Great beers, friendly staff. Also an interesting location. Well worth a visit. Apparently good music venue, but I'm haven't had the opportunity to experience the music nights.

I've always liked the Steamboat. A 'proper' old fashioned (in the best sense of the word) spit and sawdust pub which gets all the basics spot on. The beer is outstandingly good. The best pint I've had for over a year. I can't comment on the food but it looked good. The main thing for me was the brilliant service. The staff genuinely seem like a happy bunch who have a passion for what they do. Very friendly, helpful and efficient. What more do you need? Skip the large conglomerate owned Weverspoon type places and support a proper local.

Lovely place, staff are a delight and make you feel welcome. They have 2 covered areas outside and heaters. The outside seating area is spacious and very clean, They are also happy to have dogs in the pub and the staff were brilliant with the dog. Will definitely be going back

Good prices, nice service. Dog friendly.

Popped in there for Sunday lunch with some of my family, who eat there every Sunday. Unfortunately they do not do a Sunday roast, but I had the chilli con carne which was very nice. Just the right amount of heat and portion size. The staff were very friendly and a jazz group turned up after we had eaten, so we stopped a while longer and enjoyed the music. It is an "old fashioned" pub with atmosphere and unspoilt by modern updates. It could have done with a little bit of tlc in places though. Thoroughly enjoyed my visit there.

Always entertaining and authentic. Not eaten here but the clientele & staff are unfailingly friendly, cheerful & upbeat. The patrons dogs are always a good reflection of their owners and are clearly well versed in pub dog etiquette. Prices are good too 😊

It's a very nice pub

Outstanding atmosphere in the summer here, the beer garden is a hidden retreat you can relax in compared to many establishments in the area. Beer on tap includes Adnams Dry Hopped Larger which is always welcoming! The bar area is current undergoing renovations, areas that are completed look amazing! Brand new rest rooms and lots of seating.

Disabled & dog friendly for sociable dogs.
Keep dogs on a lead when pub is busy
Good range of real & artisan beers and ciders
Good pub grub - New menu - new kitchen under construction
Regular live music.
Right next to the river at front with tables, enclosed pub garden at back, sitting outside very nice in good weather.
Old fashioned pub inside, lovely open fire in winter, comfy armchairs

Great traditional boozer. Landlord really knows how to keep beer and cider, which is handy. Staff great, food is very good standard pub fare. I've been using this place for over four years without complaint. Oh, and Landy Andy does put on a very good DnB rave now and again 😎👌🍺☠️

The Steamboat's fine for a couple of pints if you're passing, and in the summer it's really nice to sit outside on the river wall with a drink, or in their garden. The staff are friendly, but the pub itself is a bit odd. It has music on quite a bit, and as such they never seem to get round to resetting the gig space to seating, so there's a huge blank space at one end of the pub. It's very worn out and the toilets have seen better days. With some TLC it would be a lovely little pub.

Grabbed a beer in a plastic cup and escaped the frenzy inside on hot Summers day. Used the facilities whilst there (after a bit of a queue); men's reminded me of a Glastonbury cubicle a bit, but the floor wasn't too slippy. Nice beer and slow but cheerful service - obviously not too bad since most of Cambridge seemed to want a drink from there 😎

The Steamboat has been at the heart of the local music scene for many years for good reasons. But The Steamboat isn't just about the music, the food is great and the bar is well stocked with real ale and ciders. If you like pubs like The Dove and The Fat Cat you will love The Steamboat.

Homemade steak pie and chips. Lovely chunks of steak in the pie.

Super friendly staff, the food is very hearty, turning into a good music venue again. The guest drinks menu is always changing so you can find some great ales and ciders. Also has a beer garden! WOOP!

Extended since my last visit (some years ago) which has improved an already excellent live venue. Friendly staff.
