First time at No 17 and enjoyed the food and service. Especially enjoyed the grilled sea bass and chips, a light posh fish and chips. Restaurant in centre of Ealing Broadway in an unusual and striking building. Inside and outside seating (for better weather or smokers) includes seating on first floor with views onto Elizabeth Square. Toilets 🚻 are unisex and on this occasion clean.

It was my first time here at No 17 Dickens Yard. The restaurant is located right in the centre of Ealing Broadway, on a pedestrian square. The place is rather modern and welcoming. The staff is super friendly. The food was very good and tasty. I had the caramelized banana with pancakes and butterscotch sauce: amazing. The hot chocolate was quite common. To resume, a nice place with good food maybe slightly overpriced, but I'll come back.

Super friendly staff! Great atmosphere, interiors are current but not ultra trendy, music is chill...not too loud, it exudes chic but the prices are friendly. It attracts a nice relaxed crowd. Good sized space, comfy chairs, and an outdoor area facing the square so not too much noise and traffic. I just stopped by for a pint but was welcomed just as any big-spending customer. I'll definitely come back here and if I don't, I hope to lead others here with this recommendation. It's not your iconic English pub, no football matches, or classic English fixtures, but the staff make it live up to that quintessential English hospitality. This was definitely a pleasant surprise and a gem in this part of town.

I want to give an amazing shoutout to this beautiful soul Karen who was the highlight of 2022 and this restaurant. Please come down and have lunch, dinner or drinks with the amazing service. Pay the service charge! It 100% goes to them and makes a change to the staff’s lives. Definitely coming back!

We met for a meal and drinks. There were 7 of us. We sat on the terrace which was lovely. The place was busy but we were socially distanced. Pro: the food was good. Good portion size, hot and tasty. Cons:1, only one toilet available for customers, which really surprised me. 2, because we wanted to split the bill at the end of the meal, we did ask if we could order via table service rather than the app... Did feel like this wasn't convenient for the staff. 3. We were left with our starter plates and cutlery when our main meal came, which meant room on the table was extremely tight. 4. One of our party had to look for a member of staff in order for us to order dessert and coffee.

I went there last night with my friend and we were served the best Eldorado rum I have ever tasted, by the loveliest, most attentive waiter one could wish! We also had very tasty, succulent, large olives (although serving olives with a teaspoon seemed a bit strange), squids which were amazing and seabass with chips, which were also tasty but the the fish was a little piece that would perhaps been enough for a 5 year old child. Other than this latter, the atmosphere and everything else was fantastic, we shall be back! xx

Plenty more to try at this newly opened bar/restaurant. We thought we’d give this a shot brunch. The breakfast rice bowl was a little odd, probably better with the salmon but it was a flavoursome and tasty meal. Pancakes were fluffy and had a good balance of cream and berries. Definitely one to try in the evening. Staff were friendly and service was prompt despite it being busy. It’d be nice to see a vegetarian Sunday roast alternative on the menu. Great addition to the area!

Update for 2020: we've had brunch here twice in the last month and had some very delicious food. My original problems with the service has been solved by the restaurant introducing an app that you order from. Though the staff did seem more attentive now which is a positive! Original: A tale of two halves. The food and drinks were great, the service incredibly poor. The waiters and waitresses would walk around, but it felt they were avoiding eye contact with people and just pretending to be busy, maybe they were, who knows? But as the place was only around 40% capacity at the time, I fear how long the wait to get a menu or bill would be when in the full height of summer. But if you're in the area and looking for a good cocktail, it's a decent place to go.

This is a nice place to come for dinner, drinks and brunch. The staff are really friendly and attentive and the place is comfortable with a mixture of both tables and sofas. For brunch I decided to try the breakfast rice bowl, brown rice with kimchi and pickled cucumber. Presentation is lovely but it was a little tasteless, the kimchi wasn’t quite spicy enough and the pickled cucumber needed more pickling. I ate it, it was nice but I expected a lot more.

I like the D&W martini although it was served differently each time. Great on a sunny day if you can get a seat outside.

We hadn’t made a reservation but they kindly squeezed us in. App based ordering a bit clunky as you have to set up an account before you can order but we got there! Very good brunch and my companion and I enjoyed the boozy coffee. Would have liked some extra toast with my brunch but was told it would have to be ordered via the app, which I thought was a bit tedious. We both found the desserts a bit disappointing (I do like my chocolate mousse dark rather than sweet) but would go again.

Atmosphere - great (finally a place which doesn't turn itself into a disco/club however may change when the 'norm' returns.) Overall give it a go and using the app make things so much easier to order and pay, seems to be well integrated.

Was great to finally meet friends have lunch and some beers. It is a great location with good food. Service is somewhat disjointed and the app to order and pay has teething issues. My biggest concern was lack of covid cleanliness, very dirty toilets not checked or cleaned during the few hours I was there.

Came here for on a lunchtime in the week on a cycle ride, the salad I had was so tasty and I was very impressed with the options as a vegetarian. The service was very good too, ideal timing and it felt very safe, COVID wise. The coffee also very nice! I had to return a week later, it was that good, and I was very impressed again with the veggie burger I had. I also had a old fashioned which was perfectly made, as it is easy to get wrong! The staff are very attentive and the menu choices are great, I will be sure to return.

The food at No.17 is good quality and there is a nice brunch selection. It’s generally a really relaxed and bright place to be. The staff go out of their way to provide excellent service - I was particularly impressed that when I over ordered (My own fault!) they happily suggested bagging up my leftovers to take away - great service - I would definitely recommend.

Superb restaurant, one of my favourites in Ealing Broadway. Great staff very friendly accommodating and knowledgeable about the menu. Our doggy loves it there as they served a bucket of small sausages!! We’ve been reasonably regular patrons almost from the beginning. The previous manager (who is now I believe at the Richmond branch, lucky Richmond) who’s name I’m ashamed I don’t remember. Made us feel super welcome. We miss her very much. We also are very fond of Valeria and Daniel, they made amazing Bloody Mary’s and Old Fashions. Food freshly cooked on the premises not bought in and heated up. Very tasty and always perfectly cooked.

Nice location, almost good service, some poor quality dishes. Tried the clams, but they were like smelly, with a fragrant lack of garlic, looking like the chef was kind of an apprentice cooking this dish for the first time. Managed to eat about 5 of them before capitulating. The staff was nice and helpful, but they had forgotten to bring the starters to the table, although did not forget to add them to the bill. To their merit, they offer to change my clams with an eatable steak, without charging it nor the clams. Another minus was that the app for ordering was not working. Really hope that they will do something to make things working, otherwise is such a waste of a nice restaurant!

The above average prices are off putting. However, once you decide to bite the bullet and order, you'll see that the quality is also far above average. I went for the vegan breakfast (which in many places is like a plate of cardboard) and it was absolutely delicious. Great, fresh ingredients, perfectly seasoned, properly cooked. They definitely spend time and energy on what comes out of the kitchen. The staff were friendly and attentive. Definitely recommend if you want to splash out.

Fantastic atmosphere and food. The staff were really amazing. When we arrived they were so busy that they said there would be a 30 minutes wait which we didn't mind, but my mum has a back issue and the bar chairs would have been too painful for her. Within minutes they cleared a more comfortable table then ensued we were seated for dinner 5 minutes later. They checked that we were comfortable and the service continued as well as it started. Thank you, we didn't want to have to walk around looking for other places on a cold night with a painful back, you made our night!

Been here several times now. For breakfast, coffee and now for dinner. The service has always been excellent. Coffee with a friend and my two year old saw a wonderful gentlemen who just couldn’t do enough to make our visit easy and perfect. As a regular visitor of 197 Chiswick fire station I was curious to check number 17 Dickens yard, more importantly because two of their best staff moved to the new venue. Needless to say, I was totally impressed! This is a very trendy cosmopolitan bar/eatery in Ealing and looks amazing. Both times I have visited the staff have greeted us warmly and accommodated our every request. The service provided has been first class. It is a very busy place with fantastic atmosphere. A brilliant venue to meet with friends and enjoy the ambience. The food is fine. Our drink of preference is wine though the cocktails are very good. They have recently introduced non alcoholic cocktails menu which is superb. What i love about all these venues is that I can pop in at any time on my own to have a glass of wine and a quick bite and feel totally comfortable doing so.Number 17 gets my vote and well done Jacques and team Ealing! You are all doing a great job and please keep smiling because that’s what keeps bringing me back to your bar. Service with a smile..... priceless!!!!! Very well done!!👍👍

I live at Dickens Yard, so I went to check No 17 out on the day it opened. The restaurant is beautiful inside and out - incredible attention to detail has been made in building and outfitting this place. I also enjoyed the music selection once I was inside (electronic), it wasn't too loud, it was just right. There were plenty of wait staff, cooking was a little slow but not unbearably so. However, when it came to the food, things got a little weird. I ordered the kimchi fried rice, as a fan of kimchi. But what I got was quite bizarre - a huge piece of, admittedly tasty, unchopped kimchi, and rice with peas and mushrooms. It honestly didn't make sense together. Besides the kimchi, the meal was bland and the flavour was all over the place without synergy. My husband ordered fish, it came on some plain grain; once again, it was rather bland. It would have been improved no end by a sauce. Our friend ordered the house burger; this, at least, was good, and the chips that he ordered to go with it were actually amazing. We also ordered desserts. The dessert selection was rather bold and experimental. I had the spiced peaches with coconut yoghurt and I honestly wasn't a fan, it was sour rather than sweet. My companions both ordered the dark and white chocolate mousse. They each enjoyed it. So this is a restaurant with many great points, I'm especially hoping that I'll get to try the upstairs area with the fireplace (I'm unclear on whether it's only for private functions or not). But the menu needs refinement, in my opinion; whereas I appreciate the menu's boldness and novelty, I didn't really enjoy my food, a rarity for a food lover like me.

Great place for some drinks - very cosy and comfortable. For large groups you probably need to make a booking. Staff friendly and drinks menu extensive. Didn’t eat apart from get some dessert with the drinks - tried a sample of drinks, hot gin, cocktails and wine - all fantastic. Worth a visit.

Not bad and worth trying The place is clean and buzzy, so recommend booking. We have found the food sometimes variable, but never awful, just not as good as before or nearby (great Italian a few yards away). Prices are reasonable and get one of their loyalty cards and save 25% on food.
