Beautiful optics from the outside, which makes it very enticing. The waitress in a brown cardigan did a fantastic job with our group. The hanging meat concept was terrific, but we had to abandon the chips as they were hard to chew. The cheesecake was the best I've ever had, fresh and creamy.

Incredible food here today. 10/10. They even chucked in a free ice cream because it was my birthday! #LEGENDS! Thank the lord I didn’t need a poo because because there wasn’t any toilet roll — let them know for the next person so it’s all good! I needed a take-out box but they had run out but luckily it was fine because I had a box I could put my spare potatoes in in my bag. The food is always presented marvellously and just enough, however the little things that were missing did not directly affect me but may others! Will come here again!

Great cocktail bar. The outside seating area is really nice to look at. All the fake plants hanging on the shelter roof look great. The cocktails are good too. Pretty tasty old fashioned. It's nice to watch the guys make the cocktails too. All around a pretty good place to go for a drink in Leeds city center.

Went for my birthday on Sunday and was really amazing. Food came quick and atmosphere was really lovely. Even for being a full house, we were not forgotten about and service was great but not intrusive. Special thanks to our server Megan for the evening, who made really great cocktail suggestions. To top it off, was surprised with a candle in our desert. Made a very special day even better. Thank you very much and will definitely be back

Food was delicious and fairly priced, but service was very slow. We had requested a bottle of prosecco for arrival which wasn't provided (but not charged for), and despite requesting a high chair when booking, the table reserved for us couldn't accommodate one. The staff moved a diner from a nearby table to accommodate us, so it was quickly sorted, but shouldn't have been necessary in the first place

Staff are really friendly and helpful, so polite and happy to give recommendations The food is excellent and the "Build your own board" is a really good idea not to mention delicious. Aesthetic and atmosphere is also different and really lovely. Love it! Highly recommended

Nice atmosphere although my lunch companion was a bit cold and kept her overcoat on. Our server was polite, friendly and helpful. On her recommendation I chose the sea bass which was beautifully cooked, well presented and very tasty. I loved it. My friend opted for the Korean burger and, on tasting, regretted her choice -- it didn't look that tasty and so it proved. I'd go back again for the fish and the service but not sure my friend will want to!

Came in before going to the arena, was busy but service was good. We ordered the the cheese burger which was nice and the chicken and chorizo skewers which was over cooked, it was actually a little black. We spoke to Jake who was phenomenal! A absolute credit to the place! His employers should be grateful to have an employee like this. He’s the reason we’ve given 4 stars, he wasn’t even our server! But went out of his way multiple times for us! He’s the standard service should be and we’re thankful he was there! We don’t know if you will see this but thank you Jake!!

Very cosy and a bit quirky inside. The food was lovely. I had the squid for my starter. It was cooked perfectly. All 5 of us had the hanging kebabs each one of them was gorgeous. The only 2 things I was disappointed with and that was the volume of the music. Far too loud for a dining experience . Second one was the mojito....grossly overpriced and tasteless. I think I was charged for the amount of crushed ice....not rum. Definitely worth a visit though.

Came to the botanist to celebrate my graduation with my family. There was plenty for everyone to eat - even with some of us being vegan. The portion sizes were amazing and service was prompt. We were even given a complimentary bottle of Prosecco as a congratulations. Could not recommend highly enough and can’t wait to go back!

Great food and drinks menu, especially the cocktails!! I always like to try something new! Well known for its hanging kebabs. We had starters of chicken wings and olives, both were fresh and tasty (the chicken was not deep fried like some places!) I was recommended the lamb which was lovely and my husband had the pork belly kebab. Polite and friendly service. Highly recommend!

Great food though style over functionality when it comes to "plates". The hanging kebabs are lovely and the desserts are superb and HUGE! Staff were helpful & accommodating with a baby's needs as far as modern health & safety permit. Very busy on a Friday night and booking ahead is almost certainly required.

A friendly and cosy place, ideal to visit for food or for a drink. On weekends they have live music with piano and guitar usually. There cocktails are absolutely amazing and they look to have a more chemical character, and the place too. They cocktails are usually served in pots and test tubes. The service is ok.

Certainly one of the best place I have tried in Leeds so far. Plenty of choices from the menu and high quality drinks or even just a beer to spend some time with friends. The place itself is nice and with its own ambient, staff is friendly and available, and there are seats both indoor and outdoor. Maybe a bit on the expensive side but not really much, considered how scrappy other places are for the same prices. I only wish they were offering table service... Anyway, I'll definitely come back 👍

When me and my fiancé arrived, the waitress was very friendly and kind. We sat outside the front and had cocktails while we waited to be seated undercover and we would highly recommend the strawberry and elderflower mojito. The undercover seating area is so cute and the food is gorgeous. 10 points to the chefs who cook the food because they are really busy but the food is to a high standard. Good prices and good service. It made the night really special. Would deffo go back here!

Was a great meal with a large group. Warm atmosphere and the skewers were great we had 7 skewers and one chicken burger. They were happy to swap the chips with alternatives as I had onion petals instead. The drinks were very nice included the cocktails and gins. The only thing was we were sitting by the bar and kept here the bar man shouting when he made a drink to go to the restaurant side which kept making me jump. I know the restaurant was busy and noisy but there was no reason for him to shout like the way he did

Great pub with great food. The hanging kebab is their signature dish, and is well received. Most of the facilities you'd expect from a high end pub are on offer, although the range of beers is limited with few on tap (mostly pricey bottles). Well worth a visit, however.

I liked this bar in its early days, both for food and drinks. The staff are excellent, and the service really relaxed and attentive. It’s got lovely decor and an outdoor area (though not with great views!) My last visit was on a Saturday lunchtime, and it was pretty busy - so my judgement is based on the capacity of the bar to handle a lot of people - unless you’re eating it’s too crowded and not at all relaxed. On this occasion the cocktails were poor which was a shame. Don’t write it off, but avoid busy times.

Been here a few times and I really do like it. The focus is cocktails, and they're brilliant. However they also have an exstensive craft beer choice, both bottled and draught, good enough to make it worth visiting just for the beer. The interior looks great and the staff are friendly and good fun. There's also a nice heated outside area that isn't right on the street as the bar is set back a little way. My only complaint is that given the time consuming nature of putting the cocktails together they can seem a little understaffed sometimes. But they do their best and I certainly wouldn't let that put you off coming. It's a great bar and well worth visiting whatever you want to drink.

Nice cocktail but why was the bar staff using plastic straw to taste everything. I started counting as it was unbelievable and it was 22 used in a space of 40 minutes!!! I had an office dinner here and the ambience was great. It was a thursday night so quite packed but service was timely and orders came within reasonable time frame. They slightly dropped the ball when time to pay the bill as we had to chase for staff to get the receipt, and food although very tasty portions I thought it was not big enough as a main (Hanging kebab).

Our daughter booked a table for seven people at the Botanist, what a treat, the atmosphere was great, food outstanding, staff very pleasent and the price surprisingly reasonable. We’ve visited for drinks before and thought the food, especially the hanging kebabs, looked good so we booked a meal. We ordered a sweet chilli chicken and a lamb kebab. Also a sharing salad.

The evening we went there was a high quality entertainer. The bar area is also popular and was very crowded which is to be expected. Lovely bar in central Leeds. Open for just drinks or food. I visited with a group on a Friday night. While of course it was busy it wasn't smotheringly so and the customers were there to have a nice evening, not just to be seen. Central Leeds prices, so expensive, but not ridiculously so. The bar was busy but the staff were competent and making drinks to order and getting through the people as soon as possible, and working the whole bar well, so you weren't waiting too long. You're able to get most anything here, from a pint of local beer to a daft smoking cocktail served in a plant pot (not a joke), so they cater for all sorts. Live music on when I went in from a really good female cover singer. Great atmosphere. No idiots, which was nice.

HOWEVER, a member of staff was continually asking if we wanted more drinks when our drinks were half full and when we said we didn't want desserts we just wanted to finish our drinks the member of staff tutted and proceeded to rush back to the tills to her team member where kept shaking her head and pointing at our table. We had the table for less than an hour... if you are that busy then set time limits on how long people can have their tables for... otherwise, tell your staff to drop the attitude, as a paying customer it's frustrating to feel so rushed. We actually left shortly afterwards after feeling as though we were an 'inconvenience'. Disappointing!!!

What a cool concept, great service, and even better food. Hands down our best meal experience during our visit to Leeds. I was served truffle mushrooms in a garden trowel, and the book of craft beers was amazing. Our server Josh was fantastic. After lunch with our daughter attending university, we returned later that evening for drinks. Wonderful live music made our experience even better. But get there early because it got extremely crowded. This is a must visit in Leeds for any foodie.
