Reviews of Milroy's of Soho

Super busy and lively! It's really like a museum of all the whiskey you can ever think of it hope to try. The decor is whiskey in glass cabinets, and you can buy entire bottles. Just ask for recommendations and give your price points.
J. M.
Really cute little bar with a secret. Great tasting whiskies and lovely cocktails. Definitely worth a visit and so close to the centre and with views to the park. Probably book ahead as it got quite busy, but we arrived as it was opening and didn't need to book ahead.
J. E.
This is a great place if you enjoy Whiskey/whisky. I used my visit to educate myself furthet around what Whiskey/whiskies were out there. The ambience was excellent. The staff were really helpful, friendly and enthusiastic and eager to pass on their expertise. I stayed in the upstairs bar but got a look at the bar downstairs, which looked like a prohibition period setting which oozed atmosphere. It's left a positive impression on me and I'll be back next time I'm in town!

What a gem of a place. The people working there is as good as the whisky they sell, and probably you can't get a better selection anywhere else. Here are three recommendations for those of you that can't quite afford the £200 dram of Port Ellen. But if you can...
W. L.
Whiskey bar with hidden speakeasy downstairs. Fantastic selection of whiskeys. Very reasonably priced considering the quality and selection on offer, especially for Soho.
Staff extremely knowledgeable and friendly.
Will be back to try the downstairs speakeasy style bar as unfortunately it was full when we stumbled upon this place.
C. K.
A great place to go back to see great friends and to tastes nice whiskeys. Wanted to update my review. The staff will help with order and suggest new whiskey to tastes. I have been a great time coming back each visit. The staff is always welcoming. When I order from the state, they will answer my email. To help!

Bit of a mixed bag this one. Have been twice, first time was 5 star, I don't drink whisky straight but they made some cracking old fashioneds for me while my friends indulged their whisky habit. Next time they refused to make me an old fashioned, it was straight whisky, or a g&t on tap. No thanks. Staff member was very snobbish about it. It's a cool bar, but I can't go if I don't know if I can get a suitable drink when I'm there. Shame.
I. E.
Big selection of whisky, but it could be better. They have some unique bottles from some distilleries but they don't have what should be considered basics for a whisky bar, i.e. No springbank, no Glen scotia, no glenallachie etc. Unique place with good unpretentious atmosphere. Will visit again.
M. S.
We loved this place. So intense, with an amazing selection of whiskey. We felt we could have completely lost ourselves there. The
ambience and vibe were terrific. And the Vault was quite an experience. Overall a great spot to stop for a dram or more.
H. G.
Amazing whisky bar on top. Just note it's only whisky, don't come asking for mixers. They must have at least 1000 bottles there.
Underneath is the cocktail bar. The secret entrance (push the bookshelf) plus the prohibition feel and live jazz band gave this place a really cool atmosphere. Really great date spot, especially given how confusing the entrance to downstairs looks at the start.
I sat at the bar and tried a couple of their amazing cocktails; they have a signature menu but they make whatever you want and it do it well.
I went on a Monday and it was about 75% capacity downstairs. I'd recommend trying to get a booking on any popular night.
T. L.
Katie and Mattia were amazing, such great and knowledgeable staff! We had a Women's Whisky Tasting and it was amazing. Great decor, great Whisky, great team. Love it!

One of the oldest whisky bars in london and well worth a visit. Knowledgeable staff and some real hidden gems on the shelves. Awesome that you can even buy some bottles for takeaway.
P. A.
What a special find. Whisky selection right down to the attentive care the staff go to in order to help you find what you like. I am pregnant therefore could not drink, but in the cocktail bar, they were so kind and came out with lovely mocktail options for me whilst my partner tried the real stuff. I'll be back for the booze when I can, trust me. Especially with the little element if mystery the place has.
J. C.
These guys know their whiskey! The bar upstairs is small but perfectly formed. I went with whiskey geeks and someone who wasn't a fan. Everyone had a great time as the staff recommended some great stuff at every price range
Bar downstairs is tiny! Book ahead as many were turned away. It's behind a hidden bookshelf which is fun. Worth a visit.
J. H.
Amazing experience. Raz the bartender was very entertaining and offered great tailorised selection of whiskey based on our preferences. Great fun. Hope to come back
K. M.
Fantastic selection of whisky and knowledgeable bar staff who will ask you what you like and help you pick something delicious you've not tried before. No issues with condescending dudes, just friendly and interesting discussion (if wanted). There's a list of tasting events coming up on a board that sound pretty interesting too.
There is a cocktail bar and loos accessible through a hidden bookcase door and down stairs.
I'm definitely going to be going back, but probably on a payday as it's easy to rack up an expensive tab if you're not careful!
r. m.
Absolutely fantastic bar, so many whiskeys! Kate was superb and recommended great drinks. Clever secret too
F. R.
Amazing selection here, helpful staff.
R. C.
Wow, wow, wow, what else can I say about this amazing bar! An extensive Whiskey collection like I've never seen before. Some rare and some old and even a bottle shop on site for lovers alike. I attanded the Craigellachie 51 year and the greeting was second to none. Great hosts, great bar and I will return soon to sample more.
v. b.
Top notch Whiskey with a very knowledgeable and patient staff. There were 4 of us, 1 of our friends knows nothing about Whiskey and the guy behind the bay walked him through a few options to find him the best fit.
I would highly recommend going in for a dram and checking out the speakeasy behind the book case. We didn't stay for the cocktails but it was fun to have a peak.
E.
reserved a table for 3. running late but most problems being seated. went through the secret route (no spoilers so find it yourself. not that it's secret!) to the vault. as ever impeccable service. and cocktails mixed by magicians. wonderfully strong and flavourful concoctions. no pre mix to be seen!!!
highly recommended. wonderful place to start an evening out.
D. M.
Dangerously decadent little establishment for whisky lovers. Great for sharing a special dram with friends or trying one out before committing to a bottle. Lovely casual and friendly atmosphere.
Extremely knowledgeable and friendly staff (and local customers too!) to help you find your tastes and preferences, and find the perfect dram for your mood.
M. C.
These guys are great, they know all there is to know about whisky. Take the time to tell you in really detail about your drink and are so passionate it makes you want to be a professional whisky taster!!! Their collection is the best in London....why would you go anywhere else.
B. B.
Great spot and great selection. Staff at bar is hugely knowledgeable and helpful. Team is able to ask a guest about taste and find a suitable whiskey selection for all tastes. Selection of bottles for sale is impressive. Worth a special trip.
J. T.
Amazing selection of scotch whisky with super knowledgeable bar tenders. The speakeasy inspired basement bar is great as well
•. P. •.
Ideal for: THE whisky enthusiast
It took me so long to get to this bar, mosty because the heathen company I keep don't love whisky. A good friend and I stumbled in here on a Friday evening and it honestly was a fantastic experience. There was nowhere to sit but we were cushioned by the friendly atmosphere of whisky love! The selection is intimidatingly huge, but the staff delivered a unique dram to match my taste preferences. I had a great time, and I will be back regularly!
T. W.
Magnificent selection of whiskies. Friendly staff. Mischievous patrons. Late opening license. It is a staunch Soho staple.
A. K.
Great to see old and new friends. And enjoy the time spent drinking. A charming little shop ,that specializes in whiskey. And ambiance. Can always get a warm welcome, find out what tasting will be available for the month. And will be able to go down to the vault for cocktails.
R. H.
Visited whilst on duty to attend a patient.
But nice and friendly staff, great atmosphere, and wide selection of drinks.
Will try and visit on my days off.
C. D.
Excellent as always... Knowledgeable staff, fantastic selection of whisky, just a great place to hang out.
I. K.
A great place where you can not only buy whisky but have a dram from lots of open bottles.
A. M.
Alway a good place to enjoy a whisky, really knowledgeable team that works behind the bar
M. “. O. K.
Wonderfully historic whisky institution that is teeming with both whiskies and knowledge.
The shop now has the bar again, after many years without. Go after 6pm and ask to go through the bookcase. That'll take you to the 55 seat basement bar, the Vault.
C. F.
we visited this week to their downstairs bar for a tasting evening hosted by the very knowledgeable owner. I think what I liked most is he was biased at all and pushing a perticular brand just genuine enthusiasm for Whisky , I shall return!
F. D.
Cozy bar. Actually had one of the best old fashioned here. Very good and tasty. Would really recommend a visit.
D. L.
I can't recommend this place enough. Every whiskey your heart could desire, including a slew of Scotches you can't get in the states.
C. E.
If you're a whisky fan this place is well worth a visit. Upstairs host a huge array of whiskeys from around the world, most of which you can buy by the glass, and access to a hidden cocktail bar downstairs.
A. O.
Had a absolutely amazing night here! We didn't make it down in to the bookcase bar but it didn't matter when the staff were so lovely! Rez, the guy who was probably an extra in Vikings and the manager in the awesome shirt all looked after us with good suggestions and fun banter! We will definetly come again to try more whiskeys and more Placebo! (Evening of the 24th of July) Thanks everyone!
j. s.
Staff was very friendly and knowledgeable with their whiskies, helping us pick out of such a vast and unique collection. They even taught us how to properly enjoy a decanter of whiskey and I will be sure to return, not only for the whiskies but the cocktail bar downstairs. :)
J. R.
Amazing ... probably one of the best whiskey bars I've visited. Highly intimate, full of character and staff that know their sh**. Will def. be back!!
T. H.
Lovely bar. Serves cocktails (mainly whiskey based), wine, whiskey and beer. Quiet, but with real character. Is hidden at the back of Milroy's, just give the bookshelf a push.
M. D.
A must visit for any whisk(e)y lover! Cosy with a great selection of whisky. My only criticism is that the staff are not very helpful when someone visits who isn't a typical whisky fan. They don't make attempts to explain each one or make a recommendation. I absolutely love this place though.
M. R.
Always nice to be back here. Good service, knowledgeable and friendly staff. Nice choice of whisky.
O. N.
If you want to get into whisky or try expensive at a "relatively" reasonable price, this the place to go. The staff are very friendly and helpful. No pretensions in this place :)
G. H.
Very good selection of whiskeys, knowledgeable bartender that is very helpful with tasting suggestions
C. L.
Hundreds of whisky types to choose from in a great atmosphere and knowledgeable staff
m.
A smogasbord of whiskeys to suit all palates and desires. Whiskey paradise. From the amateur to the connoisseur. And staff that will recommend great flavours.
C. K.
An amazing selection of whiskeys and great, knowledgeable service to match. If you fancy a wee dram go here
R. H.
Fantastic whisky bar with an intimate and cosy atmosphere - The bar staff are superb and definitely know their stuff!
A. M.
If you're starting to get into whiskys or are and expert these guys will sort you out and will give you more of a reason to appreciate whisky. Ask for Ed. We will sort you out.
H. J.
A M A Z I N G! Katie was so helpful with organising the tasting for my brothers birthday and Jason took the tasting. His knowledge and expertise was incredible! I'm not a massive whiskey fan but loved the experience. Cannot recommend the place enough, will defo be coming back! :)
P. H.
Impressive! Wide range of whisk(e)ys, professional staffs.
M. L.
Very nice place but if you don't like whiskey the choice is limited and it's not cheap.
J. d. P.
Had whisky tasting. Very informative and great sommelier not to mention the excellent whiskies
M. M.
The hidden gem of Soho. If you want to enjoy the most magnificent whisky from the whole world, you have to go there. The staff is amazing, they will take time to hear what you like and will find you the precious golden beverage for your taste. Be prepared to be amazed by the choice. Plus you need to visit the bar downstairs just for sake to open the hidden door.
Also, great place to buy rare alcohol too!
The only problem might be the size of this place, be prepared for a busy crowd.
S. L.
If you like malt wiskey/whiskey then this is heaven. A huge range of malts at the bar and an astonishing array of bottles to buy with an equally astonishing array of prices. Friendly, very knowledgable staff and private tasting sessions available too. Some other drinks available but oh.......the glorious whiskey. Every country that have ever made whisky is represented. A really wonderful place.
P. T.
Great selection of liquor ( mainly whiskey) from around the globe
L. M.
Cool little bar with great selection of whisky to taste. It’s small though so be prepared to squish!
A. R.
This place is stunning. A selection of around 300 whiskys behind the bar at any one time on constant rotation. The staff all REALLY know their stuff and will take you on a journey of you let them know what you like or want to try and they are respectful of budget. Been 5-6 times now and its always been a blast and its always been different.
The upstairs bar and shop is good but the "hidden"cellar is a must for groups or an evening with a great atmosphere and mood. Just go, its brilliant!
L. P.
Friendly staff and a huge selection of whiskey upstairs. Downstairs is a very cool too
K. K.
Lovely, lovely bar. Walked in an hour to closing and were immediately seated at the tiny bar on the main level. The staff were extremely friendly and knowledgeable. They were able to recommend new scotches we enjoyed based on previous drinks. They didn't make us leave after the place closed, and even offered a sample of a new whiskey they just had in. Prices were very fair. Highly recommended.
B. F.
Friendly and knowledgeable staff, great selection
C. M.
we came here for a special treat... it's quirky, cool, and the cocktails are incredible! Try the 'hot & cold' from the top shelf whisky menu for a real treat. brilliant little bar with a genuine speakeasy feel- made all the better by the fact that it's not advertised... saying that it was still plenty busy! Great staff and atmosphere make this a real find and not to be missed.
L. O.
Decent selection of whisky, great knowledgeable staff. If selection is what you want, you have come to the right place. Even the clientele seem more than excited to share several words about whisky.
Where Milroy's falls down, even more than other places in London is the price. I personally look for a whisky bar that I can be a regular at, and unfortunately, this is not a place I could afford to frequent.
A. S.
Amazing place. Huge selection of whiskies from all over the world in all price ranges, the dozens of independent bottlings being particularly interesting. The bar even has its own bottlings. The staff are just incredible, super friendly and knowledgeable and ready to look after you. A mandatory visit if you like whisky.
J. P.
Great for sampling and knowledgeable staff, 1776 discovered and bought, just need to try the secret bar now
P. B.
Great selection of Whiskeys and friendly staff.
F. F.
If you want to have a whisky in an alternative bar with experts in the subject, this is the place. Everything was fantastic and the staff was incredibly nice and knowledgeable. Will come back every time I can. Can buy whiskey by the glass or bottle. Loved it here.
P. A.
Fantastic place and staff. They have absolutely everything from a regular Laphroaig Quarter Cask to complete exclusives like a Glenfarclas 24 bottled just for them. Friendly, knowledgeable, homely. Completely recommend.
K. E.
We did a private tasting and had an absolute blast. They personalise the experience and you get your own whisky tasting room away from the bustling bar. Katie really knows her whiskys and she teaches you a lot during the experience. She tailors the whiskys to you and makes it fun. The vault room downstairs is beautiful as well. Highly recommend this place.
A. Z.
Lovely bar. Very traditional whiskey bar that offers over 200 types of whiskey but do not remember the exact number 😅. Great staff with hell a lot of knowledge on whiskey. This is a must Visit if u are a whiskey lover. There are 2 bars, 1 on the ground floor as a old fashion high table and always have lovely people behind the bar. 1 on the LG and there is a book shelves like Cellar door that can be pushed open and by taking stariscase it will lead you to a cocktail bar in the LG. There is a completely vibe down there with lovely staff too.
D. P.
Best whisky bar in London, I make a point to visit go every time I am in the UK. Staff knows their stuff, the atmosphere is great and the selection is awesome. Always find something new that I haven't had the opportunity to try.
K. L.
I've never seen this amount of whisky bottles before! Prices are reasonable too.
F. H.
Great service, we really enjoyed the whiskys & burbons that were recommended to us.
E. m.
Whether you like whisky or purchasing for someone else this place has it or staff are on hand to help you and provide opinion and expertise.
The interior is stunning, a bit like Belle's library but with whisky. So many different varieties beautifully laid out.
A. B.
Dog friendly whiskey bar with a great selection of drinks
M. S.
I've only been to the bar upstairs but hear the downstairs bar is as good. They have a really good, I mean AMAZING, selection of whiskey from all over the world and the knowledge staff can guide you through them to help you find something you'll love. (They also have beer, gin, rum and other spirits)
The prices are high but if you can pay, you wont find somewhere better in London for Whiskey.
A. K.
Superb choice of whisky and a lovely little speakeasy style bar in the basement. Well worth a visit
T. K. H.
A charming, pleasant and cozy little place that specialises in whiskey. Just whiskey. Whiskey. Whiskey. Whiskey. The downside is the lack of space, because it is quite small, but this tight room with its cozy attitude also leads to interacting with other guests and the staff itself. They're helpful and friendly, and will help you open up a tab if you'd like to sample a few different flavours.
We also had good luck with the other people there, but like that's something where YMMV.
I'd recommend asking for a recommendation if you'd like to bring back a special bottle of whiskey with you home. They've got whiskeys both with a kick and a punch and some proper teeth.
S. K.
Great whiskey collection! Staff were super Helpful!
M. A.
The staff are extremely helpful, nothing is too much trouble. I come here every year, just before Christmas, for a different bottle of rum for my boss at work, and so far they have never duplicated the bottle of rum that I bought. Their knowledge of where everything is on the stacked shelves is amazing.
J. D.
This small whiskey bar has one of the best selections in London. The staff is very knowledgeable and they have tastings events very frequently. Looking for he bathroom is almost like a scavenger hunt.
Z. H.
This place is fantastic. The staff were extremely friendly and knowledgeable, the whiskey selection is superb and the cocktails were stellar. The only thing holding me back from five stars is that the bar downstairs is a little pokey and thus the lack of air conditioning is accentuated; even more so as we are just starting to get into summer. Still not one to miss out on.
c. b.
Bartender was friendly and accommodating. Made a mean cocktail.
T. S.
This is a lovely bar full of whiskeys of many kinds! There is such a wealth of selection some of the whiskeys maybe expensive but the quality if the bourbons for example on offer is so vast which i havent seen in many other places before! Like i said on the expensive side for a single measure on some of them however you won't be disappointed if your a lover of whiskeys especially bourbons like me!
P. H.
What a great atmosphere and selection of whisky! Frankie and the other team members did a great job of recommending varieties and expanding my palette a little bit. Definitely going to make this my evening stop after the office!
J. M.
LOVE this place. Great date venue. Secret cocktail bar downstairs all based on whisky. Drinks are great and normal prices for the area. Decor is mood lit but as its underground no windows so one for autumn /winter rather than Summer
A. G.
Such a cool spot. Walking in, the place does seem small, but keep walking and look for an incognito bookshelf, and open it. There's a whole new world downstairs!
The staff are extremely knowledgeable about their whiskey and they all have a unique look to them.
All-in-all, you'll have a good time there. It's also pretty laid back.
M. A.

Don’t come here if you don’t like whisky. Seriously. The staff was helpful and tried to get me some kind of cocktail that I could drink without triggering instant gag reflex while the other three people in my company had a great time here, but for someone with issue drinking spirits it’s not a good place. Probably they could keep a few bottles of beer for these Muggles like me.
w. k.
Great whisky bar, big selection and staff who know their drinks. Lots of food places nearby if you need a break from all the whisky, not for too long though 😆
A. V.
Ahhh what fun! Head to Milroy's for a quick introduction to all things whisky, or perhaps you are a seasoned purveyor of this delicious tipple and want to drop £20k on an elusive Japanese vintage. Either way there will be something here for you. Closing times can be a little early but you're in Soho so it's fine. There's a cocktail bar downstairs - through the book case - which is a nice touch. Check out their website for upcoming tasting events.
C. S.
My new favourite place in London. The staff( Eddie, Paddy and Simon) will make you feel like home and the atmosphere is great.
Not only you can have a drum at the bar, but you can also buy a bottle for a very reasonable price. A must-go to all the whisky aficionados!
O. B.
Milroy's is great - the selection is fantastic, the prices are reasonable but most of all the staff are extremely friendly and welcoming. They have a huge breadth of knowledge and are clearly passionate about their range.
I'd highly recommend the bar to anyone with an interest in whisk(e)ies and want to try something new, or who doesn't know where to begin and could use some advice on where to start. 6/5 stars from me!
O. P.
Very cosy whisky bar in soho square, with knowledgeable staff who are happy to recommend quality whiskeys, at a reasonable price. The last room has got a secret passageway that leads to an even more cosy speakeasy in the basement that serves cocktails as well as whisky. Only problem: lack of seating space! It does at least mean that it's quite quiet but you might have to stand a bit before getting so sit down (good time to have a whisky upstairs!). Place does accept reservations though!
J. K.
If you love whiskey, give this place a try. If you're not in a rush, the bar upstairs serves hand crafted drinks and cocktails, there is also a full bar downstairs. Amazing selection of whiskey to buy and take away also.
R. L.
Had a really good evening here, really good atmosphere and very knowledgeable staff. The Whisky selection rotates depending on what's in the shop above. I've now left London and have to go and see if my local equivalent in Berlin is as good.
While we were there we had, Linkwood 12 year old, David Nicholson 1843 reserve (bourbon), Nikka from the barrel (Japanese) and Strathclyde 11yr Douglas Liang bottling.
S. R.
A mandatory stop whenever I am in London. Excellent selection of fine scotches especially of single cask bottles. The staff is always a great help. They never fail to recommend something that I've never had before and may even have an open bottle or few in the back for tastings.
N. O.
Amazing selection of scotch whisky with super knowledgeable bar tenders. The speakeasy inspired basement bar is great as well👌🥃
E. M.
The best place to get hooked to whiskey. Most of the people who are visiting regularly can tell you amazing things about whisky making. Definitely a must - visit!
B. B.
Great bar, selection and a friendly team with encyclopaedic whisky knowledge. Happy to take time explaining their collection and not hurrying you, even when packed. Pretty unique, even in Central London...
R. G.
Wow. Please don't visit this place. If it gets too busy I won't be able to get a seat at the bar.
This beautiful establishment has a cocktail bar downstairs and a whisky /whiskey bar upstairs. The selection is huge and varied, and the barmen know their drams.
Why isn't it a five star review?
Since the whisky bar focusses on excellent independent distilleries, you'll struggle to find good but mainstream brands, such as Macallan, Glenmorangie and Dalwhinnie.
E. B.
Awesome selection of whiskey. Very knowledgeable staff. Cosy with a great vibe. Always pass by here for a nightcap if we’re in the area!
M. W.
Great place with very knowledgeable staff who are always happy to help. Best place to go and have a chat about anything whisk(e)y and have a dram from their extensive bar selection. Shame I don't live in London as I'd visit this place more often!
R. W.
Enjoyed a Bruichladdich whisky tasting here earlier this week. Fantastic value way to learn about my favourite Isla distillery. Great little whisky store with a bar upstairs and in the basement.
S. M.
They are really good at showing you new whiskies to try that match your desired flavour pallette. You can have your favourites, but there are so many others to try.
A. P.
This place has some very nice Malt Whisky's at some very nice prices. Katie behind the bar looked after me for the evening, very knowledgeable and passionate about her interest in Whisky and well worth a visit to see the numerous Malt Whisky's on display...
B. E.
The best place for whisky I have ever been. The staff are wonderful with great knowledge and expertise. Can't wait to go again.
a. d. c.
This place is awesome. Been there with my boyfriend and we had few drinks. What amazed me is that, Milroy's has thissecret entrance that leads you to the lower floor bar. And, the staff is super friendly. I will go again.
R. G.
Upstairs is AWESOME downstairs is meh.
We had a table booked in the vault downstairs. It's kind of awesome, it's through a bookcase (a bit cliché but I love that kind of thing) and in a higgledy-piggledy kind of room. That's all cool. The cocktails we got were really good, but it wasn't as whiskeyish as I would have liked. There were a few cocktails they didn't have the whiskey for (which surprises me as upstairs there are like 250 whiskeys...) and one of them didn't even turn up. As I said, meh.
Now the good news! Upstairs is amazing. The bar staff know their whiskey. They can recommend you good alternatives to whiskeys you know if you want to try something new and they're incredibly friendly. Happily spent an hour or so in there sampling their wares!
I would wholeheartedly recommend both of these places. Downstairs because it is kind of cool, but it is a cocktail bar, not a whiskey bar. Upstairs because it's an excellent whiskey bar! Seriously!
M. R.
Fantastic collection of whiskies and really knowledgeable staff.
B. D.
Love it! Finally found the Boutiquey Whisky I have been missing. Staff is great, met some blokes and hung out for a while. Excellent selection.
D.
A one stop shop for all your whisky. I went in looking to buy a gift for my dad with particular requirements, and was given exactly what I was looking for. Great staff, and they even let you sample before you buy!
G. B.
Fantastic place with staff who are uber knowledgeable in all thing whiskey. Come for a glass of your favourite, or you can do a tasting and figure out where your tastes lie. Top all that off with a bar in the basement and you have hidden gem waiting to be discovered.
J. K.
if you loves (or not) whiskeys then this a must, teh choise are just crazy. has every price range. highly rec it. staff are awesome and know their stuff. you wont be disapointted
P. B.
Katie ran the tasting and did an amazing job. Super knowledgeable after having worked at a distillery in Scotland and really engaging. Learned a ton and drank some amazing whiskies.
L. M.
Fantastic little place. 100s of whiskies and bourbons. Very knowledgeable & friendly staff. Secret bookcase entrance to a further basement cocktail bar. An absolute gem in the heart of Soho.
X. K.
Friendly hidden speakeasy bar in the heart of Soho...
W. T. C.
The bar is fun. I have not spent too much time in it, but still experienced their friendly environment. They are really willing to share the joy of whisky
T. C.
We booked the 'Barrel Room' downstairs which is accessed through a swinging door style hidden bookcase at the back of the shop. The evening was dulled only really by one jumpy small Scottish waitress who for reasons of her own gave our group a variety of verbal barrages throughout the evening. On finding our seats and sitting down we were scorned at and told 'you can't just come in here and sit down like you own the place!' Before going on to bark at guests for a seemingly variety of reasons.
A. S.
Simply the best whiskey and quiet cocktail place period. Ask the whiskey tender for whiskey list: "I am the whiskey list" brilliant! All the staff know their stuff so just chat, and follow their recommendations and learn :)
N.
Charming speakeasy behind a set of bookshelves. Drinks were okay, but the place is fabulous with live jazz setting the perfect mood. Recommended date place.
J. J.
Great selection of whiskies, including some wonderful Islays.
D. U.
Great selection, bartender got impressive knowledge about all their products and the prices are reasonable!! Just keep in mind if you want to go to the cocktail bar downstairs you might want to book a table.
J. S.
Great selection of drams and friendly staff on hand to help you find something you’ll like
R. C.
Such a cool spot to take visitors. I love the thought they put into all the decor, the children's book menus, and the unique and changing cocktail menus. Every drink I've had here (and I've tried many) was delicious.
S. J.
Whisky tasting course best I've been on. Book through DMN, guide made it. Highly recommended. Don't touch the dog!

R. G.

Awesome experience at Milroys, super easy to book and really fun and informative tasting. Learnt lots and had fun in the process. Katie knew her stuff and was fun and helpful. Loved it!! Present for a family friend and would 100% recommend xx
W. D.
Fantastic whiskey tasting with a truely personal experience, Katie gave a fantastic tour of whiskey from around the world with a broad variety! If I could give 10 stars out of 5 I would!
C. G.
Milroy's has been selling whisky for over 50 years - loveley old fashioned shop recently renovated. They now have a tasting counter too - with a passionate team that will give oyu all the advice you need, and a honest opinion on all brands. But push the library door and you will discover a speakeasy downstairs...
C. G.
Excellent whisky bar hidden beneath the shop, through the back. Good selection of drinks for all tastes, good service and a cosy bar to get together with friends
R. U.
Great selection of whisky's and bourbon. Staff knows alle about what they serve and are glad to assist you. Whiskyminded public. Great hangout.
R. C.
Nice bar and the secret is really cool
M. S.
Milroy's of Soho house a huge collection of Whiskys/ Whiskeys (including many rare and extremely difficult to find) and other alcohol. The staff are very knowledgeable and are always around to help.
Hint: They often have tastings in the little room downstairs.
D. P.
Specialist whisky retailer. Stocks a wide selection of premium Scotch grain and malt whiskies. Hepful and knowledgable staff. A good place to sample and learn about whisky.
F. F.
Great left field selection, but annoying that you have to ask the price for every bottle (very very few labels) & a mildly aggressive pricing policy. Avoid after 5 as you will find it working out whether its a shop or a bar... 🤔
J.
classic Irish whiskey bar. very knowledgeable bartenders. great great selection. the hidden staircase behind bookshelf is an indelible pleasantry.
C. M.
I now feel like a whiskey expert after i was lucky enough to go for a whiskey tasting evening here. Great atmosphere and helpful staff, i will be back!

G. P.
Great hidden speakeasy bar downstairs. Book in advance if you can. Cocktails are super strong but really worth it. Gets busy during weekends.
J. D.
If you are a whisky fan, Milroy's is the place to be. With an excellent selection of rare bottlings and friendly staff, the ground floor bar is the best place in Soho to have a chat and drink some great things! The basement bar is totally different, expect insane concoctions from the bartenders and imbibe in one of London's worst kept secrets!

(Translated) Excellent whiskey bar in the heart of London SoHo. The variety of labels, origins and vintages of the bottles are dizzying and could drive a lover of this liquor crazy. The bartender is a great connoisseur and taster and, if you appease your control freak side, he can recommend whiskeys that you have surely never tried before. The important thing is to tell him that you like whiskey - the brand, not the characteristics - and he will recommend similar ones. It opens from 11 am to 11 pm and it is advisable to arrive a little early because the place is small and full. For the more risky, they can go to the bottom of the premises and push the wall that has a library wallpaper: enter, go down the stairs and you will find The Vault, the cocktail bar of the premises.

(Translated) If you are interested in really good whiskey, London has several good addresses, but Milroy's of Soho is one of my personal favorites, because the selection is good and almost everything can be tasted at the bar. In addition, they are open in the evening because of the bar operation ... so Scotch fans, off in the Greek St. ... right next to the subway station Leicester Sqare.
