A fantastic birthday meal and had an amazing selection of everything, from wines to rums, the hosts and staff were amazing, hidden away, simply amazing will be returning :)

It's Gin heaven!! Delicious food and mouth watering Gins. The gin choice is amazing, they are absolutely delicious and garnished with fresh fruit to enhance the flavours. The atmosphere of the place is very cosy and extremely welcoming. Will definitely be returning on a regular basis. Thank you Jo and Paul for your lovely hospitality.

The service was outstanding, such a chilled and friendly atmosphere. Food was yummy and plentiful- eyes bigger than my belly as usual. Such a vast menu of gins I was spoilt for choice. Highly recommend and we will definitely be back ourselves.

Third visit here Saturday evening, we were lucky to get table - its popular venue now, so best to book ahead. Has truly fantastic wine list and amazing gin menu. The best Fever tree products to go with the gin. If having a good dinner, there's excellent range of ports to try. They have regular speciality food/ drink evenings planned for the autumn evenings, reasonably priced night out. Has a very upmarket feel, good location between High Street and Brayford. Hosts are very friendly, knowledgeable and steer you into good choices. Staff are friendly and helpful and bar, tables, toilets are spotless

Always a pleasure to visit. Not only is this a pleasant place to be with friendly staff, they actually know what they are talking about when it comes to gin! This is particularly good if you have a mate who isn't overly fussed by gin as they will find their new favourite drink here. Foods good too.

Definitely a hidden gem of Lincoln, beside the wines, cocktail and of course gin! The best aspect would be (in my option) the above and beyond service I received from the staff - always polite and had the best advice for wines to drink. Apart that the interior layout creates a lovely/intimate setting, great for dates, group meals and catch-up.

Tucked away this bar is a find. It stays away from the more rowdy crowds to give a more sophisticated experience whilst still maintaining a comfortable atmosphere. It has an excellent selection of gins, you'd need to go a lot to try them all! All I've tried so far have been amazing. The staff are very friendly and knowledgeable. The drinks are very reasonably priced too. A perfect place for a few drinks or a tasting night

This is a great bar with an excellent menu that details the choice of various spirits and wines on offer and that are accompanied by which mixer is recommended for each. Nice ambience with staff that are a true credit to the establishment.

There is an amazing selection of Gins and Wine to pick from. The menu has some yummy treats from platters for yourself or ones to share. They also have starters, mains and desserts to pick from if the platters don't suit you. The whole evening was enjoyable, the staff friendly and welcoming ☺️ Looking forward to going back again

The Pessimist is one of our favourite places to visit in Lincoln, lovely staff and atmosphere. The gin list is AMAZING!! And the menu has recommended tonics which are always a great match. The staff will also recommend gin based on your taste and have fantastic knowledge. It does get busy so I'd always book as you don't want to miss out!!

Large variety of gins with special offers on a range. Quite expensive but lovely for a cosy drink!

Maybe a little more expensive than other places in Lincoln but was partially justified by the range of drink available. The food sharer plates looked good. It is table service so that was pleasant and met the owner, who turned out to be more than happy to chat and try to find out what gin might be best for your tastes. Would highly recommend and the Malbec Port to suit, delicious.

I had a super evening at The Pessimist with some friends last night and felt extremely welcome by Paul and Jo and all of the staff there. Needless to say we tasted some exceptional gins from the infinite range available and also enjoyed some nibbles too. The atmosphere is conducive to conversation and relaxation and 4 hours flew by in the blink of an eye. I can't wait to return!

Fab bar tucked and hidden away adding to its uniqueness. The atmosphere is relaxed and the gin menu extensive. The descpition of each gin takes you on a sometimes magical journey of how it is created. Never tried the food but have seen the platters of meat and cheese waft by which look equally as intriguing as the gins. Crazily inexpensive this place is an absolute must for gin and wine lovers alike. The hosts are engaging and know their menu very well so anyone stuggling to choose from the pages and pages of divine gins ;they are there to help. Book your table to save disappointment x
