Reviews of Job Centre
D. W.
Locals favourite place. Great cocktails, beers and food. There is something about job center that it makes you feel welcomed no matter what’s your style or music you listen to. Food is delicious, I loved their steak sandwich. Must try! Wings are great too, as well as their appetizers with hummus and other dips.
D. H.
I like this place. It used to feel sparse but doesn't so much anymore. I didn't fancy a burger today as I'd already had one for lunch. But I did look at other people's food and it looked pleasant.
T. W.
Great venue, really cool vibe and the staff were all friendly and accommodating. Great food from the chef and the pints were actually really reasonable, not many places you can get an ale for £3.30!
R. T.
Tevin looked after us and was such a superstar!! We were so lucky! Food was diving too - especially the truffle fries and Asian fries. Great selection of drinks!
T. P.
After rehearsing at our Deptford studio, the Parasocials often need to refill the tank, be that with a pint or ten, or one of Chef Marcin's famous teriyaki chicken buns. Excellent food, excellent service and a great time all around!
J. H.
Good priced drinks and good food. Would be good if there was one more vegan small plate on the menu. Quieter now than it used to be on week days but makes it easier to get a seat.
J. S.
Lovely spacious pub, with lovely chillout ambience. Welcoming, lovely food, good value, real ale and good craft beer. Everyone welcome, including well-behaved dogs.
Z. M.
Came for the first time & I have to say that I had the most wonderful experience, was served by the lovely Gabriella who had the biggest smile on her face for the whole time we were in the pub &made us feel utterly welcome was very attentive towards myself &my family recommended the tofu bun, hallumi bun & Asia.fries, the food was exceptional kudos to the chef & thankyou to the both of them who really did make our afternoon a joy! Will definitely visit again soon
P. H.
Staff were so sweet and friendly and the beers and food were amazing. The best kind of evening out, chill and uncomplicated. Thank you.
D. W.
Great pub! Warm, quirky, authentic cool.
Excellent music, not too loud (Saturday was Reggae).
Truly exceptional food! Every single thing we ordered was superb, not at all what you'd expect of pub food. House made.
The Cheese puffs are friend cheese balls like you've never had before, with a mix of cheddar and cream cheese. Everybody was bowled over by these.
The fries with gravy and cheese were like Canadian Poutine.
The Langosh – Hungarian Fried Potato Bread, Garlic Yoghurt, Parmesan, Za’atar was brilliant - the bread itself was superb and with the savory and tart toppings we all agreed this checked nearly every box.
The Merguez Sausages, Tzatziki, Tomato Chutney, Straw Fries were spicy and delectable.
And the desserts! Basque Baked Cheesecake, Rhubarb and Blood Orange. And little balls of chocolate and coconut on top of a raspberry coulis were heavenly.
The manager and all the staff were super friendly and helpful.
My mates absolutely loved our time there and look forward to coming back!
R. B.
Quirky fun pub with friendly staff and some really good small plates so you can try pretty much the whole menu when you share it with friends. Highly recommended and definitely a little gem
G. M.
I love this place. Beautiful mix of South London people and the staff are spot on.
D. T.
A good warehouse style pub in Deptford, lovely polite staff serving good beer. Plenty of other options also available. An enjoyable visit!
B.
Quirky front facade, the european cusine menu has dishes that have to be ordered singly so you end up ordering 3 to 4 dishes to get a balanced main course meal, as none of the meals come with the usual rice, spuds or veg (hence why you have to order so many dishes). The is no parking but the station isn't too far, a bit on the pricy side for me.
O. F.
Will be better having inside as an option too but the food was so great, excellent tofu bun!
V. P.
99% of the time this is a wonderful pub. However when it's busy, they shouldn't allow punters to taste multiple beers. Totally fine when it's quiet but it they could rein it in when it's busy.
D. L.
Good fun boozer, great food and quirky decor
P. Z.
Great large local pub located in the former Job Centre. Good well priced beer. Locals of all ages with a good friendly atmosphere. One of the best drinking venues in Deptford.
L. T.
Cool dog friendly pub with a good drink selection and an awesome and unusual tapas style small plates - including the incredible cheese puffs. There’s DJs and music on the weekend and it’s normally really busy with a great vibe and an interesting mix of people.
K. S.
Sat in the little outside area with the wall art on a sunny day which was lovely. Good and cocktails were fantastic!
A. T.
Good beer good food good service.happy to have been here (again)!!!
J. K.
Great Sunday roast 🤤 also a really cool place and great service 🤩
K.
Visited for a friend's engagement party. Real nice venue.
D. “. S.
Reasonable priced beer and great atmosphere. The chips were great!
B. V.
Spacious place..beers & foods are good but little expensive for what you have
J. C.
The name of this establishment threw me off at first.
I wasn't quite sure what to expect when a friend invited me there but I was not disappointed when I got there. The ambiance is rustic but cool and boisterous at the same time.
It made me feel like I was fresh out of university and hanging out with like minded people. Maybe that's where the inspiration for the name and theme came from.
Oh and the food was nice too. Different. I liked it very much.
H. J.
Enjoyed a staff party at this venue in Deptford. Staff were polite and friendly. I loved the decor on the toilets too.
There is a little spot in the woman's, only the way I can describe there are mirrors and an old Victorian style desk to do your make up.
It is a nice intimate venue. I have enjoyed the food there too. Although I have not visited so much. But would recommend to anyone who wishes to find a good drinking establishment in Deptford. It is well located just near the overground station.
S. M.
Great venue off the increasingly up and coming Deptford High Street. Staff couldn't have been friendlier. Good beers, plenty of seating and an innovative, interesting and very tasty menu; the buffalo cauliflower was as spicy and as delicious, if not more so, as any buffalo wing I've had from Texas to Thurso!
O. K.
You can never guess that kitchen in this pub
is more than amazing! They change their tapas style menu frequently and every time it is surprisingly good! Today we enjoyed Hungarian sausages, salmon potato salad and bestselling langosh and cheese puffs. They also have great Sunday roast, you will love it if your are tired of the traditional boring one. Huge variety of cocktails and local beers, check this out!
B. M. P.
It's a fun place to go, but I'm not too keen on the food menu.
M. B.
Always an amazing experience at Job Centre, the menu changes each time I go and everything I've eaten there has wowed me to the extreme. The food is incredible to say the least, the flavours of the shared dishes are inventive and so well balanced, and the staff are really attentive and well versed in the menu. 10/10 will always recommend to friends and family (all of whom fall in love with this place and it's interior charm too)
S. P.
Good live music and nice mixed crowd. Their Sunday roasts is absolutely fantastic, one of the best in the area. The gravy is especially delicious which they slow boil to give a rich and intense flavour
G. O.
This place had a really nice vibe. Chilled and relaxing, loved that it was spacious and dimly lit. Great music with lovely staff
K. S.
Great local pub with a good selection of beers and a good vibe. Food has always been a big disappointment. The menu has far too many thing on it - none of which are done well. The menu needs simplifying to a few things done really well, rather than a lot of things done to a disappointing level. The pub is always busy on the weekend, perhaps it's a different menu then?
M. S.
I came here with low expectations of a packed hipster bar with bad beer, bad service and bad atmosphere. What I found was the complete opposite. On a Friday evening my small group enjoyed great drinks, tasty food, good music and quick service. There was a good atmosphere yet plenty of room. Everything was clean and tidy. I'll definitely come again if in the area.
e. t.
Nice, chilled out pub with a garden at the back. Near the overground station and on the main market road - you can't miss it. They have a good selection of beers and they serve food up to a certain time. It is quite big inside and the music is not loud so you can converse without shouting with your friends.
T. V.
It's a really cool and different kind of pub. The wine was good and the service was fine.
However I would have liked a little background music and maybe a few more smiles from the staff as it wasn't a particularly busy day.
I'll definitely come back again though
J. B.
With all these fancy new joints opening in Deptford I still end up at the Job Centre and always impressed. Food is delicious - I have never been disappointed. The langosh is way too tasty. The beer is great and the staff are really lovely. Not a bad word to say about my local and friends visiting from around London are always rather impressed.
J. H.
I went for lunch here with my partner last Sunday and was very impressed by the roasts they do here, will definitely become one of my regular sunday go tos! Decent sized portion for a good price and high quality (nice gravy and potatoes which is what it's all about). Also recommend the Mac and cheese balls, very tasty. In terms of the pub itself, it's a very relaxed atmosphere on a sunday.
J. B.
Nice outspace at the back. One large table undercover but the rest not. Food looked really nice, and beer was A*
R.
A little dark and dingy, but in a hipstery, speakeasy kind of way.
We went for Sunday lunch and the food was excellent. There were two vegan options, including the possibility of vegan Yorkshire puddings!
B. A.
The vibe is so good. Really good selection of Beers, Wine and spirit's. Food is excellent and the staff are so helpful and friendly. Definitely pop on by. You're love it.
S. N.
Scruffy and quirky in a good way, this pub, previously an actual jobcentre - it still has a jobs board, is a friendly local. It serves excellent non pub grub, small plates at reasonable prices and attracts an eclectic mix of people.
M. L.
I've only ever visited this place for an afternoon aperitif. It's very much the Deptford new scene which is, in essence, the Shoreditch old scene. On my visits I've never had anything to complain about but never felt any great appreciation of the establishment. If you like shabby-chic then this is the place for you. Indifference would be a good summary.
Z. P.
Love it! The atmosphere, the vibe and a nice selection of local brews to choose from! You can actually have a decent chinwag in here without being shouting at eachother ( depending on what evening you decide to go)
m. a.
£3.30ish for a pint of hop head. Say no more! Always able to get a seat as well. Despite what most people I talk to think just because of the name/history of the building, this is a good pub and is actually one of the more modestly priced places in the area. Clean, tidy no frills place.
C. D.
Quiet little vibe. Good beers.. Not much of an atmosphere.
F. S.
Always polite, friendly stuff.. really good seasonal food and options for vegans. Overall really great vibe.
e. t.

This used to the be the actual job centre back when I was 15 or so. For a few years now it has become The Job Centre, a cross between a local, a student bar, and a hipster pub. If anyone is wondering there is a strong tradition of naming pubs after their former uses e.g. The Old Fire Station. There was a lot of misplaced outrage over this when it opened, but it's a fairly inoffensive place, large and cavernous, with Rodeo from Villages on tap and some decent art on the walls. They've kept job boards up as well which is a nice touch and their always seems to be a good mix of people here.
M. S.
I came here with low expectations of a packed hipster bar with bad beer, bad service and bad atmosphere. What I found was the complete opposite. On a Friday evening my small group enjoyed great drinks, tasty food, good music and quick …
沈.
Really liked the vibe here. Good drinks selection. Looking forward to dropping by there again
D. A.
Great space, literally massive. They should use it better, do concerts, events, performance. Is a bit of a shame, I think it could be far more well used than that. Also, they should improve the food menu. Anyway I really like it.
m. a.

The selection of dishes is brilliant such a great variety especially the gluten free choices and the Sunday roast is amazing! definitely the best I’ve had in a long time.
M. G.
Good pub and nice vegan food options. Great on Fridays and weekends when they have a DJ. A bit run down but that’s a part of its vibe.
J. M.
Different. Its got a really good energy with a real mix of clientele. Ambiance is great. Staff lovely if somewhat rushed off their feet but would definately recommend especially at the weekend
B. L.
Quirky atmosphere, good food and great beers. Be sure to check out Future Jazz live music every first Sat of the month.
N. W.
Antic chain pub taking its name from previous occupants who I guess decided they couldn't effectively provide the service of giving people jobs, so Antic decided to provide jobs for the area instead. Decent selection of cask and keg ales, warm atmosphere, haven't tried the food but I'm always envious of the diners as it looks and smells pretty fine.
J. P.
Fun bar set in the old job centre - plenty of style and interesting drinks as well as great guest food spots. Can be quiet but also large enough for groups.
T. F.
Only ever been in in the daytime, staff are pleasant enough, good beer selection and the food takeovers look great but never had a chance to try. The decor doesn't stand up to daylight!
M. M.
Good drinks and interesting interior but sorry, £17 for Sunday Roast is a bit too much, it wasn’t even big.
L. H.
Good Beer Guide featured, with good range of beers and spirits. Excellent small dishes of food (several Hungarian) including vegetarian options.
D. P.
One of my most favourite places in London that also happens to pour great beer and serve outstanding pub food. Also tunes. Love you guys.
F. L.
Cool bar, massive interior and good selection of beers. Really like the interior, really spacious with lots of seating. Food was good, and everything fairly prices.
D. W.
Decent selection of beers, unfortunately there isn't much of a food menu. Decor is suitable on trend for the hipster vibe it is trying to create.
J. S.
Great vibe in this trendy bar. Nice cocktails, friendly bar staff and one of the best menus around, can't recommend the food enough.
P. S.
Wow, that’s all I have to say. The food is quite frankly better than some high end restaurants, the price is reasonable and the atmosphere unpretentious. This is a gem of a find. Highly recommend it.
G. C.
Quality boozer, huge inside and nice little garden. Good selection of beers and always been friendly service.
L. T.
Wonderful bar, freindly , good service , smoking garden at rear, clean with interesting decor. Very sociable place to be. Try quiz night for a bit of fun
K. F.
Don't be put off by the kerb appeal — the food is absolutely amazing! Lovely staff and a good selection of drinks, too.
R. K.
The vegan bun was delicious.
沈.
Really liked the vibe here. Good drinks selection. Looking forward to dropping by there again
E. A.
This place is a vibe. Its on a good strip and also very hip. Dope DJ'S decently priced drinks.. Its a win win mate
D. J.
Great trendy pub and very friendly staff. Food is excellent especially the veg roast dinner option although the menu choices are quite limited.
F. S.
Always polite, friendly stuff.. really good seasonal food and options for vegans. Overall really great vibe.
D. i.
Finally I've found a place that the good lady indoors incourages me to visit daily while im on the dole.(if only she knew what it really is) They should have these places nationwide.
I visited the job centre to look for a job and came out with a alcohol addiction. 5* all round.
B. F.
Love it. Awesome food, great beer. Cool terrace out the back. Regular DJs, lovely staff.
G. M.
Very nice bar. Been a few times. Not that busy but has a nice friendly atmosphere
L. S.
Very original place with great atmosphere, intriguing decor, beautiful people, good choice of good quality drinks, DJ, guest kitchen, back garden, dog friendly....the list goes on and on... It's a must visit place, but please keep it secret ;) We don't want to spoil it.
R. H.
Usual industrial decor, food ok but nothing special, fries soggy. On the plus side it's dog friendly.
M. D.
Interesting bar named after a former job centre that was on the same site. Now has up to six cask beers on, along with various Keg options and cocktails.
B. T.
Pub with good food and few options for vegetarians. Standard choice of beers and ciders. Nice service.
M. R.
Service was slow due to only having one member of staff working during "football" kitchen closed.
D. T.
Great bar, drinks variety was excellent but the male toilets lack privacy from the window and I worry about people looking in.
S. C.
It was just before last orders that I visited this bar .The barstaff were amiable and friendly,it was a Thursday evening and there were not many other customers but it was ok .
L. W.
Lots of space and seating, relaxed vibes. The food is surprisingly good and beer at reasonable prices.
A. D.
Vintage style pub with no fuss and over design. Good drink selection and good had a street vibe about it.
Y. S.
Such a great place to go out and chill. They have puzzles and a dj sometimes. Quite trendy with lovely staff.
M. G. (.
Great service, music, a food menu that is always changing, plenty of room, and lots of offers

They gave me a job so that was nice but I only came for a Pabst blue ribbon
p. m.
Genuinely used to be a jobcentre before Deptford was gentrified. Always a diverse bunch of people there, generally a good atmosphere.
R.
Nice relaxed atmosphere, good music. Pint of Blue Moon is a fiver.
M. M.
Friendly staff, decent beers and the house wine is surprisingly ok
M. B.
If Depford had a Michelin star it would go to this place. Only thing holding if back is that the portion sizes are too big.
D. B.
Great, friendly saloon bar / pub. Good guest ales, great cocktails.
S. A.
Drinks as advertised. Service with a smile. Some light bites went down a treat!
K. R.
Great pub , good atmosphere and fabulous glasses
