A reasonable pub, let down by its overpriced food. We had quite a wait for our dinner even though there was nobody eating - it seemed that they were busy with their Deliveroo orders. The food was very nice, however and the staff were professional and polite. Overall the pub was pretty decent and there was also a good selection of beers on offer.

Excellent. Walk past this place all the time, and stopped in just for a pint today with the in-laws. We stayed and had drinks, dinner and dessert. Couldn’t rate this place higher. The heartiest, most warming food you will find. A real gem. The pies had a perfect crust to filling ratio, the mac and cheese had the exact right amount of cheese and the chips, wow. Lovley settings, great vibes, wicked staff. Well done lads, will be back next weekend.

Gorgeous wood panelled pub with a decent beer selection, and an inventive burger menu. Edit: a year later I returned here for food! The staff are awesome, really friendly and seem to genuinely enjoy working there :) and the food is excellent (absolutely love how many vegan / vegetarian options there are!) We both got a burger, and I got a pie whilst my friend got mac and cheese. Technically four mains but we were hungry and it all sounded great. Happy to report the quality lived up to the hype 😄 all very fresh, flavoursome, well presented. Can't wait to come back! Can't fault the beer selection either. Great range of draught and bottles!

very friendly first time I've been here In years popped in for a Guinness while i was waiting for my takeaway ( well it was a hot day ) while i was there spotted that most of their beers appeared to be whitstable bay so I thought I'll have a half of the lager wow very nice light crisp and the Guinness was perfect too.

Lovely pub, the lads behind the bar are always friendly. Nice selection of food and drinks in a cosy atmosphere. Quite pricey, but I'm not from Central London and I know it's more expensive here. Definitely worth a visit.

I am very picky in terms of food and I can assure you that this pub serves excellent food. A good selection of burgers, pies and Mac and cheese, all done with attention and care. Definitely recommend it.

This is a lovely pub, very pretty inside with a good range of beers, a selection of pub classics for food and plenty of places to sit including some tables outside. It is a crying shame that this isn't open Sunday as the area now has many more residents than it used to and it would definitely be busy.

Great food but limited menu, this pub has character and history but is let down but the lack of real ale on tap. Only once have they had something on their 6 pumps out of 3 visits. £35 for two pints, two burgers and a starter to share.

Live in the area and this is one of the pubs I rotate through. It’s a bit off the beaten path of Borough High Street but worth seeking out. The Duke of York is a Shepherd Neame pub which is rare in SE1 and a nice change of pace. They serve Samuel Adams on draught, which as an American is a bonus when feeing nostalgic. Overall it has a good atmosphere, solid food, never gets too crowded and has outdoor seating. Can’t ask for more in a local.

Decent pub, good Shepherd Neame beer, reasonable food. Seating is good, there's a few comfy sofas, some tables and chairs and some high tables with bar stools. Outside benches and tables too if the weather is suitable. Only downside is the cost, Borough isn't cheap but you can get beer for less than here not far away.

Nice friendly local pub with traditional decor tall ceilings and warm atmosphere. Good selection of ales and very good food. Plenty of choice on the menu. There is some outside seating but very popular in the summer.

I was there recently and the very young fella serving behind the bar (I even wondered if he was old enough to serve alcohol ) was funny as f@€k! He was extremely friendly, funny and efficient! Punters should go there just for this chap!!! Highly recommended!

A quaint little bar catering to the denizens of offices located nearby - it serves its purpose of being a meeting place to set insignificant political plots in motion quite impressively. The place itself is small and cosy, the staff are as happy as their patrons and the beer is as cheap as it comes in London. Donot visit on a Thursday or a Friday evening.
