Reviews of The Red Hart Inn
J. L.
We love the Red Hart. The pub is so English and a great choice of beers and ciders. We went for Sunday Roast and it was amazing! Everything was lovely!
R. H.
Fantastic experience, wonderful landlord and tasty food. The belly of pork was a big portion and highly recommend the chocolate brownie with salted caramel ice cream. Reasonable prices too! Large pub garden in a beautiful village setting.
C. H.
Went with walking group disappointed with menu ! plainer sandwiches would have been preferred too thick bread and chips too much. Plain cheese and ham on smaller portion preferred and definitely soup should be available all year round. Very friendly staff. Coffee excellent.
M.
The service is always with a smile and the food is always delicious. This pub has such a wonderful friendly and welcoming atmosphere too and it always seems to be buzzing. Best of all our dogs are also welcome. We love it.

I visited here on Saturday 15th October 2022.
The staff were friendly and welcoming. The menu has something to cater for everyone’s budget.
Great tasting food and well presented.
It’s situated in a beautiful part of the country. A great family friendly Inn, with a children’s play area. Dogs are also welcome.

We're currently visiting the area. Lovely traditional pub. Good choice of beers and ciders. Lovely traditional, tasty, wholesome food at very reasonable prices. I had Venison curry and Eaton mess.
T. H.
Cute pub way out in the sticks. Fantasic in the summer with a wonderful beer garden. They had some good real ale options on when I was there last. It can be quite a mission driving up the lanes to find it, but it's well worth the effort
R. S.
Only popped in for a drink, but the beers were great, Landlord and staff super friendly. Great garden for kids. We will be back for a local walk and something to eat.
D. B.
Had an excellent Sunday roast, probably the best we had in a very long while. Puddings were also delicious. Very good service. Highly recommend!
L. W.
Lovely pub with a great Sunday lunch. Good atmosphere and friendly staff. Will definitely come back.
V. T.
Cosy and warm. Staff and guests very friendly. Meal delicious and good value, I thought.

Quiet Wednesday evening visit. Fantastic belly pork, tasty apple crumble, friendly staff, cosy ambience, I'll be going back.

We came here on a Sunday (Father’s Day) after managing to get a reservation using Google reservations 😍. We were met by friendly and welcoming staff and shown to our seats. We opted for starters, mains and desserts which were all brilliantly made. The kitchen were able to tweak the starter slightly without a grumble and we throughly enjoyed our meals.. Almost having to be rolled out because we were so full and contented. Thanks very much Red Hart team 🙌.
P. B.
Lovely welcoming pub. Cosy and warm on a cold day today. Lovely food. Nice range on the menu. Would highly recommend it.

We recently dined at The Red Hart as a hen party group and were made to feel very welcome. The service was excellent and the food was delicious. Would certainly recommend as a place to go. Really friendly and good value for money.
D. M.
Great local pub, good food, good drinks, outside seating, beer garden, children's play area
D. P.
Had a lovely meal today, but had to say I was a little disappointed that we had no mashed potato and the parsnips appeared to have gone through a shredder!
Would have preferred veg to have been served in separate bowls as apposed to been piled on the plate.
My wife's desert was ideal for anyone watching their calories!
S. B.
Early Afternoon arrived for lunch just myself and my mum. Friendly owners lovely old pub women by a log burning fire. Food was good good well cooked and presented. Thoroughly recommended
L.
Great pub with good food. The staff are helpful and friendly. There is a great children's play area with the garden and ample parking. The village is pretty and quiet. A pleasant day out.
D. B.

Great meal here yesterday with my wife and my friend plus his wife and young son.
The service was really friendly and welcoming and the food was very nice indeed.
K. S.
Lovely rural village pub with large outside eating area and playground for kids.
Our party of 9 was well catered for with delicious Sunday roasts and scrummy puddings to follow.
Childrens menu available and staff were very friendly and accommodating.
Thanks to all 😀
K. S.
Lovely food pleasant surroundings and A really good host
R. S.
Lovely pub, nice play area for the Kids. Interesting menu, even has a more thought out menu for children than you usually see. Only reason I don't give 5 stars is the awful metal music they play inside, doesn't match the surrounds at all.
W. S.
This meal was a absolute delight to us all, it was booked on the Internet, when we arrived the welcome greeting from the staff was warm and friendly, we were pleasantly pleased with the extremely tasty food. The cost of the meals along with a small but fair gratuity was good for the quality of the meals. I think we'll all like to return at some further future time. This was our group of eight friends who regularly caravan, as this was the end weekend of festivities at the new year of being away for the new year and before a derby of BATH v GLOUCESTER Rugby at Gloucester we were pleased to have had a chance to sample the culinary delights of the Pub
s. t.
Lovely pub, lovely homecooked food and the people were very friendly, definitely a pub you have to visit if your in the area.
M. C.
I have eaten here a number of times I have never been disappointed. They have a good menu with lots of choice and a vegan menu as well, which was handy when I was doing a vegan Lent. There is a good choice of real ales and a wide choice of other drinks. The service is friendly and efficient and it retains the atmosphere of a village pub while also appealing to modern tastes. The food is locally sourced. I have known this pub since the late 1960's as an occasional visitor and I think it is in its best incarnation right now a local pub with quality dining.
M. T.
Four of us enjoyed Sunday lunch yesterday, the roast beef was excellent and plenty of it, plus a tonne of veg and a delicious cauliflower cheese. We were so full we could only manage two puds between us, both were super tasty and fresh. Great ales, Covid-friendly layout and smiley staff.
t.
This pub is in a very pretty area, with a large outdoor seating area it is ideal for the warmer months and taking in the local scenery. The device was okay, not overwhelming in terms of warmth and the food was okay, but I wouldn't be recommending it in a hurry. In terms of other local establishments of this type the food is slightly better, however this is not saying much as Britain still appears to be behind in the area of service of fresh healthy food in the restaurant or pub environment. I did enjoy the local selection of bitters and ales.
S. L.
Great food, excellent host
D. J.
Free bar made it good, but, from the staff to the atmosphere, it was a reel good feel, friendly staff, warm welcome from the locals, the food for the snacks was good too, it was a wake, but a lovely place to hold it
C. A.
First visit whilst on holiday. Nice atmosphere friendly and efficient staff. Although we drank wine and soft drink there was a wide range of beers on tap. Menu was not as extensive as some but food was well cooked, presented and very tasty. Access is via a narrow twisty road and car park has steep slope but negotiated with care not a problem.
A. R.
Decent country pub that has a good menu with lots of options. Service was a bit mixed but we were late arriving and at the end of lunch service, so fair do's.
All told though, was a very enjoyable experience, and good value.
Some decent ale too. Worth a visit.
I. E.
Decent. Might visit again if in the area
R. L.
Dropped in for a Sunday lunch with 9 friends. Food was fantastic, really tasty roasts and catered for the veggies in the group well. Friendly staff and good beers on tap. Would go again.
R. P.
This establishment came highly recommended by a friend. Super friendly welcoming staff. Real ales. Outside seating in a lovely setting and attractive play area. The food is gorgeous. There are expensive options and cheaper options to suit every budget. Given a follow on Facebook and looking forward to attending one of their many fun events.
D. B.
Lovely pub in a quiet village location excellent food and drink served by great staff, will be back soon. Highly recommended 🍺🍺 …
K. P.
Four of us enjoyed lunch here. Two of us had chicken skewers, one had gammon egg and chips Generous portions but it didn't stop us enjoying pudding as well. Good beers as well.
L.
Delicious food and super accommodating staff for my giant family
R. D.
Stayed for a weekend in one of the dog friendly rooms. The room was nice enough, the pub was excellent. Friendly with good ale and very nice food. The home made bread in particular was fantastic!

I came here for a meal and I must say it was very nice. A little pricey but i guess you get what you pay for!! The food and wine was nice and so was the atmosphere. A very nice country pub and would highly reccomend it.
The outside gardens are lovely Too!
S. B.
A lovely place to go for a drink on a sunny day. We were just passing through but the menu and wine list looked very nice, garden is lovely and there is a very friendly dog!
A. R.
Visiting from California and a local, Lucy, recommended this place. I got to try out the Sunday roast which was a real treat and a half pint of a local ale. Enjoyed the family atmosphere. I hope to return someday with my kids.
J. G.
Lovely pub and atmosphere, service was efficient and appropriate to the food ordered, presentation of food may need perhaps a little more attention to detail. Excellent pub food and wine.
T. F.

K. B.
Love the Red Hart so much, the food is delicious, the staff are warm, welcoming and friendly, lost count of the amount of times we've eaten here, best restaurant in the area.
O. B.

N. J.
Not up to previous standards.
Staff didn't seem happy, no smiles or warm welcomes and the food was way below par.
S. B.
Really nice place and the food and atmosphere was equally nice will definitely be going back there again.
P. F.
Welcoming atmosphere, friendly staff and good food and drink. Not much choice in the area but they are exceeding expectations rather than just taking advantage of situation. Would have given 5 stars but muscles were a little overdone. Rest of food excelled.
M. R.
Love the food and location and of course the staff/owners so will be back :)
C. S.
