Reviews of The Adelphi
J. N.
Time capsule to a bygone classic era of pubs. Many original features remain as well as a stunning mosaic entrance floor and period tiling.
Food looked and smelled amazing bit only came for drinks so cannot review food currently. From how it looks we will definitely be back to try!
Beer choices are reasonable and priced as you would expect.
Staff are lovely and welcoming. Thank you.
Y. K.
Cosy pub and yummy Sunday roast.
Was slightly panicking trying to find somewhere short notice for a Sunday roast, but managed to get a booking here. The Sunday roast was soooo good. I wish you could see the roast potatoes In my photo because they were 10/10 🤤 also finally found a place that adds stuffing to their roast!
Love this pub, it’s so cosy. Various rooms etc. Luckily we got one with a cute little fireplace.
P. B.
Very polite and attentive staff, lovely surroundings and atmosphere along with great food. I would certainly recommend and will definitely be back
S. S.
Entering my third decade of trips to the Adelphi and it just keeps getting better. Can't recommend this enough, they serve a great selection of beer, amazing food and they are super dog friendly which just seals the deal. My favourite pub in the city since the early 2000s.
E. H.
I booked a room for a surprise 50th birthday party for my boyfriend for about 30 people and The Adelphi were absolutely brilliant from start to finish! Email correspondence was prompt, helpful and friendly all the way through! I ordered a savory buffet followed by a sweet selection which was incredible! Definitely somewhere I'd consider for a bite to eat anytime! All of the staff were tremendously friendly and accommodating. With it being a dog friendly pub we were able to bring our dog too which just made it! The Adelphi were able to provide a dog bowl for some water and they have a tub of complementary dog biscuits which he thoroughly enjoyed! I cannot fault The Adelphi. They have been absolutely incredible, reasonably priced and, above all else, friendly. We will definitely be back!!

Classic pub, best place in leeds for a pint before the match. The inside is a great traditional style bar with a clean and bustling atmosphere.
Has all facilities and plenty of dining space, including extra seating upstairs which you can reserve. I've had lunch burgers and a Sunday Roast and both were pretty good.
G. M.
Delightful! Dan's tipple recommendation on entry, a load of Marks juicy meat and Daves attentive nature at he bar - I'll be back..

This pub is fantastic old fashioned decor . Never been before but definitely will go again. Myself and my partner visited we are both in our 50s it was great to have a pub not full of young ones ( no disrespect to young ones as we were all young once). I loved the original decor and individual rooms the original bevel glass was amazing. We were in a room with an open lit fire and there are candles on every table which was lovely as there was low lightening I guess to make you feel you were in a Victorian pub. We didn't dine there but menu looked amazing reasonably priced. And best of all they had Aspal cider. See you again very soon.
M. A. W.
we love the Adelphi experience. Without a doubt a nice place to celebrate with friends
H. W.
Went for lunch and was very impressed with the steak and ale pie . It was a proper pie, not just a pastry topping and the chips and veg were both top notch. I had the malbec and my son an ale and we were both very happy. Would definitely recommend
k.
Nice pub, with friendly staff, reasonable prices and good atmosphere
M. G. P.
Went there with a booked group with buffer. They reserved a while room for us and gave us SOOO much delicious food! I did miss some more veggie options, as for non meat eaters we had simply salads, baked potatoes, chips and nachos, very good sides, but I missed a main ( like a veggie burguer or vegan chicken etc). Also for the drinks you had to wait a bit, but to be fair was a Saturday on a pub.
C. M.
Great beer, iconic pub and the staff are always welcoming and friendly. Highly recommend. Nice easy app if you want to book a table too.
A. N.
Great pub. Staff were amazing and food was lush. Booked it for a baby shower and it was the perfect venue :) highly recommend!
M. C.
This is a fantastic place! A dog friendly boozer in Leeds, very much with the same vibe as The Philharmonic Rooms in Liverpool. I highly recommend a visit!
J.
I really like this old Leeds pub have been using it since I was a teenager.
Traditional and guest ales.
Good food and pub atmosphere. Highly recommended...JDG
J. H.
Great original pub in the heart of Leeds. Sunday lunch was nice - veg options available and love the traditional feel of it inside.
M. T.
Lovely food and very friendly helpful staff. Would definitely recommend to someone. They also have a good bar range and specialise in Sherry.
S. C.
Lovely pub. I'd affectionately call it a newly furbished old man pub. Good beer, lovely staff. I'd recommend the Sunday lunch.
D. I.
Used their function room upstairs with about sixty people: absolutely perfect. Good staff, good food and good pricing. Highly recommend.
M. H.
We hadn't booked but we were given a table and booked lunch which was very good quality and tasted great. Staff so helpful and friendly nothing too much trouble , very friendly and very professional
J. j.
Good old fashioned pub, can't complain at all. A little walk from other establishments but definitely worth it.
r.
A massive old pub in Leeds City Centre. Kept in it's original form but badly in need of a refurb. A lot of the upholstery was ripped and it generally looked in need of some TLC.
D. M. (.
Really good, my drunken friend got us talking to some guys from Manchester way who were pretty cool - big up(!) John sma and the solicitor guy .
F. P.
Good range of beers with Tetleys in great form. Also ate well thoroughly enjoyed my burger
C. S.
Went here recently to eat, was very impressed..food was excellent. Service was great especially Kelly who was very friendly and helpful..an asset to the company.
D. S. P.
Interior is nice and old school, service is average and the prices are above average but with that, you tend not to get hooligans in the place.
g.
Very nice bar and the staff were very friendly,a great selection of beverages available as well
E. M.
The food took almost an hour to arrive and it wasn't the warmest. We got the roasts and they were really nice and a big portion size too.
A family with a dog came in not long after us and ended up being so loud we didn't stick around for dessert.
Hopefully we will visit in the summer with our own dogs now we know they might be welcome too.
C. F.
Old Tetley Brewery pub, with classic decor, good food and wide slection of beers Draft and bottled. Small outside seating area to the rear. Great for lunch
j. n.
Popped in for beer and eats. Glad I did, it was an enjoyable afternoon repast., with Matt and Jack on hand to keep drinks full and getting the food to the table in a timely manner. Would certainly go again.
S. B.
There last night (Saturday) at works do.
Could not have been happier with the service and the booking procedure, I am told by the organiser, was simple and backed up with confirmation of individual orders.
Could not find fault with anything and it left us all having great reunion.
Good food, Good Drinks, great evening.
I. J.
Great beer, long wait to get served though, even though it was quiet. Understaffed.
C. x.
Great atmosphere and fantastic service. Really nice spot in Leeds with good food and drinks menus. We'll be back very soon!
J. R.
It was our first time here , what a great dinner and a few pints! we have a 2 year old and she was really welcomed ! The food was lovely! Debbie made it all a great carry on! We will be coming back ! Proper pub how they should feel !Thankyou.
M. D.
Great beer, great food, great service ... Great pub .... What more to say! 😁
A. B.
Bar snack food and lager really good and filling, well worth it.
Staff are very helpfull
A. R.
Comfortable pub with good real ales and friendly staff.
J. R.
Served by manager blake. Top bloke, made me feel very welcome. Could speak to him for hours!
U. T.
We love The Adelphi! It's our go to for a company Christmas meal in Leeds. We also recently used their upstairs function room for our artist inductions. The hire price was super reasonable, they looked after us, accommodated additional requests on the day and everyone commented on how amazing the food and drink was. Big thanks to Jack, Samuel and the rest of the Adelphi team!
L. S.
This place is ace, I had the vegetarian burger. Absolutely delicious they have obviously put real effort into the food. The staff were very friendly.
S. R.
H ad a wonderful Sunday roast here this afternoon - best we’ve had in the UK! Lovely old pub with great food and atmosphere, and fantastic service. Special thanks to Dave, Jack and Connor for your wonderful hospitality!
K. E.
Really nice place, went for a mates birthday got served by Matt and Jack. They did a good job and food was tasty.
A. P.
Really great boozer. Traditional pub decor and feel, but clean and with a diverse clientèle unlike many traditional-style pubs.
B. W.
Beautiful pub with amazing grub and a great selection of beers. Excellent staff to boot!
D. S.
Superb venue. Great atmosphere. My daughter had her wedding reception here. Great food was served. Piping hot!
K. K.
Stunning pub with beautiful interior decor and the food is excellent and very well priced
R. S.
Nice chilled atmosphere, friendly staff and the food is always top rate and reasonably priced.
M. “. B.
As a Leeds resident I can honestly say this is the best Sunday dinner you'll get in the city centre (even if it's a few minutes walk). Well worth the money and an excellent range of local and international beers
R. d. S.
Great typical Yorkshire British pub.
Good food and great selection of craft beer.
Good for business lunch, often there are deals, watch out for that.
The craft beer selection are always good and it get updated every so often.
I like and recommend.

T. C.
Absolutely brilliant pub and one of the best atmospheres in Leeds. Superb mix of people and great vibe
M. S.
We've been going regularly on a Tuesday night for the pub quiz. Jack does a brilliant job as quizmaster, chatting with people and making it fun.
All the staff are friendly, the building is beautiful and food is super.
M. C.
Stunning pub! A beautiful example of a victorian pub with a huge number of original features still intact. Stunning to look at, great, efficient and friendly service. The staff were extremely knowledgeable and very efficient. The food was of great quality but was, in my opinion, a little overpriced hence the loss of a star. If the food was priced more reasonably, I would have given 5 stars without hesitation!
J. W.
Expensive for food and drink. Not the most welcoming staff. £26 for a sharer plate which was nice but lacked quantity for the price.
D. M. d. C.
Arrived in Leeds on our narrowboat the other day, we're staying for the winter to explore the city. Found this gem of a pub on our first night and went for Sunday lunch. The nut roast was brilliant, with almonds in the crust - lush. Tasty beer and a few minutes walk from the Tetley - once the brewery, now an art gallery. An excellent start to our Leeds adventure!
D. N.
Very well kept pub with the interior decor as it was when originally built. Each room is seperate out which gives a lovely cosy feeling, top this off with a fireplace, a cool drink and friendly staff that we had a great laugh with and you can't really ask for anything more. Definitely will be back
L. C.
The best pie I've had in a long time . Nice atmosphere and lots of different rooms
Would eat there again
I. J.
Fabulous Victorian pub friendly staff and great food
J. A.
Lovely old pub. Limited selection of beers
M. C.
Fantastic old pub in Leeds. Great character and atmosphere and good choice of ales.
K. J.
What a lovely pub and a fantastic team who looked after us all afternoon... we will definitely come back 🤩
J. H.
KM came to check if my food was OK which I thought was a nice touch. I ordered and 8oz steak which was cooked to perfection ! Well priced great plate coverage and a nice pint Togo with it. Would definitely recommend!
S. W.
Nice original authentic pub 2 chill with few drinks & socialise with friends 👍🍺🍺
A. D.
Great pub, Kelly and the staff looked after us well
S. K.
Reasonable pricing and good portions; helpful and polite staff and service with a smile. Recommended.
M. C. (.
Nice pub with a quite a bit of character and moderate ale choices. Service was ok but they got an order amongst our party wrong (no cheese but still had cheese) and the pricing of diet "coke" (aka pepsi) somehow fluctuated from £3.45 to £2.45.
Also there was no toilets within the gents lavatory, with no clear signage where they would be.
O. B.
Very good venue, friendly staff and the food was very good. It's a bit tight given the restrictions but the pub is managing with the resources available. Visited on a Weds, from 3:30pm until about 6pm. Venue was quiet when we first entered but then picked up after work had finished for others.
Location is slightly South of the River Aire and within a 10 minute walk of the train station, which is a huge bonus.
I was in a party of 6 and the service was very good. Very simple in terms of ordering, given the menu and instructions, order via the app, sit back, relax and wait for your order to arrive. Cannot praise the staff enough, they were spot on! Thanks for a safe and enjoyable experience.
T. M.
Really enjoyable lunch - great service from Dan and great food from Mikey!
D. H.
A nice pub if lacking a little bit on service and atmosphere
J. S.
Wonderful atmosphere and even better food!
B. W.
Nice pub, good atmosphere, took a while to get served, but appreciate was busy with lots of reserved tables.
P. H.
Always our go to pub when in Leeds. Love this place.
T.
Spent a wonderful afternoon here over bank holiday weekend, whilst it was busy all over we managed to find an outdoors table and we were well looked after. Nice beer, attentive bar staff, we'll definitely be back!
g. h.
Unspoilt victorian gem. Well worth a visit.
Cask ales. Food. Outdoor seating.
S. H.
Lovely traditional pub with a good selection of beers. Can't beat a fresh Leeds Pale! The staff were very friendly and helpful. Recommended!
A.
Great food visited Sunday for a friends birthday, Matt and Jack were very helpful
V. A.
Colin and Jackson were great hosts. Really enjoyed our first visit and will return again food was lovely. 5 stars from us, all the way.
A. s.
Food was delicious and really friendly staff. A bit heart breaking there wasn't more customers. I guess it's a Wednesday, but was expecting it to be more busy. Its a Michell and Butler Pub, so easy ordering via the app with quick delivery following
S. S.
A few of us went end brilliant food and the two staff was excellent
S. C.
Great pub, though now real ales pub not the old tetley pub.
P. D.
Always loved the Adelphi from great folk evenings in the 60s to Gastro pub in the 2000s.Went a bit grungy for a while but recently a lovely meet up place and good old fashioned, mixed age group atmosphere. Great friendly staff too!
G. S.
It's alright, smelt weird and had a weird vibe. Was also quite quiet so might need another visit. Staff were polite but non conversational.
6/10
K. T.
It was ok, but I'm fussy and they don't put mash on only roast. I dont like roasts and the veg is all roasted and sweet and I prefer boiled. But if you like the food like this it's spot on. The beef was lovley and plenty of it.
R. G.
I've been going here for a Friday lunch social for about a year. Table service, very friendly staff and a very warm atmosphere, the staff can't do enough to help you. They change their food menu often at the moment the fish pie is divine. As a lover of IPA I'm usually very happy. Best kept secret that their food is two for one with a Taste card so is an absolute bargain.
C. S.
Had a great meal and a fantastic afternoon. All 26 guests were highly delighted and thoroughly enjoyed it. The staff couldn’t have been more helpful from organising the pre-orders to warming baby food. Thank you all. We will be back.
C. S.
Since my last time here things have had a bit of a spruce up. Plenty on the menu and what seems like a better selection of beers.
M. M.
Food and drinks were very nice and well done. Slightly pricey but affordable and good quality. Sadly the majority of the ales and crafts werent in stock so the choice wasnt massive. Unfortunately we were also in a very dark dingey room which wasnt great, but the outside spaces and upstairs were much better.
K. S.
Well organised following reopening after lockdown, good selection of ales, reasonably priced for a City Centre pub.
E. F.
Great pub for drinks, not so good for food...
F. M.
Beautiful building decor in modern colourways but manages to retain period charm. Enjoyed an early evening drink and food. Great staff. The Adelphi is the full package ✔
T. L.
I discovered the Adelphi when my lad was at Leeds university. I dropped in for a pint every time I was in the city. Went back in n today for the first time in about three years and was very pleased to see that it's still a great pub.
T. F.
Great place to enjoy a good night with live music when on.
k. m.
Lovely good,generous portions. Friendly staff.
D. “.
Really great cosy pub with excellent food and well kept beer
T. B.
Excellent pub to this day with well kept beers. The staff were friendly and made us feel welcome. Would recommend.
C. W.
Never been before. A nice place for family and friends.
n. b.
Great old pub. Lovely ales, cracking food. Really enjoyed my evening there with friends.
Staff spot on too. Thanks.
S. O. (.
Lovely old pub, great range of alcoholic drinks, personally would like to see a non alcoholic ale too
R. H.
Used to love it here but seems to have gone a bit downhill. The food is very blah these days used to be much better, as is the drinks selection. When I went they'd run out of both mulled wine & cider yet still advertising it. Opening hours on Google maps said midnight but they closed at 11, kicking us out by 11.15. Still like that it's dog and child friendly. The baby changer/disabled toilet was in a total mess the one time I used it, bombsite.
M. A.
Adelphi used to be my local years ago..plus I worked there for Tony & pat... Good days.. Still looks same apart from a few changes toilets different.. Walls.. Mmm.. Still don't like the taproom been split like they did... Nice drink.. Almost as good as when I was barcellar man.. 😂😂
M. E.
Delicious pie! V friendly service from Tom.
T. C.
There for a works retirement with a buffet meal included which was good quality and plentiful. Draft Peroni was a good socialising tool, thankfully they still have last orders to limit consumption
S. B.
came in the other night greeted by Kelly and Debbie well what a pair the best such a pleasure to served by and the adelphi is an amazing pub on my first visit 5 stars from me absolutely amazing how nice the place is
P. M.
Xmas lunch booked in advance very limited availability from their menu. What was available is good pub nosh.
s. r.
Lovely pub , nice food, nice beer. Just what you need in these times, staff were very professional, highly recommended
M. E. N.
Good solid traditional pub. Good beers on. Decent food. Lots of seating and rooms to tuck yourself away in. Decent function room upstairs for not too much. I probably wouldn't wile away an entire evening here but it's definitely worth a pint or two.
A. O.
Lived it, beautiful food great service.
E. S.
Lovely food and a nice quiet atmosphere.
P. C.
This is an Old World gem.
Great staff, beer with magnificent architecture, cosy snugs and wainscoting on the walls and Victorian tiling everywhere.
Step back in time on entry and enjoy an atmosphere of a forgotten age.
Best wishes from Paul.
R. E.
Grand old Victorian 'gin palace' pub full of original features, inside and out. We visited for a work Christmas lunch which was delicious (main course was a bit stingy in terms of veggies, but then I do have a *big* appetite) and served on the upstairs room, which is nicely decorated in traditional style. Lots of wooden floors, high ceilings, exposed brick, big fireplaces and sash windows with good views over the Leeds Bridge area. Service was friendly and efficient. Hadn't been in years before this visit but that will have to change :)
C. C.
First time in Leeds and stopped here with some work colleagues for some food and a pint.
Drinks where very reasonably priced and food was fresh, well cooked and of good quality.
Staff where pleasant and happy to sort out separate receipts for us all as well which is a huge help when submitting our expense claims with work.
M. A.
A really good city pub. Good beers, excellent food and service.
S. M.
Love this place, been coming for years. Great to hang out with friends, for a date night, gig venue or just popping in for a quick one after work.
M. H.
Great food. And great choice of lagers and beers. Pravah is awesome
J.
Fantastic service by Tom, Olivia and Casey and great food (had cheeseburger and fries). Drinks came within 5 mins and quicker than waiting at a bar and so much easier!
K. W.
Great traditional style pub real ales and good food
J. W.
Excellent pub, great food and service. Special mention to Connor and Dave. Enjoyed it!
A. S.

Beautiful old building with lots of separate rooms for you to drink and dine. Small beer garden in front of pub and also courtyard out the back. Was showing the rugby when we visited. Some nice comfortable chairs dotted around.
R. G.
If you are looking for a real British pub, with a great selection of hand pulled beer, with an old fashioned atmosphere, and really, really good pub food....this is the place for you.It was nice and busy the two nights we went during our stay in Leeds, but we did not miss out on attention. The service was friendly and fun....the bartender and the servers had no problem helping us figure out the beer....and we genuinely had a great experience.
N. D.
Much less scruffy than I remember it. Good selection of beers. Food looked okay although I wasn't eating. A very historic pub but it has the feel of a chain pub (which it probably is). Windows look like they're engraved glass but they're actually plastic sheets stuck on. Maybe I'm over analysing: go and give it a try!
C. T.
Lovely olde worlde pub great selection of gins and the food looked and smelt great too
M. G.

Well worth a visit if your in the area.
M. U.
It's one of the most stunning pubs I've been to. Very much in line with today's requirements of being socially responsible. The Estrella was a bit eggy but you'd be a fool not going in for one if your around
C. M.
Historic multi room pub with a nice selection of real ales and kegs. Great for food.
E. G.
Delicious food, friendly staff and relaxed pub atmosphere
F. D.
Dead cosy, lovely fireplace + decor, solid menu 👌
J. S.
Lovely old traditional pub with wide selection of beers
W. H. T.
Great food choice! If you looking for amazing pub food, look no further! The beef steak and salmon fillet is amazing! Try the peanut butter cheesecake too! It has a very nice atmosphere, very old tables and deco giving it a very nice vibe!
G. S.
Beer isn't too expensive, has rooms for Meetup. Friendly place!
I. W.
Not as bad as the Victoria but similar levels of neglect to a beautiful pub. Goes a bit beyond faded glamour towards a touch scruffy in places. Service can be patchy. Could do with deciding if they are serving from the side room bar or not as there is never anyone there to get your drinks. When there are beers in here that aren't at the main bar it's unnecessarily awkward. Beers are good, decent amount of cask & a the odd craft option.
S. S.
A very nostalgic pub
B. W.
My first time in the UK and my coworkers brought me here for lunch. The place was exactly what I think about when I imagine a British pub. Old wood floors and walls and tables that have seen it all. Food was fantastic. I had the sausage and mash which came with 3 nice size tasty sausages, a nice helping of mashed potatoes and a yorkshire pudding, covered in a generous amount of brown gravy. Fantastic. And it was only £10
K. w.
Staff friendly and helpful. Lovely food and nice atmosphere. Will go again.
a.
The best Sunday lunch I'v had images apart from my own!! Seriously though I thought it was fab and excellent value for money and far superior to the more expensive establishments I have tried in Leeds City Centre. I had Roast beef Yorkshires and all the trimmings and found room for sticky toffee pudding; it was a squeeze, but the portions were generous and everything cooked to perfection. I was also looking at what other people were eating and the other Sunday lunch options looked amazing too; plenty of clean plates. I will be working my way through the menu
A wonderful find!!
B. A.
By far the best Sunday dinner we have ever had! Me and my partner thought we'd cracked it when we'd found the castle pub in sandal when it came to good Sunday dinners but then we found 'THE ADELPHI' The food is exceptional, the atmosphere is great! We can't recommend this place enough to all our friends & family.
S. L.
Great old pub with a warm welcome. They serve great food & I do recommend the Sunday lunch they also do a share Sunday roast. Has a small outdoor area which is quite cosy on an evening. They also have a function room upstairs.
C. L.
Lovely atmosphere combining the modern and traditional. Superb staff who rescued a mistake - bread not well cooked - and turned it into a success (by replacing the bread, taking it off the bill and being user-friendly throughout).
M. S.
Really loved brunch here
B. H.
Superb Victorian booze with local beers
S. C.
A little bit cold and some beers on the menu not available but I can understand that given the uncertainty of the next coming week.
Lovely pub as always with great staff
M. N.
Came in for a few hours with the hubby, really lovely building, food was delicious i recommend the fish and chips! the bartender think her name was Rachel? made us feel very welcome, was a nice touch that she always remembered our drink order even when it got a bit busy. will be returning as soon as possible! thank you for a lovely evening adelphi!
H. H.
Really nice pub, great history, friendly staff, very different to your usual chain rubbish that seem to be everywhere nowadays. Only reason I didn't give 5 stars is because I didn't eat here so can't comment on the food. Definitely going back next time I'm out in town.
S. M.
Looks like a decent pub, but the day I visited great swathes of it were booked out for functions. No tellies to watch football in the only area left. Decent range of beers available. Food was good, although chip portions were a little stingy.
R. B.
Love this pub, has so much charm. Great drinks selection especially for beer and the food is really good. If your looking for a nice cosy pub and good pub food would go here.
S. R.
A fantastic old pub, which still retains its original interiors, adding to the charm & ambience of the place, in a good location for the Waterfront, the Gay Quarter & the Shopping within the city.
Serves original homecooked food, has a great mixture of clientele & ages, fantastic architecture, good staff & 1 of the few pubs left in the city. A must for anyone coming to Leeds on a trip or for locals popping into Town.
C.
Nice "proper" pub great staff
A. E.
Deliciously tasty food. Really helpful and friendly staff. All covid guidelines are followed. Would definitely go back. 👍
K. P.
Great pub grub
s. b.
We visited this pub to enjoy homage2fromage cheese event and it was brilliant.
The Adelphi is real olde world charm and a lovely example of how pubs used to be. Friendly staff and clean interior. It's even dog friendly.
We will return once the cheese events start again.

A bit disappointed, had read great reviews on leedslist and on here about the roasts so booked in for one at 6pm on Sunday. In fairness, I think it was an odd evening to go as they were closing at 8pm for some maintenance, but they had ran out of all the meat except chicken, and they'd also ran out of roast potatoes and pies.
They did chips instead of mash though, and the triple cooked chips were great.
The chicken comes with pigs in blankets and stuffing, but they did forget those, but then they did bring them out when we asked about it. The yorkshire pud was a bit dry, and I've got to say, I wasn't really impressed with the food.
We may have just gone in on a bad day, but it was very quiet when we were there, but the staff were friendly and the interior is fantastic. Would love to come in a large group for winter drinks, but I think I'm unlikely to go back there for food.
M. A. W. G.
This pub is one of oldest pub's in Leeds I have been there many times over the years when my friend from London used to come to Leeds to visit me. The prices for a drink are very competitive compared to other places in the centre of Leeds. I have not had any food there for some time. So I cannot comment on the food
P. K.
Real pub with real ales and a decent range. Great building and inside is as you would imagine it (proper pub!). It's an old style with rooms off to different areas so really does feel like an old pub but updated for all crowds. Not tried food yet so will either add a star or take 1 away when I do dependant on food.
R. B.
Impressive original old pub with a lovely selection of beers and ales
C. E.
Went to Jack o Clubs comedy night as a performer, the staff were lovely as was the audience.
s. m. (.
Great atmosphere as a traditional city centre venue. Close to City train station and bus links. Has a rooms to hire and the most friendly staff. Four legged patrons welcomed and watered.
M. C.
A detail packed Victorian tavern with wood panels and old tiles, real ale and food. A step back in time apart from the prices but by Leeds standards even they're not bad.
M. S.
Nice pub good beer
A. H. (.
The meals are nice (way better than Wetherspoons) even though they are quite expensive but the building costs alot to maintain as its really old so it's worth it. The downside is its tight to move if your in a powerchair I would always come here if l lived in Leeds
D. d. P.
Nipped in for a quick drink on a chilly evening. Sat by a log fire and had a good time. Some of my friends had a burger which they enjoyed a lot.
Will definitely have to return to sample the food for myself!
D. L.
Excellent food, and the prices and portions very good 👍
R. M.
We didn't eat here, but had a drink. This is an amazing building and worth a look for this reason alone. A slice of history. Service and atmosphere didn't disappoint either. Cosy fires. I would definitely go back.
K. G.

Beautiful old tetley's flagship pub with Victorian decor. Good drinks, great food & lovely atmosphere!
T. W.
The Adelphi, fantastic traditional pub, often hosting live music, the food served here is good too and the prices are reasonable. On a sunny day, they often have table service outside.
K. C.
Good solid pub. Amazing burgers.
Would recommend.
V. W.
Lovely pub with old fashioned charm. Lots of original features. Featured in Frost. Good pint! Didn't eat but looked and smelled gorgeous.
L. V.
This a great informal place for fun tasty good value Indian street food. Menu changes everyday. Lovely staff. Give it a go you won't be disappointe
P. M.
Attractive pub, quite dear and not great Guinness. Loud and obnoxious music when I was there on a Saturday; would be potentially nice in the week without.
J.
Nice pub. Good selection of beers and the food was pretty good. Meal deals with beers included made it very good value for food much better than typical pub fayre.
L. F.
Love it here, visited as the pubs had just reopened great social distancing measures in place and still felt relaxed and comfortable in one of my favourite pubs in Leeds.
S. A.
Fantastic food, came as a group of 5, and everyone loved their meals. Top quality and good portion sizes.
F. C.
Very upscale atmosphere but with a very welcoming ambiance. Had a pint and stayed for dinner...the steak and ale pie did not disappoint....

Looks nice from the outside but pretty bland on the inside. Expensive too. Double gin and tonic £8.45! There are much better pubs in Leeds.
A. P.
Suggested to anyone looking for a typical fish & chips, it was very good!!!
G. T.
A good old style traditional pub with good bar food.
C. B.
Patient friendly staff, a good pub menu.
Nice atmosphere, the meal was nice. Not a single grumble, odd for me, I know.
j. d.
Great pub in so many ways. Good food and varied choice of beverages to enjoy.
Incredibly busy over the festive period so how the manager and his super team of staff performed so efficiently and kept their sense of humour is incredible
They are human, different characters and personalities and can't humanly be expected to be on top of their game under pressure and stress .
But they make a good fist of it even when challenged by fussy sourpusses like
Jack Anderton.
I've personally had a rotten Xmas but my couple of hours in the Adelphi on Xmas day was the bright spot.
Love and best wishes to you all.
Especially to Fitchy and family on your adventures anew in 2017.
John
Fay deserves an award. She told me.

B. M.
Nice pub/hotel. Went for an event here recently. The building is beautiful and it's a little quieter being on the edge of the city centre. Decent selection of beers/ales.
M. D.
Good traditional pub that was famed for being the closest to the Tetley brewery.
Enjoyed an excellent pint of Landlord sat in the area outside. Like most pubs outdoor areas it sadly stank of overused ashtrays.
K. B.
Great venue for a pub quiz.
The food was great, my colleagues said that they had the best scotch eggs they have ever eaten here and I agree!
