Great ambiance, local food and a fair price.

Friendly boozer, popular with the post work crowd from some big offices in the locality - reasonable food off a pub favourites style menu but this is not a gastropub. Good for sports (screens indoor and out) and good in the summer as it has two terraces. Look out for the landlord's cat! Comfy seating and darts on the third floor. Good opening hours.

Best pub in the 'City' in my opinion. The only decent pub with an outdoor area. Private rooms for hire across three floors with a multi layer outdoor area. Selected sports shown on occasion. Great staff. Solid food. Standard beer choice but good spirit selection. I love this place.

We were welcomed with warm smile and greetings, staff were just amazing. Great food and drinks, the interior of the place gives off a very warm atmosphere. We had a good time here!

A great pub, various groups I belong to have meet ups here. Good food and they keep up with the cocktails too. Some of the Beers sometimes not available, but I do not drink beer so no impact on me. Manager and staff take good care of us.

Really nice little pub. A large variety of drinks, with prices not to ridiculous for London and its very central location. The food was delicious, would recommend eating. Reasonably priced and not a long wait. The only downside to that place is that because it is popular and small, seating can be an issue, but plenty of space to wait around the bar until someone has finished. Have been a few times, and would definitely not hesitate in returning.

Nice atmosphere. Good selection of beers, wine and spirits. Getting served was a little slow, but I think the sudden sunshine caused a panic in needing someone outside collecting glasses, which is fair enough. Plenty of space outside, covered and uncovered and there seemed to be alot of seating

Obviously the best pub in Farringdon. Huge beer garden/terrace for the area. Similar to the Faltering Fullback in Finsbury Park. But this pub is DOG FRIENDLY. Most sports available. Private function rooms. This is one of those rare pubs in the city that, even if you live and work while away from, you actually might travel to just to have a drink in. Staff are ace. Solid menu too. What ain't to like.

Great environment - I work next door and its a fav jaunt for my colleagues. You struggle to get a drink on a Friday evening as they always seem understaffed. The beer "garden" at the back is very popular and a perfect hang out in the summer months. Also - the mens loo could do with a few more urinals? It can get quite crowded in there, especially on a cold night after a few beers!

I run a monthly event that takes place at the H&G, and have always been really impressed both with the service and drinks available. There's a very good selection of beers and ales, and some very nice spirits as well, including some excellent whiskies. I haven't eaten there, so I can't speak about the food, but I'd definitely be willing to give it a go given everything else I've seen of the pub. The balcony area is very pleasant, and is a great option if you want to get out of the heat and bustle.

Proper London pub. Good simple food, not chain restaurant rubbish. Top floor with comfy sofas. Resident cat. Free tampons in the toilets for those in poverty 👍

I had a good time with friends on the balcony a couple of weeks back. The atmosphere is very welcoming and the choice of drinks will cater to all tastes - there are fine spirits, a good selection of beer and ales, and wine, of course. Food is okay - exactly what you'd expect from a pub.

The Hoop and Grapes is a well placed pub serving a broad range of lagers and ales. There's a lot of history to this pub and it's surprisingly large considering its location. With a beer garden at the back, which a lot of central London pubs lack, this is a nice pub to visit in all seasons. Worth trying the Whitstable Bay ale if passing.

Decent old fashioned English pub. Great location if you need a break from the bustle (and prices at Borough Market) Guest ales and a good selection of bottles beers, ales and ciders where available on my visit. Staff are friendly and attentive and the house red is well prices and a decent drop.

Shepherd name pub, it's quite small and you can fill quite squashed and on top of each other. They have a fairly good selection of beers and a tv playing sports.
