F. I.Went in at morning for a cappuccino it was gorgeous, friendly bar staff, clean and pleasant
D. S.Came in yesterday day time for lunch pub wasn’t too busy at this time so found it easy to get a table, had a look at the menu and was spoilt for choice. Ordered at the bar and was servers by Michael, he was friendly and very helpful and all round chatty bloke. After ordering the food was cooked and delivered to me without much wait and it was as amazing as it looked.
I had a great time and will definitely be coming back again thank you

One of the staff Harry was mint, what a nice bloke, really sorted us out when we were ordering drinks. Very Customer friendly, what a good worker! M. R.Currently sat at number 32 with my Grandad on a day out staff at Yates are amazing! They can have a laugh and are so caring and kind for a pub. The pub is gorgeous and modern . Definitely recommend they allow children too which is a bonus x

J. H.Well after Yates took this over it had a shakey start. However, they seem to have pulled it together. This is a very busy bar & restaurant so we had to wait about half an hour for our food, we was told this as we ordered, so wasn't a problem. The place was very clean so not sure what previous review means. I guess tables can take a while to get cleared but as Its a gastro pub, they don't employ loads of staff so man up and move them to another table or the bar. We ordered our food which when arrived was very nice. Plenty of side salad spicy rice and sandwiches that were well filled. Cheap beer 2.20 a pint, real ale and house wine for just under a tenner. Clean toilets too.

E.Went in for lunch today, the food was really good value, ordered the five small plates for £12, along with some bacon Mac n cheese chips and just a standard chips, which came to £20 total
The small plates were spicy chicken wings, beer battered mozzarella and jalapeno sticks, garlic mushrooms, Quorn nuggets and mini nachos. Everything was nice and what you'd expect from a pub, besides the mozzarella and jalapeño sticks, or the sticks to be precise, as there was genuinely nothing in them.
The place looked reasonably clean and tidy however the chairs we initially sat on were heavily stained, a bit of upholstery cleaning wouldn't go amiss here, bar/waiting staff were pretty polite and friendly.
All in all pretty happy, would give 3.5 if I could.

Unfortunately the kitchen was closed when we came in but we ordered some drinks instead.
The same guy took our order and the girl with blue hair made them fairly quick.
The other members of staff didn’t really seem to be doing much which is a shame but overall had a really good night

C. R.Arrived at 12pm for lunch. Welcomed by staff member who updated us on the changes implemented, and also received a QR code to scan/web address to register our attendance. We were given menus and asked if we could sit in one of the small office-type rooms, which was no problem. We downloaded the 'My Pub' app, and ordered food & drinks. Everything was brought to us on a tray, which we then had to empty onto the table ourselves. The app was great as it showed what food was/wasn't available. Spent an hour here & would definitely recommend. Friendly staff, good food, lovely atmosphere and child friendly also.....

M. W.Four stars thoroughly enjoyed it. I have been here on a night and it's great for late night boozing in the city centre. But this review reflects on a day time approach to the bar, we used the app which was very quick and straightforward - good pint - nice pudding.
Here is where I get too the real good bit if you find yourself day drinking and looking for interesting facts.
The building in exceptionally old and the ceilings are seriously high. Which made me feel quite grand while slurping my £3 pint of carling in my joggers and flat cap the paintings on the wall made everything work together . I thoroughly enjoy this building. when you step outside for a baggy rolly cos your a little messy, you look up which not often peoples do these days (allways looking at phones) you'll see interesting emblems on the top of the building which will lead you to Google the building, you won't find much so you ring the old boy of the family who hits you with lots of facts.
This just fell short of the full 5 stars. Definitely go and defiantly spend some time and look at the surroundings in the building.

A little disappointed this Saturday afternoon, only one keg beer, but I suppose it's a sign of the times, no one willing to commit, thinking they could be shut down again, sadly. Sat outside and watched the world go by, can't fault the service, thanks girls. I love the Old Town, a must, when this eventually blows over. 🍻🤞

J. T.We went for fish and chips and the food was really good and reasonably priced. However, the service was not. Waiting 30 mins just to get a drink and it was that busy. Otherwise atmosphere was okay and both of us enjoyed our meals. Not big servings so may wat to have an appetizer.
D.Fun and friendly- seems managed and organised. Provides a one way system that works well, and table service to keep the bars clear.

L. E.This place could be so much better than what it actually is, the food is tasty and good quantity however after visiting a few times after the last time I ate here, I dont think I will again. Seems to be not a very clean pub. Toilets always seem to be disgusting, the sofas are falling apart in the booths and the tables was sticky and horrible. Even the flat screen TV's were not cleaned and could see it was grafted and never looked like it had been cleaned!

S. P.The staff are amazing at seeing uncomfortable situations and intervening quietly and quickly. Me and my friend was there a couple of weeks ago and a very drunk guy came over trying to chat us up and wouldn't leave, he wasn't been aggressive he was just enjoying his night and didnt get the fact we wasnt interested. The female manager stood by and asked if we was ok, told her no, so she went to get the bouncer, I told her they was not necessary and that we just wanted him to move, so she told him to dance somewhere else, which he did. She handled it well. This isnt the first time either, about a year ago they noticed on CTV that me and my friend kept moving from one side of the bar to the other a few times, and noticed that 2 older men was following us, they removed them and told us that we could leave through the back when we was ready to go. They really do look after people in there and it makes you feel safe on a night out. Ive never seen trouble in there when I've been in and the atmosphere is great. Xx

K.Not a bad place but very rowdy, not ideal if you want relaxed meal. The deals on the menu are pretty good, with drinks included etc, however, my meal was a little overdone and dried out. It wouldn't be my first choice to visit again if I wanted to eat
L.5 star service from a barmaid at Christmas wish I knew her name. Really lovely very professional and recommended a drink very well indeed.

Whilst there isn't much if any change in the place. We were sat upstairs and our waiter was called Richard. We had lovely food for pub grub and Richard made our stay lovely. He's a very polite funny young man with excellent manners. A definite credit to the company.

R.Yates bar, visited today, very busy bar but the staff were very good, bar staff and waiting on staff were very attentive, ordered food for four people, mostly pretty good, ordered a mixed grill with a extra portion of scampi, mixed grill was lovely, although the steak was a little cold but what was really poor was the the extra portion of scampi, £1.99 for 3 small pieces of scampi, even after complaining the kitchen said no you got four, which wasn't the case but even if it was £2 for 4 pieces of scampi is ridiculous, I would give the place five stars but for this, shame on you yates
