A busy Sunday and as expected had to wait food the food to be delivered and had the large Sunday roast dinner but it was tasty and hot. Only thing that was not up to scratch was the Mashed potato but everywhere you go it's a hard thing to get it like at home. The staff were all polite and very helpful. So I would give it a try

Never come here but after trying the food we will defo be back! The food was really good and there is alot of choice too. Great choice on drinks as well as soft drinks. A great amount of deals avalible too. Large pub with a large beer garden and parking. Our last visit we paid via tesco club card vouchers too.

This is a good pub for live sports a good selection of beers and spirits. The cleanliness let's it down. The toilets are not clean which makes me think how clean are other areas. Your standard pub food which could also be improved.

Had a superb meal this afternoon at the Lord Gascoigne, two for one burgers. Ordered at the bar and the food arrived very quickly at our table, piping hot and delicious. I had a Smokin' Jack burger and my wife had the Quadzilla burger, both fantastic with a cold pint of Peroni and a double Pink Gin n tonic. Superb value and even better because I paid for the food with my Tesco Vouchers! Very friendly staff and great service - we'll be back very soon!

We visited on a Monday lunchtime. It was quite quiet. The staff were great and the Monday steak deal is good value.

Cheap and cheerful meals with lots of great deals so it won't break the bank.We got the wrong meal and had to wait for a replacement which meant I ate alone hence the 3☆ review. The member of staff who dealt with us gave us a free drink and couldn't apologise enough but it still spoils your experience.It was quiz night which was Wednesday so very busy and noisy ....More of a place to go for a lively night out with friends than a place to go if you want a quiet meal!!!!!

Visitied the other week with my mum & son. Amazing values & prices on food and drinks. Theres daily deals on food & 2 for £5 on my favourite drinks! Cant go wrong Son loves the toy machines and hes a fussy eater but loves the kids meal burgers & especially the icecream mania!! All staff are so friendly & attentive cant fault them! Was pretty decent, good burger and good deal on a Friday. Only thing that stops this been a 5 is that it's a greene king pub and so if you don't get ice in a soft drink you don't get a full glass which to me is poor penny pinching.

Just been for lunch, party of ten, birthday treat. Food was average, but the meat was awful. We had undercooked steak, overcooked burgers which were too tough to eat and horrible chewy, fatty roast beef!On complaining to the waitress she was surly and said she would speak to the chef. She never came back! We had to clear our own table as no one came back to us! This used to be a nice pub but if today is anything to go by we won't be back in a hurry!

Food arrived within 10 mins. I had full breakfast . Bacon fatty and underdone, Sausage wasn't the best quality. Mushrooms all shrivelled. All cold. My mother's meal, chicken, was fine. Having said that, it's the first iffy meal we have had there. Staff all polite and friendly. Needless to say I didn't complain.

A 3 because I went for food and it was not very good. The onion rings where not cooked through and doughy, The garlic bread for my crispy chicken sandwich was the same, Tortilla chips half where seasoned half where not and the chicken wings where dry. The chips are nice and so was the barbecue sauce. They ask every person who entered to use track and trace and the place was cleaned regular and everyone was space out so it is a very Covid compliant place. If I was going to watch football with my friends and have a few beers as a sports bar not taking food into consideration it would be 5 stars. They have a massive well kept beer garden with an outdoor screen where all the seating is well spaced out , the car park is a good size and the staff are polite.

Have just been for Breakfast this morning with family. Very delicious, good sized plates and worth the cost. Usually we normally go to Wetherspoon for breakfast, but the breakfast at Lord Gascoingne was better by far. Good quality food at a great price. We will definitely be back

Went to meet my daughter and family for a meal first time since the lock down! Food was amazing and the steak offer on Monday is a fantastic deal! Definitely value for money! Staff were friendly and the safety measurements are in place!

Booked a table online & arrived to find a massive event on with live music, that was so loud it instantly gave some of our party a headache. There was no mention of the event on the website. I mentioned this to staff & they said the band should have been outside but moved them inside due to the risk of rain. I would not really call this a family pub on a Sat evening - most of the customers were around the 18-25 age. Staff were apologetic & we cancelled the table.

This is a great value family pub and although a chain this one beats the rest! The food is always good, unlike others in this chain, the staff are nice and heflpful also unlike others in this chain and as a whole the pub is clean and tidy. I would recommend avoiding match times if you do not enjoy them as it can be loud! Mine love to watch a bit of the game while also being able to go play in the lovely safe grassed area outside (just a shame the play equipment went.) Busy periods, such as after a game, can make the bar look messy as the staff strive to return order but they are still happy and happy to serve.

Amazing food and staff!! We arrived on a busy Sunday as we had a large party the staff were very helpful to get us all sat down and comfortable. The staff could not be more helpful with my disabled farther they helped him to the disabled toilet and made sure he knew he had the key. The food came out hot and tasted amazing. The deserts came and I fell in love with the chocolate fudge cake!! Will be returning.

I came here with my family for a birthday meal. The staff was ever so friendly and polite served us with a smile. Helped my grandma with pointing to the right deals as she forgot her reading glasses. Would highly recommend even if its popping in for a quick pint or a bite to eat. Felt very welcoming and everyone said goodbye as we left. Lots of different daily deals from food to drinks. Visited the Lord Gascoine earlier with my family and i could not fault the place. We had a few allergies within the family and the staff were very well informed and helpful with advising us on which products we were able to have. All of the staff were very friendly and helpful, even bring us over high chairs and tables when necessary. All staff made sure our evening was perfect and accommodating. The facilities were clean and tidy and the food and drink were perfect. Would definitely recommend the place! They even got the tambarene out to sing happy birthday to my nan No faults for the pub, will definitely be back again shortly

Having recently retired my wife and i go out for lunch quite often however going to the same old places time and time again does become boring. We looked round for somewhere pretty local to eat and having searched the internet i found the Lord Gascoigne so we decided to give it a try they also do smaller portions (Golden years) which was ideal. We're glad we called because it was very nice, the staff were polite the food was hot and cooked nicely and the cost was very competitive. When we were leaving i did point out to a manager behind the bar how much we has enjoyed our visit and we would come back. very nice Paul & Kay

Visited on Monday 22nd of October, we received a warm welcome and were seated quickly. The menu has a wide variety to choose from and the food came promptly for a party of 6. The food was very good and the place has a nice relaxed atmosphere. We were served by a lovely fellow who was very friendly and nothing was a bother to him or too much trouble. Had some poor experiences a few years ago here but our last 2 visits on a Saturday lunchtime and Wednesday evening have been excellent. Staff helpful and friendly and food has arrived piping hot within about 10 minutes. Good meals too. Usual standard for Hungry Horse pubs, if not a little better than others we've visited.

I visited the Lord Gascoigne on Wednesday with my family and a lovely lady called Mel served us at the bar to take our food and drinks order she was so friendly and really looked after us. we ordered curry as it was a curry Wednesday. The food and service was outstanding would recommend it to all my family and friends five stars all the way .

Kids enjoyed it.....don't expect nothing spectacular with the food......my chicken skewers were burnt and tasted like they'd been in microwave from last night......same goes for the fried peppers and onions - 100% come out of a microwave - they insisted not but that was an insult to my intelligence been a former chef myself..... I did send it back and received a full refund though in all fairness. Hopefully was just a one off as food used to be good here.

Visited today at dinner time (2pm) very busy, but still very fast food service. Ordered for a family of 4, we got the burger sizzler combo, southen fried chicken wrap, steak and ale pie and kids chicken nuggets. All came out really hot and cooked perfectly and tasted really nice. Even on warm plates. Check back came shortly after our food arrived where we was offered sauces. Plates was collected after minutes of finishing and desserts very soon afterwards. Staff was very friendly and approachable. Fantasic all round vist! Will definitely be returning.

Having coming to the Gascoigne for a long while now, when we arrived yesterday to find no play ground there now was a little bit of a let down, especially since my two kids loved that and it was something for them to do , however it is a lot nicer outside and absouletly gorgeous inside now it's been done out. I love the fact you have a new section just for adults and the food was brilliant. The staff were lovely and friendly as always, just a shame about the playground but I'm sure there are reasons behind it, but not to even have machines too for them to play on inside just nothing is a little disappointing for a family pub.

Love the venue and outside play area for the kids. Food is OK for the price. You get what you pay for. Some staff are friendly others look stressed trying to serve a full bar quickly. Toilets are disgustingly smelly with broken floor tiles, they want ripping out and revamping!

Very nice food, service and decor. I use a stick as disabled and found it difficult to walk up the two steps at the entrance from the car park. If no ramp, does need a rail to hold on to as I had to hold on to the large planter to get up the first step. Will definitely come again.

I visited pub last Friday as i have had glowing reviews of the establishment. I ordered a medium rare steak which was cooked and seasoned to perfection and as a result i will be returning on many occasioccasions to eat this wonderful fresh cuisine 10/10 from me.

18 of us went here 28/9/2019 for my partners sons 18th birthday. The food and staff were great looked after us all especially the birthday boy. Havnt been here for years but noticed it had changed hands so thought we would give it a try. Was a great day and night. But did wonder why there wasn't a play area anymore for the kids? Good - Ok, beer reasonable, both Sky & BT Sports. Didn't try food as the menu didn't appeal. My only gripe was a young barmaid who didn't understand the technology, the price for the same drink varied each time I went to the bar. Not her fault - she needed better training !. The manager told her that she'd pressed the wrong buttons on the till, but offered me not as much as an apology.... Nice. Would not happen in a JDW pub !!!
