J. M.Craft beers, good music and decent appetisers. Popped in for a bit and chilled in a relaxed environment. Bar staff knew a lot about their on taps. Served food and asked if i wanted any sauces, good customer service all round. I walked past it thinking it was a restaurant, then did a double take when I saw the taps. Recommend seeking out this place and the "Brewhouse & Kitchen", I can't choose between them.
L. O.Come for the beer, stay for the chicken. Oh the chicken. So juicy. The lady at the bar looked bored out of her mind. Average decor and atmosphere. Poss could benefit from some acoustic panels, was pretty loud even when not full. A solid option if you're in the area (the beer and chicken are great) however overall I wouldn't rush back.

A. C.Proper hipsters hangout from the Hammerton Brewery. Alongside all the usual IPAs and lagers they do great stouts and sours. They are almost all gorgeous, frequently quite strong, pretty expensive and the progenitors of terrible hangovers if you aren't careful. Great beer.
F. T.Really friendly service and a really tasty selection of regular as well as gluten free beer. They have one of their own gluten free beers on tap, as well as a few others bottled/canned. Takeout is an option as well!

R.I love this place, easy walking distance from tube station, right there on the main road, nice atmosphere , nice vibe, very friendly, children and dog friendly, we had the beef Sunday Roast and it was to die for! The ice cream is sooo good, you can actually taste the real strawberries, inmense variety of beers (their own and friends) and other drinks to choose from, and they also have their special peruvian roast chicken which is delicious and my favourite , tequeños, yum!
Definitely a place to keep coming back to bookings advised but they also try and accomodate walks in, really recommend it !
G. S.Great selection of beers both by Hammerton and other local and not so local breweries. Four cask beers as well as lots of keg craft beer. Good bottle selection.
E. W.Cool bar. Bit quieter than those on upper street due to its location. Can get a little dark on a sunny day but still serves up great beer! It partners up with the Mexican down to road to serve food.

E. H.Living locally, just went for a wander in search of a decent beer and stumbled across recently opened House of Hammerton. What a great selection of locally produced craft beers! The stout is something else with oyster in the brew, and the N7 and Apprentice No More IPA's hit the summer spot right there. No more ghastly Peroni or mass produced ales for us, hooray!

B.One of the best brewpubs around - great range of IPA's pale ales stouts and porters - great vibes and even though I have reviewed before , it has to be said they opened during covid in the best way - order by app, clear rules etc. Great place and addition to the neighborhood, try out their taproom too for specials.
C. M.Warm and intimate atmosphere. Really laid back and board games were a nice touch. Great selection of beers and friendly staff who seem interested in the craft beer they serve. The kitchen makes some great comfort food especially their Halloumi Burger! Well worth a visit!
T. S.Great selection of beers. But really bad service. Was there today and the lady at the bar stopped helping us mid service to help her friends first, made us wait while she talked to them. Then she came back to pour our drinks unwilling and badly and again made us wait a long time to pay while she complained to her friends about how she wanted to have gotten Saturday off and how the place was "a mess". And if their are still doing happy hour £4.50 we were overcharged paying over double that price for their NEPA.
D.Very good selection of beers and ales. The food is amazing. The atmosphere is very chill and relaxed. Staff are very friendly and helpful. Check it out.
03.12.19 Ok since my last review, the food menu has changed and it's not an improvement. Pizza is ordered in smh. Still the beers and the ales are still winning. Whoop whoop!

M. T.Modern brewpub focussing on Hammerton brewery beers. Naturally the beer is very fresh, but these guys are not my favourite craft brewers. Everything is good, but not quite excellent.
They cover all beers: pilsner, IPAs, stout, geuze, saison etc. They have a range of board games you can play and they also do food. Overall a nice relaxed place to come for a few pints.

J. W.An odd bar! Tables laid out spaciously like a restaurant but without a food menu. Nice noise level for conversation. EXCEPTIONAL choice of beer. The 11% stout served in half pints only is stunning, like a wine version of Guinness.

P. P.Knowing the Hammerton brewery when a friend shared the news of their pub opening I immediately decided that I need to give it a try.
The place is done nicely and with taste. There is of course a good selection of draft beers / ales from the brewery and a large selection of bottled bee and a good lively crowd.
I haven't tried the food this time around but I will definitely do next time.
The only thing that is a bit negative is that Holloway Road is a a bit noisy (I visited in July and the doors were open).
A. S.I came here because we sell many Hammerton beers in the pub that I work at and wow, I was impressed. Tried a few of their own beers on draught (they have TWENTY) and was not disappointed. Ordered some food (the Holloway Hot burger) and it was one of the best burgers I’ve ever tried. The atmosphere is very cosy and staff is friendly and accommodating. Would definitely recommend!

Nice atmosphere and design, with a weird toilet: the flusher makes music. I mean it, it does sound like a bell melody of a disney movie.

H. H.Great little metal as punk bar. Friendliest staff I've met in an 'alternative' watering hole. Cheap beer, great music, and the decor alone will keep you entertained for hours. I can't recommend this place enough!

J. R.This place is the perfect place to unwind with a good selection of wine,beer real coca cola (in bottles) and a small selection of non alcoholic beers. A true gem. There's also a flamboyant young female artist, who's down to earth. Marvellous.

M. S.A great local Islington brewery + an excellent pub location on Holloway Road = a craft beer lover's dream. With 20 draught lines, you're sure to find something you like (especially if you want to try a wide variety of London/England/UK beers). It's well worth visiting their actually brewery taproom, but HOH is an excellent alternative that's got more normal pub hours!
M. M.If you love rock, metal, punk music then this is a great little place for you to wet your whistle! Great bar staff too.

R. J.House of Hammerton is a pub formerly known as the Black House in the 1970s. The building itself was briefly the start of radical black Britain. Also John Lennon and Tokyo Oni stood on the roof of the pub swapping their cut hair with a pair of Muhammad Ali shorts. It has a great range of beers and lots of seating. The pub is located 5 minutes away from Highbury and Islington Station.
