J. L.Visited Garbutts last night for the first time in over two years. I had been eating elsewhere but not anymore! I had all my prayers answered in one beautiful bowl of flavour and colour. The Teryaki Salmon 'Buddha Bowl' ticked every box, absolutely delicious. It was very busy but we didn't wait long between courses and all of the staff we're very attentive. Can't wait to return. Thanks for a lovely evening.

C. H.I had to go looking for someone to take my order, the staff were avoiding eye contact as they passed me waiting to be served. This happened 3 times, not one acknowledgement to say they would come back to our table. Food was nice, but staff need training to look after their customers.

s. r.If the service was as good as the food garbutts would be onto a real winner, food was unbelievable but as i say let down by the service had to ask for cutlery including a steak knife which wasn't given and had to ask. Also payment before food is kick in the face. Also asked for ID prior to ordering alcohol before a drinks order was mentioned which felt confrontational.

Food was very well presented and tasted fantastic and at such a quality price, the portions were really generous too. 2 drinks, 2 mains and a starter for less than £30 but at restaurant quality. 100% recommend

f. t. b. f. t. w.Went in for lunch with a few mates to soak up a hangover. The food and service was amazing. I had a ribeye cooked just right. Everyone enjoyed their meals. The staff were helpful and put up with us.
They also serve blue moon beer which i love

R. G.Great bar with lovely staff. Clean and tidy and even visited the beer garden that I didn't know they had until the manager came over and told us it was open (he was polite and friendly). The food we had was delicious too. They have a great selection including sweet potato or hallumi fries.

D. H.Expecting more, especially with a new menu. Went with a party of twelve for my birthday but despite only our table ordering food it took 45 minutes to arrive. And the steak pie had sold out even though it was only half five. The portions were noticably smaller; my sea bass (£9.50) was minute. No-one came to ask if the food was alright and we had to ask twice for sauces. I had finished my dish before my husband's meal was served. Serving staff worked hard but left feeling disappointed and still hungry.

D. S.Went for a birthday meal yesterday. Booked table in advance to cater for a large group. Good choice of food and drinks and a good atmosphere. Service was excellent too. Wide range of drinks on draught but the prices were pretty steep (£4.60 for a pint of Blue Moon) so possibly not somewhere to go for an extended session. All the food went down well although the burger I had seemed a little under-seasoned and bland if you took out the accompaniments (of which there were many!). My biggest grumble is that there are so many identikit bars in the area so the place just does't feel special.
L. H.The staff are really lade back and friendly. My food was excellent. The poster in the gents i think is harmless i don't see what is problem. A fella saw it and said it is terrible what if my grandson saw it i would of told him not to look at it or if he did make a story up.

J. G.Everyone else's good looked good unfortunately Garbutts havent bothered with the vegan market. Disappointed as not mu h choice and although they did allow me to choice off menu. I ended up with a burger in pitta bread with a small ammount of salad. Not worth £8.00.

D. P.I use Garbutts more like a daytime café than a bar, because I find it cramped and uncomfortable when a crowd is building in the evening. The food is pretty good, particularly the specials, with some healthy choices too. There's wide tea selection and quite good coffee. Service is always pleasant and not normally too slow.

M.This place can be a bit hit and miss I have to say I've had amazing food here and I've had bad I'm being honest but staff are friendly the music can be loud so conversation can be hard and I hate the way staff throw bottles into a bin it's noisy come on staff we are paying to dine and enjoy a night out or lunch with friends not to jump every few minutes at the loud crash I won't write this place off but it's not my favourite
