Fantastic atmosphere! Brilliant music selection and wonderful seating, enough for a big group of myself and my friends. The 2-for-1 cocktail menu is extensive and the small plate selection is nice and filling.

Welcoming staff. The manager came over to wipe our table because we choose a dirty one when people were just leaving. Very covid safe. Rodney insisted on sanitation even though it was very busy, before we sat down. The cocktails were very tasty.

I love this place usually but tonight was a bit of a let down at first. Inexperienced bartenders who were struggling to keep up with orders and some attitude was received from staff. However I usually can't rave enough about how much I like it here. Cheap cocktails, good DJ, great atmosphere!

Good atmosphere on a Friday night. Although the cocktails seemed to be like syrups poured into a glass they were quite nice (I can’t be too harsh I work in a bar!) Good security on the door, scanning ID’s so there wasn’t really any “riff-raff” food was what you would expect for the price. :)

After reading the reviews I thought that I would voice my opinion from the opposite side... Being the sober side.... I was head doorman last year but had to leave due to having a baby. I enjoyed working for Sarah and Bev who are excellent managers to work for. Hopefully I can return once this pandemic is over and the doors reopen. Alot of reviews on here talking about bar staff and in their defence they and door staff have to put up with ALOT of abuse. People get themselves so intoxicated that they would return the NEXT night unaware of their actions, so please do not put down the staff if you have had drinks at the time you visited. This establishment deals with a ZERO TOLERANCE. When I was head doorman people would complain about how long it took to search them but wouldn't commend on how we were keeping them safe and away from illegal substances. These negative reviews on staff isnt fair and 1 sided. As I told many of the locals... If you think that the house rules here are anything... Go to westend and you will see what waiting in a queue is etc. Bar staff are insulted, shouted at amongst other things so from the negative peoples perspective they may seem RUDE etc but why don't you ask them if they are ok? Everyone is human!!!!! ALOT of locals I know love the bar staff and management hence they were attending every weekend including when it snows! You cannot be everybody's cup of tea and biscuit especially when intoxicated. Jayme x

Not a bad place to visit. Serves a good selection of food. Good selection of beer and wine also serves cocktails. Not good if you have a limited time as only tend to have a couple of bar staff on at any time. If they are both making cocktails as they were when I was in there last night then be prepared to wait!

I came to the Slug & Lettuce for mothers day dinner with my family. The food was really lovely and the staff were very pleasant; however an incident occurred with another family who were rude, aggressive and threatening towards the staff, who looked like they were trying to sort their situation out. My family felt too uncomfortable to continue eating due to the situation. The staff and management dealt with this professionally and calmly. I can't fault them, their behaviour or their service. We would come again for this reason and for their lovely food.

Came here for drinks and nibbles the other week with my partner and her friend. Weather was good so we sat outside at the front; cold, as the front doesn’t get any sun in the afternoon. Only one seating area at the back which gets sun and was already taken. Staff were fine, drinks ok, food good. Baked Camembert sharer went down a treat as did many other starters. Would return but only when the weather improves or I take a jacket. Outside heaters perhaps??

This is my second visit since the refurb and I really like the place now. Before the refurb the music was way too loud and it was becoming a questionable place to visit attracting the wrong sort of people. Now it is light and airy with a clean on trend decor. I shared some platters and they were very good. I have really struggled to get a good Bloody Mary locally but The Slug has changed that. The Bloody Mary was fantastic, mixed perfectly with the right spice and alcohol bite, delicious. Staff attentive and efficient. Excellent turn around I am looking forward to more visits.
