South EAST London at it best. 33 pounds for two beers and two mains. Super value for money. A cheese burger with bacon, stacked with gurkens unions lettuce and a gorgeous sauce burger cooked to perfection. Comes with crispy chips and home made coleslaw. It was all delicious. Fish and chips and peas with sea salt and vinger, generously sized fish with a good portion chips. Another tasty dish. The pub is vast with different seating areas. Children friendly up to about seven when it switches over to evening entertainment, best to check thier website for up to date information as it changes. Overall a solid unqiue pub with funky decor great food well priced food and drinks that puts many an over priced uptown establishment to shame.

Really loved this place. Lots of different areas to be in which is great. They even have booths with curtains, nice touch. A nice little covered beer patio which was great for the dog to be in. An absolutely awesome pub with really great staff. The pub has a selection of fantastic beers from several craft breweries. The whole place has a really creative vibe and is amazing to experience. The outside courtyard is unreal and has booths that are each individually themed.

First time in Ninth Life for a friends birthday yesterday and what an interesting place it is! A far cry from the den of iniquity the pub was back in my youth. Friendly staff, good food, HUGE space and good vibes. Wasn’t heaving for a Friday night but as catford venues go this was decent.

Really great experience here. What an epic space for a pub/restaurant... We had some good food on a quiet, rainy Monday night but this place I am sure gets very busy. Food ordering is done by app - app worked really well - quick and easy to order with. We ordered burgers which were very generous portion sizes and filling. Very efficient, friendly service. The place is Ideally spaced out if you are worried about the C word. The creative, artistic vibes of this place is what makes it here and you really must check out the different areas, especially the “Curiosities” cabinet with eye holes into mini artistic designs. We were impressed. Recommended.

Lovely place to have a drink and some food, the beer garden is huge and well designed. I been living in the area for over 5 years and never noticed the bar, I must say this the best bar in Catford. I was impressed with the food and how well sized the portions are, the drinks are average London price, could be slightly cheaper because of the zone. Members of staff are alway very Friendly, even the old guy with grumpy face is friendly. My only suggestion is to improve the Wi-Fi which horrible, it doesn’t work at all. I tried to work from there couple of time and I had to go back home, because of their signal. Apart of the Wi-fi every is truly great in this place.

I love the vibe of this pub, it's so colourful and eclectic. There's definitely an artist in charge here with some of the decorations you'll see throughout. There is a great outdoor patio area and on a sunny day, you couldn't ask for something better. I had their Sunday roast which was nice along with Pimm's. Staff were all so friendly and helpful. They had all the Covid safety measures in place as well.

Always good vibes on a Friday evening. Luckily post-pandemic, after a temporary menu with reduced options in between, they have returned to the original food selection with some of the original staff. Good food and friendly waiters. Just as it used to be.

This place is so great. Such an amazing addition to Catford & the SE! I loved it. Having lived in the area for 40 years & been past this pub before I was genuinely shocked & pleasantly sunrises at how great this place is. It’s retained so much character & is a beautiful building. It’s chilled, welcoming & really friendly. It’s a great mixture of ages too, which I love. Food menu is great. It’s got a lovely outside area too. I went on a Friday & the vibe was so good. I can’t wait to go back & make this a regular spot. Highly recommended. It’s also got a photo booth! Has regular love bands & Some nights which I’m guessing is a weekend it has Street food booths. Also regular theme nights of yogo, activities. It’s great for all ages & families

Really liked this bar. I popped along to take a look at the build quality for a project that I am working on. Really liked the look and feel. Very quirky and original in design and feel. Typically 'quirky' modern themed pub but has this strangely incongruent quality. Something that feels not quite there, which somehow makes it fit really well in Catford. The food used to be whack but they have started doing kitchen residencies now which are fantastic. Huge amount of outdoor space and decent amount of variety in their drink selections. It's a reliable local venue for us Catfordians.

Absolutely brilliant atmosphere in here! I went on a Friday night and was immediately overwhelmed (in a good way) at the colours, decor, and props everywhere. It really is spectacular! The outdoor area is equally as mesmerising, with retro stalls, garlands of lights above and more colour. The unique thing about this venue is the entertainment. There was a juggler and DJ on that night, the dance floor was full of people of all ages dancing and having a good time. The crowd is very diverse, from people in there 50s to a younger preppy crowd, but all having a great time, attitude free.

I like this place. I like the staff. I even like the patrons. Everyone is nice, friendly and chill. And while it has a very new-agey vibe compared to your standard pub, you still get neighborhood regulars as well as your happy-go-marry hipster types (I'm one of those, I'd know). But again, great atmosphere of friendliness and positivity. Aaaaaand they got a great IPA selection. Plenty of craft beers that get changed up and bourbon as well. On a last note, the food is excellent!

Always lots going on and great for kids, but the food has really gone down hill. We go a lot and have recently had 2 burnt burgers on different occasions and fish that tasted like it had gone off. It’s great that it opens at 11 on a Saturday and the breakfasts are good. That being said we have turned up numerous times between 11-12 to find it closed. We have then had to call to remind them that they should be open, whereby someone will come down about 10 mins later and let us in, sometimes after arguing about whether or not they should be open. If you advertise to be open at a certain time you need to keep to that.

Very spacious inside and outside allowing for proper social distancing, site policies are great around this with additional one way systems so you can be sure you can safely drink here

I had such a good night here on saturday. It’s such a random mix of entertainment, oddities and people but it somehow works. The staff were friendly and there was a good choice of food. I was expecting it to be a bit of a hipster place, but actually there was a wide range of people of all ages there. There was just a really fun atmosphere. I’m so happy that this place is so local to me and I can’t wait to go back next weekend!

Such a pleasant surprise. Met a friend here for a drink on a summer's day. We sat in the beer garden what wasn't packed at all, quite spacious and colourful. The staff were lovely, no problem with them at all. We then decided to grab some food, my friend had the pan seared cod chorizo and some other bits and it was absolutely beautiful!!! I had steak with chips and that was so so nice. We are definitely going to return to this beautiful place! I haven't attended any of their activities that they have on but I've seen what they do within the week (day and evening) and I must say, we are lucky to have Ninth life in catford!

Art in a pub.....makes me want to be a 20year old art student again😃👍.. ..it's full of creative upcycyling, downcycling and sideways cycling all in one go!!!! And a wall of life drawing pics hung from their classes upstairs 🤩👏👏 Apart from the stimulating art buzz of installations, wall art, bespoke interiordesign, the service is ultra Covid friendly, with track and trace and ordering done from your table by phone. Great coffee and I'm sure great food!

I first came here a couple of months ago, liked the DIY hippy-dippy atmosphere, thought the food was average, nothing to shout about... came back today and my days... the roasts were next-level. This is seriously good food. I got the chicken, which was lovely but my wife went for the pork belly and it was next level niceness! Support these guys, you will not be disappointed!

Only downsides are very slow bar service, and no gravy in the Yorkshire puds, so ask for extra gravy when you place your order if you think that's as mad as we do 😁

A really great addition to Catford. Staff are really friendly, we loved the Street food outside, lots going on inside too! Security staff were fantastic and calmly diffused an issue with respect where it would have been all to easy to react heavy handidly. Haven’t tried the pub food yet but will def be back to sample it! Only downside is that we sat outside all night and with the fire pits lit, our clothes / coats absolutely stink overwhelmingly of wood smoke!

Kooky little pub in Catford, nothing like I've seen before. From the crazy decor to the secret underground room where they try to lure you in to a secret party. Drinks are quite pricey and the food is ok. A lot of veg options which is good. They do a lot of events, like the baby club on Sunday which is really nice.

This is the best place to dance in Catford. I left when the music stopped last time I came here. Drinks are expensive for Catford, but they have a great selection. This place somehow hits the magic sweet-spot - great for families and for good food during the weekend, both during the day and evenings - but (so my wife tells me) throws a properly good party on Friday and Saturday nights. As people say, the best bit about this place is the cross section of society you have coming here, and it works so well. But I suppose that's what Catford is best for. Lots of thumbs up.

Ninth Life is the newest Catford pub, but it also does fabulous food, has a great beer selection, opens earlier than many of the local pubs, and stays open for club nights till 3am at weekends. There's a large outdoor food court being prepared for the summer, and an immersive theatre experience opening soon. Excellent venue all round. 🍻

Good to see a pub that genuinely wants to provide a fantastic experience for its patrons. Clearly a lot of effort has been put in to this new enterprise and from my one visit I think Catford has a real winner. Down market, out of ideas boozers with shocking management who turn a blind eye to rude, lazy belligerent staff always end up going the way of the dodo. Black Horse got what it deserved. Catford is changing and the new governors of this gaff are correct to recognise there are plenty of punters out there who will pay higher prices for an enjoyable quiet pint, good food or some late night music. The outside food market is also an outstanding new addition offering top notch cuisine. Ninth Life is going to put Catford on the map and for all the right reasons. Happy days.

Place has changed and been done up...wicked venue in Sarf East London...gwan.

I like this pub but don't arrange an event here. They've done wonders to this as it was a bit of a crack den before. Good selection of beers and a quirky decor plus lots of space. There's only one TV for sports so not ideal if you want to watch the game here. There's a spacious beer garden but there's a massive tent over it so it doesn't get any sun light whatsoever, ideal if you don't like the sun. I arranged an event here in the back room and thought the garage doors would be open (as shown on the website) but the manager refused to open them as he said people might walk into our area even though there was literally maybe 10 people in the beer garden all day. Also it mentions there's a private bar on the website for events but apparently they rarely have it open as it costs too much according to the manager. The downstairs event area is like your dad's garage basically with some cat photos on the wall. The manager seemed a bit miserable, maybe life decisions or maybe just a bad day. He has 18 years experience so he knows his stuff!
