E.First time in this Hungry Horse. It was quite busy on Saturday night,but we found free table. Nice, friendly service from a guy in the bar. Food was delicious,but my onion bhaji was not cooked inside,otherwise great meals. Great choices for kids meals and a very good price as well.

K. B.Visited the Grandstand for the first time this evening and we'll be certain to visit again. Friendly staff, relaxing atmosphere and lovely food. The rump steak was excellent and the peppercorn sauce one of the best I've ever tasted. Very good value too. See you again soon!
A. C.Visited on a Sunday, 4 adults, 2 children - no roasts being served due to broken equipment or something (fair enough). Typically of a chain restaurant, the menu looked amazing, sooo much to choose from yet it never lives up to the expectation, the impression is the chefs do not care for what they are serving you.
My partner tried to order 4/5 different mains to be told they weren’t available due to not having the ingredients?!
For my 2 year old, we ordered roast chicken, mash & carrots - had no carrots or mash?! So ordered it with salad, which consisted of: cucumbers and… CARROTS. Although the carrot sticks were that old they’d gone dry and shrivelled up. He wouldn’t of eaten them so left it.
I had a mini mixed grill - the chicken was nothing better than awful, fatty and rubbery, and 4 pieces of it. Cheap poor quality ingredients. The sausages had the texture of carpet, unbelievably dry.
A few other niggly things from our friends but nothing I feel enough to complain about. I’m not one for leaving negative reviews but kicking myself for not saying anything whilst we were there.
Service overall was okay, food was served by a pleasant and helpful girl.
In all honesty I won’t be returning here for a long while, disappointed on our experience, although there are plenty of good reviews.
R. P.We visited the Grandstand for the first time today and was really impressed with the friendly staff (who were very welcoming, showed us to a table and checked that the food was ok) and fast service.
The food was outstanding in quality and taste (we had the fish and chips/tikka chicken).
Will definitely return again.
