P. H.Really really quiet on early Saturday evening. For a while the two of us were the only customers. Maybe it's normal in the city during weekends... But regardless, reasonably good selection of beers, friendly staff, and interestingly decorated pub. I'd visit it again if I ever found myself in need of a pub in the city area.
S. A.Visited on Wednesday evening with a group of friends for something to eat and to take part in the quiz. Pub was quite busy so service was a bit slow but friendly. My friends shared various pizzas which they enjoyed but my steak pie with mash was disappointing. A pleasant enough place and the prices are probably in keeping for the area.
D. B.The place has a nice little atmosphere, even though it wasn't particular busy it felt quite full but not overcrowded. The staff were very friendly and made it feel like quite a fun place.
We had three starter dishes from the menu which were all ok (the beef burnt ends actually were fantastic) then followed by the Wyagu burger later, unfortunately both of us found these extremely overcooked and charred making them, not unpleasant, but very dense and tough...we did mention this to the bar staff who spoke to the chef and we were just told that he was sorry, although we did not want anything back from this we just felt as if they did not care about the feedback in the slightest.
Overall, a nice little pub where the food could have been better on this experience but we would go back.
P. W.Nice cozy ambience at 6pm on a summer Thursday, karaoke was supposed to start at 7 - thankfully no sign of that yet but the place is starting to come alive. Good beer selection, great gin cocktails, but slightly disappointing food. Service is good and the booths are comfy. We'll definitely be back for drinks, but will eat elsewhere.
E. M.I just had my lunch there and I went in because it had a really good deal for lunch and soft drink. Didn't expect much but to my surprise it was delicious and filling. The whole decoration wasn't something extraordinary, just the ordinary pub. A clean and cool place with a good value for money.
M. S.Much smaller than it used to be, so seating is at a premium now. Best to book, especially if there's more than two of you. The Ultimate Burger is well named, being made from three different animals, and is best saved for when you really have an appetite!
C. d. W.Went for lunch with some work colleagues. We were seated towards the end by the toilets but asked to move as it was freezing cold back there. Being seated for a while we realised that this was a self service type of place (the waitress did not tell us this when we came in). Food came and I was sad to hear that the orders my collegues made were not up to standard and when questioning the waiter all he kept saying is that it's as advertised, not the best attitude to have. I ordered the chicken, bacon and red onion pizza which was really delicious. Only real downside was when it came to asking for a take away container the only ones they had were small tin containers with no lids they wrap this in cling wrap. Waitress was not too happy with my request for take away.
T. R.There's a really nice atmosphere in this pub and it's quite spacious which is a rarity in the city!
The decor is, as you might expect, very British! There's nice booth seating as well as normal tables and there's a warm cosy feel to it in the Winter.
On the whole the food is on par price wise and quality with Wetherspoons so make of that what you will. I would only say to avoid the burgers as they're really, really greasy and more akin to that from a side of the road burger van than anything else. Everything else I've tried there though has been reasonably decent.
The bar staff are lovely and friendly but food service can be a little slow at times. Good for a quick and cheap lunch on a work week!
M.I've been to The Britannia quite a lot over the years. Friendly place. Nice staff. The only thing that let's it down is the DJ!!! A woman in her late 40's, early 50's with attitude! I could understand this if people were drunk and annoying but I spoke to her in the toilet. I was friendly and sober but she was just downright rude! No one was dancing so we asked for some songs and we all got the same reply! She doesn't even look at you as she says. "Nah, I ain't got it." even though she played them an hour or so later! This has happened a few times. So, nice place shame about the DJ
S. P.This pub is underground so not ideal in the Summer. Saying that food is good and cheap with a number of special offers. There's a good choice of real ale and larger including Stella, Carling, Bombardier and Pedigree. There's a good atmosphere plenty of seating too.

J. M.In this part of London where getting a pint can mean waiting at a bar 3 people deep or more, this place is a secret God send. Walk in and get served almost immediately, it's the same juice as other bars and it costs a little less.
