Reviews of Redwood Sports Pub & Kitchen
L. P.
Did not expect much when we walked in here. Looked nice enough, bright and airy. Lots of TVs around the place showing different sports. We ordered a selection of food from the menu to share between us. Staff was very friendly. Food was above expectations. Tasted really good and was nice a fresh, also piping hot. Very reasonable prices too. Think we will be back here when we need a quick lunch in the middle of the working day.
A. H.
Great bar opposite the entrance to The Shard. Reasonably priced and a good collection of drinks. Pretty quick service. Plenty of TVs around the bar shoring football and rugby...even over the urinals. Good atmosphere overall. Not pretentious, which is nice to see, given the location.
R.
Positives: great location, a good amount of screens and the staff are nice. Good atmosphere on game days.
Negatives: On the other hand, it loses 2 stars for being considerably overpriced, even for London - £8.50 for a tiny (likely 4 inches wide) cheesecake, £8 for what is probably a 6 inch garlic bread pizza, & £15.50 for a chicken burger&chips in which the chicken meat has been bad quality (grey/discoloured/thin) every time I have visited.
The curly fries taste like they have just been purchased from a supermarket (own brand) and put into the oven, definitely not worth the £4.50 for the tiny portion.
I would give 3.5 stars if I could.
M. M.
Atmosphere was great with lots of screens spread across two floors so easy to get a view of the sports. However, I’m unsure if Redwood were short staffed when we visited but, there were two occasions where we waited over half an hour for a round of pints, our drinks order was wrong, our bill was charged incorrectly and in general the food was unfortunately overpriced for what it was so I’ve given the 3/5 stars mainly for poor service
B. K.
Came here to watch a tennis game. Luckily for us they had it on the big screen. But, compared to other sports pubs, this one had a variety of games on. From tennis to football and even baseball (among with some other sports as well). Lots of drinks (as per usual in a pub) and even some plant-based options as well when it comes to drinks (plant-based milk) and food! But if I had to mention on negative, it would be that they don’t have any sound on during the game. Then again, this is understandable since not everyone is there to watch a game. All in all, exactly what I expected when I set course for this pub. So the 5 stars are deserved!
K. H.
Lovely vibe and speedy friendly service. I'd like to pass a personal thanks to Christina for bubbly service who was an absolute darling. Couldn't ask for more from her. Thank you for a great evening!! Highly recommend.
S. G.
Great service and food beforea trip up the Shard
N. M.
I've been here multiple times and usually there is always lots of people in here. Today was no exception, but sitting with my friends I could barely hear them as they set the TV speaker very loudly. It is a sports pub so to be expected but we could not speak about the game.
There are two floors and if you are at the ground floor it might be a bit louder when soccer games are on. Lots of TV's everywhere, even in the bathroom. Different sports are on (depending on if Premier league etc is on or not). An alright sports bar.
Food was very good though. Their mac and cheese spring roll was so tasty!
j. k.
Not the easiest place to find as the navigation basically asks to go through walls if you leave London Bridge station on the ground floor. But the pub itself is quite nice with outdoor space and great for watching sports.
R. G.
Nice atmosphere to watch your sports and/or have a drink. Staff were polite and courteous.
a. m.
I had a great time there watching the super bowl with my fellow American travelers. Downside is, one of the servers stole my chain off my neck towards the end of the night. I do not trip over materialistic things so i hope whomever he gave it to really appreciated it.
M. T.
Fantastic new bar in London Bridge which has all the sports. Was in there for the Chelsea vs Everton game wasn't very busy at all but had a great time. You can see the TVs from everywhere which is what makes a sports bar great, they even have TV's in the toilet so you don't miss anything.
H. R.
Great spot for a drink to watch sport. Does get crowded. Has upstairs and downstairs area. Bit hard to find the first time.
s. g.
Good place to drink on the doorstep of London Bridge Station. All of the tables on the 2 occasions I have been here (Saturday lunch) were pre-booked, so book ahead if you don't want to stand.
D. C.
Absolutely belting day for the football. You guys were great, brilliant staff that looked after us superbly, especially Emillia and Sophia. Food was banging too!
A. B.
Redwood is a great addition to the London Bridge area. Right next to the mainline station concourse, in the shadow of the Shard, this new sports bar is the perfect stop-off to see a big sporting event on the huge screens, or for a drink before catching the last train. It’s modern, vibrant and bursting with energy. Run by a tight ship of dedicated staff, eager to please, they also serve up pretty tasty food. #redwood #londonbridge #sportsbar
K. S.
I came here with my two young boys, their staff were very accommodating and welcoming. Their food is amazing and the atmosphere is great.
P. M.
Great location, next to the Shard and train station.
There is a good selection of food and drink with plenty of tables inside and outside (heating and umbrellas)
A. M.
Great that they mix the sports up rather than just always showing football. Friendly staff and good choice of ales.
S. W.
Great time went to. Watch the racing
Ellis the barman looked after us
1st class job
Thank you
S. V.
Fantastic for a couple of beers before the train and even a couple before the couple. Quick friendly staff ,👍
T. S.
Good beer and service but loses a star because it is FREEZING cold. What’s that all about? Don’t you want me to stay?!
A. M.
Despite the unfortunate football result from the Euros final, our group of 6 couldn’t of been in a better setting with a more vibrant atmosphere.
The bar itself is so well designed with an excellent menu to match. The food was delicious and the home brewed on tap beer was perfect and good value for money.
All in all a great night spent with good people. A special mention to Zach who arranged our booking and his team, specifically Emilia and Sophia who between them gave us 5* service from the minute we walked in to the second we stumbled out. Great work girls and thank you for making what became a painful end to the night that little bit more bearable.
P. N.
Excellent food and drink. Very good service. Handy for the station too
S. L.
When convenience is key this place is great. It's at the station. Plenty of outdoor space. Decent selection of beer and wine. Table service via the app. Excellent pizza and a fantastic lost boys chicken burger. They also have lots of TV screens to show multiple football matches at once. Lots of indoor space and no queue for ladies toilets! A winner!
D. F.
Good atmosphere and drinks, food is ok , avoid the burgers
O. M.
Staff were very accommodating and even let us watch the rugby whilst all the football was on.
I. G.
Lively bar near the shard. Smart and clean with a trendy clientele. Would visit again if ever in the area.
R. H.
OK spot for watching the football. Decent selection of beers but obviously at the price you'd expect in Central London... Though don't always expect them to honour your reservation as I found out when they just gave away my friend's outside table booking to someone else.
D. N. T.
V
The staff were all very friendly, attentive and warm. Served me fast and efficiently. Thank you.
C. S.
A bit late writing this but had a table booked here for the Euro Final. The staff were fantastic, particularly Emilia and Sophie, very friendly and welcoming. Food and location is great too. Will be coming back soon, thanks guys.
R. A.
Seems like a reasonable place for a late night drink
c. P.
Served by Mummo who was really friendly and accommodating. We wanted to watch the boxing so he ensured that we were seated near the bigger screens. Food was typical pub grub, but really nice. All staff were nice. Good atmosphere but social distancing in place so we felt comfortable & safe.
P. B.
Lots of big screens showing whatever sports you might want to watch. They showed the F1 (albeit without sound) which is fantastic as not many places do. Great selection of beers but definitely on the pricey side - don't expect pints below £6. Not surprising given the location right under the Shard though. Nice polite staff & a spacious outdoor area with screens facing outwards.
D. P.
This is a lovely bar set right next to London Bridge Station. The staff are extremely friendly and always have provided great service. I've only given this 3 stars because of the hit your wallet will take. It's great for that quick drink, but if your out for longer I'd recommend taking a short walk where there are plenty of places where the prices are more reasonable.
I.
Super trendy pub garden, huge variety of drinks / food. Perfect location, lots of seating aswell - however always busy! Football on giant TVs that you can view from the outside, with table service for food & drinks. Super nice staff, I would totally recommend for a bar - is a bit pricy however !
D. A.
Very nice and warm. Watched the AFCON game live too😬
A. A.
Limited options of beer (for exemple when we were there guinness and an other beer on draft weren't even available). Neither a irish/english pub nor a classic sports bar.
J. B.
Very good location at the entrance to London bridge station and next to the Shard. The screens for sports events allow for great viewing of events. The beer selection is broad but all keg. This is a good place for group sport watching and post work sessions. Not cheap but the location is unique.
N. D.
Great spot.
Transport only a stumble away.
Can be expensive for drinks and a heavy surcharge 4u 2B served.
Corona bites again.
Suppose we will have to expect this to help keep the bars in business.
A.
First time here. Won't be the last. Really enjoyed myself.
M. M.
Great spot for F1 races. A small crowd, COVID times, but they gave us the big screen upstairs and had the sound on nice and clearly. Decent beer, friendly and helpful staff. Would go back to watch another F1 race if I was sticking around.
D. K.
Table service is excellent, staff always attentive. Screens are great for the football. Burgers are very tasty, as are the wings.
Upstairs and downstairs tables, so plenty of space.
Great beers
W. W.
Nice spot, very conveniently located on London Bridge station. Great TV set-up for sport. Staff were friendly and attentive. Only small suggestion was that the audio on the football was too loud, making it hard to chat to each other (especially in the COVID era).
D. M.
Excellent location, great atmosphere, good food and really friendly and engaging staff, thank you Emilia and Sophia who looked after us! Shout out to Zach for sorting out table booking!!
A. F.
This place is essentially a Wetherspoons but with sports being shown on TV's and double the price for food and drink. It's convenient for a swift half before getting the train at London Bridge, but really not worth going out of your way for.
a. l.
I had a great time!, it was my first time at Redwoods, I came with my bestie, lovely drinks, the bar tender called Mono ( not sure if I spelt correctly sorry) made us amazing cocktails and looked after us so well! lovely energy with the biggest smile, I'm deffo returning! loved the outdoor benches, great views!
D. O.
Really confortable, clean. Well placed screens all over for seeing your chosen sport. Screens even in the loo so you don't miss a minute. Seconds away from the London bridge train station, stones throw from tube. Well spaced. Seating over two floors. Drink selection basic. Didn't get food. Footy and simple drink post eating out, Redwood does the job very well.
S. A.
More like a 3 and a half. Some of the staff were very rude/ignorant, and the food is okayish. Great atmosphere for sports matches
S. D.
Great location friendly professional staff good choice of food and drink plenty of TV screens all around, up stairs is even better. Love your guy on the door he was friendly and professional. Thank you for a great evening.
g.
Great food and service deffo go back
N. O.
Drinks not too pricey, not had food here so can't comment, for sport its great, I asked the staff to change the main screen from golf to cricket and they obliged.
B. H.
Popped in with a friend for a quick 'one last drink' before going home. Turned into a few due to the effecient bar service and buzzy atmosphere. Great to be out enjoying ourselves again! Brilliant location for London Bridge station.
R. A.
Good pub with lots of space and screens. Note that it is cashless
V. B.
We visited Redwood to get some food before our trip home.
And the food was good and at a good price!
But what made it exceptional was the service!
We had a waiter called Jermaine and his service was THE best we had in London for our stay.
Give that man a raise!
D. B.
We went here on 23rd Nov to watch the Chelsea vs Man City match & the bar tender Katrina was really welcoming & funny. She made our exprience great suggesting to try the nachos which were really good! It was a great atmosphere and would definitely come again & recommend it!
J. M.
Good screens and selection of food. It is very pricey though
F. A.
Mono was a really great host and was very attentive with me and my friend throughout the night! Loved the finger foods to snack on and tasty cocktails!
Great place to be when your waiting for a train
M. S.
Nice pub plenty of selection in noth beers and sports.very nice
B. J.
Really nice place. Super convenient location for having a drink whilst waiting for a train. But I also stop there on the way to the football. Loads of tvs loads of sports. Not cheap but let's face it, it is London.
a. w.
Decent enough atmosphere, especially for a station location. No real ale but enough of a choice to find a palatable pint.
Massive screens showing the mid-week football, will probably drop on again on my way to the train.
S. W.
Service is great, friendly staff. Big screen for sports games, would recommend for an sports event or a quick work drink.
A. O.
I had the classic burger. Best burger I've had in a long while and very filling. The staff are friendly and welcoming.
A. W.
Good food, even better service!
D. B.
Great location, friendly staff. Excellent for Premier League games (book a table).
M. L.
Excellent well run sports bar, fast table service, high standard of the typical sports bar menu, closest you’ll get to an American style sports bar experience in London! #wings #burgers #premierleague #football #nfl #F1 #skysports #sportsbar
J. B.
A nice place, really good staff and service so no waiting ages for drinks 👍and good outside area too...
S.
Popped in for a lite bite after visiting the Shard earlier, after mentioning we should have been there on Friday for Sue's birthday but couldn't due to the incident at London Bridge, Ger and the team came up with an impromptu birthday cake and greeting for her! Thanks guys, made her day! 🎉🎉🎉
L. C.
Thank you Gemma Finlay for your great customer service. Really appreciate your time and efforts.
m. k.
amazing lovely everything was great fantastic service and delicious drinks
D. B.
Expensive, but then nothing unexpected based on its location, good food and good selection of drinks.
A. G. -. P.
Decent. Food portions could be bigger.
C. B.
Huge plasma screens, very good cocktails, clean bathrooms. The proximity to London Bridge platforms is making it the best place for a quick pint before going home.
L. M.
Friendly staff , very accomodating to me and my party. Food nice .
Expensive drinks though
N. W.
Possibly the worst wings in London. Seen more meat on a butcher's pencil and watery sauce, and I've had 5 pints
J. D.
More TV screens than Curry's. I can't imagine there's a seat in there where you don't get a good view of what's on
J. a. F. S.
Visited on Sunday, great atmosphere and service. Was my 1st time out to watch the football, and despite the social distancing it still had a fantastic atmosphere
A. M.
As it was raining the seating g outside was limited, so went inside upstairs and it was very different actually just having a drink leaning on the bar.
S. K.
Nice bar & friendly staff
A. T. E. E.
Great location near London Bridge. I have been here a few times with family and friends. Sometimes can get really loud inside when the football is on.
A. K.
