H. T.Both me and my partner stopped off for food and drink. It was the first time we visited. Loved the variety available. We enjoyed a few games of pool too. We both had burgers and they were lovely. Best we’ve had in a while. Would definitely recommend

The pub is not just for students, it caters for everyone. With a vast range of beers, spirits, cocktails and food, they have an option of everyone. Drinks are always presented well and taste amazing, and the food is incredible. From the tapas options to the mega mixed grill, the entire menu is prepared to the highest standard in a very short period of time. The bar staff are all lovely and willing to help you with anything you need.
J. R.Great spot to catch-up with friends. A really nice welcoming atmosphere, with low lighting. This pub definitely has some history but looks to have a good future too.
M. J.I love Gardeners Arms! you have a choice of the front bar, back bar with large screen tvs and pool tables and the beer garden! The food is gorgeous and excellent value for money. They have a huge selection drinks and they have special offers on everyday.

J. R.I have to say not bad at all! Really surprised with the food, I was a little apprehensive with it being a studenty style bar. But the prices were great and the food was really tasty. Spicy tacos were fantastic!!!
I was away in Hull for one evening on business and stopped by for food- staying at a nearby hotel.
A couple of things I would do/improve the customer experience. Just have a food checkback, nobody came to see if my meal was okay etc... And then the second just make sure that the condiments are fully stocked, all of the ones on my table were either low or had run out.
Good range on beers too and the new tapd in the middle looked very cool.
A. B.Came here for a bite to eat and a drink. We were sceptical based on the area being a student area but it out did any expectations I had. As a vegetarian I was dreading the food as it’s generally poor, but I had a veggie burger and it was incredible!!! Better than the burger I had at miller and carter and it was so inexpensive. 10/10 would deffo return :)
D. S.Food was lovely, we had a mixture of your tapas. The attitude of one of your staff was appalling. Every time we approached the bar he rolled his eyes at us and spoke like he was above everybody else. He was quite short with a messy stubble if that helps.
L. S.A great student bar. Cheap drink and food deals and 8 pool tables. Great to come for a cheap night with mates. The food is really nice! And the ale selection is good if you are an ale head. The front bar feels almost entirely separate. If you're not looking for a studenty vibe then the front bar has a traditional old-man pub feel. Great pub :)

G. M.This is a awesome place. Food is great, even if it is a little wait at times but that's only because one chef is cooking. Pizzas are to die for, so worth the wait! They have a lil master pizza chef called Alli and she makes pizzas that's worth your money, so cred to her during this heatwave! Reasonable prices on drinks and food. They have 6 pool tables and a good sized car park (I've never had any problems with finding a spot). Some bar staff are real friendly.

S. S.Great little pub, quiet when I went in to the venue however it was a Wednesday night, however I will say the facilities look amazing great pool table area as well as darts with a very spacious bar area and friendly staff. This has a big beer garden also.

D.I was out with friends for lunch one friend ordered a Salad which sounded really nice untill it came half was missing when asked they brought one item to add to it then asked again where the cuscus was they said they didnt have any and it was a different cook to who the usually have i think they could have explained this at the time we ordered not very good service from a lovely pub my friend rang them later and said how dissapointing it was and they told her to pop in for a refund this should have been done at the first complaint

C. W.Great pub. I've been coming here since I was a student ten years ago. The staff are friendly, it's safe, and the drinks prices are very low. 6 pool tables too, and of course a big screen TV. Recently refurbished too so all the furniture and fittings are nice and new. Definitely recommend, especially for students.

Great prices starting at £3.50 for a small breakfast which was plenty enough for me and my partner had the one at £5.50 which doubles everything including white pudding! Lovely staff, quick service and bottomless coffee! What more could you ask for :)

Best part is probably the beer garden. Really don't understand why they painted the outside the way they did too...looks awful!

M. S.I would give it 3.5 stars. The food was delicious, service quite quick and the staff friendly. A restaurant for families. Students will find the price a bit steep. But the restaurant is a bit cold. The floors are hard and nothing much warming. Shame the log fire is not being used. It would have added a much homely feel.
D. H.Called in for an hour of so while my son was playing basketball nearby. It was only 5.30 so very few people in. As always hit served quite quickly. Some dorks in playing pool and were very loud which is an unfortunate side effect in thus gaff. Still the rest of the ambience would always encourage me to go back. Haven't tried the food so no comment there other than to say a lot of people do eat so it can't be bad.

We were sat near a group of middle aged women who were vile and kept complaining and trying to get free stuff and got abusive when told no. The staff were great and we really enjoyed the food
M. O.This is a very large public house selling a wide range of beers and wines. There is a large and varied menu and many great offers. With 5 pool tables and a couple of gaming machines there are things to keep you busy whilst also offering a quieter side too. This pub has a huge car park and picturesque beer garden and situated close to 3 main bus routes it is an ideal meeting place.

R.Recently refurbished so we headed there to watch the FA Cup final. Lots of tv's to watch the game and plenty of bar staff for quick service. Food looked very good but didn't eat.

The best pub in the area. Not originally from Hull, but have settled here after attending Hull university. During my time at uni i visited mannnnny pubs in the area and Gardeners is by far the best! Not only for uni students but for anyone! Fab food, cheap drinks, and look amazing after the refurb last year.
The staff have always been great and so have the door staff. Will continue to keep coming to Gardeners Arms for the foreseeable future!

E. P.Drinks good price and 2-4-1 cocktails. Plenty of pool tables with a good variety of music. A wide range of people seem to go in here which always makes for a feat atmosphere
A. B.Good night out. Gardener's has busy and quiet nights. Busy nights have security on the doors. The front entrance is a pub setting and the back is a bar setting. They used to have six pool tables in the back but for some reason removed three and installed a shuffleboard. Lots of comfortable seats are available and there is a large food menu. Thursday is busy but really cheap and some nights there is a dj. There are televisions all around so you can watch the sport while you enjoy your evening.

J. W.Basically a two in one pub, the format but is the more traditional one, some seast with decent drinks, the rear half however is more youth centric place, with pool tables and nice food. The food and drinks are both reasonablly priced and is a nice place to go with a group of friends

K. S.Great beers. Not sure why it's been knocked through into the back room? Used to like to atmoshere in front room but now all you can hear is the thump of the music and roudiness from back room! Industrial grey colour scheme not very tasteful. Should've left things as they were.

L. D.Most of the staff here are really nice and it looks a lot better since the refurb plus it's cheap. However the food is still only ok and the pub itself is really dinghy and dark to be able to see your friends in.

The food was great but what was so disappointing was getting a parking ticket for £85 when we parked there was a lorry and a van in the car park so as we were busy chatting did not see the signs hence not getting a £1! parking ticket. There should be a notice in the pub or bar staff to highlight as it puts such a annoying feeling after a great meal and meet up
