Reviews of Humble Grape Canary Wharf
T.
Great selection of wines; mulled wine was particularly good.
Food was rather average - Yorkshire pudding not good! The meat and cheese board well worth it especially if you pick a lovely wine to go with it. Maybe the pardon peppers too - the rest of the menu don’t bother with, it’s priced rather highly for whatever you get.

4 of us came here for Bottomless Brunch on Saturday. We had 'The Grazer' - a deal of 3 small plates & bottomless wines from a selection for 90mins at £35pp.
Since there were 4 of us, we basically ordered the whole menu of small plates and got to try everything.
I particularly recommend the Hake and Seared Octopus.
For the wine, we had a choice Red, White, Rose and Sparkling. All of which were delicious.
The interior is beautifully decorated and various wines are display on the shelves. Our waiter was so friendly and attentive and our glasses were never empty!
Honestly, for £35, this is an amazing deal, as each of the small plates average around £8-10.
Can't fault this place, we'll be back for more!

We had the Sunday roast (chicken option) and it was great. So were the staff too. Definitely will visit again. They do bottomless drinks, including wine, at a certain times on Saturday.

Nice food and great wine list.
The dishes we tried were great. Flavours were mostly well balanced with some interesting options and some more common. Everything we ate was lovely.
We visited while there were still restrictions on indoor hospitality and on a day with intermittent showers. I had called 4-5 times in the week to change the booking from 5 to 4 people but no answer. When we arrived we were told our table would be be uncovered and that I had been informed- I had not. Had they picked up the phone when I called and told me this I would have cancelled as we knew it would rain and were tempted to cancel our plans but only going ahead because it appeared all tables were covered from the website photos.
Instead we sat outside with our umbrellas making the most of being able to meet again. It wasn’t the end of the world but I’d have preferred they were upfront about just not guaranteeing a covered table.

Really cosy place. We went for a wine tasting and it was so nice to hear the stories beyond the grapes for each variety of wine that we experienced. I find it the best place if you want to realise that the pairing of wine with certain types of food is actually what makes or breaks it.
J. N.
The food was very good, one of the waiters stood out for his personality, very good at his job. The service in general exceptional although unfortunately the portions are quite small.
C. L.
Would have given 5 out 5 if dessert was better! The chocolate brownie was a little too blunt, too rich couldn’t finish all
J. F.
Lovely hidden gem just found a few corners on the wharf. Delicious food, tasty wine, and Carmen was a wonderful server. A fantastic lunch spot.
J. W.
The Sunday Roast is amazing. Excellent food, excellent wine selection. We asked to be recommended a wine to pair with our roast and after given a price point we were presented with some options. We chose and it was an excellent pairing. I have always had a great experience when visiting this establishment. Service is fantastic, food is so so good, and the wine knowledge is amazing. Can’t wait to go back.

Always fun to have a flight of wine (4 glasses of tasting). Though I didnt understand why everyone was seated in the same small section of the restaurant (tables next to each other) when there is enough space to give better social distancing.
B. D.
Absolutely love this place! They have a great selection of wine and always have good recommendations! Also really like the offers they have throughout the week and the staff are very knowledgeable. 4 stars only as the food could be improved on - for the prices advertised, the tapas could be bigger as we always leave feeling hungry despite having paid what we’d usually pay for a main, starters and drinks at other London venues.
B. G.
Lovely, friendly atmosphere with fantastic wine selections. One of the best pasta dishes I’ve ever had, sized to share. Crispy cauliflower was also very yummy. Efficient service - not too invasive, but seemingly aware when you’re thinking another glass of wine would be perfect!

My partner and I have dined at the Humble Grape Canary Wharf a few times, and the overall experience has been great. The food is excellent and great value, and of course the wine is amazing.
The waiters are very knowledgable and have given us excellent wine recommendations. Looking forward to our next visit, would definitely recommend!

A lovely sunny, saturday afternoon meal at the humble grape. Alex was very accommodating and so polite. Carmen our server was excellent, pleasant and we were given everything we needed. They gave us a personal experience and the food was of high quality and speedy service.

This review is overdue. Almost a year. Apologies to the team, but at least good things come to those who wait.
First time we came here was the summer of ‘21, when the world was still reeling and smack down mid-Covid crisis. (We went back several months later for a shorter, but no less lovelier visit.)
We stumbled upon it somewhat by accident, having had a drink at a nearby soulless Canary Wharf bar that looked good from far, but was far from good.
The host said ‘hello and welcome’. I mention this because I can count with fingers in one hand the number of times it happens in the dining scene (as opposed to the first greeting words being “For 2?”🙄). More so, he seemed genuine when he did so and we knew almost inherently that we were on to a winner here.
The place moonlights as a wine shop, with shelves and shelves of bottles facing you as you enter. We came to eat though, and we were happy that we didn’t need a booking - and it did have diners there so maybe we were just meant to be.
Everything about the food, the wine, the service and the ambience had a purpose, a reason. Nothing was there by accident or without merit.
The food was amazing - everything on the plate had its place and role to perform. The wine was even better - recommended by the team member.
The team worked seamlessly and almost invisibly to deliver the best experience (as hospitality professionals, we notice and appreciate all the little things.) We had a nominal waitress, but at several points during the dinner we were tended to by another one, by the bartender and by the host/manager himself. They all..completed each other. It was as if they all had a running timeline of what was happening at our table, that no step was missed, none was repeated and no action was too early or too late.
This is a great place. Go visit.
k. l.
good collection of wine yet a bit pricy, food was awesome as well
N. U.
First start because it’s a prerogative
Second star because food was good! better than okay
Third star because our waitress was polite
However, one of the principles of great service especially in hospitality is to manage the presence of fellow customers; we had a barking dog in the restaurant 🙄🙄
Additional it is important to pay attention to the touch points…we had a problem with one of the food we ordered and the manager was impolite, assuming we just did not want to pay for it and never came back to offer any form of restitution.
Overall it was an okay experience.

Absolute hidden gem in Canary Wharf. We had a lovely welcome into the wine bar and we were recommended an beautiful bottle of red. Would definitely recommend!

Visit 16.06.21. Amazing place, location with an kkay waterfront view. The real selling point of this place is obviously the huge wine selection, which doesn't disappoint! The small food menu is brilliant executed, with great quality and presentation. The staff bring the place to life, being through, attentive but not overly so. Will be back for sure.

On 8th of March we had a dinner at Humble Grape, the restaurant is very cosy, food was good apart of risotto (overcooked). What made our night, was the service provide by Louis, he is amazing delivering such a good service, you can tell he is putting his soul into that. Thank you for that!
H. M.
I like coming here.. good wine bar and food selection to compliment the wine.
Staff are friendly and the atmosphere is nice and chilled.
Local favourite

Great experience, fantastic wine and even better service. Was blown away by the fantastic hospitality from Alex and his colleagues. Would do this every day if I could, 10/10.

I've been to Humble Grape - Battersea before but the New Humble Grape in Canary Wharf (opened now) looks great. Beautifully located by water, light and airy interior, delicious food and most importantly a fantastic selection of wines - can't ask for more. Amazing Humble Grape staff will be there to assist and help you with your wine choice. Highly recommended for any occasions
M. J. L.
Great overall experience! Carmen and Alex were very polite, approachable and accommodating! would highly recommend this place!
Food was 5 star too!
D. W.
Nice ambience and comfortable interior for a work lunch at the Wharf. Unfortunately loses a star for uneven wooden tables (difficult to cut steak; plate was clattering around all the time) and nobody coming to check on us before we got the bill. Didn’t drink any wine on this occasion.
M. P.
We made to feel welcome being greeted on arrival and shown to a table. As we had not visited before staff explained about how they were setup.
We found the staff knowledgeable and attentive.
The food here is very good we had a selection of cured meats and cheese they were superb and went well with the wine we were drinking.
Another feature they have is you can buy wine to take out and or drink at the table so if you do find a wine you like you could buy a couple of bottles to take home.
We enjoyed a couple of good glasses of wine overall very good.
L.
Lovely vibe - really good service where waiters are personable and knowledgeable of wine/food menus. Made us feel comfortable and welcome. Wine menu is extensive and the food is delicious! Highly recommend
T.
I love this place. It was my second visit. I would recommend the monthly wine flight, it's a great way to sample a range of wines. The waitress was lovely, as she let my guest and I try a few different options so we were always pleased with the glass we ordered. This is truly a lovely place to spend the evening or day drinking wine.
J. B.
THE most dog friendly place in London! (Not as in full of dogs, but our dog was absolutely pampered while there.) Impeccable service, wine and food to boot
A.
Nice place, they were upfront with us when we arrived that things could take a bit because of staffing shortage... But it didn't take long at all! The food was delicious, so was the wine... The staff were lovely. Overall a very pleasant experience, super friendly. Thanks.
D. L. L.
We had the bottomless brunch which was great value for money.
The service was amazing 🥰

Very nice addition to the CW bars/restaurants scene. Features indoor and outdoor seating. Very good food and great wine selection ! Staff is very friendly too !
A. P.
My best friend and I visited for my birthday drinks and nibbles, and we had such a lovely time. The drinks options were great (I recommend their house prosecco), food was absolutely delicious, staff were friendly and attentive. I had my 9month old with me, who is usually wary of strangers, but she was calm and loved the attention she got from them. 10/10, will definitely stop by again.
P. P.
Shout out to waiter Mauro (maurão), very friendly, great service and recommendations, he deserves a pay rise!
Lovely enviroment, good selection of wines and cheese. Will def comeback on a Monday with discounted prices.
R.
Amazing wine, and fantastic roast dinners! Lovely service and very knowledgeable about the wine selections
M. C.
Surprisingly excellent food for a wine bar, very accommodating staff, excellent rosé, great outside seating
J. L.
My first time visiting humble grape and I was sooo impressed. I went for a bottomless lunch and it did not disappoint. The food alone was worth £35 in my opinion but to have a choice of unlimited drinks also included in the price was amazing. We were aloud to swap and change which wines we were drinking and they were all great quality which you often don't find with bottomless lunches.
The staff were lovely. It was busy but we were made to feel very welcome and like nothing was too much trouble.
Thank you very much for a lovely afternoon and I can't wait to come back xx
J. K.
Went in for a Sunday Roast with my friend and we had the most wonderful experience. All the staff was just so lovely and attentive, food was great (highly recommend getting the lava cake and swapping the vanilla icecream for raspberry sorbet, simply divine!) and there was a great selection of wine. I've been raving about this place to everyone since and will be definitely coming back!
K. M.
Simply delightful with great staff. Delivers on wine selection and service every time I’ve been (on at least a dozen occasions for lunch, brunch or dinner throughout the week). Excellent food menu with a perfectly balanced variety of side & small dishes, mains and cheese platters all very well priced for the location. Also recommend the champagne choices.
K. A.
Food is delicious and the staff are friendly. They also allow dogs which is a perfect combination
F.
Wonderful! Food is excellent with a really great choice of wines. The staff are lovely and accommodating, especially with the current outside-only dining limitations that can sometimes be challenging with the changeable British weather! Such an enjoyable meal!
L. V.
Everything in this place is amazing. But let’s do it by parts.
1 - Incredible staff, very jolly people with very good knowledge of the wines and didn’t try to push us the most expensive wines, instead they surpassed our expectations. The chef came to our table to check if we were ok and he was very kind.
2 - we ordered a generous portion of seafood and it was absolutely delicious. I strongly recommend the octopus and the pork belly.
3 - very interesting wines, as they import it themselves they know exactly what to offer and what will pair with your food/mood/moment.
Well done !! I’m definitely coming back ;)
P. K.
I found it a little on the expensive side with usually good wines. We also did the tasting which was okay. :)

Decided on a last minute whim to see if we could get a dinner booking, which was happily successful so wandered up to the Humble Grape as it was a reasonably nice May evening. The service was very considerate, we were seated when we arrived early and then we were moved to seats closer to the heater very soon after.
We decided to share the Butchers Board with a side of chips each which was enough for us, the marinated steak was especially delicious and could have done with more but we were happy with all of the food provided. We weren't aware beforehand but the server kindly informed us there was a Monday discount on the wine so we upgraded our 500ml carafe of Château Hourtin-Ducasse to a full bottle and thoroughly enjoyed it.
Would definitely visit again.

We loved this. Set by the water win Canary Wharf, just a short walk from the tube station, this is the newest branch of Humble Grape.
We went for weekend brunch, and it was the perfect pick me up after a long week. The food was excellent (Vegetarian Full English, and Avocado on Toast), with cups of tea.
Service was excellent - Leah was incredibly welcoming - and we were easily persuaded to try some wine as we sat in the sunshine.
The bar does regular events and tastings (they also have a private function room) - we'll definitely be back!
V. P.
We had the best experience! Food was very tasty, staff were helpful and friendly and they have a vast list of wines to choose. The restaurant is also very cosy and stylish, a truly hidden gem in the middle of Canary Wharf! We're going to be back soon!
S. X.
Enjoyed the food and great wine selection. Attentative service, helpful and friendly. Cannot fault it really. Monday is retail price night which topped it off for us.
m. h.
Interesting and unusual wines complimented by a surprisingly diverse food menu. Make time to enjoy both
E. D.
Great place to enjoy a glass of good wine and some tasty food. This is the third Humble Grape I visited and each has their own thing going. Love it. Staff is super friendly and as with the other HG restaurants the selection of wines is top notch. Will definitely return.
H. L.
I booked a private tasting for my birthday under the theme of "Expect the Unexpected" and I was blown away. Both of our hosts had a wealth of knowledge and enthusiasm. We all had a fantastic evening with delicious and interesting wines. I can't wait to go back! Thank you!
I. S.
Extremely happy that Humble Grape got to Canary Wharf. Similar to their other branches, food and service is amazing and wine list is one of the best out of wine-focused restaurants and bars in London.
Pistachio Tiramisu is an amazing twist on the classic but the whole menu is pretty great.
Isabella in particular has been great when I visited recently, suggesting great wine choices.
o. j.
Amazing new Humble Grape in Canary Wharf by the quay. Spacious, modern and cool looking. Friendly staff who looked after us so well, especially my friend with her new born baby. They gave us detailed information about the flights of wine. Big portions and high quality food. Thanks to Pippa & the team x
M. P.
I went there on a Tuesday evening with 2 friends. The team was very welcoming, friendly and professional. Loved the deco and atmosphere. The wine list is amazing. We chose a French Malbec which was that good that we ordered a second bottle! The food was great too. We had almost all the small plates: fish tacos, aubergine, scallops, pork belly, meatballs and baked Camembert. Everything was delicious. My favourite was the pork belly. All these dishes for 3 people was the perfect amount of food. This did not stop us to have a dessert: pistachio roll, chocolate saucisson et sticky toffee pudding. The toffee pudding was my favourite. No need to say that I highly recommend that restaurant. Special thanks to Romain and his team for looking after us. See you soon.
J. S.
A fantastic selection of wine, tasty cheese/charcuterie and we enjoyed all of the dishes ordered. Friendly staff as well to boot!
V. K.
Thank you for the wonderful lunch! Delicious fresh food and fries to kill for.

Great staff and lovely wine recommendations!
B. C.
Amazing atmosphere, wine is incredible and Alex who served us is the best guy ever, so friendly and knowledgeable in regards to wine with an infectious smile and personality!!!
N. G.
Such an exceptional space! The elements and design touches are breathtaking with such an ergonomic flow. Also, it has an eclectic selection of mouthwatering wines and even some delicious gins that are complimented with the charcuterie and cheese board, and even seasonal dishes! Cannot wait to visit them again!
A. M.
Nice place and excellent service. If you go on Mondays they have wine by the bottle at retail price, so it's very reasonable!
A. W.
The name should be changed to humble grape & food, as the meals are certainly as good as the wine that complements it. Highly recommended
V. S.
They have a nice selection of wine and knowledgable waiters if you are looking for a recommendation. I would have given it 5 stars if it wasn't for the service, I had to wait 30 mins and remind the waiters 3 times before I got the bill.
S. F.
Joined for a bottomless brunch on Saturday! Super impressed, thank god there's a (quality) choice other than the Breakfast Cxxx in Canary Wharf. Had the shakshuka. BTW they are dog friendly too!
S. K.
Food came coldish, everything else is OK. Nice place.
