Reviews of Humble Grape Liverpool Street

A hidden gem near Liverpool Street. Knowledgeable staff - ask for recommendations! A wide range of wines from which you can choose something hard to find in retail shops. Will certainly go back.

Just happen to be strolling by and wandered in looking for a quick glass of wine. Instead I had a whole experience! It was wonderful! Great snacks and cheese selection along with a wine selection for anyone. I’ll try to come back when I’m in this part of town. Hidden gem as others have said!

Lovely place. Cozy. Food is delicious. Of course, a good selection of wine. The perfect place for a nice and chill night with wine and cheese. I recommend it!

Food here here is delicious. Ate the patatas bravas, Baba ghanoush and chorizo. It's definitely a place to share small plates with a group of friends. Service was excellent, our group had different allergies so the waitress was very helpful in providing an alternative menu indicating the allergens. She also helped us select wine based on our tastes. Superb place!

My colleague and I had lunch here today. We shared the mussels which were cooked perfectly and served with crispy bread and the mackerel pate. The wine was very nice and our server was very friendly. We be back in the evening to enjoy more of the delicious wine.

Nice wine bar serving some interesting twists on tapas style food ( which by the way is very tasty ) there are some great wines from small producers to taste and purchase to take away if desired, the front of house staff are friendly and knowledgeable. The big advantage is its just off the main drag enough to usually get in to eat easily.

An evening of two halves!
I visited Humble Grape on Liverpool Street on a Tuesday. Great start to the evening, lovely cosy venue, amazing wines and the food was delicious. Staff were attentive (it is a table service venue) and polite. Me and my friend were thrilled we had found the perfect place for future meet ups.
2 hours later this all changed. The staff had clearly decided they wanted to close, it was 8.30 at this point. They talked openly about how they would shut when we (us and another couple in the bar) had finished. One staff member even suggested blowing the candles out. When a 3rd party came in they rolled their eyes. A member of staff looked at me while yawning theatrically. Table service stopped with no-one checking if we’d like more drinks. I signalled to a staff member behind the bar that I’d like to order some more drinks but he seemed to expect me to shout this over vs come to take our order at the table so I ended up having to go to the bar to order. Our plates of bar snacks were silently cleared away without checking we had finished even though my friend was still eating (still actually chewing while the plates were removed), the staff member had obviously decided it was time to get the washing up done and plates were clanged around pretty loudly (which again I felt was a hint to us to leave!). And finally when we received the bill we were overcharged by £10 for our prosecco even though there is only one type on offer on the menu....
It is a relatively new venue for the chain so they obviously haven’t got the staffing side of things right quite yet, I liked the venue apart from this so will pop back in a few months to see if things had changed. I wrote this review to prevent others having such a strange experience while they get up and running. It was my birthday too so particularly disappointing :(.

Trendy wine bar with wide selection of fine wines, where friendly staff will help you out in case you were spoilt for choice. They know everything about their wines! Selection of red, white and bubbly from over the world is right there so do come round. Having tasted quite a few of Juusto's recommendation so far I can pretty much guarantee everyone will find wine for their taste.
Saying this is someone who is hardly a wine person!

A very cozy atmosphere with really friendly and helpful staff. Definitely recommend for an relaxing evening date or friendly night out.

Excellent wine, food and service.
On Monday special price on wine where dine in prices are similar to take out prices.
Only negative would be overall space and proximity with other tables.
Great music!

This is a really cool place to have some nice wine (excellent selection and well-informed staff) and the sharing plates are perfectly complementary to enjoying a bottle or two!
Relaxed and even cosy ambience - good place to take a date or hang out with a group of friends.

We had a lovely evening at The Humble Grape - Chantelle and her colleagues were incredibly knowledgable, passionate and helpful when it came to wine advice and selection. Nice relaxed ambience, only criticism is that the cork seats could’ve done with a cushion 😊 We’ll definitely be back

We were politely seated by Dean with a warm smile. We didnt eat any mains due my picky food requirements however Dean reassured us saying "thats completely fine, enjoy yourself and take your time" we opted for drinks instead and Dean listened to our preferences and gave us some excellent recommendations! Overall great evening and amazing service.

Wine shop, with excellent range and serious knowledge, that doubles as a restaurant pairing very complementary food. A wonderful welcome and some of the best food and drink I've savoured. A true hidden gem.

What a great find. This place is tingly but serves great food. We had the tapas plates over lunch. Roasted chicken, Sausages, cheese and ham hock toastie. Strong wine selection. Very reasonably priced. A great find.

I frequent the Humble Grape in Islington and was delighted to see that the Liverpool Street location is equally as nice and inviting. Desiree and Katya were incredibly helpful both with wine/food selections and in showing us the space for a possible corporate event.

Lovely service, great wine advice and a super toastie. Just the ticket when catching up with a friend. Shame I didn't have time to wine shop as there were lots of great wines for sale.

Very friendly service. It's heavily focused on wine, but I had a good time despite not being a huge connoisseur. Would recommend.

Really friendly & helpful service over lunch. Both the lamb tagine & confit chicken were delicious. Padron peppers were perfect 👌
Will be going back.

Small and friendly bar near Liverpool Street, part of a small chain. Very good value on a Monday when you can drink at retail prices.

Lovely place to meet friends for a chat with good wine and shared plates. Service for drinks was great but a little slow for food.
