Lovely spot, great taps and locals and wonderful staff. I was wandering around Islington September 29, stumbled on the Brittania and wandered in for a break and a pint. I hit the door and hear the chorus, “oh when the Spurs go marching in...”. Surprised (I’m in Islington after all, and I’m a Spurs fan) I ask “you lot were expecting me?” One of the locals playing bridge and with that perfect English understatement and replies, “this is an Arsenal bar son.” A good chuckle all ‘round, then a bit a friendly banter ensued. Looking forward to pit stopping here again on my next visit. I might even get a rubber of bridge in! Thanks for the welcome folks.

Lovely place! Good customer service. I was a bit surprised actually. Not a huge collection of alcohol but they got all the regular (fast moving) stuff. Britannia is one of the few places retaining old pub atmosphere (human value not the decor)

Found this pub by accident. Five minutes walk from Old Street Tube but a locals pub - very different to most Shoreditch bars/pubs. One room, central round bar - friendly regulars and friendly staff. Background music only. Depends what you’re looking for in Shoreditch, but Brendan offers a different opinion.

Sunday roast is just like at home. You wouldn't pay much for a pint but don't expect very large selection of beers. Cozy place to hang out with locals.

It does have the feel of a local pub for local people when compared to the pubs along the City Road, but it was friendly enough and the beer was reasonably priced and well looked after.
