A classic street corner pub in East(ish) London. Lovely helpful staff. Unfortunately, lost a star as no cask ale was available. Something that will be remedied shortly, I'm sure. Quirky keg selection with Boston finest amber lager providing a fine substitute for a pint of bitter. A fine place to stop for a pint!

OLD IVY HOUSE - A WARM WELCOME Last week Thursday I, with a group of Some of My Fellow Parishioners, went for a drink at Old Ivy House. Yeah, after a serious session at The Body Church (Gym), We headed off for a get together to say, "Bon Voyage," to Our Pastor. It was My first Time at the pub. In fact, I didn't even notice it as I pass it by on My travels (to The Body Church). WARM 'N' COSY I found the interior to be very homely... There were adequate places to sit and stand. Maybe Old Ivy could've done with done with some coat racks in strategic places. I had to remove My jacket because I had generated a lot of Body Heat from an intense workout! Had I not have My gym bag, I wouldn't have had a place to put My jacket. If there were coat racks, I didn't see 'em. AUDIBLE Yes, there was background music, but - at least from where I was standing - the music didn't hamper conversations. Sure, Others did mention that They could hardly hear Themselves talk for standing too close to the speakers - obviously. I do wish that pubs would keep the music at a low volume in a similar way to elevator music. TOILETS Usually, One can smell the toilets in pubs with a large clientele, thus making The Gents easy to locate. However, the toilet facilities in Old Ivy was clean and modern looking. The only thing missing was paper towels. I don't trust that electric dryers! Moreover, there wasn't a wait to use the toilets. Oh! I would say that the two urinals are too close together for My liking. Taking a leak with a Friend makes it less awkward. Ha ha! SERVICE The service was pretty good... The glasses looked clean... The one thing that annoyed Me slightly was that ice was already in the glass as a given. I'd prefer to be asked if I wanted ice or not. Mind You, I didn't buy the drinks that night! Hee hee hee 😆 Still, from what I observed, ice was in the glass before One could say anything. Ice in tap water makes the tap water taste even worse! In future, I'll have a bottled water with no ice! RETURN Sure! I'll go there again. The Old Ivy was open quite late... We left at around midnight, whereas other pubs would have closed already. I'm not big on pubs like I used to be, I prefer bars as a whole, but Old Ivy House is a pretty good hybrid between bar and a pub. Do You know what I mean? Anyway, the clientele were quite friendly, which helps to create a welcoming atmosphere. I hope You enjoyed this review. Best wishes, Bear

Found this pub on the way to an appointment and had a quick drink here to kill time as I was early. Around 6:30pm, so a nice after work vibe. The inside is nicer than the outside and the staff are friendly. Given the area, the clientele are pretty eclectic - which is a good thing. Choice of drinks looked good and I enjoyed my experience. Would visit again.

I live next to The Old Ivy House and frequented the pub pre 'Rona'. I was extremely thankful when they opened up for takeaways at these times. They never seem too busy and also offer a few home provisions, which helps me not have to go to the supermarket as often. A few of the other residents in my block sit in our garden after a trip to the pub and enjoy the sunshine, not the prettiest view of the back of the pub, but good for us with a garden to use.

Good pub in an area with not many good pubs. It's comfortable and relatively cosy inside. Bar staff have been friendly, from my experience. I've never tried the food there, but looks like a reasonably priced menu. In case it's sunny...you can stand outside on the pavement. Goswell Road isn't too busy with traffic, which makes it quite a good spot.

Spent an evening in here last night. Really impressed. Good beers, good prices, music not too loud, tasty food. Most of all, the staff were great and really welcoming - especially Anwar who was very entertaining. Will come again!

I really like this place. It is a go-to spot for young professional locals. The staff are very nice, music is great, and interesting decor. The food is also decent enough for the price - especially on Mondays, and the drink prices are some of the best in the area. They lose a star because of they don’t really have anything good on tap, just boring lagers.

Really dog friendly, food menu has vastly improved but this does mean it's a bit more expensive than it used to be. Well worth a visit if you are in Clerkenwell. The staff are really friendly.

I got locked out of my flat and the manager, Maz, took incredibly good care of me while I waited for keys. This place is the best, Maz is a total gem, they keep a fireplace in the winter, and you should get a pint here.

This is a great pub. It has sunday lunch (roast) which is fine and good value The pub is comfortable and friendly. Half price food on Mondays. Can be crowded in early evening weekdays. Highly recommended.

This place has become a regular after work haunt because it takes card and has no limit which is ideal if you don't have any cash on you also think it does Prosecco by the glass which is cool. It does good food and the staff are nice but it does get really rammed on a Friday night.
