Reviews of Kings Arms
I. C.
Outstanding Fish and chip lunch, probably the best we've ever had.
Amazing selection of craft ales and wonderful staff.
Big thanks to the manager for making us feel most welcome.
We'll be back.
N. A.
Lovely staff, so helpful. But honestly, my roast was dry and bland. Guess it was like £13 or so, so wasn’t expecting the world but always a bit sad when you go out but make it better yourself. Thanks to the team but food wasn’t for me personally
W. W.
It was a perfect day to be sitting out in the beer garden for a Sunday roast. My eyes were bigger than my stomach and I went for both chicken and beef roast. The half chicken was delicious, the beef were bit dry and look as though each slice of the roast beef was cooked individually. The most disappointing bit was the lukewarm roast potatoes…
A. Z.
Great mulled wine! Stopped by here because we were in the area and everyone was super friendly. The drinks were amazing and that chocolate cake was to DIE for.
e. p.
Typical English pub, great atmosphere although i was a bit cold, my food was amazing and the waiting time worth it. The beer also fresh and tasty, although the fish was a bit oily.
G. S.
Been for drinks a few times here, absolutely love the place! Staff always friendly. Inside is just such a nice place to be! Definitely worth a stop here. Never eaten here but menu looks great with good choice of food and reasonable prices.
K. S.
Cold Guiness, fantastic fish and chips. Friendly service and a cozy garden patio.
Highly recommended!
E. M.
A really lovely old pub with friendly staff and a good range of drinks. I'd be tempted to give them a try for food next time.
L. A. A.
A very nice cozy environment. Pet friendly as well.
Tasty food
V. I.
Staff were very attentive and nice. We were there with a little toddler and they were very accommodating. It's a cosy, unpretentious place.
T. J.
Excellent lunch, classic fish n chips, served piping hot. Very tasty and just what I expected as an expat returning to London for a much needed pub lunch.
Soup to start was also very good.
Served with a smile and total helpfulness.
Would highly recommend this pub.
I sat outside and had a peaceful lunch.
J. C.
If you are in Greenwich over the festive period, be sure to stop by the Kings Arms and ask for Yoshi.
Service with a smile and great reccomendations!
Fun and frolics had by all.
(Written before the Jameson took me like it took Hemingway).
D. T.
A quaint little pub down a side street in Greenwich, close to the park. Fairly quiet following the emergence from lockdown. Staff very helpful and polite. A good pint of beer, everyone is happy.
M. T.
Nice food and beer with alfresco dining. Generous serving of cheese in toast at less than £7. Fish & chips is good as well
C. G.
Nice pub with a lovely garden at the back. Staff are very friendly, definitely one of the better pubs in Greenwich. Worth a visit if you're in the area
S. H.
3 sausages and mash with gravy £10.75 was a good meal and filling. Good, friendly staff. Stereo was too loud for us and choice of pop music dire. From Madonna to Spice Girls 🙄
T. W.
Grabbed a quick bite after a visiting the Royal Observatory. Had the wings with both the delicious buttery hot sauce and sweet Korean sauce. Neither were hot which made it easy to enjoy. Washed everything down with an IPA. Great service here and lots of indoor and outdoor seating.
M. M.
A nice warm welcome. Shame no Sav Blanc, but the alternative was ok. Comfortable relaxing atmosphere. Pleasant to chill after a walk in the park.
H. K.
Had Sunday roast there today together with husband and family. The meal was lovely and the apple crumble the best I've had in a very long time. Nice selection of beer and cider. The staff very friendly and attentive.
M. D.
We booked for 12 outdoors and were very well cared for, via the app. Once our group dwindled to 6; we moved indoors and continued to enjoy our evening. The food was excellent, the cask ale is very well kept, and the wine was free flowing. Ryan was a standout member of staff! Hats off to him!!
C. I.
The food is good, but the service could better. We waited for more then 1 hour and the pub wasn't so busy. I suggest the scotch eggs.
J. W.
So lovely to see this open again. The staff are as friendly and helpful as ever. However please can someone sort out some working garden heaters?! It was absolutely freezing last night and no one could make the garden heaters work, which meant my drink there was quite an unpleasant experience unfortunately.
If the heaters worked this would be my favourite pub in Greenwich again.
R. D.
Excellent food, reasonably priced and the bored games were an added bonus! Would def recommend!
A. S.
Nice and clean, toilets immaculate !!! friendly staff good service
M.
Nice staff and food with a beer garden. Great place for a drink and eat.
S. O.
One of my favourite pubs in Greenwich. Great beer selection, ale on taps and local beers. Good range of spirits. Friendly staff and the food isn't bad either. Has a lovely big beer garden that's always busy. Taking social distancing very sensibly too. Kudos.
M. P.
We went to Kings Arms wanting to eat something, but they said we couldn't have any food because it was too late (which it wasn't, but it's okay). We had some drinks and they didn't even bring them to the table, we had to go and order to the bar and take them to our table, even though the pub was empty, which shows the level of customer service... They also have a terrace.
J. W.
Loved it. Super cute. Great food and location.
M. P.
Very nice pub makes you feel welcome from when you enter the pub
J. F.
Nice pub, good atmosphere, staff adheres to all the new government restrictions. We went for early dinner at about 6pm and place was almost empty, got full quite quickly though given that it was Friday night. I would definitely recommend their pies! Really tasty, served with plenty of veg and chips! But steer away from their Fish and Chips (single portion), it was incredibly disappointing. Portion was very small, few peas and even fewer chips, fish very small... not worth money. Despite that i will definitely visit again to order one of the pies!
B. C.
Not bad, but last time I was there they didn't have full selection of beers, and they want you to use their app when ordering, what's wrong with normal table service?
s. y.
Very nice place with perfect location and tasty food.
P. M.
Good drinks selection, seems lack atmosphere though. When we went it was too brightly lit and seemed a bit messy.
I. H.
I have lived in Greenwich for 30 years now and the another day me and my mate when in for lunch, it was a great pub to eat and have a drink. The staff was great 100% customer service. Will be going back soon. 😁👍👍👍
B. P.
Cosy pub, lovely staff.
A. M.
What a lovely pub! Staff are amazing and super friendly. We have a 1 year old and always feel a little concious about eating out, this was not the case at Kings arms! Staff were so welcoming and even had time for our little one, making us feel so at ease.
l. g.
Fabulous pub and amazing staff, lovely drinks and amazing food !
Amalia and Yoshie And Manager Lady are great benefit and amazing stars of this pub
V. G.
Good food and service in weekend very busy
D. B.
Staff friendly, fantastic outside space. Drinks reasonably priced. Toilets a little unpleasant, but otherwise would definitely visit again
J. P.
Absolutely lovely pub close to Greenwich park. Perfect place to stop in for a warming meal during a cold rainy day.
C. D.
Very nice good surroundings not to noisy.
C. C.
Lovely pub, great food and staff
S. K.
Excellent service, burger a lil cold but otherwise delicious. Check out the beer garden in the back - nice n cozy.
S. D.
Good food and wine. Fairly priced
R.
Awesome food, beers and gin! Nice staff and definitely worth a visit.
j. y.
Wonderful staff that were very busy during the rush on a Sunday afternoon. They were helpful, friendly, chatty and very polite. The Sunday roast was very nice with extra gravy at no charge. Good selection of beers with beavertown and Camden on tap along with green kings usual range. The pub it’s self has a lovely cozy feel which was perfect on a chilly day and I will be back there again when I’m around Greenwich in the future.
S.
A trip down memory lane for me on New years Eve. Changed so much and for the better. Spacious open plan, lovely atmospher right near the Cutty Sark n Greenwich Park
D. C.
Nice friendly pub pity they don't have Northern prices
S. W.
Great pub, very friendly staff
D. M.
Excellent pub, friendly staff and a first class selection of beers. We attended a birthday party so were not dining as such, although the buffet was very good. Notice they have a lot of healthy options on their menu. Very pleasant experience.
T. L.
Visted yesterday evening for the first time, with my good lady. A very pleasant pub with a lovely friendly atmosphere. Bar staff were welcoming and helpful. A huge selection of specialist gins which made making a decision very complicated in a fun way. Didnt eat there but kinda wished we had as the food we saw being served looked very nice indeed and the comments from diners were very favourable. Will certainly revisit next time we are in Greenwich.
N. W.
What a wonderful pub. Feels like a local, but so friendly and welcoming. The food was amazing, such a fun menu. The staff couldn't be nicer. Had a lovely evening here, live just round the corner so will definitely be regulars now.
M. W.
Good beer, pleasant staff good menu.
F. A.
Great little hidden gem, staff very friendly food was delicious and didn't have to wait too long.
D. S.
Lovely place, the guy who served us was really up beat and pleasant.
F. P.
Cosy, warm and typical London pub with attentive staff and a positive attitude towards their clients. As a regular visitor, this is one of my locals, where the beer is good and the atmosphere quiet but pleasant. The good is excellent, so it's recommended for a decent bit of pub grub.
H. H.
Always love visiting here, the staff are usually rather humorous and happy to help! BOGOF on prosecco between 5-7 also helps (I think just weeknights, but not sure). Love the garden, the food is always fresh and hearty portions.
D. I.
Traditional quite cosy pub just off Oxford Street.
A nice place to relax over a beer or 2. During the week day times this place isn't too busy but t weekends it is. There is also a nice seating area upstairs which is even more relaxing if you can find an available seat.
The staff are very friendly here. Always greet you with a smile.
A. G.
Love the family atmosphere and feel of the place. Great food and they serve my favourite drinks which are sometimes restricted in other wine bars/pubs.
M. A.
Good selection of beers. Standard food expected at Greene King. Everything as expected. No complaints.
J. L.
We had a great meal. There was a great choice of dishes on the menu. The food was beautifully present, nice and hot and absolutely delicious! The staff were very friendly and helpful too. Highly recommended.
N. H.
Beers are OK. Haven't eaten so can't comment on the food. Fish and chips looks nice though.
Staff are a bit rubbish, can't handle a slight queue at the bar without losing it.
Not a bad spot though, good beer garden out the back.
D. H.
Lovely pub in a great location with pleasant staff and quirky deck chairs in the garden. Had a very nice Sunday dinner. We had our dog with us and there was no problem taking her into the pub. Would highly recommend.
S. W.
A really pleasant local pub. Good selection of rotating casks and a solid food offer though unfortunately identical through their pub group. There is a lighter ambience than some bars and a fantastic beer garden for the summer. Management and staff are also very attentive and friendly.
S. x.
Brilliant fish and chips! The staff was very friendly and guided me into choosing a very good beer. The place is cozy and it has a really nice backyard. Definetly a must try when you get around.
J. T.
This is a really nice pub just near the entrance to Greenwich Park. Good selection of food and beers.
Altough, like all the pubs in Greenwich ridiculously overpriced. Nice garden with extremely good quality garden furniture. The staff are very efficient and professional. Well worth a visit. Can't give an opinion on the food as I didn't eat but what I saw of other people's meals they looked great.
K. H.
Pretty standard pub. Pretty good list of beer, has a bunch of options depending on what you're drinking. Great back patio though! Can't wait for warmth to use it more. Roast is reasonably priced and good enough.
f. m.
Great typical English pub, good value pub food and atmosphere
A. F.
Nice ambience and good pints
J. F.
Most of the staff were very helpful and willing to help provide anything required , however at the end of the night a bar man seemed quite abrupt and seemed more interested to get rid of us. Overall it was a good evening, food was good and the staff were attentive. Shame that many people who came will remember the negative attitude of a single person.
a. “. w.
Friendly staff, great garden, nice English pub vibe
B. S.
We loved it got table service from the lovely bar staff Penny she was so welcoming. The drinks were reasonably priced and they also had a singer in the evening who was fantastic. Was really good atmosphere. Brilliant night
L. x.
Had a cracking meal here. The food was great but it was Callum the acting manager who made it extra special. He went above and beyond on what was a really stressful day with them being a member of staff down. His customer care skills are a credit to Greene King and we'll be coming here again and again. If all Greene King pubs are as good as then they'll be my go to chain from now on. Being local, I can't think of a better pub in the area.
M. M.
Nice Pub in Central Greenwich. Great Beer Garden, good selection of beers. This pub is usually a little quieter than the others. Getting a seat should not be a problem
T. M.
This is a nice little town pub. Where I am slowly becoming a local. Myself and my colleagues frequent the establishment at least twice a week. The staff know there stuff from there ales right down to the food. They're also understanding when it comes to confrontation with other patrons which has only ever happened once in the last 6 months I've been going.
H. W.
This is the pub you want to visit when looking for a place to relax and refresh. The net garden is a little paradise and was perfect for a lunch break with our three children. Service is very welcoming and forthcoming. Thank you very much!
P. B.
It was ok, popped in for a quick drink on a very hot day with my family. Service was a bit slow, although they were very busy, so a little understandable. Served our cold drinks in very warm glasses....not good. Family Friendly.
Z. R.
Great food and decently priced drinks. It’s a bit complicated to ‘check in’ to the pub, it’s more than just scanning a QR code, but after I managed that it was great.
J. G.
Popped in for a bite to eat before a gig at the O2..was not let down , food was excellent. Vast array of ales on tap plus a varied and different menu from the norm you usually find in pubs. We chose the pub, as the bus stop was across the road, which took you to the O2.
R. M.
Loved the wet fries, "Filth bag" came for them 2 days in a row!
M. E.
Nice Pub in back side of Central Greenwich. Great Beer Garden, good selection of beers. Loved the selection of food too. We really enjoyed our time here.
M. T.
Good selection of beers. Very friendly staff.
A. P.
Good well priced pub meal
S. H.
Lovely staff and service. Food is nice too
M. R.
We celebrated my husbands birthday today at this pub, it was our first time in there and we were blow away by the delicious food and lovely staff they were very attentive, they accommodated all 15 of us, the burned end burger was delicious and the Mac and cheese tasted home made! Will go back there again!
T. T.
Decent pub located just outside of Greenwich park. Only came for drinks so can't comment on food. Atmosphere and service was fine, though nothing that stood out though hence 3 stars.
M. V.
Very good food, but if you're sitting next to the garden exit when it's cold, it's full of inconsiderate drunks who never close the door. Also staff does not care about that as well. But other than that, would definitely recommend :)
E. V. S.
The food was spectacular! We choose fish and chips and sweet potato with avocado.
The waitress could have been nicer, we are not English speakers but we do our best!
D. E.
Nice pub. Lots of seating and can be busy especially when sports matches are on. Served quickly and good value. Would have had food but arrived after they had stopped serving.
A. H.
Jist popped in as we were walking past. Great selection of beers. Good atmosphere and great service. Decided to have a bite to eat and glad we did, one of the best sausage and mssh i have ever had. Would deffinaltly recommend this pub
T. M. G.
Great pub. Good selection of beers and wine. Decent beer garden and close to Greenwich town centre.
M. M.
Great pub in Greenwich, lovely atmosphere and design. Most importantly staff are friendly to tourists who mistakenly order a Pimms "fizz" instead of "spritz" and feel ashamed for doing so! 😉
T. O.
Had a lovely meal in here today . Was extremely busy and said 45 minutes wait for food but was out after 25minutes and was lovely .can highly recommend the scampi with tartare sauce which was really nice as well as their triple chocolate brownie which was extremely delicious .
E. L.
Love the food there and Non Alcohol 🍸 drink taste delicious.
R. B.
Wonderful pub with great garden space out the back, we had drinks only but loved the place
A. J.
I don't drink and just wanted tea with a friend as all the coffee place closed. It was great experience just enjoying tea 11pm! Nice people. Nice atmosphere. Cosy. Served nicely too!
L. J.
The Kings Arms is on the old Victorian-looking Roupell St, (famed for its use in Doctor Who and many period films), and is a small traditional looking pub. One of its greatest features is its inconspicuous look, as in the back they have a huge conservatory filled with large wooden tables where you can order Thai food, or snuggle up around the fireplace.
B.
Can be a really good atmosphere if you catch it at the right time. Beer selection and food both a bit average. Service friendly enough but inexperienced.
Z. M.
I didn't eat here so I'm not rating the food. Nice pub. The two drinks I did have here were bad. Coffee is disgusting and the coke served from a mixer gun wasn't great. Staff were nice.
A. D.
Decent meal, friendly pub
p. H.
Exalant service lovely food and staff would recamend to everyone
D. L.
I was visiting from Australia in December 2019, had a great meal. The staff and locals were very friendly. I would definitely go back
W. d. B.
Visited this place with my family during our visit in London. Had some good beers. Fish and chips were great. Beer garden in the back was very nice to sit.
L. H.
Lovely little pub, feels like a local in the heart of a tourist area, which is nice! Bar staff friendly and accommodating, would recommend!
T. H.
Right on the doorstep to Greenwich Park. An unassuming spot for a leisurely Sunday roast. Good food albeit slightly on the pricier side (or lots pricier compared to the Wetherspoons down the street). Yorkshire pudding was bestest and friendly staff to boot.
A. A.
Friendly staff. Nice pint but half the taps were "off" and £4.10 a pint Oct 2015
Burger £11 and dry. Don't bother.
g. g.
Lovely place to have a good and drink .I was there for the first time with my friends at work. Lovely place nice people smile on there face all day .Bless all the staff.
M.
They've got a really nice summer garden and the food is very good indeed. They serve lunch from noon to 5pm. By all means a recommendable place to go.
I. F.
Always seem to end up here when it is raining which is a shame as it has a outside garden at the back. Watch for happy hour good value and whilst I have not had a lot of the menu what I have had has been tasty.
S. C.
Good place to hang and have a chit chat over some pub food and drinks, outside of peak times. Very busy when it's sunny weather so service may lag a bit.
S. K.
Great Pies. Reasonably priced. Comfortable, great spot to stop at after the trek up to the observatory in case you are visiting from out of town.
J. P.
Popular with tourists as well as locals, this a reasonably priced pub in a pleasant setting. Decent beer garden and a beef pie worth checking out.
P. T.
The staff are friendly and the food is great, so much so that if you are after an extra Yorkshire pud with your sunday lunch without prebooking it, you may well be out of luck!
M. B.
Nice food, nice garden.
J. W.
Very early on their Christmas sale and offers! We visited today and all over the place was Christmas adverts.
The pub was alright, staff was fine, nothing extraordinary, but a fine place for a pint, a bit pricy
D. T.
This place have gotten a hippsterfication since I last was here, so it has more of a cafe/restaurant feel than a pub. The food is good here, there is a large garden and the staff is friendly.
C. S.
Stopped in for a few drinks with my son.. Beautiful , very clean place. I love the outdoor seating area..
L. B.
The best burguer and fries I've ever had.
The meat was perfectly cooked and the fries were golden and tasty, and it was quite cheap.
I recommend it with no doubt!
m. p.
Friendly staff and the food was very hot .
C. W.
Always great food, friendly and helpful staff and lovely decor and environment. Family friendly too with retro and traditional board games, great beer selection and is dog friendly!
J. R.
Love this little dog friendly place. Great atmosphere and the food is above average for the prices. Will become my local me thinks.
B. D.
Very nice staff, a nice interior and garden (too bad about the smoking outside). The food is good and decently priced. The location is excellent too.
A. H.
Lovely atmosphere and very helpful.
A. B.
Fantastic ale house. Great selection of ales, damn good food and welcoming staff. Thoroughly recommended.

Lovely typical British pub with with a rear beer garden. Thursday quiz nights are particularly fun as well.

Fantastic food, friendly staff in a pub with lively atmosphere.

Great pub! With true British atmosphere. It was really nice to find a bit of comfort and rest here just after the long climbing and getting down from Greenwich Observatory. =)
G. H.
Very friendly and welcoming staff, good atmosphere and great fresh food. Good value for money, would highly recommend visiting.
E. K.
Great food, even healthy choices (had the bulgur & quinoa salad with chicken - unusual in a gastropub) and traditional pub food too. They have a terrace - in case you're here in a nice weather
A. S.
Very nice pub, food is tasty and relatively well priced. Good choice for lunch and some drinks.
D. P.
Had several meals at the Kings Arms and food was always yummy. Plus, if you have to wait for it, why not playing one of board games available for free?
H. Y.
Good was fast and delicious. Pints weren't too expensive and the staff was very friendly. Would visit again!
T. M.
Lovely "traditional" English pub adjacent to The Cutty Sark in Greenwich; great range of "real ales" and very good and extensive menu.
R.
VERY HAPPY to see good selection of none alcohol lagers and ales, will come back as there are still not many pubs that offer so many choices of low alcohol drinks.
L. C.
Fish and chips was excellent. Really loved the thick cut chips with sprinkles of salt crystals. Great place for a pint.
A. M.
Staff is great and always friendly. It has become our favourite local for food, drinks and just to chill out.
L. S.
Lovely traditional cooked food, now our favourite place to go on a Sunday for roast in Greenwich. Service was slow but well worth the wait . Thanks

S. J.
Typical old style English pub, good beer , fun staff, great pub food offerings
A. I.
Used the fancy flake salt on the fries....part of the Green King chain so similar to other places, but the wifi is convenient for a traveler.
w. s.
Had a great time with very good food and drinks, Sophie our waitress surpassed herself with our group
V. G.
I was here only once, but the food I tasted was excellent! Try Home-made Steak & ale Pie - it's awesome!
p. l.
One of the better pubs in Greenwich - reasonable selection of ales, food is good (if a little pricey) and lovely beer garden.
J. E.
