A proper neighbourhood cocktail bar! As soon as you walk in you’re transported to a different place. Dimly lit, with beautiful lighting and interiors and the staff were very welcoming. The bartender definitely knew his stuff and kindly explained everything whilst making the cocktails. Loved the Sloe Negroni, but more so the House Martini, served in a frozen glass - proper nice! Highly recommended!👌🏼

The best of East London cocktail bar culture in a nutshell. It's trendy without being pretentious. Service is attentive, knowledgable and friendly but not overbearing. Water is constantly topped up and glasses are frosted. These little details are what makes this place truly great. Drinks are fabulous and the menu is always changing, but if you want to order classics then they are always made perfectly. Music is great for hip hop fans like myself. Satan's Whiskers is up there with the best cocktail bars in London and I will be back time and time again.

Honestly these are the best cocktails in town. Fabulous spot. Mind you most would miss it...the outside is covered in graffiti and together with the metal shutters you'd never except a stylish cocktail bar to be inside. So totally east London. What can I say except epic-ly made drinks. So much attention to detail. Super happy to be able to stop by and enjoy one of their London Cocktail Month cocktails. Delicious cocktails and great vibes, unfortunately our server Julie was very sassy and boarder line passive aggressive and don't think she fit in the vibe of the bar. My favorite cocktail bar in London, firstly with the cocktails each one is well researched and made by incredibly well trained bartenders, I have never had a cocktail I dislike here. I would recommend you ask the bartender what they recommend you to drink rather than order off the menu and they will go above and beyond all of your expectations. The cocktai bar is expensive and rightly so with the level of quality they provide. All staff are incredibly friendly and talkative providing a level of entertainment to your evening should you engage with them at the bar. Definitely the best place I've taken someone on a date to.

We popped in here last night for a couple of drinks before attending a gig nearby. We were warmly greeted upon walking in, and I instantly loved the quirky interior with the, uh, creative taxidermy. Having table service is a big plus in a cocktail bar so we were chuffed to find that’s how they run here; we were immediately seated and provided with glasses of water and menus by a friendly waiter who returned shortly to take our orders. We ended up having several rounds, all of which were excellent and well-presented, as well as some food, which was surprisingly good. It’s unusual to find a cocktail bar in London that does actual meals in addition to more snack type food. We enjoyed the atmosphere, drinks, food and above all the friendly and attentive staff so much that we’ll definitely be returning again soon.

Absolutely great cocktail bar in Bethnal green. Reasonable prices - around £8.50 the cocktail with really fast service and great decoration inside - some dissected animals. Quite trendy crowd as well. Ask the waitress about different cocktails out of the menu, they can recommend different things. Coktails were delicious, the long ones and shorts.

Very good place for a drink and bite. Walked past it as it looked a bit shut down. Turned around and went back. Glad we did. Inexpensive and well served. Felt as if we could have spent the whole night there drinking and eating. The staff were attentive not overwhelming which is nice. Best bar in London! This has always been a favourite of ours because of the amazing service, delicious food and exceptional cocktails... and tonight was no exception! We stopped in hoping to get a table for 2 and were immediately greeted and seated. They staff are so tentative and never let your water glass get empty! Seriously, over the past few years of coming here we have never had anything but the absolute best service. The hospitality here is unreal! They are always happy to answer any questions and offer to cater to any specific needs or requests. The food menu may be small, but it's so tasty! The atmosphere in here is always great too, between the quirky decor and the chill hip hop playing, it caters to any crowd - and it's always busy without feeling crowded. Do yourself a favour and go to this bar, you won't be disappointed.

Classic cocktail bar ideal for a pre-drink, buzzing atmosphere, music is not too loud and service is relaxed. Ollie is a discreet and friendly bartender, the Airmail cocktail is refreshing yet a little strong, nice mint chocolate given before you leave. Reservation may be recommended in the weekend for groups of 3+. Minimal sign outside, possibly to avoid random guests.

A menu that changes every day makes it impossible to recommend any particular cocktails but that’s part of the brilliance here. This is a tremendously well-run establishment. Everything is top notch, executed to such a high standard but at London-standard cocktail prices — so not exorbitant. The decor inside here is brilliant and there’s a very casual feel and atmosphere. The cocktails themselves were simply spellbinding — well-presented, well-mixed, great flavours, just the whole package. Staff are great too, friendly and helpful. One of London's best cocktail bars. This place is not trying to win awards for the most innovative cocktail including the weirdest ingredients, but instead they focus on great quality craft cocktails. The menu changes on a daily basis, dependent for instance on what fruit is in season. Apparently there are more than 400 recipes in their database, and contains some of the great forgotten classics as well as modern proprietary creations. You can of course also order off menu. All juices are squeezed freshly on a daily basis, and the other products from the house base spirits to the liqueurs are all carefully selected and show that the bartenders here know their stuff. The decor is quirky with taxidermy (a PDT reference perhaps?) and other interesting little details making you want to look around and see what else there is to discover. They also serve a good selection of bar food for those of you who also get a little peckish when having a few cocktails. Although it's in a part of town where I normally don't stay I always make the journey into the East End to have a few cocktails here.

Stumbled into this hidden gem after arriving late to our hotel "Town Hall" across the street. Food was excellent (try the Scotch Eggs + Sweet Potato Wedges) and the drinks are well crafted. It's reminiscent of a San Francisco hipster bar with low key locals and friendly servers / bar tenders. A great complement to a night at the "Town Hall" for anyone looking to keep the Design Hotel feel rolling later into the evening.

Satan's Whiskers is one of my very top drinking spots. Only opening in the evening, it's recommended you book ahead although they do have a service to call you if a table becomes available. Prepare to step into a deliciously dark and decadent space to drink the best cocktails. The staff really know their stuff. Choose from the changing menu or tell the waiter what flavours you like and they'll make something just for you.

As of 14/11/18 this is the #2 bar in London on Trip Advisor. (I might have tried the #1 bar, but it wasn't called 'Satan's Whiskers.') All the reviews I've read mention the super-friendly staff, and this is well justified. Was greeted upon entry and seated, host asked me if I'd prefer to sit at the bar and informed me as soon as a space there become available. I had just one drink, The Tenessee Swizzle, and it was mind-blowing. JD, lemon, vanilla and...something. It's an official Jack Daniel's competition cocktail, and it shows. £9.00 is a fair price at any decent cocktail bar. The decor is worth a mention - almost exclusively candle-lit and with skulls and taxidermy everywhere (I think that was a sloth skeleton?) This place is worth a tube ride to Bethnal Green all by itself.

Delighted to find this cocktail joint with some buzz was just a quick jaunt from my flat. Taxidermied animals in clothes, skulls, and plenty of comfortable seating set the tone for the night. We each got two cocktails and lingered over them, and everyone else seemed to be a hot date. The cocktail menu changes on the daily, so no point reciting to you what was in my drink, but everything was mighty tasty. My favorite involved orgeat and champagne, so it was all almonds, rose water, and bubbles, no complaints here. The little chocolate tile before you pay your bill is a nice touch!

First date or a night out with friends, this place is one of the coolest cocktail bars in London. There is taxidermy dotted around the bar and it's walls, old school hi-hop playing and close quarters tables, but all of these little things add up to one brilliant night out. Some may be put off by sitting so close to strangers, but if nothing else you should take it as an opportunity to break with London tradition, make eye contact and talk to new people. Get the low down on what others are drinking, try and get through as much of the menu as you can - just make sure you're able to walk to the kerb to grab a taxi in the wee hours of the morning. Trust me, you'll be there that long.

Really nice cocktails, cosy atmosphere and decent bar food. Unpretentious on the whole (relative to Hackney levels of pretension). The '90's hip-hop' thing is probably part of creating the atmosphere of an american bar (it seems to be modelled on a NY bar) and it isn't too loud to talk, they have a nice sound system, it is bassy and clear without being overpowering. I like it and would recommend it to anyone I know and love dearly...

Better for cocktails with a bit of nosh on the side, rather than for a meal out, I reckon. But then I ain't from around these parts.
