We dropped in at this place not knowing what to expect. We grabbed a table in the garden and got lucky with a nice breeze. We ordered the chicken burger and the beef burger. The chicken was crispy, juicy and robust in flavor. The burger was moist, succulent and cooked to perfection. The service was prompt and friendly. We enjoyed the casual atmosphere and especially the outside seating.

Such a great Pub in Ipswich. The beer garden is lovely and secluded, you can enjoy the sun without huge crowds, unlike other pubs in the town centre. The food is always good, the small plates offer a great selection, and it always goes well with a pint.

Small, friendly but packs a huge likeability punch. A very friendly and enthusiastic welcome, with a fine selection of real ales (I chose the Eagle IPA) and a truly interesting menu. I had the Pork Masala Burger, a tweak on their Masala Sausage Roll, and it looked great and tasted fab! The Abor House is quirky without being pretentious, friendly but not intrusive, it felt immediately relaxing and I'll definitely be back.

We had lunch at the weekend and it was generally very tasty. The halloumi chips were great and came with a really delicious homemade chilli jam. My husband had a huge sourdough sandwich and he said the sweet potato fries were possibly the best he'd ever had. I had a beef pie and chips. The pie and chips were very tasty and the beef was tender, but the potato cubes in the pie weren't quite cooked and were quite hard. Other than that though, the food was lovely. Good selection of drinks and friendly service

The food was fantastic, if you are looking for a substantial meal 3 of their sides designed for sharing (£10 total price) counts as a substantial meal for 2 people and the food was absolutely delicious which I cannot recommend more. On the plate left to right are - Halloumi chips, chips and lastly soy chilli chicken. I would highly recommend this venue and I will he returning soon

We went here as a family of four, (two parents, a four year old and a one year old), on a cold rainy afternoon, after spending a few hours at the ipswich natural history museum. The place was clean and lots of tables available. Good selection of beers available and coffee too. The staff were friendly and attentive. The food was excellent, the "small plates" option was great and perfect for lunch time with the kids. I had the vegetarian sandwich and it was huge. We were all stuffed when we left. Would definitely recommend and will be back.

Booked a lunchtime table for 2. Everything feels and looks incredibly clean and safe even though social distancing is no longer a legal requirement which was a plus. The staff were friendly and the food was delicious and very reasonably priced with good size portions. Definitely a return visit on the cards.

Lovely outdoor eating area in two sheltered courtyards with heaters. Ideal, since a chill wind was blowing! We had great food and service. One of the first pubs to reopen in Ipswich with full week-round dining. They've set a really high standard of service and safety as the town opens up again.

Really nice staff....cosy little pub. Enjoyed the food. Shared some of the small plate items as a starter and enjoyed the lamb shank main. Crumble pud was a touch to sweet for me....but the chocolate tart and orange cream was great. Very rich, but really good. Drinks menu is good, 3 ales on the bar and decent selection of higher end macro brands. Would've liked a bit more of a craft option but that's just being fussy.

Lovely pub, warm and friendly and the food is top quality pub food well priced.We were up from London visiting friends and just popped in with children in tow and were met with a warm welcome from whom I presume was the Landlord.Our friends had a Vegetarian roast that they loved and we had the chicken and mushroom pies which were seemingly home cooked and delicious.Look forward to our next visit there.

We happened to walk past on Saturday after having a drink at the Greyhound, we had 2 small dogs which they allowed us to bring in. We happened to look at the menu, then decided to order (we hadn't planned to eat). The food was good and the surroundings very relaxed (compared to the Greyhound). All in all an unexpected yet pleasant visit. We will definitely go again.

They get 5* for their terrific vegan-friendly onion rings. But after visiting a few times, understandably my vegan family would now like a meal consisting of more than chips, salad , hummous and onion rings. Where you currently offer vegetarian options, you may find that making them vegan won't lose you any customers and may gain you a few.
