What an amazing pub!! Staff were superb, quick at serving and very helpful when it came to my groups allergy requirements and also made sure we were taking care off and always smiling! Food was served quick and piping hot, very tasty, would recommend the burgers! Drinks were fairly priced and the Jelly Baby pitcher was divine. Would recommend this pub to anyone, lovely spacious beer garden, what a wonderful establishment! Thank you xx

Being vegan eating out can be difficult but was very impressed with the vegan menu especially the cauliflower buffalo wings which were delicious. It would be really good to see vegan cheese as an option for the nachos but overall cannot fault our experience for my daughters 21st birthday and will definitely be returning in the future. The staff were also very friendly and accommodating.

Lots of places have changed over the last year or so. Goodfellowship has not, their menu maybe reduced but their service has not. Had a wonderful meal with elderly Mother and disabled Sister. Also staff were very informative, we asked about events that played out before the covid issue. Glad the over 50s is happening we will be attending, especially my 85 year old mum who loves to dance....with anybody......???

We held our wedding reception at The Goodfellowship on 30 October 2021 and we could not speak more highly of the venue or the staff, especially Andrew. Every appointment we had in the run-up to the wedding was fantastic, Andrew could not have been more helpful or lovely to deal with. Everything ran perfectly on the day, the room was decorated beautifully, the staff at the bar were lovely and Andrew and John made sure the day ran as smoothly as possible. We have had nothing but positive comments since the wedding about the venue and also the food. We had a buffet during the day and in the evening and both were brilliant. We also had a family member who needed a plate of gluten-free food, this was a last minute request on our part and again, Andrew could not have been more helpful, providing us with a separate plate of gluten-free food and also informing us which items on the buffet were suitable. We arrived and found our table, we had a little problem trying to use your code on the table so we opted to order our food at the bar. The staff were friendly and helpful. The food was with us in about 5 minutes after ordering and was to a very high standard. Would come back again!

We visited The Goodfellowship Inn for mother's day. On arrival what I assume was one of the team managers welcomed us and lead us to our tables and then ran around to find us a baby high chair. All with a smile on her face. The bar staff that took our orders was patient and very happy. The waitresses that served the food and removed empty plated we again as above. The food was by far the best pub grub I've had in a very long time!! The steak was cooked exactly how I asked for it (rare to medium). Everyone else had high praises for the quality of the food, not one complaint. The timings from starters to mains were fantastic and every plate was hot. I would reckoned this pub food to anyone, based on my experience.

A group of us who are Amateur Actors from various Drama Groups across the City of Hull meet at the Goodfellowship Inn every Wednesday afternoon, weather and Covid willing. Today we met up and one member said they were hungry and wanted to eat. We looked at the new menu and three of us decided to try it. We were looked after by Jenny and Lilly who served the food and drinks and I have to say we thoroughly enjoyed the meals. We are all somewhat disappointed that the Carvery hasn't opened yet during the week but fully understand that the foot-fall needs to build up first. So thanks to your kitchen staff and front of house Jenny and Lilly we had a very pleasant afternoon.

Excellent service, my friend said the scampi was very good for a pub favourite. The pastry on my vegetarian option was a bit heavy going but the contents of the pie were very nice. Delicious desserts. It was very quiet for a Thursday evening in November, hopefully trade will increase during the festive season. Stopped by for dinner whilst passing through yesterday and Really pleased I did!! A carvery for under £6 and it was amazing, beautiful creamy mash, perfectly cooked veg and really perfect roasties. Gammon and beef was delicious and cooked to my liking. I actually enjoyed it more than my local Toby Carvery.. Shame you're not closer!! Staff were really friendly too and welcoming. Came for Boxing Day, had a little trouble when we booked online, so had popped in on Xmas Eve to pay and rang with pre-order. Tasty meat, I had gammon, beef and turkey one slice of each. My wife got beef and turkey but got 2 of each . The Yorkshire pudding looked spot on but quite greasy, roast potatoes for me were a bit soft and not crispy how I prefer them but that's my preference. The carrots, pea's and leak's were fine. Cabbage that was left was very dry. Nice tasty gravy and mint sauce.

Went for a meal 14/6/19 for my daughters 39 birthday, 13 all together children and adults. Bar service none existent even though pub almost empty as mid afternoon. Food service poor as only one server on shift, actually felt sorry for her. Food quality poor I had gammon which was like shoe leather, fried egg more like hard boiled. More staff are clearly required in order to improve this place, as the staff, including the chef were clearly under too much pressure to perform to their optimum. Sorry for bad review guys, management need to sort it.

I had my partners wake in the fairfax Suite, it was clean, warm and ideal for the purpose it was used for. We were able to sit round the big tables reminiscing and reflecting with each other. I added my own little touches to make it more personal to us. I hired the private bar and the buffet was not laid waiting for us, it came out when we were all seated and the drinks and chat were flowing. The buffet was the silver one and the food was wonderful and what a variety. Eveyone complimented on the buffet. The food was fresh and plentiful. So my experience of the place was very good. Sometimes an experience is what you make it.

We went for tea on Wednesday to use the government eat out help out scheme. It was rather busy but we did manage to get a table. The social distancing aspect could be improved. A one way system is in place for entrance and exit. Plus queue for the bar was separated into food and drink or just drinks. Rather than two queues everyone waited in one until near the front where it split off. Therefore people could have been waiting for longer than necessary. Also when food was brought, they place food near to your table so staff are not near you. This is pointless considering the staff are having to pass closely to people waiting in the bar queue to put your food down. They may as well have just delivered it properly. The woman who delivered ours didn't even explain the system and left us confused to why our food was across the room from us. A little communication wouldn't go amiss... and a smile wouldn't either! She had a face like a wet weekend! As far as the food was concerned it was ok. Nothing particularly wrong with it, but also nothing to write home about either. Overall, I won't be returning back in a hurry. (At least until Covid has ended and they no longer need 'systems' in place.)

Had a lovely carvery last night. I had turkey ham and beef. My husband just had the turkey. All were cooked beautifully. There were every vegetable you could imagine. Cooked perfectly. We really enjoyed our meal. The chef that cut the meat for us was very pleasant. It was very good value for money. Will be going again very soon.

Lovely carvery although I would advise to go more lunch time as food is fresher. The meal and desert offer for 4.95 is brilliant I was expecting a lite meal for the price but it was a full size, great choice to choose from and for an extra £1 a wide range of drinks to choose from. Wow Paul the new manager is a breath of fresh air after the last manger. Been a veggie the have a veggie and vegan menu with was amazing had a burger of the veggie menu it was best burger I have had anywhere. Please visit as you will be in for a treat. Expected chain pub experience. Food was average but what most expect when coming to watch a game of football or having a pint with friends. I have had the carvery previously which was more like home-style cooking than some pubs. It is smartly decorated and there are many facilities in this slightly larger than average building. I have previously experienced a successful birthday event in the function suite before. What makes it a come-back-to place is probably the staff who are always really helpful and polite.

Warm friendly traditional pub serving a varied range of ales and wholesome homestyle food , that enhances the family oriented feel to what is a very busy local public house and social hub serving the local community area around hull university . Functions are caterd for by arrangement and the venue is suitable for all age groups staff are polite and attentive and cope well considering how busy this venue is at times due to it's popularity as a function venue.

Had hunters chicken which was burnt black round one side. I wouldn't have actually served. It looked burnt and tasted burnt. All other food was nice enough though. The màn that brought the food out was charming and lovely but the one that actually served me has a face like a slapped arse. I tried to have a laugh with him on 2 occasions and he just grunted and dismissed the fact that I'd even spoke to him. Not welcoming at all. Other than that will be happy to try this place again.

Daughter had her wedding ceremony an evening party there in a function room.Ceremony was lovely. We had a caterers buffet which was delicious. All night there was only 1 barstaff an he had to serve an collect empty glasses he cut the wedding cake up an wrapped in serviettes, he was brilliant an friendly.my daughter after all guests had gone what happens to the food she was told it gets thrown away which is understandable for the uncovered food. But the next morning when they went back to collect decs theyd also thrown away the wrapped wedding cake.My daughter is very upset as she an her husband hadnt had any yet ,an she wanted to give some to people that couldnt be there. Some guests stayed after the ceremony to have something to eat an was told there was an 1hrs wait for food by a grumpy barstaff person even tho the main part of pub was empty. I emailed Marstons before about a wedding issue an was told it had nothing to do with them as weddings etc were fanchises. We will not be going there again even though it is our local.

Food was mediocre, seven of us seated but the first were finishing as the last were handed their food. Prices were good for food and drink. The "Yorkshire stack" was nothing like the menu showed. It was three sausages layed on top of a small scoop of mash on top of two frozen ready made Yorkshire puddings. The menu showed an impressive food tower with the sausages through the yorkies. Overall a step down from weatherspoons.

The staff were friendly and helpful. It's been a while since I have visited Goodfellowship and couldn't believe what they have done to the decor.... It was like sat in a run down nightclub/kindergarden with a miss match of colours and design of interior decor that don't work together and has been thrown together. Its a shame as the pub has lost its welcoming and classic look. Come on Marstons get your act together and get someone who knows something about interior design... A kid could of done better.

Very nice food and carvery (if you're vegetarian you can get quorn sausages!), good selection of drinks and they offer 20% student discount! Always a nice atmosphere and friendly staff. Can also blast out your favourite tunes if you go in a pod.

Popped in for quiet drink after visit to relatives' graves in nearby cemetery. Slightly disappointed that Wainwright ales hadcrun out but a good sign for its brewers! Good, polite service, not too busy and TV not obtrusive.

It's OK got wedding booked ther for summer accommodation, girl on reception was asked family travelling from Sunderland am can they have room earlier to get ready, no no she said that's rules bride was told streees!!! How unhelpful is that when all our fam have booked rooms venue day and night, wher they suppose to get ready anougher venue that accomadates disgrace!!!!
