Really nice old cosy pub. Large beer garden with good seating and evening heater's. Very nice selection of real beers. Friendly staff. Can get very busy especially on a nice sunny day. Definitely worth a visit.

Everyone in Ipswich knows its the best pub. Huge range and never have to wait for drinks as there is enough staff at any given time which other places just don't seem to get. During lockdown what appears to be a huge amount of money spent on making the outside incredibly hospitable with manual heaters, cosy alcoves for 6-8 people and coverings. all kinds of features abundant that make this the best pub bar none in the whole town.

The beer choice is amazing. Always bringing in different beers on draft that you never see anywhere else. They provide plates and cutlery so you can order in a takeaway from many of the nearby places which is a nice touch. Big beer garden for the summer months and a small heated outdoor area for the smokers in the winter months too. Overall top local pub.

Great beer selection! So much choice. Won't break your bank either. You can order pitchers and take beer home too. Lovely décor and seating is available inside and in the garden. You can get takeaway delivered to the pub! They have plates and cutlery ready for this. Takeaway delivered to the pub! Sometimes the neighbour's cat comes to say hi.

Nice pub friendly atmosphere. Very good selection of ales. They don't provide food but the advantage is that they allow you to bring your own. Plates and cutlery are provided, all you have to do is clear up afterwards. I believe they don't allow food on Friday or Saturday.

Very friendly pub. The garden is lovely too - I find it rare for a pub garden to actually be a garden. Dog friendly 😀 And, you are able yo order takeaway to be delivered to the pub. They provide cutlery and plates and all they ask if you scrap your plates and they will do the washing up.

Great real ale pub. Staff always friendly. Never any trouble here, it's just a "happy" pub. Takeaways can be eaten here except for Friday's & Saturday's. Also, it's a children free place. Great place.

A proper boozer. The only food is crisps and (huge) scotch eggs, unless you order a takeaway and use the pub's plates and cutlery Sun-Thu nights. One of the best pubs I know in Ipswich. What is so lovley about it? First of all it has a great summer garden with many tables, an open grill and a wonderful cherry tree. Second of all a good range of real ales and lagers. Many places have a good range of drinks but few have such a beautiful garden. The staff is welcoming and friendy and the facilities are decent (Gents). If you're hungry I think you can bring your own food. If you're into board games you will find that they have few ready for you along with some books if I remember corectly. Let's be honest who's going to read after a few pints....?

This is just a special pub. Great bar staff, they are extremely knowledgeable and always welcoming. This is a fine example of the real British pub, the sound of conversation & laughter washed down with good ale. Must be Ipswichs best pub by far.
