Stopped here for something to eat after visiting the castle and having a nice walk around Lincoln. The member of staff who served us was fantastic great service and very friendly. The food was exceptional we both really enjoyed our meals I would certainly recommend a visit.

This pub is nice, very quiet on the night I went but I think it gets very busy on a Wednesday? The staff were friendly and the atmosphere was nice for a pint with some friends. There is a very nice pool and darts room. From what I saw there is somewhat limited seating in the bar area, but I think there is a restaurant area. The menu looks delicious but unfortunately they weren't serving food on my visit. The pub is quite dark inside, but doesn't feel outdated. A nice place to visit, but I was surprised at the price. I ended up paying about £6 for a pint. I would go back for food, but I think it is quite pricey for a few pints. It is well located in Lincoln though, right across from where we were staying!

Have been here a couple of times over the past few months, there is never enough staff on, there has always been an issue, broken coffee machine, staff unable to make cocktails, there's an event on so couldn't take good orders so had to wait an hour to order food. Food has been good every time but service is bad

First time for my parents' dog in a pub away from home. Staff were extremely accommodating. Sunday roast was very enjoyable. A word of warning to the ambitious when they say giant Yorkshire puddings they mean GIANT.

We booked to go here for my daughter's 25th birthday, simply because they offered a free birthday meal with a party of five or more! Unfortunately, her boyfriend was very unwell on the day, and couldn't join us ☹️ I really thought they would honour the free birthday meal under the circumstances, but they wouldn't entertain it, so we might have well have gone where we wanted to!! Saying that, the food and service were beautiful. Just a shame they couldn't even do a free drink or pudding for the birthday girl!! 😏

Really good attentive staff and good food. Only issue was that when we booked we thought we would be in the restaurant as per the website images. . On arrival we where shown a table adjoining the bar. We where told when numbers of customers where low they closed the restaurant. Not a very pleasant eating area with noise from the bar. Shame really.

Haven't been in this pub for several years. At that time it was looking rather tired and in need of a full refurbishment. I went in with my brother and his wife, initially for a quick pint. On entering I was very pleasantly surprised. It was under new management and had thankfully, been very tastefully refurbished with plenty of dining space and bar room. We then thought why not check out the menu- which was really excellent. So we decided to have a meal. The service was first class. Staff were very attentive. When the food arrived it was piping hot, very well presented and very tasteful. In fact my sister-law was so impressed she booked the whole dining area for my brother's 65th birthday in August 2020! I personally would have no hesitation in recommending this establishment for a decent pint and/or a meal.

Was nice and layout is good. Only downside was I enquired about booking an outside table for 8 and was told no bookings for outside but wouldnt be a problem as plenty of space. Turn up and sit in a group of 8 and get told to move our tables apart and then told we cant eat outside in a group of 8 but can eat in two groups of 4 (same thing? Still 8 people eating?)

Hadn't been here in a couple of years, so it'd changed quite a bit - turns out it's a lot nicer than it was! They've gone a lot more up-market and high-quality throughout. I visited with a large party and we all enjoyed our food (the chips are great!). Seems they also offer a function room for weddings, parties and events.

Why this place isn't packed to the rafters is beyond me. This pub/restaurant has a lovely atmosphere, excellent staff and a truly talented chef and kitchen crew. I have had one of the best 3 course meals I have ever had. The menu choice is also varied and interesting. I would highly recommend the Stags Head to everyone. If you haven't been do yourself a favour and go. You will definitely want to go a second time.

Great service from start to finish,we have an autistic son so were placed in a quieter part of the restaurant which was no problem for jenna to sort out. The meat was great quality and our server joe was polite and friendly,the choice and quality of vegetables were brilliant we will definitely be coming back again.

Been going here ages and the recent change of ownership has been positive. The staff are very friendly and the food is fantastic. I would highly recommend the help yourself sunday carvery, it's not for the faint hearted. If you are a lover of quality food the evening meals are a nice treat but not cheep. Sit back and enjoy.

This place has been recently refurbished (since my last visit about 2 years ago). The service, food and staff all merit laudatory comments. We were met by staff, given a very warm welcome (Stacey) and had a great lunch. Highly recommended for business, family and friends as a venue of choice.

Went for carvery at the stags. You go up to get what you want. The only thing is say about this is that when we went up they closed it for 10mins whilst they filled up the vegtables etc because they said they wanted it all to be fresh. But whilst the new stuff was fresh the other bits that they didn't change had just sat there longer. Very strange didn't make sense and an unnecessary delay. It tastes nice and is good value.

Visiting Lincoln for the first time and was looking for a "good" Sunday lunch. Google came up with The Stag and what a find. Absolutely awesome. Pub is lovely, staff all really friendly and food was great. Highly recommend to anyone who is in the area.

My Nannas wake was held here and it has always been a lovely little pub but it has recent6beckme expensive. My mum paid £500 for food catering and the amount of food put out was probably worth £100, yes I know you don't just pay for the food but what was put into it was not worth £500. And for a tray of chips they asked for £30! The bar itself would of made a mint that day especially with people staying until the evening in memory of my Nan. Would not recommend this place for an occasion.
