I had a very good experience whilst I came to visit, due a lot to the waitress that was serving me throughout the time I was there. Keira helped me feel comfortable in my experience, making sure to ask if I needed any sauces and ensuring that I enjoyed my meal. I don't think I have had such a lovely experience with a waitress before, and I definitely will be coming back again.

Ok for a beer but steak I had was only average. Asked for medium rare, came well done but at the low price kind of expected it. Basic pub grub and dog friendly, except not on the carpet so limited to seating if inside with a dog. Service was prompt (quicker to get a beer via the app than wait at the bar). Waitress did forget she had gone off to get us cutlery so by the time another waitress sorted us had ate my chips and tucked into a cooling steak.

I went to Lion and Snake for after work drinks with a coworker and really enjoyed the serviss:) Everyone is very friendly and welcoming and they have a great range of drinks on offer. The manager even came out and served us and she seemed to have a very good relationship with her staff. I'll be coming back with more friends as I think this is a great local pub!!!

We are so impressed with all the staff at the Lion and Snake. We hired the function room for a wedding last weekend and the buffet was brilliant. So much food and the deserts were amazing. Rebecca and Liam were so helpful (hope I spelt your names right). Drink prices are reasonable, nice area outside with plenty of tables. We will be back soon.

Visited here on Saturday just gone whilst we were in the area, found the staff extremely helpful and very lovely. Dog friendly and the bar lady also gave our two doggies treats and water, thanks for catering for us and will be coming back again.

Along with my wife, I attended a military reunion at the Lion and Snake on Saturday 10th September. The venue could not have been better! The staff were all very friendly and attentive and the buffet that was laid on for us was outstanding. I let the venue know ahead of the gathering, through the reunion organisers, that my wife had special dietary needs. I’m pleased to say the venue went above and beyond to ensure these needs were met. A big thank you to all the Lion and Snake staff for your hospitality.

I went to the Lion and Snake yesterday when it was busy, but the friendly staff efficiently served through the waiting queue, and I was served quickly. Great choice of ales, I enjoyed them all. Will be back during my next Lincoln visit.

Loads of room, great selection of drinks, olde worldy decor mixed with big screens and a sumptuous menu. Staff are very friendly and don't mind uf you need to shift the tables about. Beer garden is all tarmac which gives a level footing for wobbly customers. Many nights out start from here making superb for people watching. Function room available. A lovely rest stop while exploring the Bailgate area. 10/10

Went to lunch on Saturday September 3rd with the other members of Harthill Morris. Despite being extremely busy with other visiting Morris teams, everyone was served quickly and efficiently and the food was excellent. Then we danced in their courtyard!

Update 2021 September food gone down hill and dirty toilets and dryer not working, not impressed standards gone. Carrots raw peas hard sausages frozen cheap and the mixed grill was over done and horrible. Thank you for looking after me and providing a great service. A lovely place to visit 2019

Located in the beautiful area of Lincoln by the cathedral. It's a Marstons chain pub so plenty of classics on there. We had a random selection of foods. One being the sharing nachos and they were amazing, a little stuck together from the cheese so it was messy but lots of napkins to hand so we didn't care that much. I must say the staff on shift the day we went were superb, one of the food choices was cheesy garlic bread, they didn't have any but they sent a lad running to another Marstons pub down the road (300m approx) to check there. None to be found so they can out to tell us and we were refunded. Beautiful pub and outside seating with plenty of selfie opportunities with the cathedral towers poking over the roof tops. Definitely will be going again.

A visit to historic Lincoln on a crisp cold but sunny day might for some be a roll of the dice or clutching at straws in an attempt to wish away the winter and focus on the harbingers of spring. And, there is no ground hog called Phil to soothsay and hasten that process. However, let's not get ahead of ourselves, The clear skies, sunshine at an angle unseen in main season and semi dry cobblestones are a magic to behold in themselves. And... Seeing the Dickensian style buildings in the twilight and the sun, blanket the sides of a huge multi faceted piece of medieval artwork in the form of a cathedral has the same effect as discovering a treasure, something truly wonderful that you would want to capture, savour and share with those you love. Alas how can a rectangular screen even on a £900 smartphone convey even minutely, the twilight, the panoramic beauty, the smile of those around you. The smell of wood smoke of an open fire adjacent, or the tactile feel of cobbles at your feet? It is only possible to enjoy this by being there and indulging all of your senses. After you have wrung every second of indulgence from your surroundings! What now? There are two options, get in the car or bus and terminate the experience like an anti climatic lead weight... Or ... Wind down the experience like a feather gently descending going hither and thither and eventually and gently coming to rest. This is where our visit to the Lion, and snake took us. As soon as we walked through the door, the feel of warmth on our skin and the comfortable surroundings matched with the attentive and friendly disposition of the staff reminded us that our barrel was not empty and that more was in store. A nice tasty meal delivered hot along with a delicious drink has us recounting what we had just experienced and how we were going at least, attempt to convey it to our loved ones. In an unhurried respite from the cold this was just the perfect ending to a perfect day. A special thank you to the bar manager who went that extra step of the way to make that happen. We shall return.

We’ve been coming here for many years. The Ale is fantastic, as is the food. We throughly enjoy eating a burger, with a nice pint in the beer garden during the summer. Furthermore, the Cathedral looks over you, what more can you ask for, in central Lincoln? Beautiful place with great vibes. A must visit if you’re in Lincoln!

Went for a pint with my mate - was lovely. When it came to closing time though we were told to drink up very quickly when we'd only just got there I mean I understand there's a global pandemic on but the rushed experience did detract a little from the enjoyment of my nice cold beer. Other than that no complaints - a lovely beer garden with a beautiful view of the cathedral.

Looked a nice old fashioned pub so we decided to try the food. They had a lunch time special on the menu and we ordered at the bar. Expected the discount to apply when the till totalled but it didn't. We queried it and were told the discount only applied between 2-4pm. When we checked the menu again we saw a rectangular box had been drawn around the time in the menu to obliterate the 1 in the number 12. I photographed it. Hmm. Not nice. All the menus were marked the same. We talked about it, feeling stitched up, but having arranged to meet in the Bailgate and on time constraints we decided to stick it out . The food and service was very good but the menus need reprinting.

Great pub. We booked a table for lunch Saturday afternoon (29th May) we got to enjoy it out in the sunshine in the beer garden. The staff were very attentive to everyone, our food was served pretty quickly and was delicious. Definitely advise you to book in advance as it's a very popular pub, great atmosphere and brilliant staff.

Firstly can't call the staff they were very helpful and polite, with good service during this stressful time. Why 3 stars, the classic burger both beef and chicken was dry no dressing or mayonnaise. The fries were few and the salad consisted of a lettuce leaf. When asked about the onion rings or mayonnaise the answer was they had run out. Hopefully management read this and take it onboard as it is a lovely pub.

Generally like it how ever I found some of the bar staff rude. I had a pint of beer which I had had 3 prior in here and yhisbone smelt like someone had just had a cigarette and touched the glass it smelt like an ashtray. When I pointed this out to the bar person who served me he sniffed it and said that's supposed to taste like that. Then just handed my pint back and walked off. So will probably avoid going back unless I really have to and then I shall stick to bottled drinks..... Shame really as I used to love this pub.
