Reviews of THE BREWERY TAP
D. H.
Comfortable, clean, and cosy. Excellent cask and other beers. Cocktails and food. Friendly staff. Very convenient for Leeds Station.
J. G.
Lovely pint of Leeds brewery pale + warm pork scratchings! They had a few guesy ales on too, but after sampling nothing stood out beyond the house brews.
A. P.
Excellent selection of drinks, variety of beer and cider on tap. Chips are awesome, honestly best chips you'll ever have.
M. A.
Great selection of beers, and knowledgeable staff. Good atmosphere and comfortable booths! I'll definitely be trying it again next time I'm in Leeds
D. S.
We stopped by on a packed Saturday afternoon. Near impossible to find a place to sit down downstairs. Decent roof terrace. Average selection of beers. I would visit it again.
S. L.
Friendly, good service, drinks. GREAT ambiance, decor, drinks terrace.
S. T.
Great tasting ale and kept in excellent condition. The burgers (and the chips) are out of this world. Staff were friendly and attentive too.
M. N.
Fantastic range of draft and bottled and great burgers from big bun! Good atmosphere and a small beer garden/balcony upstairs as well
g. h.
Excellent bar, laid back atmosphere good selection of beers.
D. S.
Excellent. Good choice of beer and reasonable prices. Can get very busy so avoid football match days.
D. P.
Lovely pub close to the station. Ideal for a quick pre-train pint, if that's your thing.
J. B.
Always a great atmosphere. Great beer and food to go with. What else could you ask for!
T. L.
3 mins from Leeds station, with good seating and really excellent beer selection.
C. “.
Great pub, been here many times! Server good cask ales on rotation from Leeds Brewery, and ideally located for a short stumble home afterwards to the train station. They do serve food and take bookings for parties too, the Terrance upstairs is lovely lit up in the evenings.
C. D.
Lovely staff polite and welcoming, whole pub smelt of fresh flowers in which it did to me men's toilets which was a surprise smelt again like fresh flowers more on cost on drinks but was completely worth it thanks
K. M.
Love this bar, fabulous selection of beers and friendly service. It's a bit small so can struggle to get a seat sometimes but one usually frees up eventually if you hang around long enough.
T. G.
This little pub close to the train station is a Leeds brewery one. They sell their own beer as well as a few guest ales. Upstairs is a tiny roof terrace
k. t.
Great place to sink a drink when your waiting for your train or If you have no train to catch
J. A.
Love this bar if you visit try their pork scratchings they are delicious
S. H.
Good beer, lovely staff, great atmosphere
P. S.
Limited on seating and can get busy but a decent bar - a good place to have a drink and wait for your train!
K. M.
The Brewery Tap has been on of our go-to stops for a pint after work for years. It has a great range of beer and the staff are always friendly. The food has expanded to include Big Buns burgers which are awesome (and incredibly, unavoidably messy).
The prices relect the fact that it's in a prime location in the city centre by the station and whilst not expensive, it is a fraction more than I would usually like to pay, but with many places charging the same or more and me being a tight Yorkshire man, I think I'll just live with it!
M. D. H.
Good range of beers. Great staff. Well worth a visit.
T. F.
Freemans Entertainment at brewery taps really nice place to for a meal. But the price of a pint of coke acola is £3 a pint. Ridiculous.
T. D.
Dashed in here as I need the loo. Had a superb G & T the staff very friendly and helpful.
d.
Beer is great, didn't have to wait and their cask golden lager was awesome.
Update. Back again and it is still fantastic
K. G.
Great bar very near Leeds train station.Giid selection of drinks & food available
I. C.
Good beer pleasant friendly staff. Open air balcony upstairs. Close to the station. Get some pork scratchings there's no comparison to the stuff you buy in bags
D. S.
8 of their own beers on tap and 9 + guest taps. A reasonable selection of can and bottles in the fridge. You can get a flight of 3 1/3rd pints of Leeds beers for 4 quid. A half pint was 2.30.
J. O.
This is a very beautiful building. The staff are very friendly and helpful and clearly work extremely hard. However, we felt that it just missed the mark. Perhaps a little more attention to detail and a little more training for the staff and it would be spot on! Keep going, you're so nearly there.
T. C.
I guess it must have been an 'off' night - service was v-slow, even though it wasn't busy, bar staff need to cheer up a bit!
S. P.
Great beer range. Seems like a bit a of a dive compared to other Leeds brewery pubs
I. W.
Loved it 10 out of 10
In transit have a break here it's so friendly
N. H.
Always a favourite starting point. Great beers, nice set up
L.
Went to an event in the upstairs bar. Pleasant venue, good central location in Leeds.
M. L.
Superb! Very friendly professional staff.. Lovely looking interior. Great real ales. Look forward to my next visit. Well done to everyone connected..
J. L.
Great pub. Nice decor, good service.
G. J.
Great food and good service. Very reasonable prices for an inner city eatery. Good choice of draught beers.
J. N.
Great little bar... Nice find on our trip to Leeds... Leeds IPA was a winner also!
d. c.
A very good city centre pub. The food was okay.
J. A.
The burgers are to die for. Independent ale House bit pricey. But you are in a city.
R. W.
Not been before but Leeds ale was good. Went upstairs and there is a small balcony overlooking the train station. Train spotters delight?
S. M.
Been visiting this Bar since it opened, never been a problem. When we visited 2 weeks ago we were greeted by a Very Rude young lady who spoke to my Husband and Myself like we were a pair of children. I work in Hospitality myself and Believe Me, You Do NOT speak to People in this manner. Very Very Disappointed
K. S.
Fantastic beer, fantastic service and fantastic staff👍🏽
P. H.
Only had one drink in here and bore witness to a drunk man dancing with a small reindeer Teddy. Nice! Nice little pub 👍🏼
C. S.
Excellent beer, great cocktails and friendly people
D. H.
Nice pint, a stone's throw from the train station
S. B.
Great range of beers and amazing burgers
C. F.
Decent bar just down from the train station, only called in for one but no complaints, well decorated and the little upstairs outdoor seating is a nice touch.
L. E.
Good selection of beers, a bit crowded but managed to get a seat.
L. N.
Friendly staff, nice venue. Came here for a function in the upstairs room. Was perfect for our group size and the small upstairs bar was handy. I popped downstairs a few times to have a wider selection of ales but that was no hardship.
A. E.
Nice bar for a drink whilst waiting for a train. Way better than Wetherspoons on the station!
A. W.
For a pub to be so close to the train station to have no door staff is great. We drink here every Saturday as there's always plenty of staff providing good quick service. Good drinks choice too.
D. A.
Great ambience with a wide variety of beers on offer. Well worth a visit!
L. T.
Drinks with family for Father's day very relaxed atmosphere. Lovely pub with fab bar staff, Aaron was a star.
N. A.
Great staff and good drinks
G. T.
An excellent comfy bar/pub close to Leeds train station where you can have a real good chat by and excellent drinks.
D. K.
Nice friendly place .Also close to train station..
L. E.
Good selection of beers, a bit crowded but managed to get a seat.
g. m.
Staff are great, great atmosphere and great selection of drinks. Overall, very great
P. B.
Good atmosphere, always busy
R. E.
Great beer and service.
G. J.
Great food and good service. Very reasonable prices for an inner city eatery. Good choice of draught beers.
C. S.
Excellent beer, great cocktails and friendly people
D. H.
Loved this place. Deffinately need to get onto the roof terrace. Beer lovers heaven
N. H.
Great bar and a first stop from the train station
g. m.
Staff are great, great atmosphere and great selection of drinks. Overall, very great
M.
Obviously great selection of real ale but mostly very strong beers. Room a bit uninspiring. Outside space was fine on a glorious sunny Sunday. Not sure how often it gets used. Easy ten / fifteen minute walk from main station with at least 3 good pubs / bars on the way.
G. T.
An excellent comfy bar/pub close to Leeds train station where you can have a real good chat by and excellent drinks.
S.
Visited once just before New Year and thought the place was ok for drinks - the beer selection isn't bad. Not very impressed with the food though, and it actually took a bit of persuasion to get the girl serving at the bar to let us order food ... an hour before the stated finishing time; she told us that the chef had probably closed the kitchen now, but eventually went to check, came back and took our order!
P. P.
Good real ale selection and helpful staff
P. W.
We booked the upstairs function room for a Sunday afternoon celebration.
we ordered the sandwich buffet which all came in fresh chunky bread, chips and delicious pork pies. Gluten free also supplied which came with a quiche instead of pork pie. great food all round.
we had sole use of the upstairs bar, started off a little bumpy due to lack of glasses and some drinks but this was soon resolved and great service provided through the afternoon.
We supplied a spotify playlist which they pumped through their sound system, this was a little hit and miss at times but didn’t spoil the experience.
Overall great venue, would happily use again.
T.
We stopped in on our way home from Leeds and was pleasantly surprised by a very knowledgeable bar tender on both beers and spirits, notably the gins.
The beer selection was good with both ales and craft beer being well stocked.
We didn't try the food menu but it did look very interesting with twists on the usual pub classics.
The only minus was the smell of sour beer coming from the tables.
A. W.
Okay beers but nothing exceptional and not the biggest selection. Good location near train station. Standard new hipstery pub decor. Bit of a yeasty spilt beer smell throughout. Not too busy. Fine place for a beer after work or whilst waiting for train.
P. B.
Lovely happy smiling staff ready to help a new visitor to the City. Excellent choice of drinks (I chose the Gathering Storm stout, it's beautiful!). Food is served until 9pm so I went for the steak with extra chips and onion rings. The menu explains the dish(es) well and I wasn't disappointed, a perfectly cooked juicy steak, stunning twice cooked hand cut chips and a well seasoned side salad, whole cooked tomato and flat mushroom. I ordered extra chips and onion rings to satisfy my large appetite and that it did! An absolute gem of a bar a few minutes from the station that has all of the elements of great customer service and quality product written all over it. Make it first on your list to visit whenever you're in Leeds!
P. M.
Handy for station and good selection if beers
G. W.
Just love this pub, great atmosphere and a fabulous range of beers. Oh and another plus point it is very handy for the station and is on a direct route to and from the centre of Leeds! The food is also very good as well, the chips are to die for.
S. F.
Lovely pub a mere 1min walk from Leeds station. A great place to have a meeting & coffee or indeed a BLT which was a really good size. Sadly no picture as too busy eating the BLT & forgot but it was good!
M. P.
Good choice of Leeds brewery's ales, but as it's central Leeds be prepared to pay for them
m. c.
This watering hole is convenient for the station and offers a limited but always interesting range of craft and cask beers. It is located over 3 floors including a roof top garden where smoking is permitted. Atmosphere depends very much upon the time of day. On weekdays evenings it is often crowded with professional types and is noisy and full of testosterone. I prefer it on a Sunday when it is reasonably quiet and civilised. Decor wise it is refreshingly light on the recycled pallet and stripped back walls look so beloved of hipster joints and rather more like a traditional pub.
G. S.
Great beer and excellent value
S. R.
Great selection of both unusual and familiar beers. Knowledgeable staff who seem passionate about what they do. Food is good also with very generous portions. Very close to the railway station for wobbling back onto the train after sampling their wares!
R. H.
Good selection of beers..friendly staff..always a go to place for a drink when in Leeds.
R. B.
Nice beers that aren't found elsewhere. The burger joint is also very nice! 👍🏻🖖🏻
J.
Called in to meet up with friends for an hour on an evening out in leeds.
This bar is situated almost right outside the train station and is an ideal location for commuters to meet up .
The bar area was busy with lots of customers heading into leeds or back to the train station .
The bar itself offered a wide range of real ales , cask beers and largers , with lots of spirits available at a fair price for its location, the bar staff were friendly, polite and servis was quick .
The customers were a mixed bunch some in high spirits after a good day out .
The bar area had a good atmosphere and is an ideal place to start an evening out .
Didn't try food but a plate full that passed me looked very nice.
Will call again , well worth a visit.
D. R.
Great beer selection, great atmosphere and great decor. A lovely place to call for a pint either with a group or with the other half.
Only criticism I could give is when ordering one of the less known beers - being told it is expensive is one thing, I'd rather be told that it was 7.2% 😂 still a good beer, although not one to finish off a night with the Mrs.
Check the labels before you order!!
J. J.
It's a modern city pub, ideal for your colleagues and you to have an after work pint. Very good selection of beers to enjoy and show off your knowledge to. It's pricier than other options around and attracts a business crowd.
P.
Great pub. I have been meaning to visit for ages. Finally popped in today. Great beer selection and food was exceptional. Good value for money for a city centre pub
S. M.
A great place for a real drink and to relax. Would love this to be my local.
A. H.
The bar is really clean and tidy, and the tables were very well organised! Sounds small but it's very rare to find these days. Also a great selection of beers on tap
E. L.
Great little pub, excellent selection of local beers.
M. M.
Great range of beers. Appears on the small-ish side because it is popular and often quite crowded but staff are quick and very pleasant so no big deal unless you absolutely need to sit. Space upstairs and smoking area too. Handy for the train station.
S. H.
Nice spot near to the station. Been wanting to visit for a while and enjoyed the cool atmosphere. Not a fan of the beer I ended up with but that was my fault really. Good selection, I just made a bad choice for me.
S. L.
Decent selection of Leeds finest ales.
D. H.
Loved this place. Deffinately need to get onto the roof terrace. Beer lovers heaven
D. E.
Fantastic Brewery Tap
Within a five minute walk of Leeds Railway Station are several excellent real ale bars and pubs. In my opinion the best of them is the Leeds Brewery Tap on New Station Street.
As you would expect they sell a full range of Leeds Brewery Sales but also three guest ales craft beers lager and wines etc.
The food is of a high quality the burgers are fabulous.
The Brewery Tap also offers upstairs seating area a garden area upstairs and very good staff.
If you are in Leeds pay it a visit you will not be disappointed
J. C.
Great bar and selection of beers. Staff are friendly and helpful. Covid safety regulations well worked ensuring staff and customers are kept safe.
M. W.
Great real ale pub, many different ones on tap with some of them changing frequently.
Good atmosphere, friendly staff, modern décor. Gets busy early on with the after-work crowd, thins out later.
A. S.
Good beer but disgusting urinal. There's some sort of leak so there's urine all over the floor.
T. W.
Modern cashless bar, serving a wide variety of craft beers. There is a small hatch serving Bao buns with a variety of lovely fillings, dumplings too, at reasonable prices. This is a vibrant place, good for a drink if you are in the neighborhood.
J. J.
I booked their upstairs room and terrace for a small party for my 40th. Was very well looked after, the staff working the bar for us were great and kept the area private, we were able to play our own music, cannot recommend here highly enough
J. C.
Yanks in Leeds take note. This is one of the friendliest pubs in town, staff and patrons alike. Excellent location for a pint (cask and draft), a well made g&t, and/or some really delicious pub grub. The "chips" are to die for! I wish I lived closer, so that I could visit more often.
R. M.
Love the refurb, lots of seating. Great selection of beer and cider. Upstairs available for hire. I haven't tried the food but it goods good. Definitely worth a visit
C. W.
Nice pub and decent drinks selection but a little expensive. They have some nice seating areas near books and there's a homely vibe
S. N.
So you have a business meeting in Leeds and have a timed train ticket, so you can pop in here and experience a new beer or two (using the motto drink in halves, try twice the beers) and talk to the knowledgable staff about what's on. I like dark beers, so go for milds, porters and stouts. You can also grab a decent meal - the bar menu is seasonal and good. The only downside, is that you will have to eventually bid farewell and get on that train.
n. w.
Great little boozer, great ales and handily close to the train station. The acoustics in there aren't great though, so if you're hard of hearing or losing your voice make sure you get on a table where you can be close to your drinking buddies.
J. A.
Smart and well-appointed refurbishment, particularly the roof terrace, nice staff and well-located for a quick pint. Beers could be improved - a wide choice but largely mediocre keg or mediocre cask. Usual Leeds city centre issues apply: very poor price/performance for beer and food and overly crowded on Fridays + Saturday day time.
P. G.
Good ale, friendly staff. Well worth a visit if coming to/from the train station
P. B.
Good atmosphere, always busy
C. B.
A perfect pint, just far enough away from the madness of Leeds Railway Station.
K. H.
First visit here since early 2020, good to see it was still here! Always a good pint of Leeds Pake.
D. K.
Nice friendly place .Also close to train station..
M. b.
Great pub with lovely staff. Fantastic balcony to watch the world go by.
J.
More choice of craft beer and ciders than most people can take in, which does cause a delay sometimes as the uninitiated cannot make their mind up what they want. Good pizzas as well
S. G.
The dark stouts in here are lovely a real nice pub near the train station
N. F.
Barmaid was really friendly and knowledgeable feels like an old pub even though it is really new. Food wasn't available so couldn't give it 5 stars
D. S.
I've drank here often, it's always the first stop on match day located just outside the train station but today was the first time I've eaten. I ordered the steak and chorizo burger and wow what a burger!!! One of the best I've had and delicious potato wedges aswell!! I'm definitely eating here again
G. S. (.
Great selection of beers. Some good prices. Friendly staff. Update: nov2017 still excellent selection beer, friendly staff, beer samples available. All in all a definite favourite!
C. R.
Great venue, beer and balcony
R. E.
Great beer and service.
C. T.
Popped in on the way to the train station. Great choice of wine and lovely place to sit and watch the world go by.
C. C.
Lively atmosphere. Very cosy when a bit busy. More overpriced for a pint than expected but asking for one of their beers or another local you can definitely get good value.
K. W.
Nice pub close to the station, serves Leeds Brewery Ales and has Up to 4 (?) Guest ales, variety of lagers as well. Food looks good but not tried
T. P.
A nice little pub with a beer garden on the roof where you can smoke it is a bit pricey but well worth a visit
M. L.
It was our first time in this bar and will certainly call in again, great choice of draft beers. Bar Staff were good nice atmosphere.
T. H.
A lively drinking establishment, the staff are extremely friendly and informative about the ales they serve. It is ideally positioned if you're looking to get a swift drink before catching a train at Leeds Station.
J. R.
Great selection of beers and very cosy. Can spend time drifting away towards another beer quite easily! Friendly pub.
w. t.
Best place for quick drinks if ur waiting for ur train coz its just outside of station. Friendly staff, cool service, reasonable prices n variety of drinks made it more famous. Neat & clean n beautiful seating area with superb atmosphere. We r happy with our visit n recommend it. Thanks to u guys
J. H.
Good beer and service . Suppose only slight gripe was price of beer , but it is Leeds .
Handy for train station
M. D.
Always have good beers on tap and the burgers are amazing!
D. W.
Nice pub. Good choice of beer but not a lot of space. Head upstairs if you are in a group.
M. D.
Fantastic beer selection, lovely food and a fairly chilled atmosphere... All within a mins walk of Leeds station.
A. L.
Great location for the station and fantastic selection of beers. Service is quick and loads of seating and standing space if that's what you want.
J. L.
Organised my birthday party here. The staff were amazing all day, and the food couldn't have been better. It's a great little venue for all occasions and conveniently located as well.
S. L.
I'm not local, but I was in the area with some time before a train and popped in. Brilliant little place, great selection of beers, comfortable and very welcoming.
D. F.
Always excellent beer, friendly and helpful staff and good value food, too. Very handy location for the station!
J. M.
Really nice place and food was quality.
J. S.
Good beer. Bit over priced. Presumably partly due to its location. It does get very loud (people talking)it's an echo chamber. I've never heard music playing which is good
S. H.
Great beers and very good bar
K. O.
Only been there for a quick pint but there's a nice amount of space and a nice range of different beers.
J. L.
Popped in here for a quick drink and was surprised with how nice it was, different IPA beers and even had skinny brands larger on draught, well happy.
I'll be going again.
K.
Great little find. Nice little roof terrace. We were there on a Monday and they had 241 on the burgers, really tasty!
D. W.
Meet people getting off the train here regularly. We sometimes find it difficult to find a reason to move on. Really good selection of beer on tap.
C.
Good beer food great quick service so we could catch our train. Very good staff
R.
Dropped in last week for a pint and a bite to eat. Good atmosphere, beer and food at reasonable prices...friendly bar staff to boot...what more do you want.
M. E.
Good selection of beer. Can get quite busy and they way the inside is laid out means that people sometimes congregate round the bar or near the door.
C. S.
Lovely function room upstairs with its own bar. The buffet that was there was lovely too. Ideal location near the station!
W. M.
Nice pub with a relaxed atmosphere. Brilliant place to have a beer before catching the train home or going out for the evening.
A. R.
Very nice moretti on tap and nice outdoor seating.
Lovely
P. B.
Lovely little pub with some great local and guest beers on tap. Tap for the Leeds Brewery so always got a good selection of their beers on.
T. D.
Great food, beer, service, and charm. Perfect place for a drink over lunch, or after work. Never seems to be too busy, given its location.
I. J.
Always great to experience Local beers here, my last one before I left for Auckland was Yorkshire Gold - pure quality.
J. P.
Great selection of ales and a good place to stop whilst waiting for a train. Can get very busy and is noisy when full.
W. W.
Very nice pub. The bar staff were very helpful in letting me try samples.
A. C.
We had our School reunion in here on Saturday they were great with us even kept a private area so we could have a good catch up Very enjoyable experience
I. H.
Pretty nice bar, usually reasonable busy, very handy for a quick pint on the way home. Beer terrace is a little small for summer evening drinks.
D. N.
Don't get me wrong it's ok, but it feels like it's trying to cosplay as a craft ale bar a la Brewdog. But doesn't have the right vibe or clientele. Ends up being more of a sweaty gammon tap room.
J. T.
Nice place to people watch near station and roof terrace for train spotting
o.
nice enough place, but only good for people who work in the financial sector as it is expensive like a lot of places in Leeds now. quite noisy too.
A. P.
Always a great atmosphere here after work.
S. C.
Good beer selection
A. K.
We went for a STEN do, the couple hired iut the 2nd floor, drinks and food were great, my Husband's only complaint there was no milk to make a White Russian 😀
T.
Nice place, close to the station. Friendly staff, very nice draft pale ale
R. P.
Great beer! Great atmosphere. Food was good. Watch out for the quesadilla, it is hotter than the face of the sun. 😁
M. S.
Nicely laid out. Excellent pint of Leeds Pale. Conveniently located near the station, which could attract riffraff, but not to be seen when I was in there.
C. T.
Right near the station. Good range of local brewery ales etc. Good snacks and food. Outdoor terrace (first floor) nice atmosphere. Plenty of space.
D. H.
Proximity to station means usually busy and lively. Another Leeds Brewery pub - not bad at all, just a little crowded at times.
T. J.
Fish sandwich was amazing. Lovely cider on tap. Staff friendly. Perfect lunch time!!
R. F.
The best pub in Leeds for a beer and food combo - right by the station, it boasts it,s own brewery upstairs, surprisingly good food and is wonderfully chilled for city-centre rush hour or hiding-from-work drinks.
A. L.
Extensive selection of ales and beers. Typical, very busy pub located next to a train station. If you go in with that expectation you won't be disappointed.
M. N.
Always 1st stop on arrival. Good selection and Camra discount
G. m. (.
Food was really good and tasteful, maybe lacking in salt. Has a balcony where you can enjoy a drink and a good range of beers
E. A.
Great range of beer, nice staff and a great location by the station to meet up before heading on into Leeds.
A. R.
A great pub with a good selection of beers.
D. T.
Bit dear... But nice place two floors and an outside seating area
B. H.
Decent set of beers on top of the Leeds brewery standard. Food OK but could have a bit more variation.
A. W.
Good for drinks after work for those who want to use the station. Good selection and reasonable price for it's location.
D. C.
Always worth a visit on the way our of a trip into town or on the way back.
Great beer, great staff and during the day excellent food.
a. d.
Went there last nite for food and a beer and what a friendly place very willing and helpful with my food allergies and tasted lovely with a choice of 4/5 real ales was just what the doctor ordered definitely worth another visit
M. H.
Nice place for a last drink while waiting for the train home. Good atmosphere and not too busy.
J. W.
Great beer served well.
j. s.
Excellent choice of beer.Good service but if on night out-Need to be aware quite a small establishment.
T.
Nice bar with good selection of ales, quieter during the week but usually quite busy on a weekend.
L. S.
Absolutely fantastic service, thank you for being so nice! The beer was great too! Very yummy burgers!
A. S.
Nice place close to Leeds train station
M. V.
Fantastic city pub
R. B.
Leeds brewery tap. Great beer. Loses a star as often too crowded and a little expensive compared to other bars locally
F. G.
Good selection of ales, upstairs room great for a birthday. Location is fantastic right next to station.
J. H.
