This is a brilliant pub and the feeling in here is just so relaxing and stress free it’s great. Especially when you just what somewhere to chill out after a week of work. The food in this here is really lovely and the staff are extremely friendly. There are televisions in the booths for children to watch while they eat with their families. There are toys (available to buy) and little activities for your children to do while they are at the pub. However there is only one lady’s lavatory that has a lockable door and they know about this as there is a sign on door.

Visited this evening with a table of 9 without booking on a bank holiday weekend, almost expecting not to get a table at 6.30/7 pm however pleasantly surprised when we were seated straight away. We were told to expect a delay of over 50 minutes for food, again this was made completely clear to us by the bar staff and server and we were happy to wait. After some issue with the app when ordering, we managed to punch our orders through, some through the app and some through the bar staff. Again, we were so surprised when our food arrived after a half hour wait, and three separate orders from app and bar orders arrived at the same time. Good food which was hot and delicious and great price / value for money. Staff checked on us during our meal. It was clear the staff had been busy that evening and they were busy serving drinks and doing things all evening. Very, very impressed with this establishment!! Issue with the toy machine - win a prize every time- was rectified instantly with no attitude from clearly busy staff. We certainly will be visiting again. Thank you everyone who worked this evening. Very happy and impressed with every thing.

Food was very tasty. The staff were very friendly and polite and offered to swap peas for baked beans when we asked for no peas. The food was a little slow coming out but it was very busy. Surroundings very light and airy. Overall very enjoyable and will return 😁

Definitely improved from past visits the menu has an abundance of food and offers.they now have a core of staff who know what they are doing one tiny gripe is if your ordering the mixed grill there's no option for how you like your steak done. Other than that I shall keep returning as its great value for money

Always love a hungry horse, amazing value and large filling portions whatever one you go too. Thought we'd try the Ipswich branch. Lovely staff, good decor. They had their brand new menu which took some time to get used to but still had popular originals as well as brand new meals.

Great value for money, with excellent food, had the burger combo, which came with double cheese burger, chips, steak, corn on cob and chicken wings, had on a Saturday special for £8. I've paid twice the price for a burger that has been no where near as tasty as this one. Well done and worth the 5 stars

It's a nice pub, great garden and friendly staff etc but .... food was horrible, stone cold by the time it came to us. Had to go through two dozen sets of cutlery before finding clean ones. Don't be put off coming here as it's still a lovely kid friendly pub and if you get hungry just pop across the road to McDonald's.

Hit and miss with this place. Okay food for okay money but your be on for a fair old wait for food and drinks as your drinks have to spend time going flat at the bar. Fizzy drinks from tap are so watered you may as well just get water. All in all the food is good but more batter than fish, with the fish and chips. Amazing fudge cake desert though. How to improve... Hire more staff, there were 4 behind the bar and 2 it would seem bringing bits out.

Why do people say pet friendly when they can't go in? Pet friendly means you can take your pet inside, not sit outside with them. You can do that almost anywhere. I could park in a layby with my dog. Does that make it a pet friendly layby? Please stop leaving pet friendly reviews as others will turn up with their dogs expecting to get in. Can't fault the restaurant as there is nothing on their website to say they are, just the reviews. Can't tell you anything about the food as we couldn't eat there.

Have been here before and it was reasonable but tries to book as we were quite a large party. Garbled and incomprehensible answer phone but no call back as promised despite me calling again. Went elsewhere. Received a reply but it totally ignored my point. I had phoned twice and got answer phone both times but I neither occasion did I receive the promised call back. I appreciate that at busy times they might not be able to answer but they should call back when quieter.

Only stopped for a coffee. Seemed a nice pub. Will only give it 2 out of 10 for the mens toilet. Terrible..It says that the toilets are cleaned regularly. I suggest they get a new cleaner.let the place down as far as I'm concerned

Alright bar alright food. The only think letting it down is the Barman who was working the City-Madrid game was utterly useless. My grandad has hearing difficulties so I asked him to turn the speakers on by the projector in the bar. He then said “they should be on”. I then told him they weren’t to which he said “move somewhere else then”. In a packed out bar with barely any seats free this was not an option. It wasn’t just us as well most of the bar near the projector couldn’t hear the sound. He made no effort in resolving the issue and instead just carried on doing what he was doing. I don’t want him to get in trouble just maybe retrain him to deal with customer issues properly and act like he somewhat likes his job.

My friends and I went there for breakfast. The food was okay but the bacon is a bit burned. They unfortunately run out of milk that day so we did not enjoy any hot drinks with our english breakfast which we were looking forward to.

Nice meal, just a shame they ran out of the curry and beef roast. Fish and chips were a good portion as well as the bacon cheeseburger and gammon. There was quite a big delay in cleaning tables and when they first went over to a table they removed the plates but not the glasses and the drinks left over. Overall a nice place to eat at as the deals for the certain days are good, just a shame they didn't have some of the best parts of the menu for the deal today. Easy enough just to walk in if there are not too many people but if there is a big group it is better to book as two of the big tables were not cleared. Would recommend to families as it is a nice atmosphere with good prices.

It is alright, space for children to play, lots of food and tons of options, friendly staff, the food is not great and it can be a bit average, but generous portions, I would probably prefer smaller portions and rather more focus on the taste, so I am a bit indifferent. From everything that we had, I think the mixed grill was probably the best choice, most of the people were a bit disappointed with their food, everyone who had the vegetarian burgers were especially disappointed, but I was happy with my mixed grill. So it is a bit mixed reviews all round

Today we had a meal as a family of 6, 2 adults and 4 kids (age 4,11,12,14) We were seated quickly and also offered some colouring bits to keep the smallest busy but all the kids joined in haha There also a little play area which the youngest two were very happy with. Myself partner and eldest child ordered from the main menu and was given advice to go for one of the offers as my fiance chose gammon which was on special. Food arrived very quickly and customer service was also very good. All the food was lovely and up to expectations. Myself and eldest son had a burger, which I was impressed with was very tasty and filling too. The gammon was a little fatty, as it sometimes is, but flavour was very nice and all the kids were really happy with their nuggets carrot sticks ect. It took a little while for the table to be cleared ready for desert, but this was no disaster as the kids just went outside to play. There wasn't a huge choice of dessert, but they have all the basic favourites. All the kids went for ice cream which was great and me and my fiance had millionaire cheesecake which was delicious. In short it was a really nice meal and a very pleasant experience and a great comfortable place to have a family dinner. Pricing is very fair and it's just good pub food probably one of the better hungry horse places to go. I would definitely recommend trying this place for an easy family meal. I would have given 5 stars if the service was a bit faster and all the chips were a little on the dry side, other then the fries which were skinnier as they were nice. The mains were spot on though! And still very pleased.

As they are part of the Greene King chain the menus are all the same providing variety, plus there are different meal deals available for each day of the week providing real value for your money. The pub itself is spacious with ample parking and a play area for the kids

Decent food at good prices. Chicken in the new yorker wasn't great - I'm not expecting Michelin star quality, but The Crown at Claydon do it better. Overall happy with our meals though and outside space and kids play area makes the place in the summer.

Food was cold and had to wait for half an hour hence not the full five stars Adding to this review some 5 mths later. Gave this place another try because there are so many poor reviews of their food they must have done something about it, Right? No, it was worse, reheated sausages which couldn't be cut, classic salad swimming in dressing, half a tomato, which included root end, no cucumber. Child's meal the same, sent sausages back only to get the same again, no apology. Took half an hour to get food even though pub almost empty. That's it now we won't return until there is pride in what you are putting out of your kitchen.

Came to Thrasher yesterday as we do every couple of mths & never had a problem with food till now ,combo sharer was spot on as always ,but 2 of the other meals just weren't edible ! New Yorker chicken had less BBQ sauce than usual And the chicken felt wet when eating it ! Double southern fried chicken burger Bun was over toasted ,hardly any mayo ,no red onion chicken was wet to eat ,chips were hard & onion rings under cooked just as the new Yorker ,no one asked how the meal was going so I did complain ,still waiting on refund for one meal ...I will come back and give them another chance though

1745 - 1830 Thursday 7th October An enjoyable experience. I know it's an odd thing to compliment on but the garlic ciabatta was perfect, not too garlicy, not rock hard, not soggy. Gawd,! That sounds like the three bears tale.! I followed by the 12oz steak (yes, I was hungry) cooked exactly how I asked for it. Hooray,! Real chips, not French fries. (maybe after brexit we will serve real chips everywhere.!) I have to throw in a minor criticism, the dinner plate was cold making the food cool down too quickly. (easily remedied). But.......!! The ultimate accolade has to be the music, I don't know who picked the tracks, but they have my taste in music. Thanks to all involved. I will be back. Sorry, I couldn't post a picture, I ate it all.! Edit. The meal was not a one off. I returned, and the food was cooked perfectly again. and the choice of music was good too.!

Haven't been here in forever since Covid-19 started. I went with my mum for a daughter and mother meal. It was pretty good for social distancing, staff kept their distance. Some staff were wearing face guards however, the lady that showed us to our table wasn't wearing a mask at all and in all honesty, I thought they would only expect customers that were wearing face masks in come in but, the lady who showed us our table, let a mother and daughter (I'm guessing) come in and they weren't wearing a mask at all and she just let them in! They didn't even book a table beforehand (which I was told was necessary) and the staff member just let them in!! However, the food was great and delicious as usual...

My meal arrived without the steak, than steak came not cooked how ordered so got took back and still came back wrong so complained to manager who was unhelpful and just apologised for the mistake saying should have kept sending steak back till it was cooked to my satisfaction.

First time i have been back in a few years. The interior has been redesigned for better access and for more roomier table space. The staff are pleasant and serve well being polite, the bars have a full comprehensive range of drinks. Although i never had food this time there is a large menu with lots of choice. It is well worth a visit only if just for a drink.

The food was great! The children's meals were done so well, the build your own pasta was a great idea. The only downside to the whole experience was service was so slow. One drinking glass the waitress brought was cracked but the queue was too long to wait for another one. There were no spoons anywhere for the children's meals and again, no one available to help. Perhaps it was just a bad time but it was only 5.00pm.

Staff are very nice. Prices very reasonable, but food mediocre You kindly asked what we could do to improve the number of stars. My partner asked for his steak medium, but it came rare. All of our steaks had a lot of fat and gristle. My burger reminded me of the ghastly cheap ones my mother bought when I was a child that put me off eating burgers for nearly 20 years. Food was not hot. However we thought the staff were very helpful, especially with my partner being coeliac. He gets a bit disappointed that he can't eat chips at any of the chain. Popped in for dinner tonight as heard about the new vegan options. Was a little worried after reading the Facebook reviews but we were served promptly, staff were friendly and helpful, we didn't have to wait long for food which is a bonus with kids. The food was nice and hot and not overcooked. Great value for money and will definitely come again. The only complaint we had was from my daughter that the outside play area was out of order. I hope this will be fixed soon

Staff are always friendly and helpful. Always accomodating for people with all types of disabilities. Food is and very affordable, but can be hit and miss depending on what you order. Meat often comes under or overcooked and dietary requirements and simple menu requests (like "sauce on the side" or "no cheese") can be forgotten. Overall a great family eatery as long as you arent looking for gourmet experience

Service was friendly and the atmosphere is good. We were waiting in line for a while at the bar to order food because only one member of staff was taking orders on a bank holiday Monday evening. That said, from the time we ordered food was served promptly, was well presented and hot. The value for money was amazing. Five of us all had a main meal and the bill came to about £18!!! . There is an outdoor play areas for kids as well. Happy customer.

You have to order food yourself, for those who expect a waitress to come around. There are lots of toys and stuff for kids. Very good with covid restrictions. Food is well priced and well portioned accept for specifically the big plate chicken kebab. (which is delicious but is very small for a big plate) And the salads which is also scarcely portioned. But you don't go there for the salad. You go there for good portions. Delicious food and going with the family, which this resturant accomodates very well. There are certain meals i am not a fan of (the sandwiched pizzes in particular) That just taste like two bad oven pizzas slapped together but thats an outlier. All desserts are really solid and delicious. The wings are insane as well, cooked perfectly. The other starters are good too but the wings in particular make me go. In conclusion I highly reccomend this resturant to anyone to go. Though price in most cases decide standard so do not expect a flawless experience, go to miller and carter for that. Also the daily deals are a huge positive for me.

Have just been for lunch here today 11/11/17 whilst visiting my parents and I must say that since my last visit about y months ago the place has totally turned around. All the staff are extremely friendly and polite and the atmosphere was lovely and not too loud. This is a local pub/place to eat for my partner and me. Staff are always very friendly. With our son having allergies Staff are always accomodating in providing us with any information needed. Food and drinks are reaosnably priced, and wait times have never been bad. I think the longest we have ever waited is about 30 minutes, which some would consider normal. They have plenty of little toys and books to keep the kids enterained whilst you are waiting for you food. Would recommend to anyone wanting a drink or bite to eat in a place that is family friendly.

Well it's safe to say the Thrasher had a nightmare on Saturday 19th of Jan. Me my partner and my child arrived at about 6pm we was luck to get a table as a family of 4 were just leaving as we arrived. We managed to place our order with no queue at the bar at about 6.30. 40 minutes had passed and some of the other customers were beginning to get a little restless as to where there food was, we still sat patiently up until about 7.40 so an 1.10 after we ordered. This time going up to the bar the queue was huge with numerous people complaining and getting refunded their money. The bar staff had only just been told that they had ran out of chips. So approximately an hour and 15 minutes after taking my order along side everyone that came in after me the kitchen staff only just realised that they had no chips..... After receiving a refund from the front of house we were told that someone had gone to pick some chips up. I spoke to one of the waitresses who told me the chips won't be long if we would like to wait the food will be out shortly. So we waited another half an hour then Lowe and behold our food arrived. Now at this point I was just happy to have some food Infront of me because I was very tempted to leave numerous times but sat tight. Unfortunately for the Thrasher the food was still dreadful. With cold chips, dry pasta, burnt burgers, burnt rolls, over cooked steak to be honest the list goes on and on. I have to be honest that the front of house staff which the only name I managed to get was Micheal who was in the bar, the two young ladies waitressing and I believe a manager who was also serving on the bar. Well done to you for managing a very tough evening. All customers that left because the kitchen mess up I'm sure will say the same as I am that you all kept your cool and held great hospitality, all were very apologetic and waited to our needs as best they could. I will return here with my family because 9/10 times it's great value for money and a nice environment. I trust that the kitchen staff will be spoken to about the absolute catastrophic evening they had. A lot more attention to standards is needed and I feel a lot of customers will agree with me on that. Bad evening for the kitchen!!!

The best Hungry Horse in Suffolk. The staff are very helpful and friendly, the food is generally very good value and cooked well. I come here often and on the odd occasion of any issues (when very busy or shirt staffed..) the staff resolve it swiftly. Our favourite place for a quick family bite.

Its a nice Hungry Horse to sit in but you have to question some of the food. The steak was lovely, the chicken was atrocious, the kids hotdog meal was a sausage, not a hot dog, in a roll! 2 x small mixed grills and 8oz rump steak, chips, peas, grilled tomato and onion rings. This was the best meal our party have had at The Hungry Horse. My steak was mouth-wateringly tender. Cooked to perfection. Tomatoes were not those horrible hard steak tomatoes, more like a vine tomato and cooked to perfection. I asked if they had changed the chef but apparently the chef that cooked our meals has been working there for 15 years. I don't think he's ever cooked for us cos his food was delicious. His wife is a waitress there. This chef can cook! Give him a pay rise...it's the chefs that make a food establishment. Well done!

Went for lunch, not overly busy. One order came with wrong topping on fries, fish batter, while edible, was obviously cooked in fat that was too hot as very 'crispy' and very brown. Peas were cold. There were no onion rings on another order. That left one order out of 5 that was served completely correct and hot. Waitress addressed one diner as 'mate' as served food which is not really acceptable. No one checked back during meal to see if everything ok. Overall, was ok'ish experience, food was edible even though things were not necessarily correct.

The downfall is there is now no LOCAL cider. They took Aspalls off the tap last Feb and have now stopped selling it in the bottle. VERY DISAPPOINTED IN U GREENE KING!!! I don't expect Aspall to b on tap but at least buy it in so we could enjoy a quality local cider! I'd give u 5 stars otherwise.
