Reviews of The Cock Inn
A. N.
I and my wife were in Gloucestershire for the weekend to recharge our batteries. We found this charming local pub and decided to grab a few drinks and a bite to eat. Wooooowwww! It was really good! We were a little bit circumspect initially whether to dine here or not, reading a lot of negative reviews about their food. But we were super happy with the food. My wife had their Soup of the Day and I had Steak & Ale pie. Both were amazing!

Dog friendly, we booked a table for a Saturday night. Food was amazing and owners lovely. The pub had a really good atmosphere. Wouldn't hesitate to recommend.
P. S.
An outstanding pub, one of the very best for beers and food. Excellent home cooked food with a superb choice on the menu. Could have stayed there all day, and it was so good we're going back tomorrow for lunch. The landlord and landlady were welcoming and attentive, and the decor is everything an English pub should be.

Absolutely beautiful place! Went today (sunday) had a pork roast and a chicken soup starter... well it blew my socks off! Food was amazing, so welcoming and friendly! Cant wait to revisit so worth the trip ❤ thanks again for everything!

Stopped here for a quick drink as we were a little early for our check in. Popped in again the following day on return from a day out. Had Sunday lunch before journey home. Suffice to say this lovely pub became our 'local' whilst in the area. Food was delicious, landlord and landlady were friendly and welcoming, drinks were cold. Thoroughly recommend.

Very friendly pub, with a great selection of drinks, especially ciders - can’t wait to sample the food ☺️

A warm welcome, fantastic service and delicious food. What a find! One of the best parts of our time in the Forest of Dean.

Very warm welcome. Lovely staff and landlord. Did not flinch when asked if Chips were gluten free and not cooked with meat. Answered easily and knew his methods. Not like a chain where they have to refer to massive leaflets. Will be back next week!

Beautiful country pub in a stunning location. Lovely friendly locals and very welcoming proprietors. Have plenty of outdoor seating and some (totally odour free) friendly gorgeous pigs (and cute little piglets) to meet/watch whilst your having your bevvie in the sun!

What a lovely pub! Really friendly staff and delicious food. We both had the homemade lamb and mint burgers which were beautifully presented with fresh salad and chips. Followed by apple tart and chocolate brownie. Prices were very reasonable too so excellent value. It's a shame we don't live closer as we would definitely return off we did.

Absolutely wonderful pub, came in as strangers and left feeling like locals. Cant recommend this place enough! Steve and Jane the owners are so kind, welcoming and lovely. The food is all fresh and homemade and is delicious. The locals are so friendly too, even to us welshies! Special mention to John and his stories and Steve and Sarah for making our night so much fun. We and our 2 dogs thoroughly enjoyed ourselves, pub is very dog friendly and ours loved meeting Laura's 2 frenchies, especially baby Vinnie. I really hope locals and tourists alike support this pub, as it would be an incredible shame to lose a gem such as this. Thank you all so much for making our weekend extra special!

Called in on our holiday on the off chance to be greeted by friendly landlord and landlady. Food was full of flavour nice gap between each course. Wide choice of drinks and varied menu. Price was no different than your chain pubs but had better service. Will be back next year for another full course meal.

Came here for food today. Absolutely fantastic. Fast friendly service and real value for money. Beautiful garden with pigs and ducks. Lamb shank was beautiful. I would highly recommend a visit.

One of the two bar staff was really friendly and personable, leading us to go again the next day, but on that occasion, the other member of bar staff made our family group feel distinctly unwelcome when they weren't noticeably busy. Fairly standard array of pub food options, sadly let down by a failure to deliver on a couple of tweaks to pizza toppings, and apparently by not restocking for a number of days apart, as the vegetarian options were whittled down each time we tried to return before giving up.

Always great prices 👍👍 …

A lovely cosy pub, with proper food and fabulous landlord and landlady. Stopped off in search of food after a long journey. The owners couldn't have been more welcoming. Food was lovely and my husband would have been more than happy to spend the evening enjoying the beer. A hidden gem.

Absolutely amazing food with lovely owners. DOG FRIENDLY!! This was the best part for us as our dog is diabetic so we have to take her everywhere. They offered us good prices to stay with them with the dog and were more than happy for us to enjoy our food with the company of the dog also.
The general chef wasn't in on Mon-Tues but we had food served by him and the owner and both times were lovely.

Had a great evening here. The staff were friendly, the atmosphere was great, and the food was amazing. One of the tastiest meals I've had in a long time! Nobody in my party had a scrap of food left or any complaints. Highly recommended! I will definitely be returning.

Great pub and the friendliest landlord. Let us in just after hours for a swift one. Nice guy and chatted to him. This is the perfect landlord and great pub.

A good solid 4 out of 5 for this dog friendly pub and B&B. Food is above average well priced. Staff friendly. Free wifi but poor coverage in the bedroom we stayed in - but worked ok in the pub. The family of pigs behind the beer garden were unexpected and fun to watch.

Prefect pizza and a very friendly owner, really pleased we stopped here on our way home. Drove past loads of times and pulled in for a pint and food, only serving pizza due to the time but it was fresh cooked and very tasty. Definitely worth a visit

(Translated) Cozy place, warm and characteristic atmosphere, friendly staff, good food, normal prices, for us Italians it is a bit expensive but the whole of the United Kingdom is.
(Original)
Posto accogliente, atmofera calda e carattersitica, personale gentile, si mangia bene, prezzi nelle norma, per noi italiani è un po caro ma tutto il regno unito lo è.
