Reviews of Silver Cross
K. B.
It is a large pub. It was busy. But staff did their best to serve everyone quickly. Didn't eat but saw lots of fish and chips being served that looked ( and smelt!) Lovely. Happy to visit again! Understand Thursday and Friday evenings and Sunday morning are busiest.
R. D.
This is a big pub at the Trafalgar Square end of Whitehall. Over the years I have often popped in here for drinks as it’s a reliable place to get a pint and a seat.
Glad to see Covid hasn’t changed that and this remains a good stop. Choice of lagers is good.
Have never eaten here so cannot comment on the food, but I think it’s a Greene King, so should be of a decent quality.
K. M.
Lovely Little Traditional English Pub
Great Beer ( camden local ) but Kitchen was Closed day the Arsenal BEAT the Spuds 3 - 1 ..... N.L.D. day!
M. R.
Not a bad pub, decent amount of screens to watch live sport.
Came in prior to football and asked about food and was told that there was no food orders.
During the match. Not only did one portion of food arrive to our table that we didn’t order but several.
We then asked are “you serving food now?” Whilst the waiter was holding food then proceeded to say.
“I’ll go and check” for a moment I thought I was in a comedy club..
T. T.
Nice place, ideal if you want to spend some time with your friends. On two levels. Only bad thing, the ladies' bathroom doors were not closing, but everything else was perfect. Great food
L. B.
They were so speedy serving all of us! It was a Tuesday, normally a quiet night but we all came in after our show 60 people! And we were served so quickly and so well looked after! Great lovely fun staff. Highly recommend ♥️♥️ MILES IS A BABE XXX

Wanted a place to meet some friends close to Charing Cross. Chose a pub on the other side of the road but when got there it was more like a hotel bar. So went looking for an alternative & walked in here. Busy atmosphere but able get 2 tables push together in a quiet corner. Fast service at the bar (which was quicker than service by their app). Interesting choice of ales inc one of their own
J. “. C. C.
Nice place to relax with a drink or eat lunch or dinner. The establishment felt a bit run down but the ambiance nevertheless was good. This place also offers powerbanks to charge any device you have. Very clever.
G. H.
Amazing service, staff and delicious food! Never been to a pub that takes such great care of their customers. Definitely will come again!
L. F.
I came in yesterday for food and drink and have to say I very much enjoyed my experience! Great staff and atmosphere, couldn’t fault it. Will 100% be back to visit again. Thank you very much Silver Cross x
S. T.
Visited yesterday before the theatre for a spot of Sunday lunch which was delicious and reasonably priced for central London. Pub was very busy but manager kept it under control and was advising everyone on food time which really helped us with time keeping. Will definitely be visiting this little gem again.
S. B.
The salt beef burger is to die for!!!! Loving the jolly bartender and waitress. Wish I took their names now to give them the credit but thank you for a great experience
T. L.
Good atmosphere - a tad bit too rowdy for my taste (given it's central and there seemed to be a lot of football fans) but overall a decent pub with wide range of selection of food.
T. B.
Very busy pub but clearly very well managed. Ordered our food and drink at the bar, staff were friendly and polite. Our food arrived quickly especially considering how busy it was and was delicious.
R. L.
Came in here for drinks and food really nice atmosphere and staff was lovely Stacey and poppy in particular helped make our evening great thank you girls can’t wait to return back perhaps our new local
S.
A great bar we enjoy our times here, they have a lot of spaces a larges choices of drink and food even for vegan and it was really nice!
a. l.
Nice stop for an hour today.Food nice and beer all good.
We Felt suitably refreshed & relaxed to go on our merry way and Will return again at some point.
L. F.
Typical restaurant. Excellent quality and presentation of food. Very friendly and kind staff. The furniture is also very nice. Located in the city center and therefore close to the main attractions. Very good beers and the typical London dish "fish and chips". Good quality / price ratio
J. K.
Came into the silver cross back in December before a trip to winter wonderland - food was amazing came out in good timing and they had a brillaint drink variety ranging from all different flavour sambucas that obviously we had to try and being a lover of guinness I must say it was the best I had on the day and probably the best in London.
T. B.
Perfect little spot for brillaint drinks and food. Came in here to avoid a protest and the staff was brillaint still managing to give a brillaint service despite what was going on outside and made everyone feel safe. Highly recommend this venue and there large fish and chips
b. c.
I am from Cornwall and had a great day sightseeing ended off with a visit to the silver cross perfect ending to a great day, Stacey and all of her colleagues were so welcoming and friendly. I will definitely be popping in the next time I am in London, 5 stars definitely.
K. T.
Had a lovely meal and few drinks would defo recommend and will be going back again service was quick and food was lovely
J. B.
Popped in at lunchtime and had a decent beer and my wife had one of the many gins on offer. Conveniently situated pub near to Trafalgar Square. We thought the menu looked to offer very basic pub style food so did not eat here. Toilets could have been cleaner. Plenty of seating and sport is shown on the TVs here.
D. T.
Had a lovely meal, service was exceptional will
definitely come back with friends when we return to london
C. T.
Just had a lovely meal service was first class will definitely be going back thanks George think he was the manager not sure love London.
R. F.
Lovely London pub. Reasonable choice of food, just a shame they stop serving meals around 8pm and don't mention it.
P. D.
Great pub in a perfect location that serve great food and drink what more could you want . 100 yds from trafalger square a great base for all the sites
L. H.
The staff is not too pleasant here but the service is fast. Not a wide variety of non alcoholic drinks too. Its on the same stretch as westminister abbey but opposite end of the street. They have and upper area and you can take the stairs to downstairs which is also where the restrooms are. There are ample stalls for the female bathroom. The roast chicken has no color to it and looks unappealing but the lasange was presented well and tasted good
R. H.
Fish n Chips were great! Not quite what I expected for London /UK, but I still enjoyed them. I loved the atmosphere, and pub feel!
p. a.
Ha a Great fish and chips meal with mushy peas great value for money will come again 😊
A. D.
This is a great pub to sit back and relax in while you watch sports games and hang out with friends or family over drinks and good bar food. Unlike other pubs that rush you out the door as soon as you take your last bite, that doesn't happen here. You order your drinks and food at the bar, and food runners bring your food to your table. It's a good setup that works well. The staff is friendly here.
E.
Nice pub, very central. Went on London Marathon day, so that should be taken into account. Drinks service was horrendous using the QR code. 40 minutes for a pint of Guinness. Bar service should be resumed.
V. D.
Visited this place in the evening. It was very busy and we had to order food before the kitchen closed at 10pm. They brought the food relatively fast, and the pie cost around £14. It tasted great, but I did not think it was worth the money. Nonetheless, this IS a pub and they specialize in serving you alcohol. I would definitely recommend someone try this place.

June 2018
Here again after 3-years. Trying the Salt beef burger. Good stuff! Love the stout from tap!!!
November 2016
Here for good burger and better beers! Cheers!
G. S.
Awesome food ! I stopped here as I was really hungry. I tasted first a duck & beef mixed burger. Second time a fish and chips ! I recommend this British pub, sometimes crowded but you'll appreciate the atmosphere. Order at the bar and pick up a table....
K. K.
Nice pub, and quality pub meals, offering value for money, in the heart of the capital.
C. S.
Interestingly laid out pub with an even more interesting history. Apparently the place still has an unrevoked licence granted by Charles 1st no less, to be a brothel.
I was there for a more conventional pint of beer - the pub being on the Cask Marque Ale Trail.
As I was one of the first customers in, non of the ales on offer had been drawn off and the staff (all foreigners) had no idea what was required.
Settled for a bottled beer and rated the pub accordingly.
k.
Big place with the "typical" atmosphere of an English pub. Expect high prices, but that includes good service, great food and for my experience a friendly staff.
Ask to taste the beer if you don't know it beforehand. They have small sample glasses for that.
C. C.
Really cool pub in London and even though they were very busy when i was there, the long wait for the dinner was worth it! Very tasty meal and nice friendly staff. Not a great place to go if your in a hurry to eat. I believe it took around 35 minutes to get my meal. This place is best for taking your time and really take your time to relax.
L. S. S.
Perfect place after a day of walking and sightseeing in rainy London. Find a table, remember your table number and order at the bar. They have cask ales which is a must in this town. Had the fish and chips... perfect portion. Delicious!
G. H.
Great pub lovely atmosphere bar staff very friendly fast service even though the pub was packed.
We will be back.
K. H.
Good beer, good food.i recommend the chicken wings. when in London....go to a pub ;) this pub feels like London. service was good alsoProper fish and chips and nice cold Guinness with a lot of great atmosphere made for a great lunch in London!
D. D.
Place was empty unfortunately as its a big pub. Used to use it in 1979 when based in Whitehall with RN. Dont remember it being this big. Good drinks selection no food though.
S. C.
Really lovely and helpful staff. We were well looked after on our visit. Will definitely be returning
j. m.
What a great venue in the heart of London . Great service , brilliant atmosphere and tasty food . What more can you ask for .
A. S.
I really liked the history behind that place, I mean Lord Nelson used to come here! I came in at noon, the staff were friendly, the food was good, the decor reminiscent of the historical era I guess... It wasn't a five star experience but worth visiting if you are on your second or third trip in London.
C. T.
Great pub great food great atmosphere will definitely return
B. W.
Everything was spot on and great portions of food for the price. Plenty of places to sit and staff are attentive.
A. R.
Lovely place great atmosphere full of history and lovely food
M. S.
What a great find! We got it at 2 for 1 drinks and 1/2 price share food time! It was amazing! The only 'happy hour' type deal I'd found in London! The drinks were amazing and the food wasn't bad. Not my fave pub food, but for half price I was in NO way disappointed!
S. B.
Lovely pub good food reaonably priced
J. M.
Well worth a visit , popped in on Saturday and the place was packed but the staff were very efficient and food was of a great quality and very reasonably priced for its location
R. F.
Great pub! Watched the final 3 games of the Euros in here and the staff looked after us really well. Refreshing to see such great customer service in what has been a difficult time for pubs. Can't fault them at all!
C. W.
Nice traditional pub in Whitehall reasonable price for food and drinks we always visit when in London
D. C.
Good beer, good food, not bad prices considering the location!
S. H.
Really authentic London pub. Had a good couple of hours in there Sat 22/1/22
J. O.
Wonderful pie! The ideal meal to go with the beer. The atmosphere is super nice, with bathrooms and plenty of space. Fast and efficient service. Don't go for the fish and fries, go for the pie!
R. S.
Friendly staff, good atmosphere, enjoyed the drink there.
M. R. C.
I went there with my wife, the food is good, and the place is nice and has a good atmosphere but the guy who took our order (Miles according to our ticket) had a lousy attitude, was very rude and umpleasant, nothing like his coworker (Claudia) who was very charming and helpful.
We highly recommend the chicken tikka and the chocolate fudge cake.
Would be back someday buy you have to pick your staff better, that simple thing made us regret entering there for a while.
S. K.
Great food, stylish place, cozy atmosphere. Recommended for Lunch break.
L. T.
Excellent atmosphere and very tasty food as always. Been here 4 times now and cannot fault the service at all. Staff are friendly and cheerful, the dishes are biiig proportion and delicious and they serve my favourite dry cider here.
My parents had a blast, my flatmate enjoyed it, my brother left with a belly full of mead and I had a great time when I was first introduced to this pub! :D
I wish silver cross had a pub in Enfield too, I would be a monthly returning customer! :)
They deserve all the 5 stars.
Keep on doing an excellent job guys!
c. c.
Stacey was amazing she made us feel welcome. All staff are a breath of fresh air
R. M.
Great place between Trafalgar Square and Westminster
Spent our New Year at the bar and was lovely
The place is big and lively
F. H.
Better than any Ontario Fish & Chips ... but then again there was never really a contest between London and Ontario 🙄.
4 stars because I'm sitting near the Queens palace and more pampering was desired. No salt on the tables and the forgot to give me tartar sauce.
Y. P.
I came with my wife to watch france vs Deutschland, it was good we took vegan appetisers nice one thanks tou
M. B.
Nice selection of beer. The food was alright but not outstanding.
Unfortunately it gets incredibly cold everytime someone comes through the door in winter. Maybe put up a curtain to prevent the wind from blowing in everytime the door opens.
You have to order your food at the bar, if you sit in the upper area. The steak and ale pie tasted good, the potato mash on the side was nice as well but the seasonal vegetables were overcooked and tasted super boring. I asked for more gravy but they never brought it.
S. B.
Great place to drink and work excellent atmosphere at all times
E. H.
Nice enough place to sit if you want to pass a bit of time. I popped in to use the restroom but ended up staying for a coffee and some snacks since it was very clean and organised. Helpful and friendly staff too.
D. M.
Lovely place right close to Trafalgar square. For the price i would say tye meal size is a bit on the small size, but good quality nonetheless.
Good range of craft beers on tap.
P. S.
The Young Lady serving us said one of our meals was to small so SHE sent it back to the kitchen before it even got to us!!!
Very Friendly Staff as well!
👍
D. V.
We had really great curry there.
D. O.
Good food, polite service, reasonable prices.
O. L.
Very special. Open since 1799, offers a great menu. Ordered the steak and red wine pie, wasn't disappointed.
E. I.
Lovely time here the manager went our of his way to be helpful x
A. L.
I visited the place with a friend on a Saturday afternoon. We had a couple of drinks each. I had an Aperol Spritz which wasn't great and it was very expensive, then I had a beer which was much better and fairly priced.
Service was good and relatively efficient and the premises looked clean and spacious. Overall, positive experience.
R. C.
We went in for dinner as a party of 3. We tried to use the app but our table number did not appear on the app so had to go to the bar. The staff male behind the bar just grunted and nodded when being spoken to. The starter arrived quick but we then waited 55 minutes for the 3 mains to come. The food was nice but for the price the Sunday lunch seemed to be a small portion for the price.
D. G.
Nice friendly pub with plenty of tv's for sport as well as great beer !
R. T.
We had beers and lunch at the Silver Cross and found it to be a great spot to get out of the crowds at Trafalgar square. Great food and a wide selection of beers.
F. A.
Nice little pub friendly staff, had drinks which one of their cocktails was quite nice but a bit too sweet for me. Can't comment on the food as I didn't have any.
p. p.
Good pub just opposite the Trafalgar theatre.
C. M.
Great place for fish and chips.
C. C.
Great pub, good selection of real ales
R. K.
nice pub, good beer cool stuff..
M. H.
We watched the rugby downstairs had an individual TV to ourselves
C. P.
A great traditional pub with friendly staff, a good beer selection, and delicious food, particularly their Fish and Chips.
l.
Lovely food at a good price ,great staff .
L. G.
Nice pub in a centre of London, prices are reasonable for this area, friendly staff. Because it's all the time busy prepare for long waiting.
m. b.
Very nice pub. I had the fish & chips with mashed peas and my partner the chicken mushroom pie which she loved.
d. c.
Cozy place. It is a very big and busy pub which is great for big groups of friends. There is a pretty good choice of beers that can satisfy all the taste. The food is very good as well and there are multiple choices available. There is a limited selection of vegetarian dishes. The staff is friendly and the service very fast.
r. c.
Friendly atmosphere , friendly bar staff
S. E.
A fascinating pub. Lots to take in and look at. The drinks are served in dimple mugs. The staff wear costumes.
L. M.
Traditional pub. Good that it has a lot of space.
S. F.
This is decent pub bang in the heart of central London. I enjoyed a chicken burger and a pint during sightseeing in Westminster.
i. u.
Seemed a decent enough pub, the beer was good and despite it being a Saturday with lots of tourists, there was still plenty of seating. Around £5 for premium larger. We didn't eat but many people were and their meals looked great.
V. v. A.
Great food! Went there twice within the 3 or 4 days we were in town. Loved it! The food was fantastic and the atmosphere was also super nice (we sat downstairs both times). There also quite some nice ales so we were really happy. Recommend
P. S.
Lots of character and reasonably priced food. The Green King app is easy and v efficient. No more queueing at the bar. A pleasant and civilized experience.
J.
Good pub in central london. Big space friendly staff a big choice of drinks.
l. c.
Thanks for showing the Saints v Leeds game. Loved the gins.
I. D.
This is always a lively pub. Today was no exception, with a lot of navy people in full uniform. Great atmosphere. Not eaten here for a couple of years, so can't comment on the food. Despite the crowds, still managed to get a seat. You just have to look carefully.
J. N.
Great pub not far off Trafalgar Square. Real Greene King ales served properly which is really, really, REALLY good!
Food is also served which also looks good. Don't be deceived. From the outside it looks small but when you get in it's big with the same space again on the lower floor.
t. T. I.
I haven't been to this pub for ages but it was good. We only stopped for drinks but all good. Quick and friendly service in nicely maintained surroundings
E. K.
Oh my god! This place and foods are really worthwhile
C. D.
A decent pub on Whitehall. Great value for money food considering the location just off Trafalgar Square.
Drinks are reasonably priced as well.
Service is a little slow at peak times as they do not have sufficient staff always. However the staff are always friendly and welcoming.
They could do with fixing the hot taps in the gents toilets though.
L. D.
Nice traditional English pub with great food in a great location by Trafalgar Square. Luv it.
U. G.
It's a great pub, the staff are always helpful, different every time we go, but PLEASE SORT THE MENS TOILETS!! They were blocked this week, dreadful smell and close to dining areas. We have been calling here for years but in future a quick look downstairs will be made, you have a Spoons opposite and their loos are always good.
Μ. Μ.
Great food, drinks and atmosphere. A bit expensive but the food quality pays off.
M. E.
Lovely pub. We went twice while in London.
M. J.
I recommend the Big Fish and Chips
S. C.
It's got lots of interesting chairs with so much charm and intrigue. I loved the tiny thimbles that are glued to the ceiling above the bar. I'm in awe of the countless strawberry coloured barnacle shells hidden in the toilet cisterns.
A.
Been there a few times now great helpful staff , food always good
M. L.
Wifes meal was wrong the first time, then the correct meal had the wrong toppings and sides. My meal had the wrong sides. No wonder they male you pay for the food first.
Stupid ordering system. Was unfamiliar with a system like it so be sure to bring your wallet to the bar when you order your food.
Food was good not amazing. Atmosphere and seating was nice.
M. S.
Nice pub with good food i strongly recommend
R. W.
Good location, larger space to accommodate, however the fish batter was a bit soggy during this visit, and floor help was unwilling to be of service.
C. L.
Went on a Friday between 4 and 5 (Happy Hour I guess) was told there would be a 35 minute wait for food. Proceeded promptly to McDonalds next door and came back for a pint. Nice genuine English pub atmosphere though. Comfy seating around the back.
P. H. (.
Reasonable menu and beer selection
T. H.
We stopped in the Silver Cross for cold drinks and a quick bathroom break. They had a large selection of drinks. We had hard cider and it was ice cold, which was great as it was 85F that day. Had we been staying closer to that area we certainly would have returned for dinner. Maybe next time!
J. D.
The best pub in the parade. Has well known beers and the most varied menu. Is able to deliver food in a reasonable amount of time even on a full house. Not always perfect but good enough.
A. H.
One of the greatest pubs around. The decor is good and they also have an outdoor seating which is appropriate for a nice weather. One of the best things about it, though, is the service which is fast and intuitive. Everything you order is delivered in a matter of a couple of minutes.
E. C.
The food was average, the place is nice. The camembert was really good but please explain me why serving it with carrots and cucumber ? I'm french I almost felt insulted x)
S. F.
Five of us went in for tea on a Saturday, wasn't too busy, ordered our food all together but two meals arrived, then five minutes later another two, and when those meals were almost finished, the fifth meal turned up. If a number if meals are for the same table it's best they all arrive together. Besides that, atmosphere was good and food really nice.
D. S.
I’m sure it’s an overpriced tourist trap, but it’s the first pub we popped into so I have no other frame of reference. Nevertheless, the food was good and the beer was cold. 2 pints of beer, sausages and mash, and fish and chips were 34£.
I. L.
Had a few drinks here with colleagues to mark my retirement. Chosen because usually reasonably quiet, which isn't usual for many pubs in this area. Was OK but service was really slow. Need more bar staff, even if quiet!!
S. C.
Big, spacious and nicely decorated pub with an excellent selection of ales, lagers, ciders and spirits. It gets VERY busy after the offices kick out, but that's to be expected in this part of town. Was surprised to see a group of about 40 school kids in there, though, I must say.
E. s.
Very large pub (big downstairs area) with Sky Sports on big screens. Surprisingly unbusy considering the time that we visited (afternoon on a Sunday). Pretty much standard Green King but it was good as we got plenty of space. The only thing is that the staff weren't very welcoming but I imagine that that is to do with the location and constant barrage of tourists.
S. D.
It's not that easy to find free space in pubs within area, but after some quite amount of time invested finally we eneded in Silver Cross. There was a sufficient choice of ale. Beer was really good and afordable. Music was not too loud, so we were able to have conversation. Pub also have some machines to play in case somebody would be bored. Over all Silver Cross is a nice place worth to visit.
M. B.
I went here with a big group of colleagues on a quick visit to London. It's nice enough! They have lots and lots of space so it's appropriate for groups of various sizes. I see this as the kind of place its visitors will make itit. If you have a big bunch enjoying themselves it'll wake up. If not, it might seem really quiet because it's large and spread out. There's lots to drink. Food is ok.
N. D.
Nice pub. Healthy portion size for a standard over priced fish and chips you can find all over London. Nice twist with the vegetarian version. Staff were very accomadating and polite.
M. S.
Pretty good boozer on Whitehall. Due to the location close to Trafalgar Square it's pretty busy with tourists. It's a big place so plenty seats and a decent menu. Prices are what you would expect in Central London.
D. S.
Good traditional touristy food right off trafalgar Square. Fish was delicious. Roast beef and fries were fine. Prices were a little on the higher side. Venue is very nice and cozy
J. C.
We dropped in here for a quick drink and a rest from the heat. We went straight to the toilets as the tables were all quite full, it was very busy. Toilets were disgusting and locks broken etc. We went back upstairs as the downstairs area was closed. Managed to find a table and get a drink. Didn't eat here so can't comment, food looked ok.
J. S.
Wanted to find a British pub to have a meal and a few drinks at. This is a great place! Great food especially the pies. My wife who does not drink much enjoyed the Swedish cider.
J. A.
Bizarrely, big sections of the pub were closed off with reserved signs, even though the reservations weren't for another five hours, so was difficult to get a table. Eventually ate. Food was pretty standard, but no complaints. Service was good.
L. B.
Great location for lunch before our theatre visit to Trafalgar studios. Very busy but we found a free table. We had the steak and ale pie which was a proper pie and absolutely delicious.
L. C.
Great experience, fun and comfortable atmosphere, very friendly staff, and delicious food.
I had the steak and ale pie and my wife had the Louisiana burrito. This place has a really nice mix of local fare and plenty of American inspired choices, so something for everyone. The Louisiana burrito was vegetarian.
I would definitely go there again, but don't wait to be seated or you might just miss out on getting that table you had your eye on.... It's seat yourself. Then order and pay at the bar, let them know your table number, and the rest just happens. Oh, and they have a huge draft beer, ale, and cider selection.
C. S.
Usual meeting place when meeting mates for drinks. Great location and decently priced drinks
J. H.
Mainly a pub for tourists, and I'm not sure I'd necessarily suggest going out of your way to visit this pub, but you could certainly do worse. The staff were pleasant, the food was quite good (a decent version of the vegetarian fish and chips - deep fried halloumi - as served in many Taylor Walker pubs) and overall there wasn't really anything to complain about.
P. A.
A typical English pub. I love it
P. R. (.
Lovely Christmas lunch. Relaxed atmosphere, spacious pub, really nice staff. We had the Christmas menu, and it was excellent, and good value, especially for central London.
J. B.
Kind of a tourist pub right off Trafalgar square. It was pretty empty for early Sunday night but there was a rowdy group in the downstairs room. There was a major demonstration in front of the Brazilian embassy earlier in the day and it carried over to the pub albeit not as loud. Meanwhile, there was no table service and no one behind the bar happened to mention it when we sat down. After some time I figured it out and went to the bar to get drinks. After a more than ten minute wait while the bar keep attempted to keep the peace between two groups from the demonstration, I finally got my drinks. Gave it three stars only because the beer selection was good.
B. W.
Decent sized pub at the Trafalgar end of Whitehall. Prices fine and it’s size means you can find somewhere to drink pretty easily. Only mildly concerning bit was the signs up about pickpockets...
B. A.
Great place! The staff wasn’t very friendly and the toilets were bad.
The atmosphere and the food was awesome. In general, I recommend the place.
L. G.
Nice pub with nice food and beers.

One of my favorite pubs in London. Great fish and chips, amazing steak and ale pie, great sunday roast. I dont drink but the pint of coke was awesome as well. Always come back there when in London. Great to watch Premier League!
T. L.
Great food and even greater staff. Bigger than it looks. Very busy. Has sport but fortunately volume is low and music is played. Recommended.
P. W.
Wasn't in here long enough to give 5 stars as was waiting to meet my wife and daughter and they called earlier than I thought they would but a really nice pub, seems pricey but it isn't considering the location and will visit again :-)
J. F.
Nice pub, good atmosphere, medium cider and well kept Greene King ale were fine. Food on offer but didn't try.
G. S.
Lovely old English pub with history.....great for an after work pinta.
Can get crowded in the summer but there is plenty of space. Does food and a good selection of ales.
N. J.
Great pub. Nice interiors. Good choice of beers, including the Camden Town Gentleman's WIT, which is a white beer. Slightly on the pricier side. Not very far away from Trafalgar Square.
M. J.
Enjoyed my visit. Staff were very friendly. Also with a busy bar knows who's next in line. My burger could have been hotter. But they were flat out.
A. I.
Great place to eat , good atmosphere
R. H.
Nice pub in the middle of London, lots of beers and Ciders and great selection of spirits
G. S.

Good sunday roast
A. P.
Good pub grub. I had steak pie 😋 veg was OK & mash a bit dry. Go here every year when in Whitehall, London usually better.
A. E.
On the corner of Trafalgar Square & Whitehall this Greene King Pub has great food, staff and drinks. I had the massive fish & chips & blackcurrant cordial £15.00

The place seems so different without the many tourists that usually visit! They offer the familiar Coronavirus meaures. The staff are great. Definitely drop in.
R. N.
Very good fish and chips and beer. I didn't pay but I believe it was very reasonably priced. Nice vibe, nice crowd. Staff is friendly and helpful. Great location.
W. N.
This is a nice inner city pub. One of the better in Central London. The food tastes nice to me.
P. G.
Really friendly helpful service. Covid safe as ordered at table. Nachos great, took advantage of eat in to help out!
S. T.
Delicious food in a fun British pub atmosphere right on white hall out side Trafalgar square. Great location. It is very busy so you might have to wait for a table but it's worth it.
D. G.
Good enjoyable pub
n.
The usual spot for work drinks. Good atmosphere and the staff are fine. The decor is a good mix between your classic old pub and gastro.
D. S.
The food was pretty good but the beer was reaaaaally flat, it tasted like it had 30% water. First time in London, last time I get a beer in this place.
M. W.
Best to get here early, it's very popular and fills up quickly. We had lovely sandwiches and great beer. Very nice.
S. I.
We went in on a Friday night during an event, so it was CROWDED - you could hardly hear yourself. But it was decorated so cozily for Christmas and I would have loved to have been able to stay longer. If I went again I'd surely go in at a less popular time.
Z. N.
They were happy for 50 hungry and thirsty ♿ disabled people to burst through the door unannounced.... They were welcoming and moved chairs and tables to make us comfortable. That deserves 5 stars ✨ thank you Silver Cross Xx
M. A.
Great place to eat Chicken Wings! And drink off course...
J. C.
A decent pub in Central London. Traditional atmosphere, good quality food. May be a bit pricy for the service they offer, but it's worth a visit if you are a fan of "no frills" service.
J. F.
Very roomy pub with a good selection of drinks and food
J. D.
Not bad at all, typical London pub with decent pub grub and a variety ales and spirits. Good for a few beers and a chat with friends.

Had a well deserved drink here following the walking tour in a very hot sun. Nice place. Was a bit crowded due to all the other tiyr groups ending there too.
F. A.
Nice place to chill and watch football.
I. M.
Well spaced area for food and drink. The app ordering system was ponderous and confusing however!
P. A.
Great service for our event
M. G.
Very loud, not bad for the first pub stop. The service was excellent, large beer selection. Very old red wood interior
B. G.
Had a great time in this pub, it's not that pricely, is quite close to a reference point of London, and their cider tasted great. It's also not loud so great place to talk.
y. n.
Mediocre food, disinterested staff
D. H.
Decent food and good service nly down side to our visit was the very loud person on the next table but that isn't the pubs fault
P. M.
Nice atmosphere, decent but unexciting food, and little to no service... So good for drinks, but choose the neighbouring pub for food and better service instead.
K. A.
Very lively bar with a good amount of variety. People are friendly and the atmosphere is fun just like a bar should be. Good people and good drinks make this place pretty great
M. D.
The food is great, though it took more than 45 mins to get it and more than 20 to order it
It was very busy and the waiting times long. The food though is worth it.
c.
It's a great place to have a pint and wait for it to all blow over
C. G.
Good beer and staff, however was soured with my friend's chair breaking underneath him. All they did was fill accident report book and give him a replacement chair
R. M.
A great pub near Trafalgar Square, affordable with a wide range of drinks. Lot of space, good food and from my experience nice staff.
M. K.
Great beer, great fish and chips. Waited quite a long time for the meal. Ask if there is a wait.

L. D.
Very nice pub, large place where you can find seats in +/- calm corner as you like !
Good drinks, good food and very good music ! we enjoyed it.
L. T.
The food is really good. However, I find the service quite unfriendly. Also the price is quite high, but it's expected since it's near trafalgar Square.
S. M.
Food was ok. Came very quickly. Very busy as you expect for a London pub. Easy for tourists but not much character.
S. G.
Attended our works Christmas do here, good selection of drinks, nice buffet laid on, would definitely revisit
J. T.
Spacious pub, so you'll have the best chance of getting a seat here over anywhere else. Good location and a good selection of drinks
A. B.
Absolutely mediocre Whitehall pub that does the job. Would have scored higher if they didn't charge me for the cordial in my lager and lime.
j. b.
It's OK for able bodied visitors, Wheelchair users beware, the lift was extremely slow!, at least 5 mins to get two feet up!, after using it a fellow wheelchair user in a motorised, could not get it to lift, the staff couldn't help, and the user had to stay in the entrance!, the place is nice, but expensive for London
D. D.
A bit messy on the tables and around. Nice waitress at the bar, who gave me beer to tadte before ordering it. Food was ok.
M. A. S.

A slightly better than average central London pub, where it is usually easy to get a seat, but that is probably because the prices are not cheap.
