Great little spot for a bit of Thai lunch or a few beers after work. Great outside area with loads of tables and do a few nice beers too. Contemporary look and feel to the indoor area. We went for lunch, and did the Johnny Rice Thai deal.. bit like a rice and three offer! Food was delicious and a great portion.. deffo worth taking a look if you are in the area.

TLDR; surprisingly good Thai food but was a tad expensive and cramped Came here on a Friday night and the place was rammed. The dining and bar area bleed into each other and so did the music and conversations. It was really difficult to have a conversation at one point. Generally the place felt a bit too cramped for a sit down meal. The thai food was surprisingly good and authentic. The pad thai in particular was the highlight. You can feel the “fire” and intensity it was cooked with. The curry and calamari were decent but a little salty. It was a little on the expensive side (~£13 for a curry) which can be justified for some dishes like the Pad Thai.

The atmosphere was lovely. Definitely a hole in the wall with a beautiful outside seating area. You can hear the train above your head inside, which only adds to the atmosphere of sitting in a bar in the heart of London.

Just a brilliant bit of Archway engineering! Worth at least 6 stars.. a beautiful place, somewhat undervisited at the moment. I love it. This is a keg venue under the arches of Waterloo East, more or less, perhaps past the end of the platform. A really special place with lovely staff, just fantastic. Long may the beer flow and add to the happiness of the planet!

Went to Jack's Bar last night and ordered from the Johnny Rice section. The staff were so knowledgeable on all the drinks they serve and the food was phenomenal! (Particularly the Chiang Mai Chicken and both mains with rice!). Definitely will be back and raving about this. Such a hidden gem; perfect balance of value, flavours and portion sizes.

I love wheat beer and Thai food, and this bar has both. I wish I could come here more often. The front of the house staff is amazing. I had my tasty Thai lunch but was hungry again by 4pm. The waiter sorted me out with some free crisps, which was nice because I could continue drinking more bear. The waitress that served me my launch was very attentive. I've known about this place for more than a year and I only have good feedback. Don't miss out as Ricky and Jade will look after you well! 👍🏻

The food was great, really tasty. I had three different tacos and fries. Others had a burger or pizza. We were happy with our food and drink but it was very cold inside as one of their doors was being resealed and so we were exposed to the elements.

Nice place for afterwor drinks. We've been there a couple of times. They have a cocktail of the week for £5 which is good. They also have some nice beers including one fresh from Czech Republic. Staff is friendly and service reasonably efficient when taking the number of drinks they are serving. The terrace has a foldable roof which is nice with the current weather.

Dinner with friends over a weekday here. Tucked away from the main street is this nice cocktail pub that does great thai food. Prices are reasonable for the part of London it is located at. Gets really busy and may struggle for a table. Dark walnut floors, nice lighting, great food and their own brewed lager is pretty decent. Overall thumps up from me!

A friend and I went here buy accident last week because all the Thai restaurants were closed. From the outside I had low expectations and was surprised when they were massively exceeded. To start with the bouncer on the door was friendly. Then the barman was friendly, funny, and patient. Then the food (red and green currys) arrived quickly. Then it tasted EXCELLENT! Then the next barman was also friendly. WTF? This never happens in London! There is a nice lounge area that I think I'll try booking for my birthday this year. Highly recommended. Good work guys.

Jacks is one my favourite bars in London. Great location. Staff are so friendly, as are the door supervisors. It’s a unique bar and has a real friendly atmosphere. Haven’t tried the food, but I have been told it’s really good. They have great cocktails at reasonable prices. Recommended.

I love going to Jack's for lunch. They have amazing food and the bar is really nice. They have an out door bit too. You cant take the food away or eat in. They also offer pimm's on tap so great for the summer. It's a great place to have drinks after work.

Been here twice on weekends, and I would highly suggest to arrive early as it gets completely full up later in the night. They have a nice selection of pizzas which you can eat at the comfortable tables around the seating area across from the bar. The atmosphere is nice and service is alright. The space is pretty cool, being under one of the archways. I’m not one for overly crowded pubs, but the crowd are all pretty chilled out and nice if you don’t mind a busy place.

Jack's bar had really great Thai food at good quantities and fair price for the area and I would certainly recommend it for that at lunch. They also have a wide selection of alcoholic beverages which I could recommend to suit anyone's taste in evening drinks. Since I've been going there, over 6 months, the portions of Thai food have been shrinking quite a lot, id say by about a third. Disappointing. However still the best food around so I won't intend on stopping going there. If they shrink the portions anymore I will have to give them 4*!

A decent drinks bar at the Waterloo Station area, full of young people and quite busy at the night time. The drinks are affordable and the music is loud. Food is not the best. The place is not very cosy and inside is always busy, loud and chaotic. What is really nice about the place is the potted greenery, plants and some flowers just outside the bar, by the entrance. The area around this place gets very empty at night so watch out and don’t walk, try to take a cab.

Great atmosphere, good selection of beers and wines and a fantastic location. I personally like busy places on a night out in central London, but if you don't, you may not like it. I didn't actually try a cocktail, so can't advise there but they're set up with good quality ingredients. This is one of those places where you think you've found a table only to discover it's been booked, so you probably won't get to sit down if you're a spontaneous visitor.

However this wasn't a problem as they have a host who is a true gentleman. He was charming and courteous and arranged for our table. Wasn't expecting that kind of service!! Loved this place! Hidden treasure - for me at least. Some excellent beers/ales on tap and tried the mini food selection as well - it's the best mini-food I've ever tasted and compares better than some very good restaurants I've been to. We tried the mini burgers and the tacos and they were sensational. Loved the wide selection of drinks on tap as well as the knowhow of the bar staff behind the bar when asked for a old fashioned for me and a mocktail for the Mrs, that she absolutely loved. Great décor, Top quality staff, Great vibe and enough drinks to keep you satisfied whether that be on a night out drinking or just chilling all day long. Have been there a couple of times with large group and small group and will keep going again and again.

Cocktails are poorly balanced and don't taste like they should. Expensive price for average cocktails. Even managed to make a bad negronis. It's 3 ingredients of equal parts. How's it even possible? Maybe good for an after work beer but I will not be back.

I had no idea this place existed until I searched it up, it's perfectly out of the way so it isn't too busy. The whole place is very rugged and raw and the drinks available were really nice however they can be a bit pricey. But I am definitely going back when I get a chance.

This place is like two different places mashed into one under the railway arches in isobella street hiding behind Southwark station During the day it acts like a Thai box takeout. A great Thai box takeout with Jack's Thai setting up a little stall at the front. This attracts a huge line. They do a standard range of about 4 choices of Thai dishes, one usually being veggie. With a choice of rice or noodles. Big portions, very yummy and you can eat in. The Thai food was originally at the windmill pub on The Cut before it moved here. In the evening Jack's bar is a very busy cocktail and alcohol bar. It has a good size outdoor area and often has happy hour.

Nice location with a nice outdoor area which looks like it would be inviting in the summer, though as I visited on a cold December evening I stayed inside. There is a restaurant attached offering diner style food (wings, pizza and hot dogs), though I comment on the quality as I didn't eat there. The atmosphere is nice and the staff seem friendly enough. Choice of wine isn't great with just four each of white and red, a prosecco and a champagne.

A hidden gem right under your nose. The path known as "Isabella Street" is a bit of a revelation when you discover it, all tropical shrubs and drinks and dining, located literally under the railway arches just behind Southwark tube station. Jack's Bar is the highlight, with a great atmosphere and friendly staff. Who says this is the wrong side of the river?

Busy on Thursday/Fridays after the offices turn out. Tranquil and relaxing in the afternoons and at the weekend lunchtimes. A Minutes walk from the Cut Waterloo and Southwark station. 5/10 minute walk Waterloo station, Blackfriars station. A little gem of a place.

If you have a thing for Thai food, then Jack's bar do a limited but an outstanding selection of lunch menu that tastes much better than any other Thai curry and rice /noodle takeaways in Southwark. The quality of ingredients are top class. Their tofu curries, for example, contain good quality soft tofu unlike the ones you get from cheap takeaways that feel and taste like rubber. The flavour and consistency are, what I would consider the best that £7.50 could buy. The quantity is also quite decent. But the best part is that you can choose to eat in at the bar that is well laid out and decorated at no extra cost and enjoy one of their speciality beers which go very well with Thai. Jacks bar is so spacious that you will never struggle to find space. It is located away from busy roads which means it's an ideal choice for a quite lunch or a lunch meeting. Needless to mention, in the evening it's one of the best outlets to socialise and down a few pints. All in all - an outstanding bar for locals, office workers and visitors.
