Absolutely delicious lunch at this lovely pub. Cauliflower wings were the best I’ve ever had. Salmon was amazing, very generous portions too. My fellow diners had chicken tikka masala which I was told was excellent. Espresso martini was expertly made and service was very friendly but extremely professional. Visited the bar on a recommendation and very grateful for it! Can’t wait to go back.

Came here for dinner whilst staying at Raywell hall. The pub is beautifully decorated and spacious. The food was delicious and very reasonably priced. Would highly recommend

Sunday lunch visit.... very impressive options on the menu, all of party of 6 ordered different meals (Pork, Chicken, Lamb, Beef Pie, plus 1 child meal). The meats were tasty and the veg accompaniments were varied. The pub and dining area have had a recent (and needed) renovation. Good selection of draft beers and wine (by the glass or bottle). Made the most of the sun terrace on the the jubilee weekend, perfect sun trap with plenty of seating. We went for the lunch menu for a change and the food was delicious as always. The staff are friendly and accommodating. We are lucky to call it our local.

The Mothers Day menu online was at first a bit confusing but it was soon established which menu we could select from. What a beautiful refurb! Every space looks smart and welcoming. Very comfortable and atmospheric. Staff are extremely welcoming and efficient. The outside space is a wonderful addition, with plans for live music outside in the Summer. Very good menu but be prepared as drinks are quite expensive. Well worth a visit!

Had a lovely evening. Took two small dogs with us and booked a table in a quiet corner. As we were seated there were other dogs close to our two and one of ours started to bark. We were ready to leave as he wouldn't settle and we didn't want to disturb everyone in the pub. One of the staff came across and sorted us out with a lovely quiet table away from everyone else and our disturbed dog settled down. We stayed, enjoyed the food and enjoyed the atmosphere. The food came out in reasonable time and was fairly priced. Also appreciated that when ordering I was given the option to start a tab or pay there and then as some pubs now don't give you that option and just ask for payment each time. Thanks and we will be back 10/10

Good pub with good beer. Staff were excellent. We went on a Sunday afternoon and a full menu was available in addition to Sunday lunch. Unfortunately we chose the Sunday lunch. It was late afternoon which might explain why the veg was overcooked. However the lamb was tough and my beef was tough and tasteless. Inedible, I left most of it. One of us had the fish and chips which was good. Very disappointing. No, we didn't complain. We were being treated by a friend and didn't want to make a fuss. I know from friends that this is a popular pub. I'm told the gammon, egg and chips is good.

Food was really lovely, but the service was possibly the best I’ve ever had! We’re were served by James and start to finish it was excellent. We later went into the bar and had a great evening listening to Sam Dawson. Atmosphere was great just wish we live closer because this would definitely be a regular visit.

The only negatives were a reduced menu so lots was unavailable no Malbec the soup was too thick but very tasty, But that been said the service from the young man was very good, the food we had was very good and the decor too. James our server, whom has served us numerous times before is about as professional and pleasant as it comes and we could not wish for any more. The ambience and atmosphere are both really enjoyable with an absolutely excellent Sunday lunch today. They did everything in their power to make us feel safe and welcome . My Mum hadn’t been out for a meal in over 18 months so she throughly enjoyed it . We have only recently moved into the area from Manchester and this is our " local ". We have been several times and we have not had a reason to complain yet. The staff are polite, efficient and friendly. It's a "chain" Pub however the food is excellent. Again no complaints so far. Decent choice of lagers which is what we drink. No complaints with Erdinger or Estrella.

We were greeted by a young man called James he was very friendly, he led us to our table and gave us each a food menu. James ran through the days specials and we both opted for the Chicken and Leek pie, he took our drinks order. Ours drinks arrived quickly the food arrived shortly afterwards, delivered by a pleasant young lady who asked if we required anything else, I asked for ketchup which she promptly provided. During our meals James checked to see if everything was ok with the food. For desert I had cinnamon swirl my wife passed. James delivered the bill, I paid we left. A quick meal on our way home. Everything was fine my only slightly negative comment would be the pie was devoid of Leeks, having said that it was well filled with chicken.

I used to live around the corner from Wheatsheaf and go in a lot. To say its had its ups and downs is an understatement. I understand Andy, from my current local, is now running the pub. After seeing and experiencing the service, the ambience and the food last Friday lunchtime, I can see he's already made his mark. It's lovely. If you fancy eating/drinking in nice surroundings with excellent customer service, this is the place to be.

Ok, nothing special but high prices. They would not substitute chips for rice with a curry but added them as an extra. Nachos came and was essentially nachos with guacamole and lots of chopped tomatoes for £5.95. they eventually brought a bowl of grated cheese! Wouldn't rush to go back.
