A lovely pub on the corner a short walk from buttermarket shopping center/car park. Walk in and seat yourself. The staff were very welcoming and made us feel very relaxed and at eased. Had a chat with us while we waited for our drinks. But didn't constantly come over to ask how things were (which we appreciated). A lovely range of food and drinks on the menu (prices not on the menu unfortunately). But everything was well priced. Their burgers were the best of the meals we ordered. You can have a double, triple or quadruple! Then add more toppings if you wish. They are served with fries or Criss cross chips. Not an overly large portion, but enough that we felt full after finishing. One member also ordered 3 small plates as the main. As a vegetarian they offered a large range of choices, including Quorn nuggets, sausages and plant based burgers. The drinks were lovely and we'll priced too.

Visited this pub last week as part of a pub crawl on a weekday. Loved the place so much we went back towards the end of the day in a much worse state than what we arrived in the first place! Great drink selection, fantastic menu selection at very reasonable prices. Friendly staff. Loads of TV screens showing sky sports, got proper into the badminton doubles match whilst we were there. Nice small courtyard for smoking in which also has 2 TV screens. Can't quite place my finger on why I love this pub so much but I do!

Nice pub. Unless I'm really hungry I might not order food again. Wouldn't be my choice to go for dinner. Pub grub at its average. On the plus side TV at every angle. Great for watching sports. Group area available if pre booked. Bar staff very helpful. They may struggle when it's busy.

I stopped in here without any reservations for a light lunch the selection of drinks and food was good with a high standard of covid restrictions throughout the building. Lunch was prepared nicely and more than adequate for the low price the only downside I had was the waiting time for the meal... I understand I may of arrived at a busy time period so that is understandable other than the waiting time... a very good service friendly staff good honest pub grub for reasonable prices. I will return! The meal I had was bangers and mash with peas and onion gravy with two extra sausages and a medium coke full fat for the price of £8.49

Good place to watch a variety of sports. Well positioned in town with food and taxis nearby for when you are done. I admit I've not had the food but it looks great. Staff are friendly. Great live music on many occasions. Especially after an evening of sport.

Great old pub in the middle of town. Live bands cheap(ish) drinks, live sports & a small outdoor space. Staff are friendly and makes for a different pace to the bars nearby. Well worth a visit sometime if you’re passing.

Great quality beer and really friendly staff. They've got such an amazing range of drinks. The spirits are wide ranging and exotic. There are more and lesser known beers for everyone. On a Monday evening there was only one person on staff so had to wait a while but they couldn't have been nicer. Really happy and chatty people there. Great location.

I am currently at the Plough, which I can't recommend highly enough for it's Covid compliance, warm and welcoming staff, great range of drinks and food, all at a reasonable prices. Special mention must be made to Andrea for whom nothing is too much of a problem, and is always calm and collected in face of any problems and awkward customers. I wish the management and all their staff every success when lockdown finally comes to an end!

Only ever been here for evening and weekend drinks, usually a good atmosphere and have bands on. Quite a chilled place say for a pint after work, town centre location by bus station is ideal. Staff/Manager always friendly and chatty when they have the time.

Lovely atmosphere and a proper pub. The pub has a warm atmosphere and friendly vibe. Gorgeous food and nice range of drinks served here. Comfy steating and a nice outdoors for summer. They have sports tv here to keep any sports fans happy. Toilets are easy to access. Only downside is you open the door to the actual toilet and not being rude but if you've put on a few pounds it would be incredibly hard to get in the door as it's very squishy. Which does make it awkward for pregnant women and parents who take their children to the loo. Otherwise this pub is a must. The bar area is a great design and nice to lean up against haha

This is a good old pub that hasn't really changed over years.. good beer, a good choice of pub grub on the menu and some really good bands, it is ideally situated write next to the bus station so very convenient for getting home after a few pints!

Fantastic pub. The live bands are a must on a Saturday night if you like live entertainment. Bar can be very busy on a busy Saturday night, but this really just gives you a good idea on how popular the live entertainment can be.

Decent selection of beers. One of the few places that shows live premier league football. Shame that the barman was so rude however. He took my bank card from me and activated the contactless payment without my permission and then turned his nose up when I asked for a receipt. We finished our pints and left to watch the football elsewhere.

Not to sure if this is a chain pub or not, the food wasn't great you will get better quality at a Flaming Grill or Hungry Horse and that's saying something. Hardly any of the decent drinks are not included within the meal and drink deals unlike Weatherspoons where everything is. I would advise against the chicken burger it was very overcooked and rubbery. The pub itself is located directly in the town centre meaning it attracts all sorts of characters ipswich has to offer (if you get my drift) would rather come here for a booze up than a family meal.

I ate a pie here. It was alright. Beer was well kept too. Waitress dressed as a sailor. Was a quick session as I had to catch a bus but would have stayed for hours otherwise. Prime location in the centre of Ipswich (near key bus stops) means you've got a real winner on your hands here.

The staff here are amazing but I wanted to point out the young lady who was greeting people at the door shes a real credit to paul and Michelle attentive really bubbly and knows exactly what shes doing sara is her name and I would not of hesitated to of hired her when I had my pub in Ipswich if she decides to pursue a management position I would say she would be an exemplary candidate i dont come in here as much as I used to but whem I do I always get first class service today was even better

Pub has been refurbished which is good apart from the women toilets. They are disgusting no toilet rolls in holders on wall on floor instead and hooks to hang coat on door are now above ur head above toilet which isn't very practical not only that toilet seats are hanging off toilet.

I had some time to kill so popped in for a pint, ended up with a pint and a burger deal. Its one of these bargain deals at £6 and some change. The service was friendly and good, the burger was actually a thick one and tasted like one of those home made ones, it was actually really nice! Much better than a Macdonalds, Burger King or Kebab shop burger. My only complaint would be i only had a choice of 2 lagers even though i offered to pay more to upgrade the beer, but cant have it all i guess. Well done the Plough, reccomended .
