My girlfriend and I were looking for somewhere to grab a quick bite on the way home. The food was amazing, and the staff were incredibly catering and welcoming. Will definitely be returning

Just had a family gathering at this pub 9 adults and 2 children. The food was very good and the staff were great. The food came out hot and we all ate at the same time ,no lengthy delays between one person getting their food and another waiting for theirs. PS the music was great.

This pub is continuing its steps to remain covid secure currently, especially if you alert them of your preferences. Good spacing in seating areas in and out, table services available with ordering online also available. Huge outdoor space. Limited menu currently, occasional pop up kitchens also, but they do do good gluten free pizza! Friendly staff, plenty of parking, Riverside setting in one outdoor area. Dog drinks readily available!

Really friendly staff, especially the manager who went out of her way to make us welcome. Good range of beers and solid, pub food. Furnishings were comfortable, if a little dated. Garden area for children looked interesting. All in all a good choice for a comfort break and refuel.

Had an early lunch here on a Monday and was very happy with service and our meal. We had a chicken and a veg burger and homemade chunky chips and they were delicious. Very covid safe with a one way system and staff using ppe and plenty of sanitiser.

Excellent pub with excellent food! We had the burger with chips and the steak pie with mash. Both really good with the chips being amazing really tasty with a perfect amount of seasoning. The burger was really tasty and the steak within the pie melted in your mouth and the accompanying filling complimented it. The staff are really attentive and friendly and the experience was really enjoyable. Will definitely be visiting here again!

Our family came for a meal to celebrate My sister’s birthday and had an fantastic time. The staff are very friendly and helpful, there is a great selection of beers, lagers and ciders. The menu has some amazing choices with food locally sourced. They cater for different allergies and preferences ie gluten-free, lactose free/ dairy free, vegan/vegetarian meals so that each meal is an individual and unique experience. The gardens and seating extend right around towards the river and is so beautiful. There is a children’s play area, (obviously not near the river)! Thank You so much to the staff for such a perfect afternoon.

Absolutely fantastic, good food, reasonable prices, staff more than helpful, my husband and I arrived with our dog, 94 year old aunt and my 85 year old mum who's partially sighted and none of it was a problem. We visit my auntie every couple of months, we come from Bedford so it's nice to know the gate hangs well is there, we will certainly go back. We had steak and ale pie, liver and onions, ham and eggs and gammon steak. With excellent Apple pie and custard, ice cream sundae and waffle with strawberries and ice cream. Scrumptious.

We had been for a walk in the area and wanted somewhere to eat. With a name like it has, this pub needed a visit! There is a large car park and a large garden with lots of tables. Being December, we naturally chose to dine inside. We arrived quite late for lunchtime, but it was still quite busy. Despite there being a large group in there, the atmosphere was not noisy. Our food arrived promptly and we were both impressed with the portion sizes. It also tasted good and was very reasonably priced. All of the staff we dealt with were also very friendly, which made the whole experience very enjoyable. We would definitely return if in the area, but would probably book a table to ensure we got one.

Came down to the area on a lone business trip, and needed a place to eat. Wow am I glad I didn't drive past this one. The menu is better than most, and the food is excellent. I went for the lasagna and even my large appetite was almost beaten by the generous helping. Local ales outnumber the lagers thankfully and the staff were lovely. Lone diners can sometimes feel out of place.....but not here. Come one come all, you won't be disappointed.

Called in for a quick early afternoon pint with my brother. Originally from the are 50 to 35 years ago, don't think I've ever had a pint here. Compliments to the land lord, cracked glass, not chipped, just replace the whole pint. Seen it poured in to another glass in a few bars.

I have been to this pub on numerous occasions, with family and friends. It's a real traditional pub, which has been decorated making it modern but keeping the cosy atmosphere of an old pub. The kids have so much space to play in outside. The river garden is adults only which is a great attribute to have, as not all pubs do. The whole place is a sun trap on a sunny English day. They have a lovely menu, with lots of choice for the size of pub it is. The food is excellent quality and is freshly main. A mix of traditional, international and good old burgers. Staff are friendly and helpful. There is even the odd duck who visits while swimming down the river the pub is situated. Well worth a visit and even having your wedding reception or family gathering. Went Saturday afternoon about 2 ish, place was empty. Decent choice of food at 5.99 e.g. ham and chips, curry, pie and mash etc and food was good. 3 ales to choose from, plus lagers, the red wine also good, the trouble was that both wine glasses had got lipstick stains on them, the glasses were changed with no fuss but the point is the stains shouldn't have been there in the first place!!
