Ellie served us and was incredibly quick to serve, and was polite and professional at all times. The food we ordered was actually recommended by Ellie and what a recommendation it was too. Had a nice night, the food was lovely and then stayed on for a few drinks afterwards. Bar was busy but had to ask the manager to change my pint twice and then avoid the other guy serving as they were very flat, dont want to name and shame the guy but must have been new as the pints he made me were awful. Fella managing the place sorted it for me though, didn't catch his name. Other than that was a great evening and thoroughly enjoyed it.

Have visited H&H regularly since reopening enjoyed each visit. Staff have been great, felt safe and adequately distanced from other customers. Sadly, most recent visit was just after introduction of table service only . . And they just hadn't found the balance between staffing numbers and some kind of zonal system to ensure customers are served. The app wasn't working so that didn't help. But waiting for half an hour after main course for another drink and an offer of the dessert menu put us off staying any longer. It's a real shame because we had been keen to support our locals.

Me and my husband came in for lunch on friday, pub was quiet busy and had a nice atmosphere to the place. We order our food and received it promptly even though there was also a buffet being taken out at the same time. Food was delicious could fault it. The manageress on the bar was very bubbly and welcoming really made us feel at home. Seen her chatting to a few of the older gentleman that were in the pub also which is nice to see. Overall very enjoyable lunchtime date and we shall be back again soon.

Came in with my mum for our lunch yesterday about 1pm. Very lovely pub, we were greeted by a very lovely blonde lady who took our drink and food orders. Food came out after.about 15 minutes or so looked lovely very well presented and tasted great. Definitely a great place to go for a roast! Better than most pubs attempts for sure! After we finished a younger girl came over and collected our plates and asked if we were ready for our desserts which we were. Again out in just a few minutes and looks fabulous! Overall had a very nice afternoon with my mum and cant wait to come back and try the weekday menu.

Love this place, Came here for the 1st time in approximately 4 years for a drink with a mate. Very warm atmosphere, and I'm not talking about the open fire they have in the lounge. Staff very friendly and professional, never a long wait to get served and had all my favourite beers which is always a bonus. Everybody there pleasant and welcoming. I've not tried their food, maybe next time tho.

Visited with friends, who had a 7 week old baby and they made us all feel really welcome, which was nice as it's always nice to feel welcome in a pub especially when it's not your local. Came in Sunday with the family for our Sunday lunch. Have not been here for a few months as last time we came in it wasn't very good, the food wasn't great and the staff all seemed miserable. HOWEVER we thought we would give it another go as a few of our friends had said they had been in recently and that they really enjoyed the visit. We where not disappointed! We all had roasts my beef was lovely slightly overcooked as to how I would like it but still very tasty! My husband's beef rib was and looked fantastic. And the kids pork roasts where very food value also! The roast potatoes where so fluffy and crispy! Much improved since our last visit. Expect to see us again on Sunday!

Food was fantastic. Me and 2 friends came in for our lunch, I had the chicken pie and my friends had steak pie and a haddock. The pies where lovely! Very well presented and my friends haddock was massive! Two lads on the bar could have been abit more upbeat, both polite enough when I spoke to then but where stood on the bar looking very miserable the rest of the time. But apart from that lovely little pub I've not been to before.

Very warm and welcoming local pub. The staff where excellent and extremely friendly. Nice big spacious cad park and the beer garden looks great, bit to cold for us to sit outside but can imagine in the summer it is lovely. We had soup fish and I had a chocolate bomb and my other half has a brownie. The food was great! Very tasty and nice portions. We will be returning for sure! And would recommend this place to anyone looking for a nice dinning experience.

Came in at the weekend for our tea and a few beers with the lads. Food was excellent! Steaks cooked perfectly we all greatly enjoyed our meals! The staff where friendly and seemed to be enjoying themselves even though working. The music was abit now for our liking sometimes wasn't even sure if it was on but bar that very enjoyable. A few of our wifes met us later on in the evening and had some olive sharers and what not that they seemed to enjoy. My wife said she really enjoyed the selection of gins that where available. For a local pub, we all really enjoyed it and shall be back again this weekend! Hopefully have the music on a little louder though...

Went for a family birthday, it was years since we had been there it was very nice lovely fires to give a warm welcome. The meal l ordered was ok a little disappointed with the cut of steak a bit gristly but it was cooked the way l had requested so didn't feel like l should complain but perhaps l should have am sure they would have exchanged it so it was my own fault for not speaking up, lesson to learn l think. Would go back and perhaps order something else. Staff were pleasant and helpful.

Visited this pub on Wednesday, I was going to leave 4 stars as the staff on shift were very miserable and there was no quiz which I was very disappointed in as this was the main reason we came in. However, I have been before when the general manager was on shift and the place has a very different vibe to it, everyone seems very cheerful and seems to be enjoying there work. I will say that there was 8 of us and we all really enjoyed our meals the evening set menu is very good value for money and the food was delicious! Hopefully next time we come in the quiz will be on.

We came in on wednesday evening to enjoy this eat out offer that the hare and hounds are taking part in, although the pub looked full it still felt safe and controlled. We where told they had no steak available as they had sold out but we understood as we could see how busy it was and clearly people where taking full advantage of the offer, so we opted for the chicken and ribs, lasagne, a hotpot and a mixed grill with extra gammon instead of the steak. Could not have asked for nicer food it was absolutly delicious. Hot pot was a nice change never had it before and i really enjoyed it, my wifes chicken and ribs was huge! And my friends lasagne and mixed grill looked great aswell! We got told of a 30 minute was for food but it arrived in under 20 so i think they where just playing it safe. Never the less faultless night, really enjoyed it and great to see this pub getting back to where it belongs after this difficult time. We will be back this weekend to support your further.

Booked Sunday lunch for 2 at the Hare and Hounds and we both decided to order a roast dinner. The meal was very disappointing...Roast potatoes and Parsnips were clearly frozen and seemed to have been thrown in a deep fat fryer to heat them up..consequently they were rock hard and tasteless. The veg was green beans, cabbage and peas..again there was nothing fresh about them...they were all served in one mixed up soggy pile. Gravy was ok but not very hot. I asked for Cranberry sauce to go with the Turkey..they didnt have any. Desert was supposed to be Treacle pudding with vanilla ice cream. There was not the slightest taste of treacle..it was more of a bland bought-in microwaved syrup sponge and much of the ice cream had melted by the time it was served to us. The pub also has very confusing and misleading prices...so much of it was an additional £1.99 for this - £1.99 for that. Overall, we were very disappointed which is a shame because I've had many a pleasant meal there over the years but if this is the best they can do to try and bring people back under the Covid-19 situation then they need to do something about the standard of the food. Perhaps Gordon Ramsey could help 🙄 We would not recommend...although must say..the staff were all really nice.

Was abit hesitant about coming in as I visited this pub over Christmas and it wasn't great, service was hit and miss and the food wasn't what we were used to. But we came in anyway, give it another shot. Was really impressed! Food looked fabulous, tasted amazing. Service from the bar staff was also great, very friendly and professional. Came in last night, Monday 8th April, food was fantastic. New menu looks great pitty we couldn't try it all! I had the salmon which was cooked perfectly and my friend had the basil pesto pasta, it looks so fresh and vibrant! My friend said it was very tasty. Came in Saturday evening for tea with my family. Could not fault the place, service was brilliant. Beers where good I was drinking hop house and it was great, wife loved the kofu gin I think it was called... the Japanese one anyway. Food was fantastic, haddock and chips was cooked perfectly! Perfect roast beef. Came in sunday 9th about 3pm for our lunch. Lovely little pub, not been before my roast dinner was fabulous! Really enjoyed it. The wife's posh fish and chips looked great and she said it tasted great! The blonde girl that brought our food over was very polite and friendly, however the lad on the bar who served us was miserable as anything, I think he was the manager as he had a normal shirt on. But! Apart from that couldn't fault the place. Will be bringing my dad in Sunday!

Arranged with staff to have 50th Birthday Day Celebrations here on a Saturday Evening expected around 25 to 30 Family Members on the actual evening there was 40 of us ranging from 18 Months to 82 years old I can honestly say it was fantastic every meal was perfect staff were excellent organisation skills perfect, to manage such a large group(on a very hot evening) alongside other pub regulars honestly cannot thank your staff enough. I asked for a bin bag to help clear a little mess we had made with my Birthday Cake and a very young well mannered Gentleman came with the binbag and cleaned it all away. Excellent service by all your staff a fantastic night was had by all and other than the children we all stayed all night. Thank you so much.

Top quality establishment, a hidden gem in the local scenery. Staff were very attentive and friendly. Food was good solid pub food. Dessert was super sweet and drinks were first class. Popped in tonight for a few drinks and some food. When we got there, there was abit of a que at the bar. There was a problem with the tills that they were trying to sort out. The chef was on the tills and on the phone sorting them and the guys on the bar were doing what they could, while apologising for the wait. They finally got it sorted and we got our drinks, my girlfriend got some cocktail which she enjoyed and when our food came out it was very tasty. I dont normally post reviews but we just felt they dealt with the situation very well while keeping upbeat about it, having a laugh and a joke and informing all of us about what was going on. I've been places before that just have a que and absolutly fall apart. Really impressed with the staff here, we had not visited before but we will definitely be back.

The new management and staff really deserve alot of credit for turning it around. Beers are always good. Nice selection of spirits aswell. Our roasts were just fantastic. Nice chunky and fluffy yet crisp roasties, beed was delicious cooked to a lovely medium! Only thing in would pick up on is the vegetables are abit boring, could do with some cauliflower or broccoli, carrot and turnip something like that. Apart from that... faultless.

Came in on good Friday for our lunch and a few drinks. Sat in the beer garden which is a lovely addition to this pub! It was very very busy, alot busier than i was expecting but then I think more and more people are realising how much this pub has improved of late. I has the posh fish and chips and my friend had the salmon fillet, both cooked to absolute perfection, battered sea bass was something I've not had before but it was very very tasty. And my friends salmon wasnt dry or over done it was just perfect. The two girls on the bar, bless them, didnt stop all afternoon! We were here from about 1 till 6ish And they didnt get any help until a third girl came in about 5 I think. Credit to them though they didnt stop! Either serving the endless que at the bar or running the food out. At one point there was a chef helping by clearing plates from the end of the bar were people had just dumped them. I couldn't compliment this place more after a day like today.

Came in with my friends for lunch today wednesday 17th, I ordered the sirloin steak it was absolutely beautiful. Really nice piece of meat! Cooked perfectly and the peppercorn sauce was nice also. Rare that you can get a nice steak in pubs these days so always abit nervous when ordering a steak from a pub. However I will certainly be returning for another next week! Delicious!

Heard about the new menu starting on Instagram so came in for our tea Wednesday. Must say the new menu looks great! We had the karaage chicken and the crispy cauliflower bites both so so good. I had the new vegan moving mountains burger which was absolutely delicious! My husband had the asparagus and pesto pasta again delicious!! And then to top the night off, for dessert the berry tart and the strawberry prosecco cone were to die for! Could not fault a single thing. The only down fall was we where terrible at the quiz!
