asked if it was possible to move outside. It wasn't possible, but the manager made an effort to come to our table and apologise for not being able to do more. They were very kind.
D. W.
Cheap drinks, never too crowded, music kept at a good level.
d. c.
Great bar...fantastic bar staff. Great music. Good mix of people with a nice buzz about it. Has a good food offering from trusty bucks
Downstairs is a good small venue for bands and club nights.
D. S.
A Glasgow musical institution!
Good food, cool place and a great wee sweaty basement venue!
S. W.
Quite a cool place and cheap but every time i went to bar they wanted a mask on despite staff wearing the old chin scarf. No need to ask for a mask at bar when whole venue is maskless. Really odd rule...
T. J.
Really cool pub. This place has great music, friendly staff and a fantastic drinks selection. The drinks are cheap and taste great. Downstairs there is a good venue, though the sound system on both floors isn't fantastic (only matters if you are really into that sort of thing though). The nights I've been to have been great. Never had a bad night there.
K.
Great vegan food and decently priced drinks.
J. J.
Brilliant bar, great music.
A. E.
Great music, friendly staff, and no pretentiousness at all!
A. M.
The place was nice but they're so understaffed. We had to wait for our pints for almost an hour! I felt so bad for the bartenders and servers, they looked very stressed.
This is maybe why we've heard the same Paramore song about 8 times in less than 2 hours 😂 if they didn't have time to get our drinks, they clearly didn't have time to pick a better playlist.
J. C.
Great music bar with a large selections of cocktails and £3.50 white/black Russians. Had a great night and shout out to Rory who sorted us out for the night!
A. S.
Genuinley couldn’t recommend this place more! Great prices and atmosphere. Staff really care about the safety of the customers (esp any girls who cld b vulnerable).
A. A.
Really cool and cheap place. Best for a night out partying. The djs were amazing. They totally blasted amazing music throughout the night. Waiting to party here again!!
B. G. K.
Love nice and sleazy. Great staff, reasonably priced drinks and always an amazing place for a boogie downstairs
C. C.
Great launch gig for James Edwyn and the Borrowed Band new album. Well looked after!
d. P.
Was only there for the open mic night. That was fun. Can't say anything about the bar upstairs, but the downstairs venue is cool. Dark but romantic in a rough way - but I like that. The bar manager seemed very nice as he was sharing pop corn with everyone in the place. Seemed like the manager, or at least the host organizer :) feels very welcoming.
A. B.
Best venue in Glasgow, Great music and genuinely amazing staff who made sure multiple times me and my friends are comfortable.
M. T.
Queues outside and inside at the bar were crazy, and we would have spent more money if we had been able to, but the disco vibes & crowd were great!
L. L.
Amazing small venue!! Went to watch The Decoy and Freeze The Atlantic there
L. H.
Great selection of beers. Downstairs for the gigs is a perfectly intimate venue that I'm glad I found by chance. The food is amazing, I was expecting re heated pub food but the standard was unbelievable. It is an essential stop for anyone visiting Glasgow. As a side note, the plastic cups being made from bio degradable material is a beautiful touch especially if you are conscious of single use plastics.
H. M.
Wonderful fun, lots of great vegan options and fun Music!
D. M.
When for rekt-fest it was amazing but small thou but was good for amount people on venue
B. R.
My favourite bar on sauchiehall Street. If you enjoy a more rocky grungey feel to your pubs then definitely go here.
A. F.
Cool place, enjoyed a nice pint of craft beer.
G.
Good vibes and really nice staff 😊
D. M.
Went to the pub with some friends in a weekday. It was quiet and empty.. The service was quick, and it is student-friendly. They also serve food.
They seem to have embraced the dark, dingy interiors and the graffiti as a USP. We quite liked it, and would definitely go again.
N. K.
Was a bit worried when I looked at the menu and saw that they don't serve burgers any more. But then I had a pulled pork burrito and it was maybe the best burrito I've ever had, so everything's fine.
It was also a really nice place to hang out and drink. Good music, at chat-friendly volume. I'm impatient when I'm at a bar, so I like that they stop serving some of the awkward drinks at 9pm when it gets busy.
D. M. J.
Fun place that's open late on a Tuesday serving whiskies and beers into the wee hours. Lots of graffiti and posters and punky bar staff - it's a great place for what it is (a cool and unpretentious, inexpensive rock bar for students).
J. W.
It was ok but a far cry from the bsr/venue it once was.
D. L.
Good atmosphere, excellent music and a decent selection of drinks to choose from. Prices ar more than reasonable and if you still feel like partying at closing time, there's a club downstairs.
A good destination in the town
T. E.
Always great, plenty of memorable nights have been had here, including my first Buckfast experience...many years ago. The music's generally pretty great, too
M. G.
You can sit where Scarlett Johansson sat, eat epic burgers, and even order Buckfast by the glass at the bar!A great music bar, Nice n Sleazy tends towards the art-rock sound, but it's a far cry from the old proper dive bar days. Food is good, the place has been spruced-up a fair bit, but it still has a hip vibe to it.Downstairs is the low-ceiling venue, upstairs the bar. Whether you're here to eat, drink, rock out, or just look cool, you can't really go wrong by coming here.
I. S.
Pleasant bar for after a gig, if you're lucky you might even bump into your favourite band. Good selection of drinks available and reasonably priced. Try the white Russians
J. P.
Great bar as always
C. H.
Classic late night pub in Glasgow.
I. H.
Sauchiehall institution. Got a vegan Mexican kitchen inside these days. One of the few places in town to get a glass of buckie
B. H.
Had an amazing night after the Fatboy Slim gig. Our tickets indicated myself and a couple of DJ friends could go to the Garage. However it seemed like we were too old for the Garage and were turned away at the door being told “we weren’t Garage type customers”. We left without argument, crossed the road and had an amazing night. Thanks, will return next time in Glasgow.
S. Y.
Great time on a Tuesday night with my partner. Good music, yummy food, and a fun pub quiz that really had us thinking and laughing. Highly recommend!
S. B.
Busy....
Noisy....
Decor is interesting....
Drinks were cheap.... was on a paid for night out so a bonus there!!
I. L.
As great as it has always been. I took a star off because i loved it when Meat Hammer were doing the kitchen. Nothing against Squid and Whale - I just thought the Meat Hammer offerings were THAT good! Not the place to go to impress anyone...but then do you want to be out with the sort of people who need impressed?!
F. A.
Lovely bar went there one night after the cinema with the little monsters because i thought if they're getting popcorn for £6 a bag I'm going to get a couple bloody pints to even the score. kids couldn't come in with me which is a shame but i left them in a maccy dees down the street. they can get a happy meal while im on happy hour Haha! got served a brilliant crisp pint of best shandy by this young lady (couldn't have been older than 17) who looked a bit like that lass who sings the they tried to make me go to rehab but i said no no no song...i do love service with a smile :)
S. G.
The tap beer was rotten and off, the head on the beer was about a quarter of the pint glass, the music far too loud even for a music venue and you had to shout at the staff with your order (all this is in the ground level bar not downstairs!) No wonder it was almost empty.
Or maybe old punks with tinitis need to wear ear plugs and drink elsewhere pre gig!!
E. O.
Great place to come for a good cheap night out. Prices are wbsoabsolu brilliant and the staff couldn't be friendlier. I always get a smile every time I go, and late night dancing downstairs! Can't recommend it enough. One of the best places to go on succiehall street! :)
F.
All round good bar with a relaxed atmosphere! Good selection of drinks!
b.
A really fun wee bar to hang out in with an absolutely amazing kitchen menu. I always look forward to the weekly pub quiz and, more importantly, the delicious Japanese food.
J. T.
Cool bar. I only visit once a year or so. It hasn't changed much in the 15+ years I've been doing so, and that's super ok. Chilled out vibe, usually good music, friendly staff.
J. T. P.
Nice and sleazy is the pinnacle of Glasgow nightlife. We all have mix feelings about it at sometime. Some day u love it, next time you're there you ask yourself why do you always get dragged there by yer pals? And also do you need new and better pals ? In any case you know it is a reliable place where you will know at least 1 person in side to nick a pint of
J. D.
Food was delicious, staff really friendly, very cool atmosphere and their t-shirts are awesome!
J. S.
Music pub and music venue. A good mix of people too. Saw Mondo Generator playing recently, ‘‘twas a good gig you could see the grey on Nick Oliveris goatee 🤘🏻oh. Yeah...
S. M.
Everything was brilliant except how long we had to wait for our drinks. Staff wasn't incompetent they were just lacking. 3 staff members for a crowded bar didn't feel like enough. Bar is huge and the environment downstairs was great
A. S.
Me and my friend were bothered by a drunk old man but the manager (Jamie?) sorted it out quickly and efficiently.
r. a.
Superb place , hidden gem , live music karaoke and so much more
D. W.
I love nice n sleazy. The decor is class. The dance floor is big and perfect. Music never fails and normally free entry. A must go.
K. A.
Food isn’t great and very expensive, but the nightclub downstairs is awesome with good world music
n.
Had fun playing here but the sound was not great. My band is a 7 piece and there was a 2 piece and a solo artist on the bill; all of us had issues with sound.
i. H.
Very chill athmosphere and decently priced drinks, i do think the music is a tad bit loud for a bar/club that doesnt really feature a dance floor and is more a place for conversation
R. H.
Great music, along with great cocktails.
S. D. R.
Best place to hang out with your Friends. It's got a nice atmosphere, good ambience and all the ingredients you need to make your night a memorable one.
J. M.
Went for a gig and had a great time ^-^ staff were very lovely
S.
Been going on nights out here for a while, always end up having a good time! Drinks are cheap and the music is good both upstairs and downstairs
R.
Glasgow institution. If you are here visiting make your way to this bar if you want to experience the good part of sauchiehall street. Also a good chance of running shoulders with some of the wonderful Glasgow music scene.
K. Z.
Just started to do this amazing kimchi burger, think I tried it early in production hadn't heard anything about it blew me away seen it featured on some blogs since. Good forward step after loosing Andrew Yates
S. C.
I love this place, nothing is to much trouble for the staff. They have 1 of the best selection of lager on draught, bottled beer and cocktails including a few Buckfast cocktails x
k. m.
Small, but a Great venue for gigs, music nice and loud, staff friendly, drinks average price I would definitely go again
J. M.
I found this bar/nightclub to be ok. Cheap entry price. An average nightclub. Nothing overly special. A good place to dance.
C. M.
Are you in anyway alternative? Sleazys is probably for you then.
Smelly loos. Great gigs! Late night dancing in the basement and good fairly priced drinks!
My go to if I'm on sauchihall street. Well worth a visit
S. H.
If you wanna dance and/or see some punk bands, this is it. Nice atmosphere for drinks or a proper night out.
R. C. P.
Great place to hang out with your mates and have all the pints you'd fancy no matter is raining or not. Good music and great atmosphere.
M. S.
Nice place for a night out. Free entry for students and the night will be on until 4am. Depends on your music taste
M. S.
Nice and cozy. Great atmosphere and friendly folk all-round!
G. C.
Cool dive bar and great venue for gigs.
C. J.
Anna is amazing, met us at the door and served us so kindly !!
A. H.
The music is interesting and the atmosphere is fun for the club nights. Gigs are always great here too. Only disappointment is the food.
E. B.
One of my favourite bars in Glasgow. Fun to go too and has a club style area down stairs.
R.
Used to be a better bar, full of hipsters now you can still get a glass of Bucky, which unfortunately is now a novelty rather than a drinking option
I. Q.
The name, *chefs kiss* it is most definitely nice! Sleazy however, perhaps.
A. P. P.
A great music venue original musicians
A. X. P.
Great atmosphere and music. I've watched some really cool concerts downstairs. Good vibe! Recommended :)
A. J.
Was lucky to spend a night here while visiting the city back in 2012, wonderful atmosphere, great music and I love the name
s. h.
Best Guinness in the shire
I. P.
Nice little place. I only saw the downstairs for a gig but the sound was good, which is what you're after at a show.
P. S.
Best small bar in Glasgow, diverse gig and night club culture. DIY till it dies, never change.
K. R.
Five quid for a Guinness is a bit steep. But good to be back.
B. K.
In this day and age where bouncers can and will ruin nights out sleazys has maintained the same door policy for the last three decades if you want a laugh with a good mixture of people and late drinking and dancing you could do far worse than sleazys
A. L.
Popular bar and entertainment venue. Good service. Came to see a touring band. Very good!
L. P.
Meh, full of weans but the music was ok! Wine selection was poor and majority or the cocktails have milk in em!😕
C. A.
Simply the best pub in Glasgow. Great beer selection, great food, great music, and awesome wee venue downstairs.
L. G.
Nice bar, friendly staff. Pretty young crowd. Not a fancy place.
R. D.
Good band space downstairs as long as you get a decent pitch early on. Prices reasonable and service good.
S. M.
Played many a gig downstairs back in the 90's , i like the vibe although it sometimes appears that the punters think they are significantly cooler than you.
P. B.
Decent little bar, relaxed atmosphere and they have White Russians on tap!
J. D.
Awesome food, great atmosphere and live music. Continues to be one of Glasgows best nights out.
W. W.
Amazing music at the jam on a Monday evening
D. M.
Great spot - try the White Russians, really good food too, and pitchers of beer. Love the grunge decor and music.
g. t.
Great bar, staff, drinks, food and one of the hottest dance floors in Glasgow!
S. A.
Classic student bar. Sticky black floors, banging music.
M. R.
Popular and well established bar with basement venue. Usual offerings with some craft lagers/ales available
S. D.
One of the best venues and bars in Britain. Not sure about the Buckfast White Russians though.
p. f.
Happy door staff
K. J.
Not a bad pub but the bouncers have a bit of a power trip issue.
J. C.
Really interesting (and tasty!) food choices, good music, friendly staff, not over-priced.
G. M.
Great atmosphere in a perfect sized venue for my friends first gig
M. G. B.
Nice place with a room down stairs when we find a band playing. At this moment is the best place in Glasgow
J. F.
Excellent small gig venue, with a good range of beers at the bar.
A. M.
Great atmosphere, friendly staff. Was very drunk too so I loved it even more.
J. T.
Love this place! A must go in Glasgow!
G.
Great bar great staff great venue and sells buckfast ...what's not to like
M.
Weirdly wonderful, but I can't put my finger on why. Great people behind the bar though and that's worth a fortune in anybody's world.
J. S.
The best for drinks in Glasgow, make sure you try the Buckfast cocktails
b. c.
Great place for a gig
C. M.
Good cheap food and friendly staff, get busy at the weekends and has it's own charm
T. M.
Good beer, great music but venue needs some work
G. G.
Haven't been to the bar but the concert venue sound was very unpleasant. Could not stay through the concert.
K. M.
It's a good wee place to see local bands and have a drink or two
S. P.
Very good place if you are looking for a dinner with music on background.
S. K.
Amazing vibe..never a dull night. So outstanding that it motivated me to write a sad review about it.
C. A.
Glasgow's CBGB. It's a little gross, a little dirty but packed full of character and ideal for a few drinks before a night out
W. F.
You have to love this place, absolute stalwart of the Glasgow music scene, best dive bar in Glasgow.
e.
Pretty normal UK /Scotland standard pub. Big neon signs make it stand out from the rest of the block.
K. W.
Classic Glasgow "dive bar" experience. Good music, pints and Buckfast in the fridge.
A. B.
Great Pub across from The Garage. Good for a pint before a gig
R. P.

Good food, good band selection. They have a hand for good Metal acts!

Music was meant to be funk and soul, but it was all 70s disco dance.
T. L.
Perfect place to hook up with dark strangers.
A. H.
This place is a good idea to hang out with your friends.
