Been here many times and went here yesterday with my Mum and Dad. Great place to eat in the heart of Liverpool city centre with friendly and professional staff and lovely food (I had the grilled chicken kebab). The only downside of yesterday's visit was the chips were not as hot as usual.

Glad we stopped to look at the brunch menu. Lovely and clean. Spacious. Fab decor. Food ordered at bar and didn't take very long to arrive. Generous portions. Well presented and very tasty. Staff very pleasant. My only thumbs down, and this is my own personal issue, was that the ladies toilet was up 2 flight of stairs. A little difficult for someone with arthritis. Other than that, a lovely visit 👍👍

Great selection of beers and good food. Andy the barman is really friendly and knows his beers. The screen shows all the beers on offer. Good variety of seating options (variety of booths, normal chairs tables etc.) Looks small from the entrance and is huge inside.

The new shape etc is so good, was mad busy Saturday afternoon but wait at the bar wasn't excessive. We didn't eat but the food looked nice and not to much choice. But enough to please, which I think is a good thing means the chef can put more effort into less dishes. I had a fruit cider, 1st time I'd ever tried one of these strawberry and lime I think, it was gorgeous 2nd one not so. Much more watery and not as much taste. I took it back the man checked it with a straw then immediately got me another, I realised the replacement was much darker so perhaps the pump had just been changed. Was easy to sort. We will be back.

The place was nice and quiet when I went midday and the food was amazing, like unbelievable. The fries were tasty, crispy, the giant onion rings were tasty and crispy also, loads of flavour. And best of all the 3x patty bourban maple burger was just simply delicious, with loads of flavour, from bourban, cheese, maple, bacon and the meat. Will certainly be going back again. I also tried the cheesesteak burger, a patty with a 4oz steak on top of it was also tasty and tender.

I came here on a date with my boyfriend whilst on our day out in Liverpool, and really enjoyed it. The food was delicious with great portions, cocktails were tasty, and the atmosphere was relaxing! The only reason I'm giving 4* instead of 5* is because the glasses they gave us water in weren't clean, other than that it was wonderful and I'll definitely be returning!

What a place, probably the best selection of beers I have ever seen, enjoyed a Kwak (in a kwak glass!) a 7% Kasteel and a Brooklyn on Draft, there were so many more, a lot of Trappist Beers available , that's so rare.... And my wife was kept happy with a really good cocktail selection. Food was really good too and the bar staff were so helpful.... I would love to have a bar like this closer to where I live, great place

Really good selection of ales on tap, interesting and quirky decor, friendly staff. It's also dog friendly. Didn't try the food but it seems fairly reasonably priced (all pizzas are £10, sides are £4, main courses between £10 and £14.50).

The place has a nice atmosphere and is excellent for small to medium sized group because of the amount of booths. The staff are brilliant they seem to provide table service for drinks occasionally when they can manage which is great. Accidentally split a nearly full pint when I was grabbing a menu. The bar staff came over and refilled the pint. Which was an unexpected and nice touch. Wide selection of bottled and draught beer. The food is reasonably priced and to a good standard. Very enjoyable visit.

One of my favourite places for a pint. I always try something new because it's constantly changing. Different beers from all around the world, with variable prices depending on the demand. It's like a game. I have to mention, their restaurant has some really good offers, so make sure you're hungry. There are even lunch offers if your self-control can handle it.

Limited food menu. Given mayonnaise over 1 month out of date with meal Vegan pizza was very good They deducted £20 deposit when I booked a previous meal and did not automatically refund this when they were unable to open the restaurant for that meal, due to street being closed by police. They had written my number down incorrectly so were unable to notify me that they could not open. There were 2 x 80yr olds in our group travelling from different parts of Liverpool on public transport and it was freezing. Thankfully we eventually found a table elsewhere.

Spent the evening here after doing a bus tour of Liverpool. They have lots of craft beers and one of my favorites Chimay. Friendly bartenders, good music, and great atmosphere. If you bring a phone charging cord, you can plug it into the wall at your table. Will come here again next time I’m in Liverpool.

Fab afternoon with the hubby at this place. Two young men (staff) couldn’t do enough. Food came in boxes, At first was a bit surprised but it was delicious. We have been to the head of steam twice as a group night out, and both times its been great. Putting a couple of the big tables together seated 14 of us no problem. Table service and food was great. Always seems to be busy but not over crowded when we attended early evening, but leaving a whole lot later. I would say it's not a young person's place, but there were a few young couples together wanting a bar with an atmosphere but still able to chat. Give it a try.

Really nicely done out pub. Very good selection of real ales available and the bar staff are happy to let you have a taste before you buy. Guest ales are changed regularly. Pub is clean and comfy. Food is offered with a good range of traditional pub food alongside some tapas sharing style plates. No loud and intrusive music, just a nice place to go for a few pints and a bite to eat. It was quiet when we went, Tuesday, so not sure how busy it would be at the weekend. It's pretty big though.

One of the finest pubs in Liverpool, almost endless list of beers and spirit's with regular guest ales and quite often rare drinks. The pub itself is clean and spacious so it's good for groups as well a quiet chat or to watch the football. The staff are always friendly and helpful and they serve alot of good quality food with a menu that constantly getting fresh things added. It's no wonder we go there quite often!

A chain pub which has a wide selection of cask & keg beers on tap as well as bottles and cans. Food is good quality too. Not great for watching football though as pot luck whether you can hear commentary and I have also experienced the tvs being turned off before the end of a match.

No loudmouths or football enthusiasts which made me feel positive on the people inside. Televisions throughout showing a popular UK sport news channel. Stopped off for a couple of drinks with another couple & my husband. Drinks reasonably priced. The staff were lovely and friendly & very helpful. Well lit clean interesting modern decor. Loved its style. Played great selection of music covering several genre's. Have a few retro computer games and board games. FANTASTIC IDEA. Bathrooms were clean and smelt fresh which is always a bonus. Eclectic mix of seating some more comfortable than others. Only down side was the music from the bar across the road (the empire). If you sat in the window area actually next to the window you could here their music playing so loud at times over the music playing in the head of steam.

Very large pub in Central Liverpool. Serves a wide range of lagers and real ales. It also has a reasonable lunch and dinner menu if you are OK with standard bar food. Lots of televised sport, but music as well so you can never hear the commentary.

Generally pleasant bar, reasonable selection of fairly average beers -my tastes in beer run to DRAUGHT double or triple IPAs at around 9 to 10% ( I don't drink a lot of them - expensive and brain wrecking, but I do like one or two). I was rather disappointed to find no real selection in such an apparently cosmopolitan bar. A pint of Delirium Tremens was very presentable in its rather silly oversized glass. I enjoyed it, but opted for a smaller can of something , wholly unremarkable. As this was pre-drinks before a show, I left it at that. Will visit again, to see if the selection varies.

I've never had Jack fruit before but the jackfruit bites were huge and tasty and were alot for a starter. Their desserts for vegan are amazing I took my friend there for just dessert who took her friend their for dessert Haha.

The new head of steam on hanover street,not to be confused with the old head of steam located in lime street. This is a lovely well refurbished establishment with tasty gourmet burgers and other pub grub. Fantastic selection of beers both draught, bottled and cask which they pour well. Nice decor, good atmosphere, great music played and have live music events on too. Also has big screens unsure what sports they have shown but they do have sky sports. Clean venue, friendly staff... Will deffo return and recommend. Xx
