Really nicely decorated quirky pub, fantastic beer selection with craft beers and even Czech Budvar (haven’t seen that on draft anywhere else, delicious). A bit pricier than other pubs in the city but expected being on Steep Hill. Recommended.

Classy bar and diner (we only had drinks btw). Amazing menu of beers - see photo). Got a bit noisy once music went on as everyone just raise their voices over the music ... for me the music did not add anything to the experience. Would definitely visit again when we are back in Lincoln. We were there for the Call of the Wild rock festival. Beautiful place, quainter than York, very hilly so good exercise.

Lovely pub on Steep Hill. Came on a Tuesday around 6pm so was still relatively quiet but that's how I feel like it. The bar man was friendly and knowledgeable about the cocktail menu. We ordered 2x Nutella Martinis which were glorious! So much so, two more were ordered within half hour. Would definitely visit again.

Fantastic and knowledgeable staff, one of the most impressive collections of Belgian beers I have seen outside of a Carrefour in Brussels. Here you have a choice of draught or bottled/canned beers. And if this sweet nectar does not tickle your taste buds, a very quaffable choice of cocktails is readily available. All of this is finished off by very respectable prices.

Every time I'm in Lincoln I visit. Great vibe, fantastic service and an amazing variety of drinks. If you're not sure what you want the bar tender will for sure whip something up for you! Highly recommended.

Lovely evening out. Straight and Narrow has over 100 beers which in itself is impressive. They do beer sales as well (we got some 3.95 craft cans that should DEFINITELY have been closer to the £7 mark each), the staff were fantastic and couldnt have done more for us, and on top of the hilarious and very tongue in cheek celebrity posters advising on their favourite cocktails, Straight and Narrow have figured out their way around social distancing by installing a free landline phone on each of the tables. Which is hilarious. We rang a group of strangers to ask if their refrigerator was running. Poor chap must have had a few too many as he replied 'i'm sorry, i'm in the pub' 🤣

I cannot believe I had not left a review until now. Where to begin... This bar became my local watering hole while I lived in Lincoln to complete my masters at the uni. I believe by the time I had left Lincoln I had tried around half of the cocktails on the menu, not a small accomplishment considering the variety. Some might see such large menu and think that they must have cut back on the quality to develop so many drinks, but nothing could be further from the truth. Every cocktail I have ever had at the Strait has been carefully prepared and the recipes are well thought through before they are served on the menu. You might think by all my focus on the mixed drinks that that is all there is to find at the Strait, but again that would be false! The craft brews that are on tap and behind the bar are also delightful, and well worth the stop for a quick half pint on the way down Steep Hill. However, if you are like me, the reasons I go to the Strait are twofold, their Whisky and their staff. The Strait has the finest Bourbons available in the world (confirmed by this American). I would gladly pay the cost of a transatlantic flight to go back and have a single of the Pappy Van Winkle that they keep on the top shelf. But it would feel incomplete if I did not have it served by one of my friends behind the bar. The men and women who work at the Strait have always made me feel at home there, and I gladly say that I left a few very good friends in Lincoln and shed many tears in the parting. In short, this is the pub if you want the best pint, the best cocktail, the best single spirit, and the best company in Lincoln.

Definitely one of the best bars I have ever been to. Excellent choice of beers on tap and draft, solid wine menu, but it's all about the exceptional liquor selection. Lovely place shame about the very rude bouncer in the evening, for those who dont know this is the second time I’ve encountered this hence the need to post otherwise I would never leave anything but good reviews. As you will see from my history I give nothing but 5 stars but you really need to access the way the bouncers treat your customers rather than being sarcastic and rude for no reason be professional, it is not inviting at all your attitude and if I was from another city I would not re visit

Amazing bar, amazing staff. Cannot recommend highly enough! Have always had an excellent evening at this bar during my Uni days. Took my partner up from London last year and had a blast. I contacted the team to see if they could help me create a craft beer strait crate curated to my partner for his birthday. They were very helpful, using his Untapped profile to inform the choices. My partner loved the box - the beers, and the treats. They even disguised it as a box of sweets so he wouldn't cotton on when it was delivered! The "Strait Exchange" is a delight. For social distancing each table has a landline phone with which you can order from the bar or natter to other tables. Utterly charming. The cocktail menu and beer selection are as good as ever too.

The watermelon sugar cocktail is quite devisive.... Tastes like watermelon versus smells like burned plastic and tastes like death... 😁)

A great selection of ales, wonderful cocktails, friendly staff, great decor and comfy seats. Music is varied and caters for most tastes. Never had or seen any trouble. Can be cramped at busier times, but that's just a sign of it's popularity. As with the more upmarket places in Lincoln, can be pricey, but you only get what you pay for I believe.

Great atmosphere and decor, a little pricey, however, service was great and drink selection is absolutely massive. Many, many beers on tap and bottled, all very unique or craft beers and ales. Cocktails can be made with a massive selection of different spirits. Staff were all very smiley and chatty. Music selection is great.

The cocktails are well made by knowledgeable staff who know there stuff and always friendly. Prices are good value for the quality and decor is cool too. We booked a table in advance for 8-10pm. We had to wait 5 mins which was fine. Service was good at the table which made it a relaxing experience. My only negative was that at 9.30pm we were told of booking had finished even though I had booked till 10pm. The table had been double booked so we were asked to leave. Eventually we were found another table till 10.15pm. This situation could have been avoided as it nearly made our evening end abruptly. Would have been 5 stars without the faff!

I blow hot and cold with the Strait & Narrow. On a quiet evening, when you can actually talk to the bar staff this is a great place to be. On a busy evening I'd rather walk by and go somewhere else because it is pure mayhem. The bar is very well stocked and the service great so no wonder it's popular, but sometimes it can be crazy busy and take 20 minutes just to get served.

This place is always on the list of places to visit when on a night out or just for a great cocktail! But due to the current situation of COVID and my 30th birthday being in lockdown I decided to use their "Strait Crates" service and order cocktails to my home. ABSOLUTELY AMAZING!! I ordered Espresso Martini, South Pacific and Ameretto Sours and I can say they were all amazing! I loved that you just had to shake with ice then serve! They even came with their own garnishes! I would definitely order again, their customer service was impeccable and delivery was extremely prompt. Would highly recommended!! Thank you guys!

Only been here at the weekend so it waa very busy. But there was little wait at the bar aa they had plenty of staff and as we were only two we found a seat. Large selection of beers from across the world and massive cocktail list. Fair priced. The menus were all a bit sticky with spilled drinks as well as the table but I guess that's because it was busy.

Huge selection of continental beers and spirits. Visited recently and enjoyed my time there. I had a Belgian pilsner and Jameson chasers all surrounded by comfortable seating and music just loud enough to still hold a conversation. Place felt alot more upmarket than some other bars in town. The prices were a little steep and it can be difficult to get a drink on the weekends due to a large crowd.

This is a great bar, well worth a visit. Good location, great drink selection. Beer selection from around the world and the cocktails were as good as any of the London cocktail bars. Went for a few drinks after dinner and ended up staying all night. Playlist was an absolute belter as well.

It's a popular place and open late. I've been a few times and always expected more than I ended up feeling I got. Probably just the busyness of the place, the bar feels hurried and it gets more than a bit shoulder to shoulder. Get a table though and you can have a cracking time. Extensive bottled beer menu is a plus point. Not particularly quiet later in the evening.

Maybe the largest range of drinks found in a Lincoln pub, and one of the most popular as well. If you want to sit down while you drink, get there early as it gets packed pretty quickly due to the position it is in, and the easy going atmosphere.
