Reviews of Freud Bar
G. G.
Nick is a great host and bartender! I went for a Long Island, a Bali Breeze and a Boulevardier, can’t go wrong 😃 Ambient music on point and the art is just a bonus on top of the great service
J. C.
Awesome little bar in the basement with cool staff and fantastic cocktails! They even make the classics and off menu items really well too! And not so expensive! Plus all in a cool atmosphere with great music! Been back here a few times and will return again!
A.
Great drinks and friendly staff! Cocktails are priced appropriately. The vibe of this place is whack, it feels like it’s trying to be too many things - a hipster club, fancy bar, and more. The music was too loud to properly have a conversation, and the space is physically fairly small. If I were running the place I would commit to one vibe or the other, at least per night; have some club night where you clear the tables and play club music; have some bar nights where you turn the music down. The decor is okay, and the toilets could use some work. Even when the music was off between songs everybody was used to yelling and the place was extremely loud, I would consider sound proof panels. Would return, but I would also like some changes to the vibe.
Edit: changed to 5 stars because they turned down the music. Highly recommend the Holy Freud drink.
l.
I've popped here a number of times in the past - this was my first visit following the pandemic. I feel the drinks have lost a bit of quality from back in the day - but certainly still worth visiting.
Music vibe is ace!
Nice and chill up to 5PM but starts to get busy after and a tables become scarce. Visit, but have one and move on.
T. M.
One of my favourite places in London great atmosphere, amazing staff and bartenders. The music is always the best with the best DJs mixing. Parlour sessions are my favourites not a bad thing about this place
A. H.
Had an amazing time last night with a close friend. We stood by the bar the whole time as there were no seats available and honestly, if I go back, which is very likely now, I would like to stand again because the bar staff were so funny and lively. We were served by Katherine and recommended drinks and was up for a conversation with us when she wasn’t busy. She definitely made our night a lot better! Thanks Katherine!
F. P.
Great place! Atmosphere is amazing....staff is friendly and the cocktails are well made. Music selection is superb! Can't wait to go back!
J. E.
Probably the first of many hippy cocktail bars before hippy cocktail bars became popular. The rendition of traditional cocktails are all super agreeable with palates. Great place to spend few hours with friends before and after plays, or after dinner cocktails in Covent Garden. Not easy to find, but super gratifying to have found it still standing strong.
N. -.
One of my fave hidden cocktail gems in London! I first visited here a few years ago and there is an extensive, delicious cocktail menu and friendly staff
V.
Yes it’s hidden away, yes it’s in the basement but oh boy you can’t compare Freud to any other place in London (not central at least). Music 👌drinks 🍸and the charm of people that work here will make you want to come back again and again. Quieter drinks until 23:00 and if you don’t mind standing then turn up late and have fun 😉
J. D.
Great cocktails in a timeless bar, that I have visited many times over few decades...
T. H.
Great bar. Excellent bartenders who can make recommendations. Plenty of choice of cocktails based on gin, whisky, vodka, rum and tequila.
Not too busy on weekdays. About 10 tables in all, but more standing room if it's busy.
The bar is best reached from Tottenham Court Road, and is downstairs.
C. H.
A fantastic place! Used to be better back in the day but still has its sort of decaying vibe
S. M.
Big selection of well made cocktails. Good price, especially for the area it's in. Interesting building and artwork on the walls. Mens toilets are a bit grim.
a. l.
Amazing cocktails, great vibes, stylish and elegant, with charming & friendly staff 🤗🍸
R. S.
Been coming here for years. Great little hidden away cocktail bar. A huge selection of cocktails and good service. Can get very busy and packed especially in summer.
M. -.
I love this place, it's got to be one of the best bars in London. The drinks are really good, done properly, but I think it is the staff and the overall vibe that has always made this place so special... It's so good to see it open again.
G. B.
Bit of dive bar. Can be fun and have been going for years but reckon it's not for me anymore. Dirty venue and poor quality drinks are overcoming the quirkyness of the place.
J. P.
Wicked joint, great drinks poured by professional bartenders. Reasonable prices. Good tunes, they are rocking Get Lucky just at close. You want to come here!
J. G.
I mean the place is dope, but you stand in queue for 20 mins for a drink and it ain't cheap either. Also a bit small.
C.
Have walked past this place so many times and finally visited on Friday! Super friendly staff. We loved the atmosphere and the cocktails were excellent🍸😍
M. H.
Really great vibe, good music, and great cocktails! Espresso martini is particularly good. Definitely recommend checking this bar out!
T. B.
Great vibe, lively and good music. Great range of reasonably priced cocktails
M. M.
Really great whisky sour! Great ambient and really Interesting local to go for cocktail.
A. S.
Awesome, Berlin-style bar - nothing posh just cool vibe, great cocktails and right music! A very impressive cocktail menu, and we enjoyed the names a lot. Though it can get really crowded on a weekend night, people around are nice and friendly. The staff are mesmerising at their work. The music is just what you need.
A. M.
Fantastic bar, very good music, the best cocktails and two professional barman. That lovely place fantastic atmosphere, I'm recommending Freud Bar.
M. R.
One of my favourite cocktail bars in the area. Amazing selection , all of which is made expertly by very friendly staff.
W. E.
Great little cocktail bar. Definitely worth popping your head in for a drink. Quite a young crowd. Mellow, chilled vibe.
C. M.
Nice, cheap cocktails and friendly staff
P. E.
Great place - strong cocktails, decent music, good vibes.
Y. H.
Great cocktails and super friendly staff. The location was also great, I loved the underground ambiance
M. C. P.
Very cool place to go. Randomly entered yesterday with my gf and the staff was accommodating and made good recommendations for the cocktails.
B.
Mikey who runs this joint is a certified legend. Drink a Jamaican Mule at this remarkable London speakeasy. I have wonderful memories here!
A. H.
Good selection of cocktails but a little dingy.
M. P.
Great drinks at good prices in a unique setting.
J. M.
Nice and cosy with good cocktails! Great atmosphere.
R. D.
It’s always a good night a Freud bar. Generally the vibe is really good and everyone is super friendly. The staff look like real pros moving at the speed of light to try and reach each customer as quickly as possible, not easy with all the cocktails they put together.
At some point in our lives we’ve all looked at a friend and said “one day I’ll own a bar”. Well whatever you were thinking of probably looked a little like Freud bar, it’s just that kinda place. Very cool!
M.
Had a great happy hour Paloma and Manhattan. Bartender was very helpful to ensure the drinks I had were made as I wanted. Atmosphere was very cool. Surprised I got a table. Most tables were 4 seaters when 80% of parties were of 2. But this made it feel a lot more intimate.
H. N.
Nice cosy bar, with great cocktail options! I tried the cardamomtini cocktail which was nice!
P. H.
Walked past this place so many times and never went in. I am glad I did.
It felt somewhat of place from the touristy location it was in. Reasonably priced cocktails from the menu. Loud techno music (amongst other genres) and friendly youngish crowd. Relaxed place with no bouncer on the door which seems rare for central London
J. E.
Delicious cocktails, but I didn't love the look, guess they are going for the dingy walls/uncared for underground look, so if that suits you then great. Music was loud but you could still talk and we didn't have to wait long to get served. Drinks were made very quickly.
J. S.
One of my favourite cocktail bars towards Central London - An underground bar with an almost minimalist take on decor. The cocktail menu holds roughly 65 items, so you're very likely to come across a drink you'll learn to love!
J. L.
Great selection of cocktails plus knowledgeable bar staff will make almost anything else you can think of. Does get very busy and crowded but being underground and almost completely concrete means acoustics don't stop you from holding a conversation. Also, unfortunately, the nature of the slightly cramped layout is such that, when there are no seats you don't really have the option to stand anywhere easily.
J.
This place is easy to walk past, without spotting it, as it's downstairs, underneath an art gallery.
Once you make it down the stairs, it's pretty chaotic inside, because it's so packed, and you can easily wait 20 minutes at the bar to get served.
The feel of the place is a bit odd, because there's exposed concrete everywhere, and it almost feels like boozing on a building site, with people perched wherever they can find bum space.
H. V.
Nice little bar where the music isn't too obscenely loud and the look is underground European style. A nice place to meet and hang out. The ground floor was closed when I last visited, so we descended to the subterranean part and it was great for an intimate chat with friends. Really friendly Swedish bartender. :)
H. C. F.
Great vibes, music can be a tad bit loud but attracts a dope crowd and exudes an über post-modernist feel!!
R. A.
Don't be put off by the loud music outside as you walk in, it's actually quieter inside and the music genre is pretty good anyway
J.
Great place, good drinks, nice staff, great music. Wouldn't go there for conversation.
E. T.
Underground concrete bar with an impressively large cocktail menu, but with great value prices that will keep you coming back again and again! Fairly busy, but the staff work quickly and are happy to serve.
Cocktails range from £6.50 - £8, so are on par with some happy hours at local bars, and the menu is large enough to keep any picky individual happy! Would be my first choice of bar in Covent Garden if it was after 8/9 when most Happy Hours end!
F. o.
Fantastic bar with lovely bar staff and an amazing cocktail list..❤
D. W.
Slink down the stairs and off a busy road and you will find yourself in what seems like a bunker or speakeasy. The atmosphere here is just right as people chatter loudly over one another to be heard by the person next to them - most definitely get here early if you wish to sit comfortably. Having said that they overall experience, regardless, is still fantastic. The cocktails made are reasonably priced for London and are 'real' cocktails - you, or I, only need a few to reap the benefits. The staff are incredibly friendly and even though they are swarmed by customers will still offer you advice on several cocktail mixes, dependent on your mood.
B. B. B.
One of the coolest cocktail bars in Central London, and it is so easy to miss. It is only accessible by a steep stairway to a cave-like room beneath Shaftesbury in Soho, so be sure to look down when you get closer.
Cool crowd and easygoing staff, if you want ti surprise your friends, take them here.
M. V.
This is seriously one of the best places in the world to go for cocktails and a hip young crowd
L. S.
Go there and ask for a recommendation, the bartenders are incredible and will make a drink tailor-made for what you want even if it’s not in their menu
V. 8.
A hidden cocktail bar in Covent Garden. Not many people know about this as the entrance is not obvious but the cocktails are always well made with generous portions. Staff are always helpful and all know their cocktails very well. Highly recommend if you want a break from the busy city centre!
G. H.
What a gem! We went past this peculiar basement entrance that had lots of noise coming from within and thought we'd investigate. Turns out to be an old cellar turned into a cocktail bar. There is a fixed menu of about 60 drinks and banging electronic music. The decor was nothing special, but the atmosphere was fantastic. The staff were super lovely.
S. A.
We’ve been there last weekend and we loved the place. Great vibes and good music. We’ll visit again soon
K. M.
Great place! I love returning to this place years after years! This time we requested mocktails! The bar tender was super experienced and creative! Very kind, attentive and helpful! Both mocktails were delicious!
N. M.
I find small underground cocktail bars very difficult to dislike and found that I enjoyed my time here a lot. It's very small so make sure to arrive early or at least be prepared to wait until a table opens up. The cocktails were only average at best and it was a little understaffed but the strangeness of the atmosphere more than made up for the weakness of the drinks.
M. R.
Awesome little bar that's kinda hidden from the face of London. Go down the staircase and there's this hidden beauty. The staff are amazing at doing what they do. Even suggesting cocktails if they don't do specific ones. Great night and atmosphere. Really enjoyed it
C. G.
Excellent cocktails, massive selection, all under £10 (normally around £6-7 area). The staff are generally friendly and welcoming.
Be warned, the opening time varies from what's advertised, I've been down when it's supposed to open only to be told rather sharply that they're not open (even though the gate and doors were wide open and all lights on). Otherwise, definitely a great place to go.
H. M.
Great bar! One thing I really love about this place is they play awesome music and to find that in central on a weekend is really hard. Great vibe on a weekend a little space to dance which is fun as you make friends with people in the bar quickly. Quick service and cool bar staff. :)
G. M.
Very cool place and great vibes! Love the music and the drinks. Very highly recommended
J. v. D.
As any mediocre cocktail bar in London it’s incredibly overpriced, but the overall atmosphere is allright. Fun thing is you give the staff music recommendations and they’re quite receptive to that.
E. E.
One of the best cocktail bars around - Freud has never changed its outlook or its quality.
Terrific cocktails from a lengthy list are served by a friendly staff who are more than willing to engage the customers. So the music is a little loud at time and the bar crowded - when it's this good, those things fade away quickly.
R. A.
Easy place to miss whilst walking past as you go down some stairs to enter, it can get very busy but worth going to for an early evening cocktail. Cocktails are very reasonably priced for London and aren't actually too bad tasting, but be warned....this place can get very busy!
S. B.
Excellent choice of cocktails definetly recommended
D. R.
Cute friendly bar! The prices for drinks and cocktails are lower than most London bars. The interior is pretty basic/rustic, but I enjoyed the laid back, no frills atmosphere.
N. W.
A little hard to find, but once you stumble across it you'll be wanting to go back for more. Very rustic and simple bar that has a huge selection of cocktails, made really well. Thoroughly recommend!
M. F.
When we there, early evening, it was not crowded at all. Nice people working there, interesting paintings on the walls, cool music and really good Caipirinha for happy-hour-price. It was in the basement. The ground floor was closed, due to renovation. The whole place reminded me a bit of a Berlin bar (where I come from).
J. H.
This small basement bar is probably not the sort of place I'd go to normally - the music was way too loud for me - but as a one off I actually kind of enjoyed it. I started with a "Venetian Spritzer" which I was really pleased to see on the menu - I loved Spritzes on my recent trip to Venice - but theirs didn't contain sparkling water so wasn't quite the same. I think I preferred the Negroni I followed that up with. Overall not a bad spot for cocktails if you're in the area and don't mind the noise.
d. o.
This is one of my favorite cocktails bars in London it sis one of my favorite winter haunts.
You have cocktails that are either served in a martini glass or in a PINT glass, so you know that you will have an amazing time.
Be warned this place is TINY and competition for seating rivals the tube. the atmosphere in there is great everybody is always jolly ( that could be down to the wide selection of beverages) or just that facts that its my fav bar.
F. E.
The place is situated in the center of London. It has an underground and minimal atmosphere which allows you to have an enjoyable experience. Cocktails and service are really good although the busy time in the weekends. Like it! :)
O. W.
As you descend the steps into this brilliant little bar at the end of Neal Street, you may be forgiven for mistaking that you have now entered a little hotspot in very Downtown Manhattan. The cocktails are consistently top-notch, and the decor is minimal without feeling sparse. Artwork is hung on the walls and this is regularly changed, giving the bar a dynamic feel. Queues for the bar are usually long, but your drinks at the end will be worth the wait and for such a central location, the prices are actually very good.
B. C.
Really cool atmosphere with good selection of drinks, however it's way too loud to even hear yourself think. Definitely wouldn't recommend for a first date. Better with a small group of friends
M. I.
We had been visiting Forbidden Planet and we're looking for a place to step out of the rain. The Freud had just opened for the day so we popped down to grab a drink. Dive bar would be an accurate description though we like a good hole in the wall joint.
The staff were busy training a new bar tender but got our order right away. For £8.5 I expected better, we got a Lynchburg Lemonade that was not at all mixed and quite watery.
Priced a bit too high and not enough seating. Lots of kids from college and university crash here
M. M.
Fun cocktail bar hidden off the beaten track. Very friendly staff who will help guide you through the vast cocktail menu. Great place for dates or a few pre dinner drinks with friends
N. E.
Only just recovered from the cocktails now 3 days later 😄
L. D.
A cocktail bar in a basement. Various choice of cocktails. I went for a gin based cocktail with cardamom which was good (to try only if you like cardamom). My friend had a mescal and tequila based one but I saw the barman pooring Vodka in it... A place I would recommend to people who want to experiment something original
X. W.
Usually busy and a touch on the loud side, this place has bags of character without having to make much of an effort. Located underneath a shop of the same name, you get to it by staggering down some narrow iron stairs off the street, wondering if you'll ever make it back up them again.
Once you've sample a few of their generous cocktails, those stairs become a real concern. There's an eye-stretching selection of cocktails to suit most tastes from traditional to experimental, served unapologetically in a pint glass or a martini glass if you're having a short one.
The staff have always been excellent. You can't expect too much conversation in a noisy, busy place like this, but they usually have an energetic humour and are happy to make recommendations or tweak a cocktail to your taste if you ask nicely.
I've now started making notes about the cocktails I try each time I come here so I can remember which ones I like best because otherwise I forget what I've partaken the moment I attempt to re-ascend that infernal staircase.
S. N.
Best cocktails in London. Hands down. It's a bit tight when it gets busy but it's manageable. Good music, helpful bar staff. Awesome venue
A. G.
Good cocktails, good vibes, a bit plain in the cocktail department, they can take more risks with flavours, and the like.
But great experience, and tasty cocktails.
A. S.
More 3.5 stars. On the one hand it is one of the few reasonably priced cocktail bars in the area with great drinks. The place though has a "rustic" charm but that is bordering on neglect. Note to staff: it could do with a sprussing up!
D. F.
Best cocktail bar in London. Unpretentious. Friendly staff. More cocktails than you can shake a flaming stick at. Never too long to wait for a table.
H. H.
From the outside it may look like the sort of basement that if you walk into you may not emerge with both your kidneys again, however once inside it's a friendly place with a laid back vibe and a vast menu or classic and newly invented cocktails. Well worth a visit!
C. T.
Everyone knows Freuds and on a Friday night you'll be pushed to find space. But try, because it's worth it. It's down some really unassuming steps it's hardly hidden but doesn't immediately catch your eye. Which is great, because it's not massive. Inside the artfully rough bar there's some seating but I've never seen a day when people haven't overflowed and are perched around the sides on the steps that lead away at the back. It all creates a comfortable and relaxed vibe though. Importantly, drinks are delicious. It's all lovely. One that sticks in my mind is the Apple Crumble which tastes like pudding in a drink. There's enough traditional ones and plenty of original ones written up on the massive chalkboards to keep your entertained all night and remembering it very hazily. If you can chose a time when you miss the after-work crowd, it's a complete haven.
T. D.
This industrial style basement cocktail bar is ridic. The chunky menu scribbled across the back wall and great drinks for £7 are the reasons why this place gets rammed.... If you actually manage to find it first.
It's favourite of mine that I'm reluctant to review because it's already busy enough!
A. S.
Stumbled into Freud on a Friday night/Saturday morning, just before it closed, because I'd heard a lot about it. Only tried one cocktail - some banana/frangelico concoction that was really delicious - but I saw plenty of other drinks on the chalkboard behind the bar that I'd like to try. The bar cultivates this rough-around-the-edges feel, but it was full of office workers who'd stayed out a bit later than expected. Still, everyone was harmless enough and I enjoyed my drink there.
M. S.
I completely love this tiny tiny dungeon....errrr.....bar. It can get extremely crowded in the evenings (to the point you might not even have enough room to stand and have your drink!) and super noisy as well (the chitter chatter of people, coupled with the rock-ish music). Having said that, the atmosphere and ambience will pull you in nevertheless. The drinks (along with their weird names) are fantastic. It is one of the few places where you actually get a bang for your buck (the bartenders are quite generous with the amount of alcohol in your drink!).
E. C.
The place is wonderful, in the basement. But During weekend is too busy to enjoy the cocktails as it's too small for the huge crowd that attracts.
Good cocktails but not the best around.
A. T.
Great cocktail menu, great barmen who will help you pick and are good at making drinks. Not much selection other than cocktails though, and it gets really busy on weekends (and closes at 11ish on weekdays).
S. A.
Great cocktails in a stylish urban basement without any show. Happy hour cocktails between 4-7pm are a bonus
B. P.
Great location, was very quite because it was just around 4pm, guys were very friendly and professional.. cocktails were great! As usual! Please do some happy hours 😄
L. J.
Cheap drinks and good music. Quite cold despite being full of people, and most of them were snogging their significant other. Think I was a bit too old for this place! If had somewhere to dance would’ve given another star.
P. K.
An institution of Covent Garden. Decent and well-priced cocktails (the long island ice tea is a killer - two of those and you will have racked up at least 5/6 shots). The only downside is that it gets SO packed straight after work and peak times. Don't count on getting a seat.
a. a.
Amazing place and great cocktails! Highly recommend
S. L.
The cocktails are really good, and excellent value. And there's a nice crowd on a Saturday night. But beware using the toilets... they're are awful.
V. H. S.
My favourite bar in Covent Garden. Has not changed in 15 year. Small and dirty, with way too many cocktails and expect queues. Great music for +30 audience.
G. S.
A very nice place with good classic english music! Great atmosphere and even better cocktails!
The prices are neither expensive nor cheap.
A. L.
Good little bar. But much too popular for own good now. Attracts the 'Lonely Planet' crowd unfortunately. Still great cocktails though (in pint glasses!)
M. H.
Love the cocktails, love the ambiance, the staff is nice, but they are seriously busy. I feel sorry for them sometimes. They are all knackered by midnight and do their best to smile!
M. M.
Don't think they did food. Cocktails were good. Massive range, good classics, nice atmosphere. difficult to think if anywhere that's better value in terms of cocktails around here
T. S. L.
Open since 1986 this café-bar space is most known for its buzzy, lively, and packed on weekends atmosphere, whilst serving ridiculously cheap cocktails in light of its central London location (around £7). This is a great place when in the area and wanting a going-out laugh with friends.

You might be forgiven for passing on its doors many times without realizing it but once you discover this little gem you can't go back. Terrifc selection of cocktails and some good dam music too. Get there early if you would like a seat, they get crowded everyday.
P. A.
Great cocktail selection, decent prices in a 'dive' bar type of setting. Can get really busy, but if you get a spot you will have a cosy time.
S. S.
Minimalist underground bar, with a comprehensive (and cheap) cocktail list and pounding club music. Cool crowd and popular for its simple but effective concept: good drinks, good music.
M. P.
Best bar with awesome atmosphere and great vibes - especially the manager Francesco, who helped make our party we hosted there really superb
J. W.
Looking for a cocktail bar to while away the hours? Frevd is the place for you.
Hidden away at the top of Shaftesbury Avenue (and underneath a shop of the same name) Frevd is a cocktail of music, alcohol, and london people that I find hard to live without. It gets busy, REALLY busy. But that's part of the fun. It feels bohemian without pretention and cramming 'round tiny tables with strangers is all part of the fun.
Get there early, secure a good spot (buy your barman/woman a drink) and then enjoy your evening of madness! :)
R. A.
Great drinks and very affordable! Nice service
H. H.
Great cocktails, good music, decent prices. It's down the stairs if, like my friend, you couldn't find the door
L. H.
Great and fairly priced cocktails from a huge range on the board. Go with a group on a quiet night and you'll have a good time, no vibe at all when it is quiet.
S. D.
Amble past Heat towers on Shaftesbury Avenue. Stumble down cool steep stairs. Try and find table. Fail. Drink deceptively strong pints - yes, pints - of cocktails. Chat. Stumble up cool steep stairs. Crawl home. Repeat as soon as possible.
Z. S.
Cocktail bar with a very different feel to the speak-easy style that is now very common. Huge selection of well made and interesting drinks.
A. Y.
A beautifully crowded bar, with plenty of goings on. Fantastic cocktails and you'll often spend your time who people other than those you arrived with.
P. M.
One of the best kept secrets in London - massive range of large cocktails about as cheap as you can get in London - always busy!
T. T.
Very nice cocktails
B. C.
Great little hidden gem of a bar, really cool place with a New York feel to it. Only downside is that the place is tiny and usually overcrowded. Great cocktails!
R. J.
Great atmosphere in this bar. Cocktails are tasty with great choices. Nice music. The place to be in central london
T. G.
Great bar.. One might think the cocktails tent to sound very "tropical" or "sugary", but in fact they are extremely refined and delicious.
A. S.
Loud, extremely expensive, and usually very crowded. The cocktails are actually pretty good if you can force yourself to stay long enough to drink one.
J. B.
Hidden downstairs this is a good place to grab some interesting cocktails with friends. Staff are fast and friendly and the interior is a break from typical high street puns and bars that surround it.
t. g.
The pictures that you see on walls are for sale, that is amaizing, the ambient is nice, good people around but the walls are little bit dirty. Good pub
M. N.
Great little bar, with wonderful cocktails, that I always go to when in London. Definitely recommend A*
J. C.
This is a cool place without being too trendy. It is quite small so seats are hotly contested. Really good happy hour between 4-7pm
j. s.
Great cocktails nice music and art, the mixologist held up two card readers for me and my girlfriend to "tap" simultaneously! Fantastic!
C. L.
What a random find! Glad they had water!
a. r.
A regular since 1998, few things have changed and other few have been re-introduced , good cocktails and friendly staff , someone knows what they doing, could do with more DJ sessions .. my number 1 kaftian London
M. O.
Love this hidden gem, and have been a customer on and off for 15 year. Cool vibes, chilled music and banging cocktails in a utilitarian underground bunker.
M. Z.
Great bar, open until much later than other bars in the area so a great place to go if you just want one more drink.
i. V.
Lovely little hidden gem! Cool atmosphere, very casual and the cocktails are tasty and reasonably priced considering where it is located!
R. C. H.
Love this amazing little underground funky cocktail heaven.
W. B.
Excellent, professionally prepared cocktails in an intimate, yet urban emvironment. Pretty cool

As any mediocre cocktail bar in London it’s incredibly overpriced, but the overall atmosphere is allright. Fun thing is you give the staff music recommendations and they’re quite receptive to that.
G. B.
Great service and amazing cocktails. Love the atmosphere. Will be back to try more.

V. H. S.
My favourite bar in Covent Garden. Has not changed in 15 year. Small and dirty, with way too many cocktails and expect queues. Great music for +30 audience.
P. R.
My best cocktail bar in this part of town. Keep on coming after my first time 20 years ago...
U. Y.
Go, it's brilliant fun and the music is great. The people are a mix of cultures. And no pretentious people seem to be hanging around.

Wide variety of drinks, nice music, nice atmosphere. If you look for a good bar in London, this is the place to go.
P. N.

I love this place!!
Great cocktails , nice healthy food , lovely design and a real underground vibe.
S. S.
Minimalist underground bar, with a comprehensive (and cheap) cocktail list and pounding club music. Cool crowd and popular for its simple but effective concept: good drinks, good music.
J. G.
Still great place after having gone after a long time ago
P. S.
Wide variety of drinks, nice music, nice atmosphere. If you look for a good bar in London, this is the place to go.
T. G.
Great bar.. One might think the cocktails tent to sound very "tropical" or "sugary", but in fact they are extremely refined and delicious.
B. C.
Great little hidden gem of a bar, really cool place with a New York feel to it. Only downside is that the place is tiny and usually overcrowded. Great cocktails!
F. M.
Casual bar. Old rustic vibe. Good happy hour.

This industrial style basement cocktail bar is ridic. The chunky menu scribbled across the back wall and great drinks for £7 are the reasons why this place gets rammed.... If you actually manage to find it first. …

(Translated) Freud is a small speakeasy. Be 'not so small compared with other places with similar style. It is not one of my favorite places (for style) but it is one of those bars where I have always felt good.
The people who work there, even if they continually hug, are always sociable and helpful smiles. You can joke about it, as it is good that you respect yourself with batman.
Although cocktails are not those masterpieces found elsewhere in Soho, they are quite generous (I don't know if I can explain) and prepared with style. Prices normal and extremely varied depending on the ingredients. And another point not just: vast choice, between classic and small changes of classics.
But be careful what you are looking for. Freud can be a very social or simply "desk" place. But it sure is a place where the music is pretty high and where people pour especially after work. In a nutshell, not so elegant but ideal for pulling the plug.
(Original)
I. M.
(Translated) It is an interesting bar, in the basement of a building, and the atmosphere (although I saw nothing related to Freud) is interesting, with many cocktails at a good price, but the music (from the 80s especially) was so loud that it was difficult Talk and certainly not cozy.
