Excellent food and service. This restaurant/pub is very lovely with an outdoors seating that is an ideal place to bring your dog. The customers don't mind it as many do bring their dogs and the restaurant provides a water bowl. The entire team of servers were very welcoming and friendly. They were simply impeccable. We ordered the lamb kofta and the chicken satay (can't remember the exact name). Both were perfect on flavor and presentation. The prices were fair for this quality food and superb service.

This lovely pub was recommended to us for a great vegan roast. And we were not disappointed! We were craving some veg after being away for a couple of nights and having mainly junk food and this was hitting just the right spot. The vegan haggis is great with lots of said veggies, roasties and gravy. The extra red cabbage was heaven too. I can only say: yummy yummy YUMMY!!! Super friendly staff too and great garden in the sun. 10/10 all around.

Visited for Sunday roast on 22.8.2021. Arrived at 5:30pm. Plenty of seating inside and out (although we did call ahead to reserve a table, and would still recommend that). Staff very polite and helpful. We had the roast beef. It was pleasant. Good value.

Excellent food, staff and atmosphere. Booked a table for a meal with my manager yesterday. I have been past the Greyhound hundreds if not thousands of times and never really thought to visit, however my manager was in Ipswich yesterday and as the location is close to our workplace I decided we would give it a try we were not disappointed the staff were friendly and polite the range and quality of beers was great and the food was excellent. We sat in the beer garden which is nicely maintained and set out and spotlessly clean and tidy. Our delicious meal was piping hot well presented served very quickly for us to enjoy. Many of our work colleagues visit the Greyhound so next time they are there I will be joining them for sure. Thanks to all.

Lovely relaxed pub. Went there recently for Sunday Lunch - photo of roast beef attached. Very friendly. Very good range of Adnams ales including Old Ale which I have rarely seen outside of Southwold. Some unusual items on the menus as well. Probably best to reserve a table at popular times such as Sunday lunchtime.

Fabulous greeting on arrival. We were quickly shown to a table and drink requests taken. The service is excellent here, with a great bunch of bar staff - really a pleasure to be served by them. The beer garden at the back is beautiful, lots of room and well maintained. We had toasted sandwiches which were excellent.

Wow, first time eating here in a while and I was not disappointed. Had the Beef brisket ragusa it was amazing. My mate had the steak pie and after finishing said he could easily eat it again. Great atmosphere and all round beautiful pub. 5 stars

Excellent pub and quality food we love using for special family celebrations. Love and care poured into the food and drink by the welcoming owners. Traditional surroundings as befits a building of this age and only 45 minutes walk from our home across the fields.

Probably come here every week for a pint or food. As a London escapee didn’t know what to expect from the area and to be clear this place on balance blows most pubs out the water that I have been to before. The owners and staff are extremely warm attentive and the food is consistently lovely and what you want from a country English pub. Basically, if you come to Ipswich and don’t stop off here you’re missing out.

Popped in for lunch today and it was very nice. The outside area has been done up so when they are allowed to open fully it will be very nice. Feel Covid secure so very happy. Food was a little slow to come but that seems to be the same with a few pubs I've been to so not marking down for that. I had the Bacon and Cheese burger which is home made and was very tasty, very pleased. Best Halloumi fries over ever had!! Can recommend them for sure. I had the Chocolate and Peanut butter brownie. It was nice but could have been a bit sweeter. Still very happy either way.

Hats off to these guys! Beautiful pub, indoors and out. Call to check the hours before you go, they change quite often and are posted at the front entrance. Weekly specials are quite lovely and right across the street from Christchurch Park. We will be back!

Splendid old pub that I've not been to in over 20 years. A sad mistake that needed rectifying. It's an Adnams pub, which is the main thing. All of their Southwold beers are superb.

The food was really tasty. We ordered a 3 course meal and each course was absolutely amazing, taste and presentation-wise. My only complaint was that there wasn't enough space to socialize (we were inside the pub) although they have more space outside. I would still go back if given the chance. I really loved their food. Absolutely lovely referb, the whole place looks and feel warm and welcoming. Staff were extremely friendly and helpful. Great new seating area outside with heaters and shielded from wind and rain. Guinness was lovely and food smells were incredible. I'm eating next visit.

Went for a birthday party, staff were pleasant, drinks were nice. Most had the Sunday roast which looked decent, the roast beef was pink and pork looked tasty! I went for the Lamb Shank Curry which was really nice apart from the bland sauce (I wasn't expecting authentic taste) but for £17 I expected some taste. My critiques are gets some decent chairs, replace that minging radiator in the men's toilets and be more daring with your flavor's if you are choosing to serve Asian cuisine, also the menu could do with 1 or 2 options extra to please larger groups.

We had a grand walk around Christchurch park and what better to do than go for lunch at the Greyhound. No waiting, we were able to get a table straight away. The steak pie, mushy peas and chips is to die for. You must try it! I am from the north east and pies are certainly on the menu, but I don't think I have ever tasted a pie so good as this one . Definitely a 10 out of 10. Go for a walk then visit the greyhound for a perfect lunch, or evening treat.

This is such a well run pub near the town centre. Good range of food, great staff and just a really relaxed atmosphere. Great for lunchtime team meetings or evening gatherings. Nothing pretentious just how a real boozer should be!

Great Pub. Yummy food & the booths in the garden were really lovely. Only tiny complaint was that they closed at 9pm & we had to be out by 10pm which we weren't expecting so we had our evening cut a little short. Totally understand its due to Covid just a heads up would have been good. Other than that completely faultless & really really lovely team serving food & drinks. We will 100% be back, so lovely to see everything opening up & the garden was really busy. Great menu, delicious food & very nice wine by the glass. Thank you

We had our works Christmas lunch here and due to COVID there were only five of us. The service was great and Christmas lunch was fantastic, probably the best I have had in a pub for years. Would definitely go to the Greyhound again and I don't plan on waiting until next Christmas!

Love this popular pub. Had a delicious Sunday lunch yesterday. Ate outside, which now is delightful. Fairy lights, booths, and lots of tables. It was always a small carpark so is great to see it being used as a beer garden now. Large selection of drinks. There is a staple food menu with daily specials. Staff Fabulous and friendly. The only problem was trying to find somewhere nearby to park. If you are looking to go here but don't live local enough to get there without a car then I would just say leave it unfortunately. Great pub, Adnams beers on tap, which are consistently well kept, I should add. Food is also consistently good, every time I've been. Children and dogs welcome, and the only downside is the tiny and awkward carpark, but there are other parking options nearby, so it wouldn't ever stop me from going there. This pub is a great dog friendly, great food and drink pub with friendly, helpful staff. My husband and me go there regularly with our dogs Coco and Layla. Breakfast on a Sunday is top notch with endless coffee and juice. The only thing I would advise is to book a table as they’re sooper busy.

My favourite pub in Ipswich, although The Spread Eagle is also very good. But the Greyhound does the best food. That said The Spread Eagle is more haunted. So I would say go to The Greyhound for food and The Spread Eagle for ghosts.

Was full and I had to wait or share a table, which surprised me as it was Thursday (I chose to share). When my food came I found out why it was so popular. It was excellent. A tad expensive but I've paid a lot more for far worse in posh restaurants. Beer good, too, and staff friendly and efficient. Well worth a visit but I'd advise booking in advance if you want to eat.

Both beautifully cooked/presented but more importantly (!) absolutely delicious! We highly recommend the Greyhound and all being well, given the current climate, will be returning.

I eat here every so often with friends, but today took my folks for lunch. Always amazing food, but I have only ever ordered a chilli cheeseburger so it was good to see different dishes. Chilli and rice was "amazing" (I can vouch for the chilli, it's better than anything I've ever made), Dad had liver and bacon which looked fantastic and was devoured very quickly! Two bread and butter puddings were lovely, mum loved her coffee. Very highly recommended, but get there early if you are driving. We arrived at 12pm and there was no space left, but a 20 second drive away there is two hour free parking on Ivry Street. And order the chilli cheeseburger, it's the only place I've ever been that I order the same thing every time!

Visited this fantastic gem of a place by chance after a long weekend. Very pleased I did as the ambience was warm, cosy and extremely welcoming with the few local drinkers including us in their conversation immediately. We only went in for a drink but the manager up sold a few nibbles and produced the very creative and original menu. Needless to say, we were sold and settled in for an afternoon and evening with local beers and a scrumptiosus dinner. The food, service, and atmosphere were all impecable and we stumbled out after several hours of enjoyment. Several memories created by the team and we will be going back as soon as possible and recommending to everyone. Well done guys, a great job done by all. Highly recommended.

Lovely pub, xlnt beer, food looked good but rather overpriced. Extraction fans need attention in kitchen. We spent 90 minutes there & came out smelling like a fish fryer. Washing machine under way! Shame, coz it's a lovely pub. Adnams Southwold £4.10 a pint. Tally Ho £3.25 a half. 😱

The perfect epitome of a great pub. Overall, the menu choices are excellent and varied, with a specials board changing weekly and a standard bar menu featuring burgers and snacks. There's a a great choice for everyone. Being an Adnams pub, the drinks selection is great, and it's always nice to see a range of guest beers on tap throughout the year. Make sure you take the opportunity to book a table on a Sunday morning for what is possibly one of the best cooked breakfasts I've ever had.

Good pub and nice food. For the food it's normally better to choose from the specials. It gets quite busy in the weekends so it might end up being a bit noisy and crowded but still nice atmosphere.
