Reviews of Dream Bags Jaguar Shoes
C.
Really good fun venue. Highly recommended.
Upstairs bar is fab with great cocktails - service very good.
Downstairs dance floor is super fun as well.
For gigs, make sure you book in advance and have tickets to show at door.
Pic shown - lighting is not as red as in photo!
K. S.
A really fun place for meeting friends and having relaxed drinks. The crowd is fun and friendly, and the margaritas are super delish! Extra fun when it’s warm out and you get so chill outside. And they do a really great music selection! 100% would recommend.
R. P.
Visited to see some live music. At street level there is a wonderful bar that had draught and bottled beer plus many cocktails which seemed very popular with others present. The staff were delightful and the service was fast and efficient, prices were typical for the area.
There is an event space downstairs which though not large was very nice plus it had a bar as well. The sound was superb though the stage lighting was perhaps a bit underwhelming with only two luminaires but that seems a common issue with venues in London.
Overall a really nice place and one could easily spend the evening there even if not visiting for the music.

Hard to say... Average? Our experience in the basement was terrible, but it could be good upstairs. You needed an internet connection to order a drink, but there's no cellular down there and the WiFi is shaky at best. Plus, the website is janky and the menu seems to change hourly. It took six of us a half hour to order a round of beer on our phones when the bar was dead. If the bar or waiters now allow you to order in person again, or do so soon, that'll probably be irrelevant!
T. D.
Busy on a Wednesday night, good live music, good crown. Free entry/performance. If you can see past the hipsterness this place is probably the best bar in Shoreditch imo
T. C.
Looove this bar, great vibes and fast service at the bar. The decour is cool and nice music. Would deffo recommend if you’re around shoreditch and don’t want something generic and blunt like most bars around
M. T.
Amazing venue. Great vibe both upstairs but especially downstairs.
A. S.
Awesome place to have the second or third drink of the night! The staff has always been friendly and quick and I like the lighting and the colorful walls. Energetic spot that is usually packed with interestig people and quite loud.
The basement hosts the dancefloor. I liked the music (electronic). The air conditioning could use an update as oxygen is scarce on the dancefloor but maybe it's part of the eclectic and quirky charme of this place.
A. E.
trendy place for friday night drinks
N. E.
Nice bar chill upstairs and dark dance floor downstairs with good tunes
P. L. R.
It’s still one of my favourite bars in #london - Dream Bags Jaguar Shoes continues to re-invent itself on a regular basis.
It’s a mix of urban cafe bar, pub, club and gallery and is one of the few venues that can pull off this varied game well.
K. R.
One of my favourite places in Shoreditch. Cool vibes and delicious cocktails.
R. K.
Wicked place. Guys they don't do pizza anymore. So come for drinks and good music only
M. D. S.
It's a nice place to go and have drinks after work. Slightly more expensive than other places in the area, but the crowd is quite cool. They have some interesting beers and can do some good cocktails. It gets crowded on Fridays though.
S. W.
Friendly staff and great service. Great indoor and outdoor (for those hot summer days).
L. A.
Super cool spot. Always packed. Drinks are reasonably priced. Very vibey. Downstairs is like a sweat box, but music is cooking
L. B.
Cool interior and interesting mix of people from hipsters to after work drinkers, the decor changes up all the time and the space is used for different events.
Unfortunately the beer was flat (they told me it was because of the shape of the new pint glasses) which was a little annoying and the pizza was defiantly a little underwhelming.
If you're off for a swift one and are in the area then it's definitely worth a visit but was a little unimpressed by food/beer (which is the whole reason to visit a bar surely).
A. M.
The place looks nice, sort of hipster vibe all around it. It reminds me of Williamsburg NY. However the service is ridiculous, the bartender too busy chatting with the coolest (strangest) from the crowd and show no interest in actually serving you a drink. It could be a nice place if less self reverential. In my opinion, the wrong side of "alternative".
K. A.
Unique and completely unpretentious, which is quite a feat in Shoreditch. Lovely cocktails and awesome pizza, overall a great value enjoyable night out.
z. c.
As far as evening/night time drinks are concerned this place now leaves much to be desired. It gets pretty packed and finding anywhere to rest your weary legs is a feat.
The real appeal however, is the pizza. They get them through a small pass-through in the wall from Due Sardi next door. Fresh, stone baked and utterly delicious. I would recommend stopping by for a spot of lunch if you're in the area.
c. s.
Pretty much the best bar in Shoreditch. Also one of the last original bars. Forget the city bars that are popping up. If you want the old school Shoreditch vibe then this is it. Great staff, great music, great drinks.
Y. K.
Lovely cocktails at this Very Hip and Trendy bar. Upstairs normally busy and buzzing, staff fairly friendly. The downstairs can be hit and miss, sometimes feels cosy, other times musty and quiet.
M. L.
Great little Shoreditch cocktail bar, also featuring an interesting beer menu for those who prefer their drinks to be of the malted variety. The main bar area is refreshed every few months according to a rotating program of installations in collaboration with local artists and students - we loved the current "Robots in Disguise" installation, mostly because our table was supported by two wooden cut-outs of robots.
D. C.
Good cocktails and perfectly Shoreditch decorated place. Bar is efficient with a lot of barman so you won't be waiting too long for you drink
S. R.
Yes, the name is ridiculous, and yes, this is Shoreditch so it's entirely in keeping with the area, so you just have to go with it. Excellent selection of weird and wonderful beers from around the world (Icelandic brewery just 60 miles south of the Arctic circle stocked right here!). Well worth checking out for the great value lunch time pizza menu - 5 quid for a pizza if you buy a drink (soft drink ok). Not the most amazing pizza, but good value for the area.

A tale of two bars. Like most places in the Shoreditch / Old St area, mid-week Jaguar Shoes is a friendly, comfortable bar perfect for relaxing in with friends over a few drinks. Come the weekend and you have to have a different perspective as it turns into a mêlée of drinkers clamouring towards the bar. There is a basement level that gets opened up at such times but I definitely prefer lounging on the sofas upstairs when it's quieter. Drinks are on the expensive side but are generally good quality imported beers and strong cocktails, mixed well (beer ~£4 wine £10+ a bottle £7-8 a cocktail). Haven't tried the food but have heard good things and what I've seen looked nice - mostly pizzas and pastas. I'll see you there!
K. G.
I popped into Jaguar Shoes on a Thursday evening and it was pretty buzzy. The doormen were refreshingly chilled out and but the staff perhaps a little too chilled out - it took quite a long to get served and for them to make our cocktails. However, once they arrived they were really tasty (slow gin fizz for me thanks) and the snacks looked great too. The decor looks like it changes regularly - when we visited it was pop-art style graphics painted on the walls and lots of laundrette props on the shelves. Very original and eye-catching. Downstairs they have a little cinema room which was a lot less noisy than upstairs. My only gripe would be that the toilets are typical Shoreditch toilets - i.e. avoid them if possible!
Z. P.
With a name like Jaguar Shoes, I'll admit I had no idea what to expect from this bar (lots of animal print loafers perhaps?) but what I found was two cheery bouncers, some rather chilled out staff (who put time into making their cocktails) and a quirky supermarket style exhibition. I ordered a Chocolate and Cherry Old Fashioned – which was a sweeter take on the Mad Men classic – and my friends ordered a Sloe Gin Fizz and a fruity little number that I can't remember the name of! We headed to the downstairs section where there were more seats (and even a little screening section). If it hadn't been a school night, we would have definitely stayed for much longer...
F. B.
The bar is Okay, the staff are not overly friendly. The downstairs area is very dark and dingy compared to the upstairs. It is nice to sit outside in Shoreditch and watch the night-life.
L. M.
Popped into Jaguar Shoes with a friend on a sunny day in London where the windows were open wide, so we sat nside while we felt the breeze and watched the world go by. The decor is quirky and made me want an ice cream - there is a poster of some ice cream on the wall (there is no ice cream so be warned!) but there are lovely drinks, super friendly staff and a smiley bouncer. All in all a great bar and I can't wait to go back!
L. A.
Super cool spot. Always packed. Drinks are reasonably priced. Very vibey. Downstairs is like a sweat box, but music is cooking
P. B.
Great place to pop in for a couple of drinks with some mates. Music is always good and I love the fact that the decor changes all the time, cause it does?! Its like going into a different bar each time.
M. D.
This continues to be one my favourite midweek drinks bar over the last 10 years.
Art on the walls that changes monthly, great range of drinks, which has improved over time, and amazing pizzas bought via Dream bags and Jaguar shoes from next door.
D. S.
Cool bar on Kingsland Road to hang out at. Nothing was going on downstairs whilst I was there but it has a lot of potential as venue. I’ll definitely be returning to sample the pizza!
G. Y.
Love this place! For me it doesnt really get more hipster than here. I went for a birthday party on a thursday night and we had a night area upstaires. cockails were a little on the pricey side (£11) but they know what they're doing so it was really worth it. Music is really good as is the sound system. Lots of fun
E. A.
It doesn't look, or even particularly sound like a bar or creator of awesome cocktails but there you go! There are surprises in life. I enjoyed a Blueberry Caprinio which was carefully made and super tasty. It was a good thing we had cash on us otherwise it would have been a sad, sober affair. Decor was a supermarket basic style exhibition, suitably cheeky for such a name. #DavidBowieis

Fans of authentic Italian pizza will love this place! This nice little venue sells one of the best pizzas in London to a fair price. Located close to Shoreditch, it's a great place to have a snack and a beer before starting off a fun night out. The ambiente is also very cosy and relaxed.
S. R.
Lively atmosphere and good music ;)
M. H.
Had a Queen of Diamonds bottled beer, was a nice one but was served to me warm. Other than that I really enjoyed this place. It wasn't overpacked and has art coming in and out, exhibited inside.
R. K.
One of my favorite places for a casual drink, with the best spiced apple mojito. Ever changing interior and instulations, attracts way too many hipsters, which I secretly love. :)
D. L.
Dream Bags Jaguar Shoes is a Shoreditch institution. It was here years ago when I first moved to London, and, hopefully, will be here for a long time to come. Yes, you might expect plenty of hipsters to hang out here - it is Shoreditch - but, for me, it's never ever been overly crowded. The drinks are reasonably priced, you can order food - proper food, not bar snacks - from the restaurant next door, and the music's good enough to make you groove while you're sitting down. Best of all, you can make a reservation, even if it's only for two people, and there's no minimum spend.
N. E.
Nice bar chill upstairs and dark dance floor downstairs with good tunes
W. W.
Jaguar Shoes is an unassuming spot packed between other bars and pubs that are assuming far too much. It's laid back ambiance and stripped back aesthetic are, often literally, a breath of fresh air from some of the alternatives in Shoreditch. The drinks are good value and the team have a good sense of humour.
It's wallet friendly, not your usual and yet central enough so that you can move on later, wherever your night may take you.
In summary: If I'm looking for somewhere to drink in Shoreditch, this is my first choice.
I. M.
I admire the fact that they base their decoration on artwork from up and coming artists every quarter. A very positive environment. Descent pricing. Always busy. Rethink if you want to go on a Saturday.
W. S.
Music is too loud.... you need to shout to have a conversation.
N. P.
Very artsy bar with art projections changing every now and then. You can order pizza from Amici Miei and the bartender can bring it to you. Basement area is a club.
K. R.
One of my favourite places in Shoreditch. Cool vibes and delicious cocktails.
A. H.
Really fun quirky bar named after the show shop it has taken over. Came here for post dinner drinks and staff were friendly and attentive (and speedy!) at the bar despite how busy it was.
M.
Very chill, popular crowd. Relativity expensive as is the rest of Shoreditch, and not that much seating but nice enjoyable atmosphere + music!
S. I.
Upstairs is great in the summer... happy hour cocktails for £5. Margarita and Negronis were especially good!
R. K.
Wicked place. Guys they don't do pizza anymore. So come for drinks and good music only
L. P.
Trendy cocktail bar in East London. Expect a trendy crowd. Very busy during Friday and Saturday evenings.
G. D.
Love it!!! Totally recommend they accept BTC how long we need for other business to open their eyes to this new technologies? For sure I will come back.
r. b.
Great cocktails and really friendly staff but the basement smells of damp and the not so well looked after toilets.
D.
Great bar. Really love this place. Good staff too and the manager is a top guy
S. B.
Didn't like the underground level. Was too stuffy. On the ground level though I loved the music, the decoration, the drinks and pretty much everything.
A. E.
trendy place for friday night drinks
d. i.
Its all about keeping the old look still had the old signs lol. Good cocktails and Drinks-and great music highly recommend .
M. S.
Unsuspecting bar on Kingsland Rd delivers the goods. Chill vibe, sneaky underground and pizza by the meter. AbFab.
J. H.
A Shoreditch institution. One of the places that started it all and still one of the best. Unpretentious, friendly and fun - what more do you need for a great night out?
Ö. T.
Best place to go during the week. A little bit too loud to chat from friday on.
They have Erdinger Weissbier which is big yes.
L. M.
Great selection of drinks. They get food from next door which is really good!
S. S.
Excellent for drinks. Great interior design on the ground floor. Great music!

C. D.
Decent beers and pizza.. Went midweek.. Nice and relaxed!
N. W.
Cool art but too loud on the top floor. Why so loud when it's just tables and chairs for people to have a conversation on?
B. M.
Has been one of my go-to's since it opened in the early naughties. And to my astonishment and it's credit it hasn't changed a bit.
P. S.
3 beers for the price of 2! Plus nice location, nice people and nice music

Bartender recommended a beer that was a little off. On my next order, I went with my gut!

This place should come with a warning of effortlessly cool. From the rugged interior and art on the walls to the " in the know" door security. You know you're in Shoreditch when you're here, every one is working on "projects". Thanks to the bar staff keeping the place refreshed. We can all goto heaven now.
