Lovely cosy, festive atmosphere and good food, although every time we book in advance for Boxing day lunch there is always some confusion over the booking!
We stayed overnight this time and had a lovely breakfast: the locally baked pastries were fabulous! Also the staff were kind enough to let us book in an hour early so that we could get changed out of our walking gear, ready for lunch.

This is a small pub created in two adjoining Grade 2 listed 18th century Georgian cottages in Castle View, Leicester (which have been used by a clock maker and a fine art restorer in it's history). It was opened in May 2018 by De Montfort University for it's students and staff but is now open to the Public.
It is quite cosy - probably could hold about 20-25 people at a tight pinch. It has a "snug" room (on right) with tables and seating and a "bar" which is standing only with shelves on two of the walls to place your pint/drinks on.
Has only two hand pumps. The guest beers in when I visited yesterday were Foxpaw from local Leicester brewery Framework along with one from Archers (Notts).
Has a disabled accessible entrance/exit but no disabled toilet as it's only toilet is up steps.
NB:Be aware - it only has a single unisex toilet!

Just called in when passing but they were closing soon after so will visit again now I know their hours. It's a nice, small, quaint hideaway with local ale

Nice and small and quiet. Very quaint. Limited beer selection but what they have is good.
