Lovely pub. They had a few veggie dishes on their menu, I had the veggie sausages and mash. Loved that the portions were so big!! Went on a Saturday evening and had a great atmosphere and not to forget the service was fab. Everyone who served us was super friendly! Will be going back again!

Great customer service, though one can expected this of this establishment based on its target clientele. Going further, they had helped organise the private room for our occasion and had even been able to accommodate for some extra guests. Very good general experience and atmosphere. In addition, the waitress had some good rapport/banter with the group. The food was good. It was cooked to a high standard and came out in a timely manner. There were a couple mistakes but that can be expected considering the number of us present. Only reason for not 5 stars is the price point was a little on the higher side and the few mistakes with the order. Otherwise very happy with it and will definitely revisit 👍🏾

Half way meeting place with a friend for brunch. First time here. Wow! Not disappointed. Lovely setting, interior, friendly, attentive staff and welcoming. Buttermilk pancakes with bacon and maple syrup were delicious. Will definitely return ☺️

Booked a meal for five of us today, first visit to the Forge, will not be our last. From the moment we arrived the service was welcoming and efficient. We enjoyed three courses from both the carvery and the standard menu, the food was superbly cooked and presented and the waiting staff were attentive without being intrusive. I can't remember the last time I had a dining experience this complete, it was certainly some time ago. If you're thinking of going, I recommend it and I'm not easily pleased.

Went on Tuesday 2 weeks ago, quite quiet which was good as it was still on lockdown. They followed all Covid rules, masks, table service & distancing. Staff was wonderful, polite, helpful, friendly & always available for us. It’s a beautiful pub with garden area, outside smoking area & free parking with disabled parking spaces. Unfortunately food was just ok.

We visited here for Sunday lunch. It was very busy and our booked table wasn't ready, this wasn't a problem for us though. The Manager kept us updated whilst we had a drink. When we got seated we were very well cared for by the staff who checked if we needed drinks etc frequently. The food was delicious, tasty, hot and well presented. We went here for my uncles wake on Monday, we're not local to the area but my auntie said it's a family favourite of theirs. We were greeted by 2 very welcoming and friendly bar tenders to order drinks. We had a gorgeous buffet for the wake and there was plenty of food to go around with lots of leftovers. All staff were extremely attentive and polite. Made sure the tables were cleared regularly and felt very welcome the whole time. Would definitely recommend anytime.

Eaten here a few times and the food is always excellent with great, polite and friendly service from all the staff. The menu is good, the children's portions are generous and good quality. The seating is well thought out and the surroundings are clean and well kept. As a result it can be quite busy, and I would recommend booking in advance for busy times.

Service was very mixed, some very helpful and some presumably very new to taking drinks and food orders. Food seemed a little pricey but when my burger arrived it was a meaty feast! Probably won't rush back mainly on account of it seeming harder work rather than relaxing and easy like it should be. Took three times to get one person's pint right for example. Place has been modernised nicely though and plenty in the menu I would have liked to try.

Lovely pub that's geared up for diners more than drinkers, I've been going there for a couple of pints and always sit outside as I'm still not comfortable inside pub's, but they never dry their tables off after it's been raining, they probably think nobody will be sitting outside in December, but I do.

Love our local as it is really friendly and a good ambience.... but... just lately the food has let it down. Had food twice in the last 2 weeks off the main menu and dissapointed both times. Steak is expensive for the tiny portion you get, one slice of tomatoe over a big mushroom and small portion of chips, small steak arrived well done instead of medium and 1/3 was inedible and chewy. My flatbread/ chicken dish came and flatbread was rock hard. Decided to eat there again so 2 adults had fish and chips thought we would play it safe.... chips were like the scrap ends from a chippy and fish was full of greasy batter. I decided to go with small plates again to play safe and the prawns were like rubber with no real taste of garlic..... Come on the forge...get your act together else you will be losing a lot of custom !! Expensive food and poor quality at that......

Amazing food and service. Have eaten here for a long time and never had a good meal. We were somewhat fussy when we went. I have allergies which were taken seriously even to account for me trying other people's starters as well as my own. We also asked for some small dish amendments which were well accommodated for. Food here is not cheap, but it will be a good sized plate and will be consistently well cooked.

Lovely atmosphere we were there in a bit of a rush but the staff did there best and let us know all the timings for food and drink. They checked on us often enough and there was a radiator under our table that was lovely after walking in a winter chill! The food was lovely no one had a complaint and they were happy with altering a dish to your request. Overall definitely worth it, you can find the menus online and it's best to book in as it can be quite popular.

We held my father's wake here and the staff were lovely and accommodating of all our requests. Despite the solemn circumstances under which I was there, the atmosphere was homely and inviting and the food they had arranged was wonderful (and plentiful). Sunday lunch was nice, generous portions, lovely beef. Rather expensive though considering you had to buy things such as mashed potato as a side. Pub was too hot for us and the table for two we had was right next to the waitresses station, so not very private. Brilliant service.

Loved the food in this pub. Extremely well cooked and presented. One of the few pubs where they know how to cook salmon (in most pubs it comes out overcooked and dry). Pretty much a regular at this place now. The food is not just great, it's consistently great. Which normally is the let down at places like this... One amazing chef and others below par. This place however, spot on every time. The staff as well are up there with the best. It's not a huge team, so you see a lot of the same faces, meaning they work a lot of the time, and every time i go in they're lovely, friendly, helpful and genuinely seem happy. Given that a lot of the times i go there it's on a lovely sunny day to sit for food and drink, to not see staff that are hating life is a surprise, as you can normally understand their annoyance of having to work, which i get. Great look, great food, great staff.

I've been here a number of times for food with friends. There has always been quite a long wait for food to come out, it might just be high demand but I've waited for a good 45 mins before for a main. Food is good quality on the whole, drinks for me are quite expensive here. Decor is nice, decent size car park and outdoor seating a plenty.

The forge is currently open for take away food and soft drinks/coffee/tea only. You can wait out side for your order to be brought out to you, but currently there is no outdoor seating, only take away, until lockdown restrictions are lifted I presume. I had a hot cheese and gammon ciabatta, which was scrummy.

Check in was rapid. Room was small but clean and quiet. Drop off and pick up from airport was efficient. I waited less that 2 minutes in the airport carpark after ar for the pickup. Car was returned in same condition as I dropped off. Price for accomodation and 5 days parking was only a fiver more than silver zone. Overall would definately do again if have early flight and a short trip. 4 stars as hot water in shower ran pretty quick leaving me with a COLD (like freezing) shower.
