🚇 Homerton 🍺 £5.60 Laine Word Lager ❤️ This behemoth of a pub sits on the north end of Victoria Park and is pretty easy to get to. I walked here from my Daughter’s place in Bow which took around thirty minutes but Homerton overground station is only a four minute walk away. I visited here with my son and daughter prior to a day out around Hackney Wick and was keen to check out the @peoplestavern as I heard some good things. The first thing which strikes you as we approached from the park was the size of the beer garden, its huge. It must be one of the biggest beer gardens in London with a mixture of conservatories, open spaces, huts and an outside bar. We visited during outside only covid restrictions, so this was a perfect place to visit. The weather wasn’t great this day but this didn’t dampen the atmosphere here which was great. The pub has an on-site brewery so I thought I’d try a pint of the Word lager which was nice, my Daughter had a Pimms and my Son had a Guinness which was also decent. We didn’t have to wait too long to get our drinks and some nibbles, the service here was on point. The toilets were inside, so this was an opportunity to see the inside of the boozer which is also huge. It has a long bar with a wooden floor and some nice eclectic touches here and there. . The pub is now back in full swing and offers Blues music on Sundays, DJ’s on weekend evenings and a quiz for good measure. I really enjoyed visiting this boozer and must return for the full experience. . 📊 Information correct on visiting 16/05/21

Great pub garden for a sunny day. Lively vibe, just so nice to be here. Lots of craft beer on tap and cans are available. Buffalo wings were so juicy. Burger was a bit undercooked but still tasty. Goes well with a pint of beer. They have many table at back so no need to book in advance, even on bank holiday. Love this place!

Nice pub, lively place to go on a Sunday afternoon with a nice atmosphere. The food was ok, I had a roast and it came cold with the carrots tasting of chlorine. The staff are also quite slow which later in the afternoon led to huge queues at the bar. I ordered and paid for dessert which it turned out wasn’t available. It then took an hour or so to get my money back as the staff member I initially spoke to forgot and didn’t come back to me. Slightly inconvenient considering it was their error.

I really enjoyed my time here at the peoples park tavern the other day, although there was a problem with our food, and we called the young waiter who was very kind to talk to the chef and give us a different option from the menu. The staff there are very kind, the bar was approachable and just felt welcomed there. Also, it would be lovely if Christmas music was playing, but not too loud too as me and my friends have to shout to speak. This place is really welcoming, do not listen to the negative reviews!! They shouldn't affect on how you see this place!! Their experience was their issue.

Great Philosophy Club debates everyfortnighton Saturday afternoons, interesting people, engaging debates and interesting to learn about perspectives from around the world. The pub is warm inside and very busy through the afternoon with young people and families. Also, has a pinball machine inside.

A people's tavern indeed. Friendly bunch of servers, speedy service, Corona faff avoided by having QR codes at every table for checking in and ordering. Great garden, cat included 😀 as others mentioned, a wider food choice would be great. Liked the option to tip the staff on the app. Few people carry cash nowadays and it's nice to be able to tip.

It is right next to Victoria park, very relaxed atmosphere, almost feels like a getaway from the outside world. There are arcade games, a greenhouse for outdoor seating away from the cold. There is also indoor seating quite spacious and lots to keep you occupied. The staff are also very friendly and helpful! Honestly had a great time.

I don’t understand how the food can be that bad? Ordered food in this place over the last 4 years, and every time hope it might have improved. Unfortunately it’s got worse. You seriously need to improve the quality of your food. (Photo below is the £16.50 beef brisket, Looks more like an old flip flop, table laughed (and so did the waiter) when the waiter brought this over)... Otherwise drinks are all ok, service not to bad, extremely busy at the moment so need to be patient of order time, and the pub in general is a nice vibey pub in lovely location. 3*

Fantastic place on the edge of Victoria Park in London. They have a wide range of beer and larger on tap from the Laine Brew Co including very nice pale ales, IPA's and IPL's. Popped in for a drink at lunch and staff were very helpful, offering samples of some of the beers.

Really great pub. I like it here a lot and it's even better now that they have a lot of outdoor tables which are under cover with heaters. The drink selection is really good, though wish there was more food options, but is really easy to order through their app. However, service speed let it down unfortunately as we spent a lot of time wondering where are drinks were.

Nice pub, doing takeaway at the moment. This was the food menu yesterday, you go through a one-way takeaway system. The burgers come with chips, the chicken burger was good, if a bit spicy for my sensitive taste buds (it's grilled chicken) and the jackfruit one (in a breaded patty, not pulled) was well liked as well. I had a pleasant experience at this little outfit, enjoying some nice drinks with some colleagues. The USP for this park is the fact that it backs neatly onto the fantastic Victoria Park, where rays of sunshine decorate the grassy verges. On to the pub itself, the menu is decorated with an abundance of local ales, ciders and lagers. Quite standard and the prices are fine. The staff are friendly and charming and you can tell they're glad to be open again! The outdoor area can get chilly, and its a bit of a "roll of the dice" with regards to where you get seated (some areas have heaters, some areas do not). The food is....good.... the chips are absolutely sensational but the falafel balls were a bit naff. Not crispy enough! It was disappointing that it took about 20mins to receive a drink (always order with this lag in mind). You would expect that with a booking system, management would have the foresight to employ a few more people and ensure that supply met the burgeoning demand. Focus on customers first, then look to cut costs! All said and done, 3* is a fair rating for this place. Nothing special, nothing awful. Standard pub, with mixed highlights and drawbacks.

This is a great pub, situated right on the park, perfect for a sunny day to dip into after relaxing in the park. I spent my birthday there last year and booked several outdoors tables which was perfe t for my group. It's such a shame that in this current climate we cannot enjoy it in the same way as we have in the past, but it remains a fantastic spot with great food, lovely selection of drinks, and lots of people with their dogs visiting which is always a bonus! I'm particularly taken by the mangolicious beeer that they do.

Love the atmosphere. But food is soooooo expensive and there’s not much choice. I’d recommend if you’re looking for an outdoor drinking session. But it will cost you quite a lot. Also, they don’t seem to like children much, so be aware before you take your toddler there.

Big outdoors space with booths and cover for when the London weather fails us. Backs onto Victoria Park. Also has some tables out the front. Gets busy and still has a good atmosphere in Covid times (hard to find!) Booking is advisable. Menu is good and the service is friendly but not fast. Waited 45 minutes for a bottle of wine with little to no apology because they had delivered it to the wrong table (who accepted it, like I would, free wine!) generally I like it here, but less today.

Covid Review (07/2020) Walk in following the arrows stick to the floor (it a bit like taxing at the airport) and find a place to sit. Then you order your drinks online, no going to the bar. We times it, 2:56 minutes from ordering to pints on table. That's a good turn around! Staff are super friendly, going around letting us know that the park was being locked up, in case we had our bikes chained inside the park. So they're doing well, trying to balance going to the pub with keeping your distance. Solid effort!

Nice venue and great garden. Expect to have quite a long wait at the bar even when it's not very busy. Also the music inside is too loud to sit and have a conversation. The smell from the toilets is quite strong too sometimes.

The garden is massive, which is great through to the later hours. However, the organisation of closing the garden is dreadful, everyone is herded into the pub, which isn't big enough to hold everyone. Massive overspill issue and you're then forced to queue if you go out for a cigarette until it quiets down. The drinks cost what you'd expect in East London. Music was great from the DJ.

A cool East London pub with a great outside space - wooden tables with little roofs and great lamps along with a large marquee, all backing straight onto Victoria Park. Good selection of beers, residually if you're into "craft" beer. Food was ok, sausages weren't anything to write home about but it was a tasty-enough mash and gravy for a decent bangers and mash.
